Backup doesn´t save it all!
I used the backup-function of V8 to create a copy of all 20.000 Photos and the catalog-items on a second PC.
After that I lost all Uper-Levels of my File-Structure.
Example:
Photos Live Phase 1 Has not been created
1946 to 1955 Has not been created
1946 Text Has been created
here are my Photos All photos has been copied
1947 Text Has been created
here are Photos Has been created
1956 to 1965 Has not been created
1956 01 Has been created
here are my Photos Has been created
Photos Live Phase 2 Has not been created
ect.
In some cases the structure is much deeper than this example.
Only the directories with pictures in it are there - the rest doesn´t exist anymore.
In the meantime I used my "normal" Backup to re-create oll the directories and Files.
Question: is this an error of handling or is that program a bit .........

HI, I just got a Macbook Pro. It's great but my mail doesn't work at all. It will come up correctly, but take forever to download messages, then won't delete them, then won't save them to folders. Then when I go to quit mail it's like it gets stuck between quitting and not. I have to force quit, then restart my computer if I want to pull up my mail again. How can I fix this?
If you just got your new MBP you have phone support from Apple (which is quite good) call them. 800-692-7753 tell the automated answerer "mail technical support" you'll have human quite quickly. Hope this helps.

When trying to PDF a webpage into a PDF, it does not work, I go through all the steps as normal, and It does nothing. I can repeat my action, where instead of "printing" to adobe, it saves the file, which it doesn't save it at all. I can't even find the original in my work folder. I need to know how to stop this from happeing and get it back to the way it has been working he last 6 months since i purchased this program.

Are you able to print the webpage to 'Adobe PDF' to convert it to pdf.
Which Browser version, OS version and Acrobat version are you using?

Whem i'm doing the backup it automaticaly saves contacts.....because i've synced with another computer and it deleted all my contacts...and i really need them!!!!!
If you haven't been using your phone as recommended, then you've lost all your contacts. Contacts should be synched to your computer (Address Book, Outlook) or a cloud service (MobileMe, Google) for safekeeping. The iPhone was never intended to be a storage device.
If you haven't been using your phone as recommended and synching your contacts as above, frankly, you've no one to blame for your loss of data but yourself.
On that topic, are you making regular backups of your computer's data as well? Hard drives WILL fail. -
After 9.5.1 iphoto doesn't save changes in its library
Since I've updated iphoto to v9.5.1, iphoto doesn't save changes made to the library.
When I
- delete event
- import event from aperture
- import pictures
everything goes well until I close and reopen iphoto. Than everything is the same as when I opened iphoto before the changes.
So it doesn't save the changes in its library.
Anyone experiencing the same problem? Or anyone who has a solution?Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

hi, it sounds like i have the same problem.
i'm running AE cs4 on windows 7 32bit (sp1). i have a lot of other software, but i'm not sure if you want everything or just what's running in the backround while i'm on AE. no other software is running while i run AE. i do have 3rd party effects. 3gb ram, intel core 2duo 1.5 GHz.
the problem is this. i highlight all the properties i wish to make an animation preset from, click save animation preset, set the save location to desktop (to ensure it isnt an administrative permission conflict), and click save. after that, no preset file is made.
i've never had a problem until now. and none of the above information about my computer has changed.
i believe the thing that could have done it is tampering with PresetEffects.xml file in support files. i made a custom effect with 6 slider controls and used script editor to apply it to a null. when i tried saving it as an animation preset, the above problem happened and i havent been able to fix it.
this was the first time i tampered with the presetEffects file. i made a backup of it before editing it at all. when i encountered the problem, i replaced the edited file with the backup..still not fixed (i resterted AE every time i made a change to the preseteffects file). i then reinstalled AE and made sure the PresetEffects file was back to it's original state. still no fix.
any ideas? -
When I open Iphoto, I see all my photos for a second and then they disappear and only a white dotted box appears. Then I click on it and for photos is a triangle with an exclamation point. It doesn't happen to all but quite a lot. how to I get them back
Have you recently deleted photos using the finder or run clean up software? Is so restore your backup
If not the backup your iPhoto Library and launch iPhoto while depressing the option and command keys. Rebuild your database

I recently upgraded from 4S to 5S. There are 2 games that I wish to transfer to the new device. 1st game isn't available in the Store anymore, so can't download. 2nd game doesn't save when you change devices. How do I get those 2 apps to my new phone? Can I do that manually through iTunes?

The Game Center used to work with my Apple ID before I updated to iOS 7.4, I used to play multiple player with EA Real Racing 3 game but it doesn't work at all and every time I tried to go to the Game Center it's just blank, even to the settings nothing!
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Go to Settings>Game Center and sign out and sign back in
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Why my iCloud backup doesn't download pictures in my Camera Roll ?
everything is in the title,
my iCloud backup doesn't work perfectely, i m about to lose one year of pictures and videos. I'm a little bit upset to have paid 80 dollars for a service which doesn't work. should i ask for to be reimbursed ?
The backup was working well until the part where my iphone just restart. The applications are downloading and some of them not, those who cannot be installed on the iphone just disappear.
Then my Cameral roll is telling me that I have 1 pictures on 6372.... but nothing happens then. i'm waiting to get all the pictures, but it stuck somewhere. i have the icon which informed that's the downloading is in process... but no pictures appears...
have you got any idea to help me ?
would it be possible that iOs6 could resolve this problem, and then could download all my pictures and video ?

I called the apple support and they only told me, ho that must be a corrupted backup. Well, i guess my two last backup are corrupted too. short sentences. I m an apple user for many things, nothing happened to me for many years except this probleme 2 days ago.

I have Mountain Line with Safari 6.0.2. I used to open Facebook, Youtube, Twitter etc. and everytime I select "Stay signed in" "Remember my password" etc. but it doesn't save my passwords and everytime I have to sign in again. I never sign out from these websites but when I open it next time, it requires username & password.
Does anybody know the problem & solution, plz help. I also found disk erros and reaoired permissiomn and the restarted and did disk utlty again and repaired the same disk errors and then did a restart and still does not remember passwords or ask me. Did all this still no luck it saved apple login on here and saved gmail account but others one it used to save does no longer.here is what i did below and still no luck.

Set as default tab doesn't save
Because it shows the name of the last poster, I would prefer to have Overview as the default view for forums I visit. (I would hope that the names of the OP and last poster will be reinstated as soon as possible for all page views. As many others have already mentioned, this is very useful information to have.)
For some reason, only in 10.4 Tiger does Overview remain as the default. (And, I don't remember even having to use Set as default tab for the Tiger forum to remain in Overview. It has just always appeared that way.) With any of the other forums I frequent, even if I click on Set as default tab for Overview, if I leave that forum and return it always reverts to Discussions view. It doesn't save that view.
In addition, Set as default tab doesn't even appear as an option for several of the forums I visit.
Is this a bug, or do I need to know something about making the save work?
Unless it's some setting I'm missing on the Personalize/Widgets page, I don't see anything I can use there. Openoffice 3.2 calc doesn't save row height in xls

I have upgraded to ooo 3.2 recently. I work with excels spreadsheets so I have to save files into xls. Suddenly I realized that Calc doesn't save custom row height, when I open the file all rows are displayed with default height. It worked in the previous version, pacman log: upgraded go-openoffice (3.1.1.5-1 -> 3.2.0.4-1)
I searched ooo forums, but didn't find anything.
update:
in case someone is interested, I have found a kind of work-around. Select sheet, Format / Rows / Optimal height -> increase value at least one step, in my case from 0.0 mm to 0.1 mm, then save. Reopen xls, rows will be displayed with the custom heights. Unfortunately one has to apply this workaround on every singe sheet in the workbook. :-/ No way I would do this with all my workbooks.

1. Create a script somewhere in your PATH and make it executable:

2. copy libjpeg.so.7.0.0 to the directory mentioned in the script (in this case /var/tmp)
3. in your file manager e.g. nautilus right click on the xls, choose properties / Open with / custom command, and use the script's name. -
Picture doesn't save in the gallery
hi! my name is Fraaz. and i am from Lahore Pakistan. Often my Phone starts malfunctioning while i tap the camera button, it takes photo but doesn't save it on albums but shows preview after a couple of seconds, meanwhile my phone got hanged while showing preview of the picture and once i switched off my device and after some time switch on it, the device camera starts working accurately and starts saving pictures. kindly let me know what is the issue and what to do with this?
It's a common problem with the Z1 as the camera gets too hot to operate especially if you are taking pictures in low light. Also, the freezing problem with the Z1 and Android Kitkat is well known. It's possible that your phones memory is often too busy to save the picture taken because of running apps. I suggest you disable or uninstall apps that you don't use and regularly close background apps by tapping on the Recents button (to the right of Home) and swiping them to the right. You can disable default apps from Settings - Apps - All - Scroll to the app - Disable.
