Backup issues Ipad2 Version 4.3.1 Itunes not backing up pics

I have followed all the directions on a bunch of different sites and nothing is working.  I cannot access the photos on my camera roll on my Ipad 2 to my ITunes account.
in iTunes when I click on photos it does not give me any option to locate the 489 photos on my ipad.  It only finds what is on my Mac.
If anyone can help me or explain the step I'm missing I'd appreciate it.  I'm running 4.3.1 right now and want to update to the newest version but I do not want to lose all of my pictures.  I have tried downloading apps from the appstore but they require at least os5 to run.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
I keep getting the update warning that the only things that will be kept are contacts, calendars and messages.

I think you are misunderstanding how the transfer of photos from the iPad to the Mac works. You don't use iTunes to go from the iPad to the Mac. Use iPhoto or Image Capture to import the photos.
Connect the iPad to your Mac and launch iPhoto or Image Capture. With iPhoto, your iPad should appear in the sidebar under devices just like it does in iTunes, click on your iPad name and you will be able to import the Photos. Read this for more information.

  • ITunes 10.5, Creating iPod version of podcast makes iTunes not responsive

MacBook Pro (2.5 GHz Intel Core Duo with 4 GB RAM) running 10.6.8.  iTunes version 10.5.  After downloading a 71MB .mp4 podcast through subscription, when I attempt to make an iPod version of the podcast (Advanced > Create iPod or iPhone Version)  iTunes consistently hangs with the spinning beachball.  Activity Monitor shows that iTunes has become not responsive, and force quitting is the only solution.  In the /Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Podcasts folder is a zero KB .m4v file.  Curiously, everything works properly on a 10 year old iMac running 10.4.11 and iTunes 9.2.1.

Stephen Schulte2 wrote:Can anyone tell me if you are running iTunes 10.5 and using an iPod Touch 1st Gen running iOS 3.1.3 and able to sync contacts, addresses, get eMail etc.?  My Mac is a Mid-2010 MacBook Pro-13" running Snow Leopard 10.6.8---
I have a similar setup and after some initial problems, I can tell you that syncing now works for me.
    1st-gen iPod touch iOS 3.1.3
    iTunes 10.5
    Mac OS X 10.6.8
When I first upgraded to iTunes 10.5 and connected my iPod, iTunes didn't even recognize it in the sidebar and it didn't show that I had any backups for any devices. The iPod was recognized by iPhoto, so I knew it wasn't a problem with the cable or something like that.
So I took the advice in the other thread and downloaded the full iTunes installer. I deleted four com.apple.iTunes[xxx].plist files from ~/Library/Preferences/, ran the installer, repaired permissions, and rebooted. To my amazement, when I launched iTunes and plugged in my iPod, it and its previous backups were recognized, and a fresh backup and sync ran without any problems.

  • Itunes not backing up iphone 3GS

I am attempting to sync my phone with itunes, however the backup continuosly runs and never gets past Step 1 of 6. This only started since itunes was upgraded. I cannot upgrade the phone to 4.3.3 as I cannot get past Step 1. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
    Thanks.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if the problem has been resolved.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • Updating from 3GS to 4S - ITunes not backing up SMS and Contacts

I'm trying to restore from 3gs to new 4S.  I've backed up through ITunes but when I restore from the backup onto the 4S, it transfers everything from my old phone apart from My Contacts, Call History and SMS.  I've tried the restore three times and I've now used a third party app to check the back up from my 3GS and it's saying that there are no contacts, call history or SMS.  I've made sure that the boxes are checked for Contacts in Itunes (I don't know where (or If) there are any specific options for SMS or Call history) but still no luck.  All the files are still showing on my 3GS so I know they are there.  Any help on what's wrong would be very gratefully received!

Bumppp. Anyone know of a way to restore SMS independently after device wipe?

  • ITunes 10.5 very slow syncing with idevices not a backup issue

I have the latest itunes 10.5.2 installed on my 32 bit Windows 7 pc.  Ever since i upgraded my ipod 4 and iphone 4 to ios 5 it syncs very slowly with itunes (1 song aka 5 mb every 2 min and takes like 7 min to start syncing). i have tried restoring my phone and ipod with a new profile, making my ipod or iphone backup to icloud so that kills the long backup issue, reinstallled windows and just have itunes, reinstall itunes and wipeout the appledrivers then reinstall.  The devices sync fine when i use a mac that isnt mine. i also have tried outher windows pcs with no luck. im out of ideas and im tired of wating 4 hrs just for a audiobook or a movie to sync.

Yeah seriously, I have my first gen iPhone and never had a issue with it. Blackberry always had a horrible desktop manager for the PC for YEARS and I always had to debug the issues myself for clients. Unfortunately for a lot of my clients the Blackberry is a better device for business, just horrible desktop software.
Eventually I'll push my client to move over to hosted exchange server, But for right now before making that push, I need to resolve this issue with the Blackberry sync. I would hate for all the work and conversion over to the Mac to be wasted over a simple issue that possibly can be resolved by a simple setting I'm over looking.
It's also a possibility the extremely slow syncing can be caused by years of unorganized entering of contacts, but trying to sort out over 2000 contacts would be near impossible for a person with a busy schedule.

When i update my IOS7 i lost my all pic from my IPAD2 can anyone suggest how to get back those pic? and i don,t think so i did kept back up before i update ios7. can anyone help me for this issue?

The photo's in your camera roll would be in a backup, if you have one (iCloud or iTunes).  If you did not keep a backup somewhere, they are gone.  Sorry, but that is the way of any data - if you don't have a backup of it somewhere, there is nothing to restore it from.
All other photo's should be on your computer somewhere anyway - whereever you had them to sync to the device originally.

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod.... and follow the instructions.
I could not find anything on the link you provided that pertained to your problem,.

  • Unable to sync or backup my iPad2 with the new iTunes. I keep getting the error ""iTunes could not back up the iPad because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPad.". I've deleted all the old backups but still get this.

I'm totally frustrated by iTunes and don't know how to solve my problem. Like a lot of people on here I'm not able to sync or back up my iPad2 with my iTunes (version 10.4.1.10). I'm running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. My iTunes worked just fine until the 10.4.xx updates came out and since June I've not been able to back up or sync the iPad2.
When I connect and try to sync I get the error message, “iTunes could not back up the iPad because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPad.”
I've deleted all the old backups so there are none on my system. I've deleted iTunes and re-installed the 64bit version several times but it has not made any difference. I've read and followed several suggestions on these boards about how to remove and reinstall everything but none have worked yet. I'm stumped here.

I had the exact same thing with my shuffle - same error message saying that it was corrupt so I restored it (wiping everything in the process) and the same message came up as soon as it reloaded. Thank god I didn't try it with my iPod or iPhone first. So many issues with this new version of iTunes!!!!!!!!

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.I've never had this problem before... today I opened iTunes and it prompted me to download the newest version.  I use iTunes all the time and have updated it multiple times with no issues.  During the installation process it gave me an error message that said:
    Runtime error!
    Program C:\Program Files\iTunes.exe
    R0634
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I quit the installation, uninstalled iTunes and rebooted my computer.  I now receive a similar message with a slight difference:
    Runtime error!
    Program C:\Program Files (x86)...
    R0634
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I did not leave anything out from the error message.  It doesn't point to a specific file, it just ends with "(x86)..."  Every time I boot up my computer, this error message pops up on my desktop.
How do I repair this issue?  I have found multiple suggested solutions but am unsure which one is the best, and I don't want to try a bunch of different things for fear I may make the problem worse.  I would like to try and fix this myself if possible but I need to know if that is really possible or if I need to take my computer to someone for repairs.  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

    Hi lustyln,
I'm having a little trouble understanding all of what you are trying to explain. From what I can tell, it sounds like your PC has a lot of software problems and you want to know what is supposed to be there and what isn't.
For reference, here are your product specifications:

To get your PC software back to how it was when it was first purchased, run a system recovery:
