  • Everytime I try to restore a backup on my iPhone 5 from iTunes the phone goes in DFU mode and stay stuck

i backed my phone up on itunes and then I changed the battery on my own. the problem is that I can set the phone as a new one but when I try to restore a backup it goes on DFU mode and stay stuck. What can I do?

Once you opened the device you voided any post-warranty support from Apple or the forum. You are on your own. You can try a 3rd party repair facility, but you cannot get any help here or from Apple.

  • Can I still retrieve my data in iPhone 4s stuck in DFU mode?

My iPhone 4s was suddenly ended in DFU loop. I already talked to Apple store and their only solution is to replace another new one for me. However, I still have a lot of information and photo in that phone which I didn't backup, so I hope I can retrieve the data using some softwares. Unforturnately nothing worked so far: Dr.Fone, TinyUmbrella, Recboot, etc. Here comes fundamental question: Can I still retrieve/access data in iPhone 4s that is stuck in DFU mode (with device ID: 0x1227)? If yes, which tool can help me?
    Thanks

    Tried DFU + redsn0w also.
In sum, i am in a mess. Please help.

I once again request the gurus in the community to help me. I need to extract my Phd work from Notability and Goodnotes. I would lose two months of work, if i cant. Request you all to please help or suggest any third party software to try the data recovery with.

    - Plug the device's USB cable into your computer only.
    - Hold down the device's Home button as you connect the USB cable to it.

  • I put my iPad into DFU mode without thinking much about it. I didn't realize I would lose everything. Is there a way to get everything back the way I used to have it before I tried recovering my iPad?

A couple of days ago my iPad died, so I plugged it in to charge. It went into a rebooting loop, and when I looked up how to fix this, I saw that I can put my iPad into DFU mode to fix certain things like this. I did, not thinking much about it because l had seen both of my parents get new phones and everything was slowly but surely on their phone the way it was on their old phones.
I thought that even though I agreed to the iPad being put back into factory settings, I thought I would be able to get everything back the way it used to be just by logging into iCloud when setting it up. I was wrong. This is a school iPad, so all of my notes are gone. The only things that were backed up were my photos. All the games, social media, etc. that I had downloaded prior were gone. Even my notes.
Is there a way I can get everything back to the way it used to be, or was agreeing to put the iPad back into factory settings the wrong thing to do? Was it a mistake to take it upon myself to fix my iPad in this restarting loop? I would really like to get everything back, especially my school notes.

The only way to get everything back is by restoring a backup. If you didn't have a backup, there is nothing that you can do to recover your lost documents and your notes. If you have a backup restore the backup in order to recover your data. Purchased apps can always be downloaded again as long as you use the same Apple ID that you bought them with, but data can only be recovered from a backup or if you have copies of the documents and notes on a computer.
Back up and restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support

  • Ios 7.0.4 battery issue and DFU mode restore

Hi guys. My iphone has an issue with its battery since i updated my iphone from ios 6.0.2 to 7.0.1 until now ios 7.0.4. I have tried many things, like turn off parallax, background app refresh, location service, mail to fetch, air drop, bluetooth, celular data, delete icloud back up from iphone, delete email acount, reset all setting, restore from back up, restore and set it as new phone, but all thoose things didn't help. Now I loose 1% for 3 minutes. Before thoose update i loose 1% about 6 minutes.
But i have been oberseving so far to know what is causing this issue. This morning i did the DFU mode restore, exatcly not recovery mode restore. After DFU restore completed, i watched every each percent of my battery begun increases to 4,30 minutes while using internet via safari. After that i restored again from my itunes backup, and the battery back to 1 % / 3 minutes while using safari with the same setting. This is first time my battery increases, and my first time i used the dfu mode restore. So far i always using itunes restore.
I guess there are something make the battery drained. I think that icloud data and email account causes this issue. But when i try delete manually my two email accounts and icloud data backup. My battery still 1% / 3 minutes.
So, are you guys have some experiences? Any ideas?
    Thanks before, regards from Indonesia

I'am sorry. I'am using ios 7.0.4 now. I forget to set it before i send that post

  • Iphone 3G- DFU mode Help

    Hello,
I have a Iphone 3g, I bought it about a year ago and have been very pleased with it until now. I was sitting in the car on my way to a hotel and noticed my iphone restarted, I let it do its thing and saw the apple logo, so I assumed that it was turning back on, so i went back to messing around on my new mabook. About 1 hour later I looked down and it was STILL on the loading screen with the apple logo. I have put it into recovery mode after about 2 hours of failing to restart it and make it work correctly.
Now like many of us, I have ALOT of important things on my phone: Contacts, My music( which i did backup but the computer that it was backed up on broke..), Applications, notes, and just everything in general. I would really like to avoid restoring it but I guess I am going to have to. Although I would just like to know if I can back up my iphone while its in restore mode, before restoring and erasing it..
    Thank you in advance,
    Jacob

Your iTunes library on your computer should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data - documents, photos, contact info, etc., which should be stored on an external drive or some other external media used for backup purposes only. If your computer's hard drive fails, you''ll have a backup to restore your most important data from, or it can be restored from the backup with a new computer.
There is no way to back up your iPhone while in recovery or DFU mode.

  • HELP!!! My iphone is stuck on the apple logo, I already did the process of putting it into DFU mode and reseted it on itunes and its still stuck!! What do I do now?

I need help!!! I dropped my iphone from the couch to the floor, really not a big fall... it automatically turned off and got stuck with the apple logo, I already did the reseting process on itunes using the DFU mode or however its called... and it erased all my data and now its still stuck!!!
Does anybody know what can I do?? Please help!

If the iPhone is recognized by iTunes, restore it. At the end of the restore process, when you're prompted to by iTunes, do not restore from backup. This will eliminate corrupted/damaged files as the issue.
If the issue persists, it looks like you may need to make a second trip to the Apple store.
    Good luck

  • IPad 2 unresponsive except DFU mode, iTunes won't restore

Let me preface: the steps to resolve the issue I have provided on the Apple website did not work, please do not suggest them.
Yesterday I received my replacement iPad 2 in a brand new sealed box after about a month of waiting and shipment issues.  Out of the box, it worked.  Plugged into itunes, restored from backup, registered, and then... dead.  Screen does not display anything for any reason and the device will not respond to anything except entering DFU mode while connected to iTunes.
    What I have tried:
    uninstall/reinstall iTunes 10.3.1
    switched USB cords and ports
    revert to iTunes 10.2.2
leave plugged into wall charger overnight
switched wall charger with known good charger and known good iphone charger
    downloaded differnet .ipsw files
    used two different computers
I am using an iPad 2 64gb 3GATT and MacBook Pro, all running latest software
After multiple attempts at all of the above, I have had no success getting the iPad to function.  The closest I get is to enter DFU and tell iTunes to restore.  After about 5 minutes, it says iPad cannot be restored (error 1601)[yes I've read the support articles, all of them, and tried everything].  The only other message I get is when trying to use an older .ipsw, to which iTunes says iPad is not eligible for this software, or something to the same effect.
If anyone has any suggestions as to what the problem might be, or knows a way to force a restore, preferably with a third party application, please let me know.  I am taking it to the Apple store to see the glorified support article readers this evening, but I really don't want to undergo another replacement process that will take another three weeks.
    Thanks

    Dear jaredfromsewanee,
I received my iPad 2 days ago, and I just went to try and restore my iPad 2. Same problem with me, its stuck on a black screen with no Apple logo. I also get error message 1601 trying to restore to 4.3.3 from 4.3.3. I'm worried my iPad may be 'bricked' and I don't have a receipt because I won this iPad from a competition..
Also I'm running a windows machine, with iTunes up to date and I'm stressing so bad and I hope I can still salvage this thing!! Goodluck mate!!

  • Why does my iPod touch automatically go out of DFU mode, and not stay in it until I turn it on?

I put my iPod touch 4g intoDFU mode, then after 10 minutes or so, it turns on with iBoot. I know that DFU mode bypasses iBoot. It automatically boots out from DFU mode. Please help me, because I want to restore it.

Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

    Firmware: 02.10.04

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad

    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug

    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.

  • Restore through DFU mode, lost content!

i restored my ipod through DFU mode, and lost all the apps, music, and all other content. I restored it through the previously synced version, and still no content. How do i get my apps back?

I understand. Thanks. Maybe I should rephrase my question.
I had come to the conclusion that I needed to do a restore of my iPod from a backup, since I was having a big problem. Since I was going to restore from the same backup, regardless of which method I chose, would more data from that same backup have been restored if I had chosen the "recovery mode" instead of "DFU"? I'm asking because it seems that once you get past the factory OS re-installation, the steps to restore from a backup seem to be the same, no matter which method you choose. So, would using "recovery" mode restore more data from a backup than "DFU" mode would? Like, would data be pulled from a backup any differently if I had chosen "recovery"? Thanks again, and sorry if I sound redundant.
