Backup objects on BI Publisher 11.1.1.5

Hi guys,
I have a couple of questions. I'm new on BI Publisher environment so let me start. I have 3 environments of BI Publisher, Dev, QA and Prod. How can I copy or move objects like data models or reports and through different environments? For example If I want to move a set of data models and reports from Dev to QA how can I do this? And how can I make a backup of my objects?
Hope you guys can help me!
regards,

From the below example, I would say it is possible.

I am no BIP expert to figure out how, but one could safely infer "doable".

  • Flash Object has no Publisher or Version in IE11 in Windows 8.1

    Hello, I have been trying to get flash player to work, and have tried several avenues in Windows 8.1. I have tried enabling Shockwave Flash, tried disabling ActiveX Filtering, re-register the flash.ocx file, resetting IE11,  and disabling/re-enabling IE11. Nothing has provided any help with this, but what I believe to be the issue is that the shockwave flash object literally has no information attached to it. No publisher, no version number.
    Whenever I try to update internet explorer 8.1 64bit it says its up to date.
    Header 1
    Header 2
    Whenever I try to update internet explorer 8.1 64bit it says its up to date.
    Another adobe flash help page tells me I have flash preinstalled, and that it is just disabled.
    Basically this is all the conclusive information I've gathered. I am trying to find a way to update the flash object, but downloading flash player for windows 8 says I have it preinstalled, and I don't know whether deleting the flash.ocx file is a good idea. If anyone has had these issues or feels knowledgeable about what could be going on that needs to be fixed, please let me know. Thanks for any and all help.

    Hi Preston,
    Firstly, you don't want to delete flash.ocx.  Since Microsoft embeds Flash Player in IE, flash.ocx is locked and you can't delete it unless you mess with the permissions, and doing so will render you unable to resinstall IE to get Flash Player back, short of re-installing Windows (or resetting to factory settings, depending on the system you have).
    If you've performed all of the suggested troubleshooting steps and Flash content is still not displaying appropriately in IE, it could be that Microsoft is not identifying the browser as IE in the user agent string, which many websites use to determine which browser is in use and display the content based on the browser.  Microsoft is continuously modifying the user agent string for IE and websites need to adjust how they identify the browser based on other features, not the user agent string.  As a test, using IE, go to What's My User Agent? and post the results here.

  • Objects required when publishing inbound interface

    Hi
    We are publishing an inbound interface in SAP PI SR, and implementing proxy in ECC.
    What all objects do we need to create in PI.
    In ESR we will just need one inbound service interface, with request/response messages.
    - Do we need to have any other objects in ESR??
    - Do we need to create any objects in Integration Directory??
    One more thing, when publishing Outbound interface from Sender agreement, we will configure the end points, is it possible to configure endpoints when publishing inbound interface?

  • Why Does Adobe Captivate 8 Web Object Not Get Published Correctly

    Hi
    I am trying to insert a YouTube video in Adobe Captivate and publish it. While it previews fine, when i publish it as an SWF, i see just a blank frame.
    Can you help out here? Also, if I want to publish it as an PDF, will the video play there too?
    Warm Regards
    Akshay

    Hi Akshay,
    I am assuming the method you are using now is embedding Youtube videos into your Web object. My suggestion is it will be much easier if you use the Youtube Learning Interaction instead of a Web object to insert Youtube videos to your Captivate project.
    This can be found in the Interactions Toolbar -> Learning Interactions -> Youtube
    Also, as Sreekanth mentioned, please test it on a web server, or SCORM cloud.
    Youtube interaction will work when exported to PDF as well.

  • Use of OLE Objects with the Publisher tool

    Our company is trying to put user guides, screen shots, report examples, etc. on the BPMN diagrams that we are creating. I am wondering if anyone has figured out a good way to get multi-page documents to show up as icons which can be clicked from the Business Process Publisher web client. The normal OLE's work decently for users with BPA installed, but they are not hyperlinked in the Web Client. One option I tried was simply displaying the OLE not as an icon, but simply as it's own diagram in BPA, so it would be available that way, but the problem there is it only shows the first page, and it doesn't allow it to be linked to from an icon, it only uses the assignment icon. Any ideas? Best practices?
    -Chris

    HI Chris
    there are link attributes which let you browse and choose a file as link.
    when you create a web export, the files choosen as links for attributes are also exported on Business publisher.
    One of the three profiles you choose when doing a web export support files being copied on BP server

  • Business Objects Enterprise and publishing Access Database reports

    Hi,
    I have searched the forum but cannot find anything to help me so any help would be appreciated
    I have an access database on a shared drive that I want to publish a report for.
    On the BO server I created a system DSN to the database through a mapped drive.
    I use the publishing wizard to configure the report but I am getting the following error when I try and run the report:
    Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. Details: [Database Vendor Code: -1023 ]
    I have also gone in on the Business View Manager and created the connection and it connects successfully.
    I have successfully published Sybase and SQL reports but I just cannot get the connection to the Access Database to work.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sinead

    Try using UNC to point to the database.  In other words,
    servername\sharepoint.
    Also, make sure the service account of the server processing the report (I don't think you mentioned what type of report it was) is running under a domain user account that has access to the share (rather than the default local system).  You can set this in the CCM.

    Hi Sathya,
    Not sure what JMS implementation you are using so your customisation question is hard to answer . As for the work around:
    1) you needn't use ObjectMessage to move a serializable object. You could produce a byte[] and pass that through your transport.
    2) Do you really need to pass the whole object by value ? Can you not just pass the information you need to reconstruct the object at the remote end. You could use either Stream or Mapped messages to achieve this.

  • Object Message Publishing problem.

    I am creating an object message and publishing it.
    Inside the listener(in the onMessage Listener) when I try to access the object, like
    ((ObjectMessage)message).getObject();
    it gives me a Deserialize error and the linked exception is ClassNotFoundException.
    I am just creating a simple object implements serializable.
    I am using the webLogic jms provider and no matter where I set the classpath to simple object it gives me this exception.

    Yeah, I had that problem.
    It was giving a problem because it could'nt find the class during running, but while compiling it was finding it.
    So I created a batch file and set the class path to this object message class and it worked fine.
    And one more thing.
    You need to set the class path inside the providers execution command file.
    For example if it is webLogic that you're using then,
    you need to set the classpath to this class inside
    startWebLogic.cmd

  • How to publish a 3rd party webservice ?

    Hi Guys,
    I have a wsdl file of the 3rd party webservice and now i need to consume this service in ABAP on ECC 6.0.
    I am following the video presentation by Thomas Jung
    /people/thomas.jung/blog/2007/12/17/consuming-services-with-abap
    while doing so the service already exists in SOAMANAGER under services so that it will be aviable for consuming. How can i make my 3rd party WSDL to be available there. Do i need to publish my service ?
    any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated
    Thanks,
    Raj

    Hi Rajeev,
    I have consumed the the 3rd party WSDL and created the consumer proxy object with out publishing the service.
    I have tried to define the Logical Port for this proxy in the SOAMANAGER and when i have provided all the details of the URL and Login details for the WSDL access settings with the option HTTP access.
    I am getting the errros as below
    SRT Framework Exception: Error in WSDL access: Exception occured in communication Framework:
    Error in HTTP Framework:
    I have tried the same URL in the browser with the login details and i am able to access the WSDL but from different server.
    I am tryinng all these by logging into ECC 6.0 from the webgui on a different server. Do you think the actual ECC 6.0 server from where the request goes the might be blocked?
    any help or suggestions would be appreciated

  • How do you declare objects in the master database

    I am trying to register our CLR assembly as an unsafe assembly without having to make the database trustworthy.  Since making the database is_trustworthy_on = 1 is not a best practice, and would cause some of our customers (and our development process)
    a little bit of grief.
    I have read a ton about it but am still having trouble.
    The reason the assembly is 'Unsafe' is because it is calling the TimeZoneInfo class to convert between timezones, since we are not yet on UTC dates.  We plan to in the future but that's a big project.
    We are also not using the 'SQLCLR' but rather have written our own class library and just have a project reference to it, which works just the same, but we have found to be better for the C# programmers.
    I am playing with signing the assembly using an SNK file and have figured out what I need to do, including 1) creating a master key, 2) creating an asymmetric key using the same SNK file that signed the assembly, 3) creating a login for the asymmetric key,
    and 4) granting unsafe assembly to the login.
    When I do all that with straight SQL, it actually works!  But I am having trouble fitting this into our SSDT world.
    Should I create a separate SSDT project for items #1 through #4 above, and reference it, and check 'Include composite objects' in our publishing options?  As stated in this blog post though, I'm terrified of messing up the master database, and I'm not
    excited about the overhead of another project, a 2nd dacpac, etc.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ssdt/archive/2012/06/26/composite-projects-and-schema-compare.aspx
    Since we do use a common set of deployment options in a deployment tool we wrote, which does set the 'block on data loss' to false, and the 'drop objects not in source' to true, b/c we drop tables all the time during the course of refactoring, etc.
    I don't want to drop anything in master though, and I don't want to have to publish it separately if we didn't have to.
    I suppose I could just have some dynamic SQL in a pre-deployment script that takes care of the master database, but I was trying to do it the 'right' way, in a declarative style, but struggling.
    So, in short, what's the recommended approach for getting an 'unsafe' CLR assembly into an SSDT project?
    The error that started all this was:
    CREATE ASSEMBLY for assembly *** failed because assembly *** is not authorized for PERMISSION_SET = UNSAFE.
    The assembly is authorized when either of the following is true:
    the database owner (DBO) has UNSAFE ASSEMBLY permission and the database has the TRUSTWORTHY database property on;
    or
    the assembly is signed with a certificate or an asymmetric key that has a corresponding login with UNSAFE ASSEMBLY permission.
    Also, would a certificate be better than an asymmetric key?  I'm not entirely sure of the difference just yet to be honest.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

    After much fighting with this, figured something out as a workaround, and thought I'd share it.
    First, I'm pretty certain the SSDT declarative way for these master objects just doesn't work yet.
    My workaround was to make a pre-deployment script (that runs when we create new databases, as well as for the current release), that takes care of the security items needed to support a signed CLR assembly with unsafe permissions.
    One issue we were running into was when it came to creating the asymmetric key, there are 4 ways to do so, and we didn't want to depend on a hard-coded/absolute file path.  The 4 ways are "From file", "from external file", "from
    assembly", or "from provider".  I still don't 100% understand the from provider way, but ultimately we are actually using the from assembly way, with a little trick/hack I did that allows us to not have to use the 'from file' way and to
    reference a hard-coded path on someone's C:\ drive.  I really really didn't want to do that b/c we create local dev databases all the time and not everyone has the same paths setup.  Also, our databases are deployed on our servers as well as remote-hosted-customer
    servers, and up until now, the database release has not needed file system access.  Even the CLR itself is created using assembly_bits, which is awesome.
    So I thought of something...
    What if I had a simple/temporary assembly, which I create from assembly_bits, use to import the public key from, through the create asymmetric key from assembly command, and then drop as if it never existed?
    Well...it works!
    Here is my current prototype of a pre-deployment script, which I'll go through and cleanup more, but thought I'd share.  I also want to document how I created the temporary assembly_bits in case anyone ever wants or needs to know, even though they really
    shouldn't.  But it should make them feel better.  Basically I just created did this to get them:
    1 - Created a C# Class Library project in the solution.
    2 - Added our .SNK to that project and removed the 'Class1.cs' that it created by default
    3 - Signed that class library with the .SNK
    4 - Added a project reference to that class library from the main database solution.
    5 - Generated a deployment script (but didn't run it) and grabbed the create assembly statement (copy/paste)
    6 - Deleted the temporary project
    7 - Pasted the code I had copy/pasted into the pre-deployment script
    Note that the objects do apparently need to go into MASTER, so at the end of the pre deployment script, I switch back to the automatic [$(DatabaseName)] after first having done USE master.
    Hope this helps someone.  Finally got it!
    BTW - The other way we almost used was to introduce a SqlCmdVariable of $StrongNameKeyFilePath but that would have been a hassle for people to set whenever they got a new machine, etc.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

  • Creating publishing page in specific folder and with custom page layout using JSOM

    Hi!
    I have a site collection under my root, in which I have a page library with a folder inside. I want to create a publishing page inside the folder using JSOM. The API provides the following information on the three possible ways of how you can create a publishing
    page.
    PublishingPageInformation with all defaults.
    PublishingPageInformation.Name and PublishingPageInformation.PageLayoutListItem.
    PublishingPageInformation.Name, PublishingPageInformation.PageLayoutListItem and PublishingPageInformation.Folder.
    Source - SP.Publishing.PublishingPageInformation Properties (sp.publishing)
    Since I want to create the page in a specific folder in the page library, I have to go for the last option.
    I have a function call chain that look as follows:
    getLanguageID(webUrl, languageID)
    .then(function(resolveVal) {
    language = resolveVal;
    return checkPageExist();
    .then(getEditorialNewsFolderJSOM)
    .then(getAssociatedPageLayoutListItem)
    .then(addPublishingPage)
    The first two methods,
    getEditorialNewsFolderJSOM
    getAssociatedPageLayoutListItem
    fetches the required data as SP.Folder- and SP.ListItem-objects.
    The problem occurs when
    addPublishingPage
    is called. This method, in turns calls this function.
    var pageInfo = new SP.Publishing.PublishingPageInformation();
    pageInfo.set_name(publishPage.title);
    pageInfo.set_pageLayoutListItem(pageLayoutListItem);
    pageInfo.set_folder(editorialNewsFolder);
    pageCreationContext.newPage = pubWeb.addPublishingPage(pageInfo);
    clientContext.load(pageCreationContext.newPage);
    clientContext.executeQueryAsync(function() {
    publishPage.isPageCheckOut = true;
    resolve();
    }, function(error) {
    reject(precio.intranet.resource.errCreateContent_addPublishPage);
    The error happens when this function is called with the page information object.
    SP.Publishing.PublishingWeb.addPublishingPage(pageInformation)
    Error:
    Cannot read property '$2t_0' of undefined
    and it happens in SP.Runtime.js.
    I've tried this
    sample code from the MSDN-team, and added the pagelayout and folder properties, but it renders the same error.
    Creating a page directly in the page library with a blank SP.PublishingPageInformation object works perfectly fine!
    What could possibly be wrong? The error isn't something that I can debug myself since it happens in SP.Runtime.js, and the documentation for this is very sparse!
    Any help on how to resolve this issue would be helpful!

  • Camera publishing frame rate - slow

    Hello,
    We're creating a video chat app which will work across desktop, iOS and Android.
    Everything is working fine except that the published stream suffers from a low frame rate - averaging around 7fps.
    This is really annoying especially as the camera is capturing at approx 30fps.
    We're using a beefy server running Wowza or AMS but the issue seems to be on the publishing side in the Air app.
    Has anyone else experienced this or any one know of optimum settings to get that frame rate higher?
    It seems like it might be a bug with Air to be honest as I wouldn't have thought publishing would put that much strain on the CPU to reduce the frame rate that much.
    Thanks,
    Dave.

    Hi Chris,
    Sure, we used Scout and it showed the CPU was maxing out over 100%.
    When the app wasn't publishing over the NetStream then CPU usage was around 30%. Which in itself seems high when there wasn't anything else going on and no other apps in the background.
    This demo app we're using just displays the camera feed using a video object and then publish that feed directly to the streaming server. We've stripped out all other functionality while we address these video issues.
    I can ask my guys to provide more detail regarding the Scout reports on Monday morning. But, until then what kind of CPU usage would you expect this process to consume? We're exporting video using the H.264 profile.
    Doesn't the native camera utilise H.264 video and so other than encoding the audio to Speex I wouldn't have thought there's too much encoding/transcoding occurring? Just seems odd...
    Any advice or ideas much appreciated!
    Along these same lines...is there a reason why Air doesn't export/publish the video stream as H.264 and AAC since iOS already provides those? Is it a codec licensing issue? Just curious since Speex really isn't the best quality especially when we're going to be using this in a context where we'll be streaming live music events/gigs.
    Thanks,
    Dave.

  • BP Publisher problem - no models published

    I've got the Business Process Publisher running locally alongside my BP Architect, for the moment both using the Local database.
    As soon as I installed the Publisher it appeared in the Administration view of BPA as a Web Application Server. So I've been doing a few Web Exports from some Local databases that I have, but none of them contain any models.
    The user account that I created to log in has rights to Read the whole group (Main Group -- on down), and upon login to the web server is asked to choose a Profile (Easy Filter, etc.). No matter which is chosen all that can be viewed is the structure of the Main Group (the sub folders within it) but none of the Models or Objects within.
    I've used both IE 6 and Firefox to no avail.
    What might I be doing wrong, or where can I look for better and more thorough instructions than the online help?
    Thanks in advance.

    hi,
    objects in business publisher will not be viewed the way they are veiwed in architect i mean you cant view then in navigation frame, but yes, processes/models will surely be visible just the way you veiw them in architect. It is important that you choose the right filter and user group while viewing the publisher output.
    I think that filter that you choose in the "select profile" screen during login does not have your model type included. In case thats not the problem, then you might wanna check if you have given access rights (over the folder which contains your processes) to the user group in your database that you are selecting on the "select profile" screen.
    please revert back if still there is a problem

  • Business Object linked to application document

    hi All,
    Is there any standard tcode or way to find out a given business object is linked to what all application documents?
    Like for example i would like to know BO FIPP is linked or can be used for what all documents or tcodes??
    How can find out??
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Raj

    Hello Raj,
    this is indeed a sad thing, not having a control table that links transaction codes to objects or classes. The GOS-Integration (Generic Object Services) are implemented within each transaction and usually the business object types used there are hard coded.
    You can have a look at the where-used-list of ABAP class CL_GOS_MANAGER. You'll find an example here, include LMEORF1M at form routine  bus2053_object_publish.  There  you'll see the common way of how objects are used/published.
    Furthermore, the event creation/handling is also usually hard coded.
    Not all transactions that make use of business objects, also use the GOS. So you'll always get a part of this.
    You can also have a look at the where-used-list of Business Object Interface IFGOS.
    Best wishes
