Backup drive and transferred files not found

I recently purchased a time capsule. I transferred some files from an older hard drive to the TC (they appeared on the TC) and then backed up my PowerMac G5 (wired directly) and my MacBook Pro (wirelessly) to the TC. The initial backups for these two computers worked fine, but I am now encountering two problems.
1. The files I originally transferred from the old hard drive now don't appear on the TC (although it looks like they might be there based on the amount of TC drive space occupied). Is there anyway to access these older files (assuming they are still there)?
2. Frequently when I try to enter TC from the PowerBook Pro, it says that hard drive not found. Also, it doesn't back up automatically. The only back ups are those I have done manually. The TC seems to be working fine with the wired PowerMac G5.
I would appreciate suggestions on either topic.

1. Have you changed the file sharing access on your Time Capsule since you copied your files? When you use the Time Capsule file sharing without accounts setup you have access to all of the disk. When file sharing with accounts is enabled you have access to a Shared file (where everyone has access and where your Time Machine backups are kept) and then to your own personal file (where only you alone have access). You no longer have access to anything that is not in the Shared file or your account file. If you have enabled account access then I would suggest turning it off which would then give you access to the whole disk and then moving the files you are referring to either into your Shared folder or your Account folder.
2. Go to System Preferences, Time Machine, and then Change Disk. Select the name of your Time Capsule (this won't overwrite or delete any of your previous Time Machine backups). This should hopefully fix the problem.

External Hard drive and dmg files not mounting

External Hard drive and dmg files suddenly not mounting. Im running Mavericks on 27" iMac. Anyone have a fix or has anyone else suddenly had this problem? There was a Mavericks update a few weeks ago, but things were fine until today. This is weird. Ive checked in disk utility and can see one of my two external HD's, the one that I back up. But not even this will mount. Ive tried repairing HD thinking it was damaged but now see that all my ext hd's suddenly dont mount. Ive tried several mac restarts.

Solved the problem. My external HD is a WD (My Book Studio). I needed to install updated driver manager and this fixed it:

"Error Result code = -43" AND "Audio file not found"

In Garageband I was trying to click Join, but kept getting "Error Result code = -43"
What does this mean?
Also, I thought saving the file and restarting Garageband would help, but upon re-opening the program BIG problem: the file (just this one, others are opening fine) has this error message upon opening "Audio file “07 I See the Light.aif” not found!"

the error -43 is a system level error, so i HIGHLY doubt this will help, however you can ctrl-click the project file, choose Show Package Contents, open the media folder and preview any audio files in there to see if the missing file is there, but in all likelihood, you will need to re-record it

PDK 6.0 Software Component and SCA File Not Found

We are caught in a scenario where we don't find the PDK 6.0 Software Component in the SLD and we are not sure how to get this in the SLD. In the current SLD(SP16) it shows PDK 5.0 Software Component. Also kidnly let us know how to get the SCA file in order to be able to Check-In in the CMS against the PDK 6.0 Software Component.

Problems mounting USB thumb drives and transferring files

My iMac 24" (10.5.4) won't recognize a USB thumb drive (even if plugged directly into computer, not hub) unless I restart. Then when I try to transfer large number of files back or forth from thumb drive, it won't complete the transfer, gets hung up.
None of these problems with my Intel MacBook (also 10.5.4).

You might try reformatting the usb drive using Disk Utility. Use MacOS Extended(Journaled). That might help.

My iTunes wouldn't update and so I tried to reinstall the new version, my computer restarted and when I clicked on iTunes, it said file not found.

I tried to update my iTunes so I could put some songs onto my ios 7 device and it wouldn't update. I would get a fail message. I went to the apple website and reinstalled it. After my computer restarted, I clicked on iTunes and said file not found. I looked everywhere but could not found a working application link. Help!!

File not found error from scheduler

Hi,
We have a scheduler file with .cfa extension in the cf scheduler which trigger some mails to certain recipients on execution.
At the bottom option fo the scheduled task, we have checked the option to 'save output to file' and has given the file
path. On direct execution of the given url, the file is executed successfully and mails are fired.
But while trying to execute the same via scheduler it is not firing the mails. On investigation of the output file,
found the error message 'File not found'.
Is it possible that the file get executed when directly browsing the url and shows 'file not found' error
while executing via cf scheduler?(CF 8 is used.)

To be more specific,
the url format given in the cf admin scheduler is like this:
"http://www.domainname.com/myfolder/myfile.cfa"
A file path to log the output is also given to publish.
If we copy the above url to a browser and execute, the file gets executed and mails are fired.
If we set the interval or run the scheduler from the administrator,mails are not sent.On examination of log file given in the scheduler section, it is
showing error '/myfolder/myfile.cfa' file not found.

How to use GarageBand at school and avoid getting 'File Not Found'

Last year we used Audacity and this year we used GarageBand to create podcasts.
We had students keeping their GarageBand project files on their USB sticks so that they could also work at home but many of them lost their work because they would get the message 'File Not Found'. The only work around we could come up with was to assign each student a computer and force them to only work on that computer and save their work in the GarageBand folder.
Why is it not possible to use GarageBand projects across multiple computers by transferring with a USB? I even had them do drag and drop from the GarageBand folder to their USB instead of doing Save As but neither worked without errors.
Sadly, many of these 160 students now have a negative opinion of Apple products and Apple software. I still like GarageBand, but it doesn't seem like a very good option for educational uses unless there is some sort of workaround that will allow my students to work on their projects on multiple computers.

the only immediate thought is that you didn't format the USB drives for Mac OS. GB files require it, they won't work under other formats

Try a more recent version of my advice. The "for older video cards version" may work when the default version doesn't.

I want to use my 1TB Seagate Hard drive for time machine and transferring files from Mac to PC.

For about a year I've been using my 1TB external hard drive for only time machine. To be honest, it wasn't until today that I tried to connect my hard drive to a PC and realize it isn't compatible. I read about partitioning the hard drive so that it can work both for time machine and transferring files between pc and mac. I'm not what you would call tech savvy, so I was wondering if I can get some advice on how to do this.

To do it, you have to partition the hard disk, so you will have one partition for Time Machine and another one to store files and use them in a PC and Mac. To create the partition, follow these steps > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU3.html
In order to read and write in the external disk on the PC, you have to select "MS-DOS (FAT)" as "Format". If you choose any other option, the PC won't be able to read your external disk. Apart from that, note that you can't use files bigger than 4 GB with FAT. If you want to use the external disk with files bigger than 4 GB, you have to format your new partition in exFAT, and you have to do it on a PC

I have a clickfree backup drive and don't know how to restore my previous bookmarks? I tried to copy the places.sqlite file from the backup drive to my compute

I have a clickfree backup drive and my computer crashed. I restored it to factory settings and reinstalled Firefox but cannot figure out how to get my old bookmarks back. I tried to replace the new places.sqlite file with the one I had on my backup drive but still got nothing? I tried to use the restore option but it won't take the old places.sqlite file. Is there anyway to get my old bookmarks? I'm really not a techy person.....

Moved my files to external hard drive, now files not found. Help?

My Itunes folder having outgrown my memory, I moved all the files to my external hard drive, following the directions in Itunes. I was able to play the songs as long as the hard drive was connected. However, I opened Itunes mistakenly without the E: Drive connected, and it opened blank, with no files in place. I closed, hooked up the hard drive, and opened Itunes again, holding down the shift key and choosing the library on E: (the xmp file). The files now show up, but when I try to play them, I get a message indicating that the file isn't found, do I want to find it? I can, but I don't want to go through 5000 files and add each one individually. If I try adding or importing the folder again, the file is simply in itunes twice. I can always import everything again, but I don't want to lose all my ratings, last-played, etc. It took a lot of time to listen to and rate all those songs. Any help would certainly be appreciated. I am having the same problem. I moved my itunes library to an external drive to free up the space on my notebook and now I "get files not found do you want to search" If I search I can find the song in Windows but have to find each song individually, I have 2600 songs I burned from my CD collection, it would take way too long. I have tried copying the file to the same drive, I have reintalled itunes multiple times. I have checked Apple and my computer is "authorized". Is there any way out of this? Otherwise I will be limited to just having the music I already have on my ipod and being unable to add any more, and if that ever bocomes compromised I would be unable to restore it. None of my music is purchased from itunes, it is all burned from my CD's.

i followed the link and all the instructions things seemed to go well: it still asked for two files i did not have or could not locate: first its asked for generalstub, then it asked for seedstup and then generalstup again. at this point the installation was at 67% and had passed the link succesful stage and was at the setup succeful stage. when i clicked ignore on generalstub, seedstup and then generalstup again it quicly moved to 100% and never took me to the stage for me to run oraInstroot.sh and allroot.sh
the configuration assistant stage never cameup and it skipped to the page Specify Repository Database Configuration
where it asked for repository database hostname port, service/sid and SYSMAN password and also manament service security password. whe i input all the infor mation it will give errors. i have tries deleting all oracle 3 or 4 times and all files that oracle has and repeated the process and am always stuck here.

I had the same confusing (because file is clearly here) error with isql:

Using bcp gave me a hint as to what the real problem is:

bcp: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypto.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Oopsie my bad: the package is clearly listed in the
system requirements page.
Running "zypper install libopenssl0_9_8" fixed my issue.
