Backup Nike + calibration data

Is it possible to backup your Nike + data in case you have to do a ipod restore? I know that run data can be backed up on nike site but I am more concerned about calibration data. I just don't want to have to recalibrate after restore.

Huzler. I don't know, But you could try the following. I haven't calibrated my Nike+ so I cannot be sure what you will see, but here goes......
Enable your Nano for disk use. When it is mounted (on a Mac) open up the disk from the desktop and see if there are any files/folders that relate to Nike+ or Calibration....if so, copy them to your Mac and keep them safe. If you then need to restore, copy these files back.....it might work!!
If you are rnnung a Win box, after enabling disk use, in my computer loacte your Nano and from the view menu select Show Hidden Files & Folders. Then look for the Nike+ or Calibration files as mentioned above.
Good luck.
Please post back if this works, it will be helpful to others.

  • I want to read calibration data from a file

I have some calibration data from an experiment. There are 14 channels and the data is arranged in a spreadsheet 14 rows x 4 columns, where each column is a different constant from a best-fit equation of the form y = b1 + b2.x1 + b3.x2 + b4.x1.x2, per channel.
I need to get the data into labview so that I can use it during an experiment. Can anyone recommend the best way to do this? I've tried the 'read from spreadsheet file.vi' but can't get it to work. Any recommendations or example code? Or do you think it is better to use a text file?
    Thanks

They do. From the Help file:
Reads a specified number of lines or rows from a numeric text file beginning at
a specified character  ... can use this VI to read a spreadsheet file saved in text format.
Note: The underlining is my emphasis. Still, I understand what you're saying, and as I said, it's been poorly named from the beginning.

  • I'm having some difficulty with Time Machine.  It appears to be deleting backups from random dates on my external hard drive.  I am not deleting them.  Are they hidden and how do I prevent this from happening?  Can I retrieve them?

I'm having some difficulty with Time Machine.  It appears to be deleting backups from random dates on my external hard drive.  I am not deleting them.  Are they hidden and how do I prevent this from happening?  Can I retrieve them?

... I didn't know that Time Machine was more a last resort back up instead of main back up.
Don't rely upon Time Machine to the exclusion of all else. I compliment Time Machine with a periodic "clone". TM is much better than nothing, but it's a safety net, not a hammock
Here is my understanding of Time Machine's file deletion algorithm, distilled from Pondini's FAQ, Apple's KB articles, and my own observations.
Time Machine deletes ("thins") files from the backup disk as follows:
Hourly backups over 24 hours old, except the first backup of the day
Daily backups over 30 days old, except the first backup of the week
Older backups get deleted when Time Machine requires space and you deleted them from the source disk.
Therefore, assuming TM has been performing at least one backup per day, backup files will remain available:
at least thirty days, if they existed on your Mac for at least a day
until you run out of space, if they existed on your Mac for at least a week
In addition to the above, Time Machine always keeps one complete copy of your source disk so that the entire volume could be restored if necessary. Any files that remain on your source volume will be present on the TM backup, no matter how old they are.
If you are using 250 GB of space on your source disk, its Time Machine backups are likely to require at least twice that much. A good estimate of the minimum required backup volume size would be about three times the size of your source disk - 1.5 TB in your case.
A more thorough explanation would require Pondini since he has plumbed Time Machine's mysteries far more than I have.

  • Signal express custom calibration data, where is it?

I have a PXI 1042 rack with 4472 modules. I am using Signal exress 2011.
I have setup with custom scaling for the channels (so that I can log in engineering units rather than volts).
I have just replaced the disk and reinstalled everything. I have got everything working BUT...
When I try to open a previous Setup file it no comes up with an error stating it cant find the calibration values!
Is the custom scaling calibration data stored outside the Signal express setup file, if so where is it?
    Thanks
    mike

    Ok sorted.
Refitted old disc with previous system on it. Ran  Measurement and Explorer and then exported the configuration data.
Fitted new disk, imported configuratio data and all the scaling is restored.
Useful lesson, I had always thought the scaling was held in the TDMS files but its in the .nce files from the measurment and Explorer.

  • Calibration data in X Series EEPROM

[Thanks again to the NI engineers that have prepared the X Series support for the MHDDK. Your work is much appreciated!]
I've been reviewing the X Series DDK manual and example code to get a handle on how things work, and I have
a couple questions about the calibration data that's retrieved from the EEPROM via eepromHelper and how it is used.
    1) There are 4 AI "modes" containing 4 coefficients. What do these modes refer to? Do they have anything to do with different
ground reference modes (DIFF, RSE, NRSE)? I noticed that eepromHelper::getAIScalingCoefficients() only uses the coefficients
for the first mode (mode 0) to compute the scaling coefficients for a given voltage range. Is that OK no matter which ground
    reference mode my application employs?
    2) There is one AO "mode" containing the usual 4 coefficients. The eepromHelper reads in this mode as well as the different
voltage interval (gain, offset) pairs, but it doesn't use the mode coefficients to compute the scaling coefficients for a given
interval as is done for AI and as is implied in the DDK reference manual on p. 2-18. Instead, scaling coefficients are simply
the gain (C1) and offset (C0) for the chose voltage interval. Is the mode not relevant in the case of AO?
    Sincerely,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
The AI Modes do not correspond to different ground references, but rather just the configuration for the AI frontend. The EEPROM actually has more information than the device needs. Therefore, as you have mentioned only mode 0 is used, this is because the other modes are not used.
The AO mode also does not use all of the data in the EEPROM. In this case, unlike the third order polynomial fit that is used for AI, the AO is simply a linear fit. Therefore only the gain and offset are used.

  • How to recover DVD backup of user data

Under windows 7 home  premium  I did a backup of user data to 25 DVDs before restoring the original OS from the Restore partition.  Now I want to restore user data from the DVDs. I can not find anything under recovery and restore. but I did find a EXE called RecoveryMrg on the 1st DVD.  Clicking on it I get an hourglass when I put the cursor over the window of files on the dvd.
In another forum post it suggest this should take a while. Well it has been a couple of hours.
On the resource monitor DISK tab I do not see any activity to the DVD drive. (But I am not sure it should show op there)
Is this long time normal? Or is this the wrong way to restore the user files?

  • Keeping backups of application data and migrations to new ipod?

I'm planning to share an iPod Touch with my younger brother since I so rarely use it so I'm barely familiar with basic usage. I want him to have his own account separate from mine, but I would like to be able to backup his data and restore my data when the time comes. The iPod should either only have his data or mine, but obviously not both. I might even buy myself a new ipod touch or migrate to an iPhone.
    So the question is:
    a) Does backups take backup of application data such as save games and application settings?
    b) Can I restore all the applications, app data, game saves, music and video to another ipod touch/iphone in the future? i.e. migrate to another device?
    c) How do I backup the backup? i.e. if I keep this backup on my PC (Windows) and need to wipe the computer clean and re-install Windows. How do I retain the iTunes backup data?
    d) How do I perform the backup? Yeah, I literally used the iTunes application a dusin times at most, so have little clue how to operate it.
Please help, since I'm not familiar with my own iPod Touch!

  • PXI-4071 Calibration Date Update

Is there a process to have the internal Calibration Date update [using the Cal Executive software] without running the adjustment-reverify routines?

    Hi sbdata,
In general, unless an actual adjustment is performed, then the EEPROM is not written to and the calibration dates will remain the same. That said, if you open an external calibration and then close it, the calibrated date will be set to the current system time.

  • I broke the screen on my ipod touch 4th gen and im trying to do a backup on the data but it says i need to enter a passcode on my ipod but the screen dosent work so what can i do

hey i broke the screen on my ipod touch 4th Gen and im trying to do a backup on the data but it says I need to enter a passcode on my ipod but the screen dosent work so what can I do.

You can't backup the iPod t iTunes then. You will have to use an existing iTunes backup.
If iCloud backup is turned on and the iPod is still working (not disabled), the iPod will automatically backup daily if an internet connection is available and the iPod is connected to a charging source.

  • Veeam backup compared to Data Guard.

    Hello to all.
Our sysadmins are thinking about virtualization of Oracle servers to vmware and instead of Data Guard to use Veeam backup. Will it be optimal ? Some documents tell that OS snapshots, hardware replication etc. used on opened database can create inconsistent data.

    Hello;
You would be lucky if all you got with Veeam backup is inconsistent data.
Data Guard offers things a backup solution cannot :
Real Disaster Recovery since block are transferred via. a different mechanism, than the primary writes block.
Rolling Upgrade capability of OS (and special DB patches, not all).
Block corruption are automatically detected (and can even be automatically be resolved).
Read Only request and backup can be directed to the standby system to save system utilization on primary.
11.2 Active DataGuard will automatically do the RMAN block repair from the standby.
Has Oracle endorsed this backup solution?
Can your company tolerate ?? minutes of transactional data loss?
This would be my main push back.
    Best Regards
