Backup location on Win 7 Platform?

I am fairly new to using Apple products but I now own an iPad 3. I am working with the newest version of iTunes and have reset the backup from iCloud to "this computer". Can anyone offer any insight into where the backups are being placed saved? Does this function relate in any way to location I established for the "iTunes Media folder location" which I set as E:\iTunes Media Folder? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your responses.

Location of Backup folder for different system as follows:
Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows 7
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

  • Multiple Backup Locations for Multiple Lightroom Databases

I currently work with two lightroom databases but when I back up the databases, the backups get stored in the same Lightroom Backups folder. The two backups are stored in separate sub-folders but the actual database files have the same name. Thus, the only way to know which backup is for which database if to note the times that the backups were created and use this to determine which backup applies to which database.
It would seem like the actual backup files could be named as per the associated database or the backup location could be specified for each database so that there is less chance for a mistake if a database needs to be restored.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dave Mayfield

    Thanks for your reply.
I need the have each LOS ( Location of sale or location of delivery) of Business Partner because we will deliver items for the LOS and not for BP.
As we also need to control (serial numbers) items & services ( field management) I also need to have the LOS as BP.
    As example:
BP name AAA have 30 LOS.
    BP AAA bought 2000 items.
BP AAA ask us to old theses items in warehouse.
BP AAA request to delivery a x quantity in LOS 1, 2,3,4,...
The invoice went to BP AAA, but the deliveries will be to each LOS of BP AAA.
As I said we need to have the field services working side-by-side with serials numbers and services for each LOS of our BP AAA.
So, we have subcustomers from big customer BP AAA.
Do we have any way of having all subcustomers(LOS) as BP, along with the real customer AAA?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Can we use SSD in D13 VMs as a backup location

    Team,
Any comment, as it is taking us 4-5 hours to take 80GB backup on storage space  on D13 VM. While looking to reduce this time, thought of using SSD as a backup location(underlying assumption that it has faster read/write speed although it is not recommended
    for keeping critical data).
Any further suggestion on taking reducing the backup/restore time other than the compression feature
    Regards

    Hi,
    Thanks for your post.
The SSD drive (D:\) is not persistent, so its contents and permissions will be lost if the VM moves to a different host. This can happen in case of a host failure or a VM resize operation.
Do not store your data or log files there. Use (persistent) drives from Azure Storage.
If using TempDB and/or Buffer Pool Extensions, SQL Server requires accessing the directory specified to store them. The following section describes how to store SQL Server TempDB and/or Buffer Pool Extensions on the SSD drive and automatically recreate
directory if the VM moves to a different host.
You could refer to this article for more detail information:

  • Starting weblogic cluster and admin server on Win 2000 platform

    Hi! Here's my problem scenario:
I'm running my WLS 8.1 application as WLS cluster on Win 2000 platform. I have
3 replicated WLS servers in my cluster and of course one WLS server as admin server
(4 WLS servers all together). I'm starting my WLS application using Win services
which behind a scene call win 2000 comand interpreter batch-file to start the
servers. Currently I have 4 different win 2000 services each calling different
batch-files to start a WLS server (4 all together). Here's my question:
Is there any way to start my cluster (3 managed WLS servers) and WLS admin server
from single win 2000 command file (using single win 2000 service). Using win 2000
AT-command interpreter command I can start executables and command(s) and command-files
at background at specific date and time, but I want to start my WLS application
on every win 2000 platform boot, is there any way to achieve this ???
    Best Regards!

    hi,
    Thanks for stepping up!
But I wasn't using any clustering or loadbalancing.
Just a simple Admin server, Managed server set up.
256 Meg, Pentium box running Win 2000 premium edition.
I tried tweeking around the heap size too.... coz' the operations were slogging

    hi,
I am looking at a strange behaviour with WLS6.0SP1 installed on WINDOWS2000 Premium.
I brought up the Admin server and a Managed server. After a while theAdmin Server
    is compeletely
losing the control of the managed server (for no reason).
when I tried monitoring the managed server from the console, I couldnot
    access
    the manager server
and the status down (red ball). I tried restarting the Admin Server
in the discover mode - NO LUCK.
But when I restart the Managed server and go to the Web Based Admin
Console and refresh, it worked. But I dont think we should be doingthat
    in a
    production environment.
Did anybody come across such a problem before ???
Is this a problem with Win 2000 ???
coz' it never happened with NT workstation
    thanks in advance

  • How to change backup location in suspend mode?

    Hello
I am trying to change the backup location in an image that is in suspend mode to different location into different deployment share.
I have tried modifying varialbles.dat in Minint so it will reflect the new location in new deployment share, but it did not work.
    Thanks

    The variables.dat was my suggestion.
I'm struggling to understand why you can't just restart the deployment.

  • Backup location during Duplicate db

    hi,
Is it possible to change the RMAN backup Location for the Auxillary db.
ie., say on my Target the bakup location is /u03/rman/backup
and on Auxillary host i copy the backup to /u01/rman backup
How to tell RMAN to look at different destination during DUPLICATE database.
also, I am NOT using recovery catalog.

OS? Database version? On 10g and higher use 'catalog backuppiece' to move the metadata information about backups to another location.

    Backup location in RMAN
Edited by: srp on Feb 6, 2012 1:15 PM

  • The backup location does specified does not contain any backup. Specify another backup location.

We have our server set to backup to an internal HDD (E:), and then copy all the files in E: to different locations for storage (a NAS for instance).  I scheduled a copy to a USB drive, but I can't get the recovery wizard to see the backup it now contains.
I choose "A backup stored in another location" and then "Remote shared folder", as the USB (G:) does not show up in Local drives.  I now need to enter a UNC (it won't accept the "G:\" path), so I shared the USB drive and
enter "\\SERVER\G\2014-09-23", which is the path to the parent of the WindowsImageBackup folder on the USB drive.  At this point I get the above error "The backup location does specified does not contain any backup"
All the files look to have copied OK, and have the same Date Modified as on the server: as far as I can tell it's identical, and yet it won't mount. Help?

    Hi,
I would like to confirm the exact backup process:
When creating the backup, are you choosing "local drives" and then "G:", or Remote shared folder and then \\server\g\folder?
If it is a network path, could you restore it with \\server\g\folder instead?

I run below command - rman > restore control file from '<backup location>';In you log file one of backup set contains of data files another backup set contains Controlfile + SPFILE(optional)
Or else you can check from source database
    RMAN> list backup of controlfile;
Note that backup piece according to date, and you can use that piece name to restore controlfile.

  • Windows 7 backup - recurring message after changing backup location

I backed up my Win7 Ult 64-bit pc using Windows backup to a location on my NAS ( \\NAS\Share Folder Old, say).
    Then I:
    - amended Windows backup to use a new location ( \\NAS\Share Folder New, say);
    - ran Windows 7 backup successfully (I think) to \\NAS\Share Folder New; and
    - deleted  \\NAS\Share Folder Old.
Now, whenever I start my pc, I get a message that it cannot connect to \\NAS\Share Folder Old.
No other program ever referred to \\NAS\Share Folder Old, it is not mapped to from my pc and it no longer appears (so far as I can see) anywhere in Windows Backup.
Can anyone suggest how I prevent Windows looking for \\NAS\Share Folder Old?
    Thanks,
    Alex

    Hi,
Can you give us the full error message?
Go to the following registry path:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsBackup\ScheduleParams\TargetDevice
Check the PresentableName  value, confirm it is the new backup location.

  • Steps to migrate database backup location to another disk ?

As the database is getting bigger and bigger, the existing disk for backup runs out of space.
We intend to replace it with another disk.
Just would like to seek your advice
    1) Do we need to stop SQL Server when we change the backup location ?  Most likely NO
    2) Should we change the backup location in Database Maintenance Plan before copying BAK / TRN files across disks ?
    3) Can I use the following command for copying files across disks ?
    ECHO OFF
    xcopy D:\Mybackup\*.* \\DestServer\D$\backup\ /S /Y /E /Q
    Thanks

Have you heard about backup compression. If you have SQL server 2008 enterprise you ca take advanatge of backup compression. I have used it and works well.If you have 2008 R2 standard and enterprise both can use backup compression.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb964719(v=sql.105).aspx
Below query will set backup compression for ALL backups on your system
    sp_configure 'show advanced options',1
    go
    reconfigure
    go
    sp_configure 'backup compression default',1
    go
    reconfigure
    go

  • Changing iTunes backup location to SAME hard drive

    Hi
I have an unusual problem.  As you are no doubt all aware iTunes will backup your iPhone or iPad automatically to the folder (windows users) c:\users\<username>\appdata etc etc.  You can change this to another physical drive using Junction which I have read up on.  Unfortunately in my case I actually need to relocate the backups to another location on the SAME hard drive and junction doesn't appear to let me do this.
The reason?  We have a client with 50-60 computers on a Windows Server network and utilise roaming profiles.  The default backup location means these iTunes backups automatically get uploaded to the server each time a user logs off placingstorage stress on the server as there are dozens of large (32 - 64Gb iPhones and iPads) with multiple backups for each user.  I would like to make a separate folder on each users C: drive on their workstation and instruct the iTunes backups to go there instead which will keep it out of the roaming profile.
    Anybody have any ideas?
    Regards,
    Brendon

What makes you think it doesn't work?
    CD C:\Test2
    MkLink /J C:\Test1 C:\Test2
works fine for me. Test1 is linked to Test2.
