Hi Shashikala,
While a database mirroring session is active, the mirror database is in a recovering state and it is not accessible. Thus as Ashwin’s post, backup and restore of the mirror database is not allowed. In addition, you need to note the following things:
•Backup of the principal database is allowed, but BACKUP LOG WITH NORECOVERY is not allowed.
•Restoring the principal database is not allowed.

Homogeneous System Copy - Installation of Database Instance not possible...

I try to create a SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 Portal based on a homogeneous SAP System Copy. Therefore I already installed in a first step (first option within SAPINST for installing a target system of a system copy) the Central Services Instance successfully on a machine. In the next step I'd like to create the Database Instance with SAPINST but I cannot choose the DB instance that I already created based on a restore within the new DB server (MS SQL 2008 Cluster installation). I can only choose the local machine for using a DB instance but there is no MS SQL Server installed!
Do I have to start SAPINST on the DB server itself which is not possible/allowed (due to operating/organization reasons)?
Is there any SAPINST parameter which I have to use for telling SAPINST that the DB is located on a different server?!?
The documentation just says:
The target system is installed using the exports from the source system.
Choose the installation services exactly in the order they appear. For more information, see the MS SQL Server installation guide for your SAP system at http://service.sap.com/installnw70.
On the SAPinst screen SAP SystemDatabase make sure to select Homogeneous System Copy (MS SQL Server-specific: Detach/Attach or Backup).

OK, SAP Note 1076022 says:
SAP installation packages on SAP Service Marketplace
On March 27, 2008, SAP released the Netweaver installation package SR3, which supports SQL Server 2008 (R2). Note 1152240 discusses the details and lists some restrictions. Make sure you carefully read Note 1152240 and use a recent enough installation master DVD.
SAP Note 1152240 says:
If you want to perform a system copy of an SAP system that is based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 on SQL Server 2008 (R2), you cannot use the Installation Master and Kernel DVD that you received from SAP or downloaded from SAP Service Marketplace (SMP). Instead, you have to do the following:
- Patch your runtime libraries as described in SAP note 684106
- Use a modified Installation Master DVD. For more information, see section "IV Creating a modified Installation Master DVD".
- Use a modified Kernel DVD. For more information about how to create a modified kernel DVD, see SAP note 1480785.
What problem is fixed by using the modified Installation Master DVD? Is it possible to install the DB part on a server apart of the local machine where SAPINST is run (my initial question/problem I want do resolve)?

I had a one on one with my apple rep yesterday. They backed up my camera roll from my iphone as well as my ipad on my computer as I was not able to backup to icloud due to lack of space.
They advised me to delete photos from my photo stream on my iphone and ipad and then do a back up.
I deleted the photos from photo stream on my iphone and ipad.
I was able to backup my iphone but NOT my ipad as it is saying that there is not enough room on icloud to do this back up.
Any solution?

Backup Mirroring Database or Recovering database

First, I apologize for posting this in two different palces. I have posted here but no response and I think this is a better place to post.
SQL Server 2012 - Windows 2008 R2.
Can you backup a mirroring database (Not the primary database but the one in mirroring partner) when it is in "suspend mirroring" state or "Disconnected" state or any other state ?. The idea is to backup the database on mirroring partner
before DR (Disaster Recovery) test (before putting the database online) then have the test be done than restore the database from the previous backup to continue with the mirroring without copying the primary database Full-Differential-TRN log backups again
from primary and establishing the mirroring again. Thanks for any input.

Can't use Availabilty groups due to the network setup. I am looking for a solution wher I don't have to copy large backup files (Full + Diff + TRN) after the DR test to re-establish the mirroring again.
Why would you have to take full and log backup again. No need to take diff backup at all. If mirroring fails when you try to configure it fist time try to find out reason why it failed you don't require to restore full backup again.

Removing password from mirror database user causes connection problems

Using Crystal Reports 2008, I have 2 Sybase databases connected to a single server, one is the original database used by my app, the other is a mirror that I want to run reports against.
If I add a new user to both databases, I can connect to the mirror via an OLE DB connection without a problem.
However, to prevent users from connecting to and running reports against the main database, I've changed the user so that they have a password in the mirror database, but not in the main database.
The problem is, after making this change, when I try to connect to the mirror database I get an "Invalid user ID or password" error.
I can connect to the mirror database as this user from other applications, it only seems to be Crystal Reports that has the problem.
Is this a bug, or am I doing something stupid?! Any help greatly appreciated!

Problem with smart Playlist after Upadte to 10.6 - PLEASE UPDATE SOON, Backup not possible

Is it so difficult to let things, that are quite good, just there where they are??
After updating my iTunes, OS Lion and some other stuff 2 days ago, I have now a big problem with a smart Playlist in iTunes 10.6. Before updating all things was right.
The problem: Now, AFTER UPDATE, my Playlist ist totally empty!
Before they were over 2000 songs in it.
And because this is my major-smart-Playlist, which is established to my whole other Smart-Playlists, the other ones are also empty.
And this is not the first time Apple.
It´s good, if you - apple guys - just added something like new categories to sort of music (like "iCloud-Status" or some others).
BUT WHAT DID YOU THINK, WHEN YOU DELETED THE OPTION "VALUATION" - mh??? (I hope in english this is the word that used in Itunes - my iTunes is in German)
So I don´t mean the "lines" - I don´t know the right english word - when you see the music. There you can fade in "Album-Valuation" - new - AND "Valuation" - old.
But I mean in the options of the smart-playlists - THERE ARE ONLY "Album-Valuation"!!!!! What the heck....
EVERYONE NEEDS THE NORMAL Song-"Valuation" - and not the album (because normaly you decide by each track how good he is and not by the whole album).
You can let the Album ones in it, BUT PLEASE BRING THE NORMAL ONE BACK.
So, in my case, I tried to go back to iTunes 10.5.3 with my nice Time-Machine-Backup. So, but I couldn´t because there came a bug-message that said something like "It is not possible because OSX need the Programm".
What is that?
I also couldn´t delete the iTunes app from my app-folder.
So, and now?
I had to totally restore my volume !
What is that for a solution?!
So please think before you delete any functions, who is needed by many people.
And if you did, maybe ask some users, that uses for example smart-playlists alot, if there is a problem about some changes, you want to add.
I hope anyone from Apple read this and also answer me. Because I´m upset about that.
In every iTunes-Update I am concerned about what will be after the update.
For example in the past, there was more than one changes in iTunes with the Valuation. First, there was just whole stars to set for every song. Than, after a long time, Apple decided to give the options for also half stars. So I said to myself - hey that´s great, that I don´t have to use external apps anymore to set these. So I did this to many of my songs (and that´s many).
Than - after an Update - wow, all half stars rating are gone ! Great Apple, really great.
I was VERY upset.
So after an other update, the opportunity to give half stars are back.
I thought, my god, it is so difficult to talk with other guys, that worked before on iTunes if I am new or just to look if there was already a change in that part of the app???
So, apple guys, please don´t think that I want to attack you. But please be more carefull in the future. I hope that I don´t have to worry too much about so stuff. I really have better things to do with my time.

has anyone else had the problem that after the Lion upgrade its not possible to even really access your external time machine?
i have a 1TB Samsung HD103SI Media and when it tries to boot up it wont show in finder, i can see it in the disk drive utility and try to repair it but it only gets me an error saying i have to reformat that drive?
i hope this can somehow be fixed otherwise all my backups are gone

No one from Apple here - we're just users like you. All I can tell you is that electronic fail and with MacBook Pros (and most notebooks) the components are so integrated as to make a repair to the logic board practically impossible, hence the high prices charged for repairs.
Only you can decide if you want to have your computer repaired or put the money towards the purchase of a new computer. If you do decide to purchase a new unit I would suggest that you also purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan which increases your warranty from one year to three years.

We were able to connect to oracle database thru JDBC adapter previously. To connect to SQL server , we have installed JDBC drivers for Microsoft SQL Server 2000 in same XI server. Now, we are able to connect to SQL server table but not able to connect to Oracle table . When change the CC and give the Oracle driver and Connection string, it throws an error 'SAPClassnotFoundException'.
So, Is it not possible to connect to different database in same XI system ?

1) Verify the DB URL by connecting database using Command line SQL plus or any SQL editor.
2) Check wether the Drivers deployed are supported for the Oracle Db version and JDK version on XI server and OS type ( Solaris )

SAPClassNotFoundException: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver' --> This error clearly implies that the OracleDriver has not been installed on your XI server.
Ask you admin team to do the needful and install the Oracle Drivers.

Error in Database Studio: Connect to user management database not possible

Hello,
Everytime I start the Database Studio 7.9 (the latest version 7.9.08.18) it show me the following error:
Could not access to user management
See Window -> Show View -> Event Log Viewer for more details
In Event Log Viewer I see the following information/errors/warnings:
Connect to user management database not possible. Try to use/create local default user management
Undefined result row
This error always appears in anything I do in the Database Studio application!
How can I correct this error? Can you help me please?
Any tips?

Hi,
Make sure that there is proper access for this file at the OS level. Normally, when you are changing any profile at SAP level it will try to create a backup of existing file at OS level. Also, check if the parameter is set correctly and saved properly.
If you are not able to change the file at SAP from RZ10 then change the same at OS level and after that restart the instance for parameter to take effect. After the system is restarted then again the load the profiles back in to the system using RZ10-->Utilities->Import profile->of active servers

Database is not integrated; upgrade not possible

I am trying to upgrade a 2005B database to SAP 8.8 version using the PL04 Upgrade.exe. One of the steps makes a previous test for Upgrade and show me a message error: " Database is not integrated; upgrade not possible" for the components "Common-Database, Add-ons and Help".
Does anybody knows how I can solve this issues?

Mistake 5000 Backup not possible

When I sync my IPad 2 it appears a message: Backup was not possible because the computer couldn't save the Backup. The problem started when I updated Itunes to Version 10.5 and when I tried to update my IPad 2 to IOS 5.0. I had to stop the update and now I don't dare to do it in case I would lose all my APPs and other data on the IPad.

Is my HD dying?

Not Possible Create Database Connection to Essbase From Web Analysis Studio

It is not possible to create a database connection to Essbase cluster from Web Analysis (WA) Studio. The following error message is displayed:
"Unable to retrieve the list of available databases"
And the detail:
[1033] Native: 1003 Error: Create connection failed [For input string:
[ApsServer=, OlapServer=[HOST];]]
Foundation Services, Agent, Financial Reporting and Web Analysis are enabled.
As additional information from EAS can seamlessly connect to Essbase server.
The EPM version is 11.1.2.2

Hi ,
For creating a WebAnalysis database connection, please make sure you do the following :
1. Verify if you have Essbase client installed on the WebAnalysis server.
2. Check if the path of adm drivers are mentioned in the system environment variable -> PATH entries.
3. Try giving the Essbase server name instead of the cluster name when attempting to create a connection.
4. The error 1003 means it doesnt seem to create a connection with the server and while attempting it fails.
Make sure you have all the parameters mentioned correctly in the server details.
To get detailed information on what is causing the problem, make sure you stop the WebAnalysis service and start it from console .

Why is it not possible to use airplay mirroring on earlier macbook pro models with Mountain Lion?

I know there are questions alike mine, but if anybody knows some new information on this, please let us know.
I've been looking forward to this release of the OSX, especially the built in AirPlay mirroring function for the Mac Pro, which I've been missing ever since I bought the Apple TV.
Now finally when I went to download Mountain Lion, I accidentally search google, and find out that AirPlay mirroring is only supported on early 2011 Mac Pro and later?
What are the earlier users going to do? I have an early 2009 model of the Mac Pro, and I just wan't to know if I'll be able to utilize the new AirPlay mirroring function or not, which determines whether or not I'm going to upgrade my OSX version
Hope someone's got news on this one.
