Backup Error : The Data Is Invalid Windows Server 2008 R2

Hello,
I have a Problem when I try to make Backups to Partition C in Windows Server 2008 R2:
Error The Data is Invalid.
Obs: I can make backups for System Reserved Partition .
I had the same problem 2 months ago (the data is invalid), Then I folowed this the advice to delete "Framework64\v2.0.50727\Temporary

Now I have the same problem and I delete the
Temporary ASP.NET Files , but it is not working , I received the same error on backup:
"The backup operation that started at '‎2012‎-‎09‎-‎20T07:13:26.024163900Z' has failed with following error code '2147942413'. Please review the event details for a solution, and then rerun the backup operation once the issue is resolved."
When I try vssadmin list writers, Everything is ok , "No error" .
I tried to run :

the issue may be caused by an invalid entry inside the following registry sub tree.
HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
Please open the registry editor with regedit.
Expand and local to the subtree, check if there is an entry that has a ".bak" value appended. If so, this may be cause the failure when trying to resolve the SID of the writer.
Please backup the registry key first, and then delete that entry with the extra ".bak" and reboot the server then test the backup
Run the command "vssadmin list writers" and make sure all the writers are stable with no errors
Please look for errors in application event logs after you initiate backup on the server

Other notes that might be of use is that I have tried to uninstall Adobe AIR with a similar error message.
I am hoping someone can provide some insight on how to resolve this situation.

I downloaded and run the Microsoft Install and Uninstall Fix It. Thinking there could be issues with the current version of AIR, I ran the utility and chose to uninstall the current version of AIR; and was successful.
I followed up by restarting the computer and then go to the Adobe AIR download page. When I try to install the new version, it get basically the same error message. The log file from the install is below.

Finally, when I try to run the fixit tool again, it is of no practical use as there is no program to repair.
Again, I am hoping someone can provide some insight on how to resolve the current situation

AGPM Error The data is invalid

I'm running into an intermittant error when using the AGPM v4 plugin with GPMC. Occasionally when I go to deploy a GPO that is pushing an application to a system, I receive an error like this:
Deploy GPO: FlagstaffAZ-B SBSC App Inst - Adobe Flash 10.1 test DFS...Failed
The overall error was: The data is invalid. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000D)
Additional details follow.
[GPMC Error] The task cannot be completed. The application deployment script (.aas file) for [\\hr.local.ad\flagstaffaz-b sbsc\Apps\GPO\Adobe\fl10.1\install_flash_player_10_plugin.msi] cannot be regenerated.
The following error occurred:
The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

From the AGPM server I can see the .msi files without issue using both the system account and the AGPM service account. I've added quotes around the UNC path without success as well.
The strange thing is that after I attempt to deploy a GPO like this and receive the above error I can no longer check out the GPO (I receive the same error). If I delete and create a new GPO with the same config 1/2 the time I will be able to deploy
the GPO assuming I create it and deploy it within 10 or so minutes otherwise I will receive the same error.
Has anyone run into this issue before or have a work around it?

Here are the step that I took to recreate this issue:
1. Start GPMC from Win 7 w/SP1
2. Create new Controlled GPO with "Create in archive and production"
3. "Check Out" the gpo.
4. Edit the checked out gpo and add the MSI package for software distribution (Computer Configuration\Policies\software settings\software installation).
5. "Check In" the checked out version of the gpo.
6. No issues so far.
7. Select Deploy to deploy the gpo and I get this error.

8. This same process performed on the AGPM 4.0 server (W2K8 R2) produces the same result.
9. I tried this same process on a W2K3 server using AGPM 2.5 and using the same .MSI file and it works just fine.
It seems that even the checked out version has the problem before you even check it in. I tried the following:
1. Start GPMC from W2K8 R2 w/no SP
2. Create new Controlled GPO with "Create in archive and production"
3. "Check Out" the gpo.
4. Copied the .MSI package to the local drive d:\temp.
5. Made sure the AGPM service account also has Full Control to d:\temp.
6. Edit the checked out gpo and add the MSI package for software distribution (Computer Configuration\Policies\software settings\software installation).
7. Before checking in the GPO I tried to generate an HTML report just to see what happens (right click on checked out gpo\Settings\HTML Report) and I get this error:

Solved this after some trawling through xml configuration files on the server.
The file C:\Oracle\product\11.1.0\db_1\owb\j2ee\config\http-web-site.xml contains the reference to keystore.jks:
<ssl-config keystore="*%ORACLE_HOME%*/owb/j2ee/config/keystore.jks" keystore-password="->keystoreadmin"/>
changing this to:
<ssl-config keystore="C:\Oracle\product\11.1.0\db_1/owb/j2ee/config/keystore.jks" keystore-password="->keystoreadmin"/>
and the OC4J container starts successfully.

What is the easiest way to replicate(backup) a VM whose host is Windows Server 2008 R2?

I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V Manager and I have a Domain Controller as VM (which is running Server 2012 R2) and I would like to enable replicationfor this VM(I want to back up the Domain Controlloer).

From my perspective, in this case the backup/replication solution should:
Perform image-level backup, as it’s always preferable to use such method for backing up/replicating virtual machines.
Guarantee application consistency. That’s being said, not only should it backup VMs running special application in consistent (VSS-aware) mode, but also it should apply
application-specific settings to prepare each application to perform
VSS-aware restore on the next VM startup.
Support 2012 R2 platform.
We’re using Veeam for the same purposes, as it does have abovementioned functionality. Though, you can stick to whatever solution that can boast with the listed options.

Most likely someone performed some registry edits that although they got the print server operational, it blocks backups up through the Windows 7 version.

Error In Installing AddOn on Windows Server - 2008

I have created an addon on Visual Studio 2005 in Windows Server 2003 OS and then packaged that using B1DE Tool as ard file and run that on my system and the addon is working properly . But when i want to run that addon on system with operating System as Windows Server 2008 the addon is not getting installed and is giving as error message " Incorrect Format " and not even the exe of addon is not running on that server machine .What to do so that my addon works .

My main problem occurs while creating the ard file .Normally While building AddOn installer file system creates .Ard file in Bin Folder. But when i creates the Ard File by changing the Target CPU as x86 Then a folder named x86 get created in the bin folder of AddOn Installer file without any ard file in that folder.Then i again build the addon installer project and copies the
Exe file of x86 folder & Ard File of Bin Folder and deploy that on Server 2008 .Then the system is throwing a message "
Wrong Digital Signature " that's where i am facing problem while creating ard file bychanging the compile mode to x86.
Please suggest since its causing me problems in deploying on Client Server .

Error trying to install SP1 Windows Server 2008 R2

I'm having an error when I'm trying to deploy service pack 1 of Windows Server 2008 R2. I try this scenario installing the SP1 in a workgroup machine and the results were successful. But when I'm trying to install in my Domain it doesn't work. Later I remove
the machine from the Domain and again try to install the SP1 and it also doesn't work.
What permissions in files or procedures can I implement for having a successful deploy of Service Pack 1 in my Domain?

I am sorry to hear that.
Here are a few things that I suggest you try:
Grant Full Control for SYSTEM, NETWORK SERVICE and Administrator on C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\networkservice folder.
If you have Windows Process Activation service installed on the machine, uninstall it.
Open required RPC ports.

Please confirm you have configured the correct TCP IP address, if you have the static IP address please confirm your default gateway and the DNS server address
is correct and work properly.

Get 0x80780124 error when trying to restore Windows Server 2008 R2

We are trying to restore a HP Proliant ML350 G6 Windows 8 R2 Server but every time we do we get a message that states "The system image restore failed error details: Windows Backup failed to extend or mount the file system on the recovered volume.
(0x80780124)" We were trying the restore from the CD. Any ideas what would be causing the issues?

DFS question: What does "Set Active" mean on the DFS tab in windows server 2008

When I logged into server and went to the DFS tab to check and see if it was replicating between two of the different shares. I saw one share marked as "Active" What does that mean?
I also seen a button that said "Set Active" I am guessing its related to my above question.
I am guessing its the root? The directory that others pull from or something? I tried to google that all over and could not find anything specific to this question which I found very odd.

Same command runs on other machine without any problem for the same directoy.
Can someone assist me in fixing the problem?
