Backup Media path details

Hi All,
Please any one suggest me on how to set the backup media path in sap while using DB13.
Regards,
Reddy V

Hi Reddy,
In that case you will use BRBACKUP to trigger your backups.
To call BRBACKUP from DB13, check the following link:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/df/455e24747111d6b25100508b6b8a93/frameset.htm
BRBACKUP uses a initialization file or a parameter file with the name init<DBSID>.sap
Check this link to know about init<DBSID>.sap

  • Media path

I have been working on a short test edit for a style I will be using in the long edit. The main footage was available already o the project drive then I imported audio and stills. I realize now I was not very organized with audio and stills basically I can't find them outside of FCP. I had been backing up the project file in various places but I realized that is no good if media is not found. So how do I trace the path from FCP to the file? Do I have to do this or what I have done with project file enough?
My next question...when I move to the big edit the external material I want to incorporate should be placed in the same places as on the main drive so if I have to move to a backup media will have no problem being reconnected. I assume that is right?

You could use media manager to consolidate the media to one place.  Or if it's a small amount of stuff you can't find, control-click something in the finder and select reveal in finder.

  • Change media path during installation of iTunes

    Hello,
I'm trying to re-package the software. This seems to work fine beside some "glitches". One of it is that the media path per default is set to "Music\iTunes" which is - in this environment - included in the roaming part of the profile. So I was asked to "shift" the media path to the local part of the profile (non-roaming). Excluding "Music" from roaming seems to be no option here.
Switching the location to another part of the profile gives me a headache as it's still "variable" (not like D:\iTunes or so). As far as I understood the path is stored in a file called "iTunes Library.itl" and this file seems to be not editable to me. Any idea how to 'tweak' the path into during the installation or may be during first startup of the program without user interaction?
    Kind regards
    János

The iTunes Library.itl file is the library itself. I believe the location of the active library is stored in:
    <AppData>\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunesPrefs.xml
under the key iTunes Library Location:1 however it is not stored in plain text so you may need to experiment a bit to find out whether you can simply copy over an existing iTunesPrefs.xml file that targets a fixed location like the root of a drive, e.g. D:\iTunes, as part of your distribution (yes, I note that you don't really want a fixed path) or if you can decipher the encoding scheme you could patch the xml file to a provide a customised path. Alternatively you ought to be able to reconfigure the user account such that <User's Music> is stored outside of the roaming profile before iTunes is installed. By default iTunes will create its initial library at <User's Music>\iTunes where it reads <User's Music> from the registry.
Note also that the iTunes library doesn't function properly if placed at the end of a folder redirection, although this can, and probably should, be used to relocate any MobileSync\Backup folder as these too can grow quite large and you probably don't want them as part of a roaming profile, or on an SSD startup drive.

  • Satellite L500D-13P backup media is not Win 7 64BIT version!

As I read in many posts here, an example:

    and
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=202946&#202946
    and
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=209400&#209400
and so on... The story was I received my laptop with no OS, so I used the 32Bit recovery disk included, now I would use the full 4GB ram and I wanted the 64bit recovery disk, so I ordered the backup media from the site mentioned on all posts here, and for 34,90 EUR (pretty expensive) they sent me the backup media, but is a 32Bit version... for 35 I think at least they would send me both versions not only the 32Bit (that I already have...) any suggestion?
    Laptop Satellite L500D-13P

    When I ordered:
    - No way to choose any version
    - No way to mention any extra detail
As the laptop is sold with Win7 64Bit and as I read on many posts here I was lead to believe they send 64Bit version or at least they will send both for that high price.
There's no phone/fax number or mail address in the package... only an address in Germany I woldn't print and send a letter there and hope someone will answer me, we are on digital era paper should be left for old pepole and lawyers, for 35 there should be a better servic, Microsoft has a better and cheaper support for backup media.

  • What is the content of Windows 8 Backup media DVD?

Does anyone know what is on the Window 8 Backup media DVD provided by Microsoft?

    Hi,
Seems that you've already created a installation media using the ISO for Windows 8, the media now has all necessary files to start Windows, you can start your PC from the DVD to repair the system.
According to your description, it also likes a power supply issue, so you can check your battery performance as well.

  • What would be convenient way to backup mass roles details from GRC ?

    Hello SCN folks,
For a GRC 10.1 environment where in, there are 100k plus roles maintained, what would be an ideal & convenient way to backup the roles details, periodically? Since the volume is high a direct export would result in timeout and huge overhead in the system.
Following is the generic steps to export one or multiple role details from GRC:
Access Management work center-> Role Management->Role maintenance screen -> Choose one or multiple roles as per search parameter, Landscapes -> Click on to "Role Details Export" -> Select all attributed to be exported -> Click on "Export"
    Regards,
    Suvonkar

    Hi Colleen,
To maintain a backup of all the changes made to the Role & profile attributes periodically in the large & dynamic SAP environment. And for backing up new roles & attributed getting added-up in GRC for provisioning & risk simulation.
Approver details changes: the backup also acts as a repository for reference for previous approvers.

  • How can I verify that backup media is workable?

    Dear Experts,
I do backup SQL backup on Hard Disk everyday, then use NT BACKUP to external TAPE DRIVE, report is showing no any error and completed backup, questions, how can I verify that backup media is workable?
    Best and Regards,
    wilson

    Hi Wilson,
In SQL Enterprise manager , there is an option to verify your backup .
You need to enable this verification by checkting the box. If this option is enabled , after taking the backup , it will go for the verification and give you the result .
If it is verified successful, it means, the backup has been written fine in the Tape/HDD , and it will be
    restored fine.
Even if this verify option is done, SAP reccomends to perform a test restoration of the backup to a test
system in order to make sure everything working fine .

i have copied the backup sets ( level 0 ) of my production db to development server. backup set path is not identical as production. so When i try to recover in dev server i am getting error file not found. ( not able to find the backup piece ) since it is point to production backup set path.
how do i set or update the RMAN database about my testing server backup set path so that during the recovery rman reads from new location on the development.

    thank you.
I am facing problem while restoring the database.
i trying to restore from level 0 backup which we take daily basis. when i use the below command and while restoring one of the datafile referring the old backup set which is not available. i have valid backup sets taken yesterday. but rman refers the backup sets taken on day before yesterday.

  • Creating aliases to backup media

    Hello all-
Is there an easy way to create aliases for a folder and all its contents (including nested folders and its contents)?
We are trying to devise a way to organize our backup disks. We want to have the availability to search the aliases of those backups via spotlight without having to physically load the backup media.
I'd like a searchable "database" (made of aliases that mirror the file directory of the backups temselves) that lives on my local hard drive. So doing a search in spotlight would point to a file that lives on "backup disk #4".
    Is this doable?
    thanks!

Another possibility is to use a programme to index
the removable media (backup CD's etc.) which is
searchable even when the media is not present. Once
    such is Media Indexer

Thanks so much for the tip. This comes close to what I would like to achieve although I wish the resulting index was searchable via finder (not necessarily via spotlight).

  • Iweb mp3 flash, media path problem

    Hi all,
So I've spent several days trying to understand how to get iweb and any mp3 flash player to work together. I really think I have things put together correctly cept it still says 'file not found' when I press play on the media player.
So this is what I've been doing.
I copy over the html code, paste it in to an html snippet, put the .swf player on the page. Now depending on what player I'm using, sometimes they ask for a media path and some not. I'll explain the different methods I've tried in a sec.
But here is where I think where the problem is. So I publish to mobile me, go to idisk>Web>Sites>MyWebPage and have put the mp3 in various different places after this point and nothing seems to work. I've tried
    idisk>Web>Sites>MyWebPage>song.mp3
    idisk>Web>Sites>song.mp3
    idisk>Web>Sites>MyWebPage>Media_files>song.mp3
    idisk>Web>Sites>MyWebPage>ThePage_Files>song.mp3
And I do this all after I've published to mobile me of course, but silly me I also have done before, republished and of course the mp3 isn't there anymore.
Now also depending on the player I'm trying I mess with the file path of the html code. trying both relative path:
    options.mediaPath = "song.mp3"
    and absolute path
    options.mediaPath = "https://public.me.com/mysite.com/song.mp3"
And I'm pretty sure I've tried all the combinations of all this different methods.
Any ideas? I've spent a lot of time really trying to solve this on my own but I do admit I'm still a newbie at iweb and flash, obviously.....
    Thanks guys and gals!

From the browser perspective an URL to any file on MobileMe starts with :
    http://web.me.com/MMeUsername/
So following your samples these are :
    http://web.me.com/MMeUsername/MyWebPage/song.mp3
    http://web.me.com/MMeUsername/song.mp3
    http://web.me.com/MMeUsername/MyWebPage/Media_files/song.mp3
    http://web.me.com/MMeUsername/MyWebPage/ThePage_Files/song.mp3
If you're using a Flash player, keep all your stuff OUTSIDE the folder iWeb creates and INSIDE the folder with your Flashplayer.
    The URL will be :
    http://web.me.com/MMeUsername/FlashplayerFolder/etcetera....
Then make it work. Once it does, display your player in a HTML Snippet with an <iframe>
    <iframe src="http://url.to.file.html" frameborder="0" width="500" height="500" scrolling="no" allowTransparency="true"></iframe>

  • Backup+ Media Issue

Starting about a month ago, several times a day, the app Backup+ Media pops up and says it's not working right.  I have to Force Close to make it go away.  I don't even use the app and I don't see any way to uninstall it.  I've cleared cache and data and it doesn't make a difference.  Any ideas??  Thx

Before you do the Factory Data Reset, I would try the Cache Partition Wipe. Very simple to do and will not force you to set your phone back up all over again. This will NOT impact any of your data or applications however it will remove any leftover code or temp files building up in there and make the phone run smoother. Many times you get issues like these because an old command is in the Cache and is being called instead of the new one.
Step 1: power your phone down
Step 2: hold volume up, down, and power simultaneously
Step 3: use the volume down to navigate to "recovery," use volume up to select
Step 4: you will get a screen with a triangle with an exclamation point, next to an Android. Press volume up and down simultaneously
Step 5: use the volume rocker to navigate to "wipe cache" and use the power button to select.
Step 6: after it has finished, use the volume rocker to navigate to "reboot system now" and use the power button to select.
    Step 7: say "TA-DAA!"

  • Need instructions for creating T61 XP backup media

Can you direct me to instructions for creating the backup media (DVD preferably) for the existing 4GB backup partition on my T61 running XP?  It is intact, and I can boot into it, but I'd sleep a little better if I had the option of booting from external media.  I'm aware of the advice to call and purchase this media, but I would prefer to just make it myself, if possible.
    Thanks!
Moderator Note; post moved to start new thread, subject edited.

I don't recall the step by step, but there is a menu item in the lenovo section you can use to burn recovery media from within windows. If I'm not mistaken, it can only be used once, however if someone already burned a set you can still restore from the harddrive and after restored you will again be able to burn one copy of recovery media.
However, I'll give you my own personal opinion on this. When you install from this recovery media you'll have an outdated operating system. The T61 recovery disc was made in 2006 or 2007 and after you install it you'll need to install the latest service pack, then you'll probably want to replace all the drivers and all the lenovo apps that are also outdated. You're going to end up replacing nearly everything, plus you're going ot have several redundant copies of all this outdated stuff taking up space. My preferred method is to use a windows setup disc that has the latest drivers and critical updates integrated, then go online and download the latest drivers for your hardware and as much or as little of the lenovo products that you want on your system. You then save an enormous amount of harddrive space and have a computer without all the bloat and it all gets done in a fraction of the time. The last time I installed from a factory restore disc set it took hours, then several hours more to replace everything with updated versions.

  • Reconnect with changed off-line media path

Hi.  I've had my catalogued images on a network drive for several years.  Recently had a major failure and re-built the drive, re-loaded from backup etc.
Unfortunately, since the overall requirements for the drive had changed over the years, when re-building I didn't re-create exactly the same folder tree as before.  While all my images are there (30,000+) and in the same relative tree as when they were catalogued, they are one level higher in the overall tree.  As a result, the catalog (PSE7) doesn't marry up with the path to the folders and Organizer displays a red 'off-line' media icon for every single image.  (None of the images is marked as needing to be re-connected since Organizer thinks the problem is the media being off-line rather than it being on-line but with a different path.)
With this many images, re-cataloguing the images isn't a realistic option.  What can I do to get Organizer to recognise the drive is not off-line media and that the images are all there but on a different path ?
    Thanks for any help.

To cut a long story short ... the original network drive was a Maxtor in RAID1.  When one of its HDD died, it instantly became unbootable.  Support told me there were no user replaceable drives inside and that as it was out of warranty to throw it away !   What's the point of RAID1 if you have to do that ?
Instead I downloaded hacked firmware and rebuilt with two new HDDs, then re-loaded from a USB back-up drive.  Had been running fine again since.  But its NAS functionality is limited compared to modern devices and I wasn't prepared to repeat the exercise when a HDD died again.  So I bought a new NAS, moved the HDDs into it, re-formatted, and re-loaded my Catalog from the USB drive again (ie. not from the re-built drive but from a backup taken before it failed).  Downtime for the whole thing was about a fortnight which I could cope with.  But the new NAS has different reserved share-names (as well as a different volume #) so I couldn't use the original names that are in the Catalog and anyway I wanted to split the data between more than one share to exploit the additional functionality.  So when re-loading I put the images into a folder tree starting at the share-name root rather than one level lower.  I expected to have to do a lot of "re-connect missing file" operations.
Instead I found that Organizer doesn't think they are disconnected, but off-line, so doesn't allow you to try re-connecting them.  Starting over with the missing tree level re-inserted isn't an option because I can't create the same root share-names on the new NAS anyway, and its volume # will still be different.  What looks to be needed is a way to get Organizer to accept the folders are online and allow me to re-connect the images, as if everything had happened on a local drive, not a network drive.
    Any ideas gratefully received.

  • External iTunes drive crashed, media paths now mixed up

I guess this is a pretty specific scenario but stil...
I moved all my iTunes media to an external drive after running low on space on my internal drive.
I set up time machine to back up the new external drive (to another dedicated Time Machine drive).
This external media drive crashed, I have bought a new replacement drive and managed to restore the data from the TM backups to the new drive (ended up doing it manually from the TM drive since TM crashed every time I tried it).
In the meantime while the drive was broken, iTunes have now started to save new and updated files to the internal drive again.
It has also updated the paths to all my old files (that used to be on the now crashed external drive) to point to my internal drive as well.
So my library is a mish-mash of working and non-working paths.
The external drive holds a lot of iTunes data (over 500Gb).
I dont want to start a brand new library since I have iphone + ipad synced to it.
Can someone please advice how to get back to a state where all my media is on the new external drive?
    OS X 10.6.8 + iTunes 11.0.4
    Thanks
    Matt

What happened all those times I was backing up?
We can't possibly know what happend or where your backups are. But you can indeed search all of your available hard disks and see if there are any files named *.LRCAT with recent dates.
By the way, I would be extremely wary of using that Lacie drive any more. If it was me, I'd replace it.

  • Extra Music Folder turns up unexpectedly in iTunes Media path

Everything will seem just fine and suddenly a new Music Folder will show up in the path of my iTune library. My iTunes library preferences path looks like this /volumes/music library +(an external hard drive)/music/itunes/itunes media/music...+it is at this point that all of my music folders show up in finder. However within this list of music folder another Music Folder will show and some titles or portions of titles are transferred under this sub Music Folder again located among the artist folders. I have gone and transferred these files back into the proper position under the original Artist Folder following the original Music Folder. Sometimes it is only one or two songs that gets moved and sometimes an entire album. The path remains the same under preferences. I think it may have something to do with iTunes organizing the files but I do not know how to correct this. Help!

I am totally confused. Once again an additional Music Folder has appeared in my iTunes Library path and some items have been transferred there. Again my path is /Volumes/Music Library/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music. At this point are the Artist Folders in alphabetical order. In the Artist Folders under the M's is again a folder Music and under that two Artist Folders, one Oscar Peterson which contains a single Album Folder (of which I have three OP albums) that contains 9 out of 10 songs. This is followed by a Doors folder containing a single album folder (of 6 albums I have) with a single song. In iTunes selecting that song and Get Info it shows the same path as above but with the extra /Music on the end. I am perplexed. I am dumbfounded as to the problem and what to do.
