Backup of solution manger system on DB2 and windows.

Hello Gurus,
I am new to this DB2 database. I have newly installed the Solution Manager 7.0 on windows 64 bit EE and DB2 V9.5 UDB. I am not able to take full backup by choosing the action 'Database Backup to Device'. I am also confused for what value to be entered for Number of Buffers,Buffer Size,Parallelism,Priority in Action details. I am getting the following error in Action log tab.

You are cyclically overwriting your log - that´s why you can´t do an online backup. To change that, you have to configure logging properly and then do an offline backup first. After that you can do online backups (also see https://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v9r5/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.db2.luw.messages.sql.doc/doc/msql02413n.html)
To get an idea what you need to do configure check the guide

  • Error in editing object: Error in RFC to Solution Manger System

    Hi All,
Our System release is ERP 6.0 EhP4 and our DB is Oracle.
When we try to create or edit any object (eg: Function module, package, function group, tables) in our system and save it in a local workbench request, we are getting an error which states:  Error in editing object: Error in RFC SM_<SID>CLNT<Client>_BACK to Solution Manger System.
Though we have deleted the RFC SM_<SID>CLNT<Client>_BACK, we still get the same error when we try to edit an object and save it in a workbench request. But when we save all these in a local object instead of a package we do not get any error.
Can any one please suggest some solution for this?? As we are held up in some critical activity.
    Regards,
    Yamini.

    Hi,
Not sure - but maybe a cross system lock seems to exist. Perhaps you can check this:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_em70/helpdata/en/43/7227481a856fcae10000000a1553f6/content.htm
Or else create the Back RFC to SolMan and check how it proceeds.

  • Comparison of Installing HCM and Campus Solution 9.0 with Linux and Windows

    Folks,
Hello. I am installing HCM and Campus Solution 9.0 Revision 5 with PeopleTools 8.53.
PeopleSoft Internet Architecture is WebLogic11g/Tuxedo11g/OracleDatabase11g with OS Oracle Linux 5.10.
In the process of seting up its database instance named "HRCS90" using /opt/PT8.53/setup/PsMpDbInstall/setup.sh, there is a step as below:
    Database Create Type:
    1) Demo
    2) System
    3) PeopleTools System
Either select Demo or System, the next step "select PeopleSoft Applications" has only one item:
    1) PeopleSoft HRCS Demo Database - US English.
When set up "HRCS90" with SQL Server 2005 and Windows Server 2003, there is one more item: PeopleSoft HRCS Database - US English.
I don't need Demo database. I need HRCS database only because Demo database occupies much more disk space.
The document "PeopleSoft Human Capital Management and Campus Solutions 9.0 Revision 5 Installation Guide" does not state the detailed process to set up HRCS database instance.
I cannot find other PeopleSoft documents regarding set up HRCS database instance.
    My questions are:
First, how much more disk space does "HRCS Demo database" occupy than "HRCS database" ? Is there "HRCS database" for Linux and Oracle Database ?
Second, can you find PeopleSoft document regarding the process of seting up HRCS 9.0  database instance with Linux and Oracle Database ?
    Thanks.

It could come from how you installed the software itself (options checked). Have a look to that thread, it could help.
    Nicolas.

  • System.exit(VALUE) and Windows 98?

Has anyone got System.exit(integer) to return a value other than 0 under Windows 98?
Regardless of what integer I enter as an exit code, java.exe always seems to return 0. This does not seem to be the case under Windows NT, where the correct exit code is passed back.
Is anyone aware of this problem/found a workaround?

I found the same behaviour of Java between NT 4.0 SP 4 and Windows 98.
Are you sure you get the exit code right in the dos box?
%ERRORLEVEL% is NT specific, I think.
In normal DOS you can only ask e.g.:
    if ERRORLEVEL 3 goto three
and this will jump to label
    :three
if the exit code is >= 3 !!!
Test your program by this bat file:
    java ...
    if %errorlevel 6 goto x6
    if %errorlevel 5 goto x5
    if %errorlevel 4 goto x4
    if %errorlevel 3 goto x3
    if %errorlevel 2 goto x2
    if %errorlevel 1 goto x1
    goto x0
    :x0
    echo was: 0
    goto end
    :x1
    echo was: 1
    goto end
    :x2
    echo was: 2
    goto end
    :x3
    echo was: 3
    goto end
    :x4
    echo was: 4
    goto end
    :x5
    echo was: 5
    goto end
    :x6
    echo was: 6
    goto end
    :end
    echo End.
    You see:
7 or higher goes also to :x6

  • Using iPod classic on two systems: OS X and Windows

I've bought my first iPod, a 160 gb classic. Now I would prefer to use this device on my Mac, but also on my pc. It works fine with OS X, but Windows (XP SP 2) can't use/enter it now. Do I need te reformat my iPod drive to use it on both systems. Are there any other solutions?
(I'v installed the latest updates for the iPod and iTunes as well)

*Do I need te reformat my iPod drive to use it on both systems.*
Yes that is one solution. Macs can read Windows drives so you could restore and format the iPod on a PC. iTunes will allow you to use an iPod formatted for Windows on a Mac. I've no experience of the iPhone or the Touch but Apple has until now only fully supported using the iPod shuffle in FAT32 format on Mac. in other words all future software updates for the iPod would have to be carried out in Windows to maintain the formatting. If your iPod is formatted for Mac it won't run natively on a PC because Windows operating systems don't recognize Mac OS-formatted disks (HFS or HFS Plus formats).
    *Are there any other solutions?*
Yes there are third party programs that will allow you to use a Mac formatted iPod on Windows though to be completely sure they will work with the latest iPods you need to check out their web pages. XPlay and MacDrive for instance get good reviews. XPlay is an iPod specific program and can be used as an iTunes alternative, MacDrive is more general and lets you access various types of Mac formatted drives on Windows such as CDs, DVDs, hard drives etc:

  • How to set-up a wireless system for Mac and Windows?

In a few weeks I will visit my brother in Tennessee, USA who has a cable modem (very good speed - "Comcast") connected to one desktop PC (Windows XP I believe).
I want to spend 2-3 weeks at his home using my MacBook core duo (May 2006 version) via wireless-- and what is the BEST way to install a wireless internet access for my brother that I can use for the 3 week visit? NOTE: After I leave, this has to work for him wireless with his PC's - not Macintoshes. But I want to have the flexibility to be in several rooms of his long (but single story) home during my stay.
Can I use an AirPort Extreme Base Station "n" and if so, will my MacBook work with this at maximum download / upload speed (i.e. equivalent to the cable) - and will my brother's PC's also be able to connect? Or is there another Airport base station?
OR-- should I head down to "Generic Computer Store" and just by a wireless router (WiFi)(think that's what they call them) and connect this to his cable modem? IF SO WILL THAT WORK FOR MY MAC?
Thanks for any comments or references here -
    Regards,
    Steve

Can I use an AirPort Extreme Base Station "n"
    Yes.
and if so, will my MacBook work with this at maximum download / upload speed (i.e. equivalent to the cable)
The speed of your internal network generally is much much faster than the speed of your internet connection. Unless he has an internet connection faster than approx 6Mbps then even dropping down to the old 802.11b Airport would not seen any decrease in speed of downloads etc...
and will my brother's PC's also be able to connect?
If his PC is 802.11b/g-compliant, it shouldn't have any problems connecting to the AirPort base station.
Or is there another Airport base station?
The other AirPorts would work, but the AirPort Express & older 802.11g AirPort Extreme base stations have a max. range of 150 feet.
OR-- should I head down to "Generic Computer Store" and just by a wireless router (WiFi)(think that's what they call them) and connect this to his cable modem? IF SO WILL THAT WORK FOR MY MAC?
That is always an option as well, especially since he will be the primary user throughout the year. I'd suggest going with a brand name, like Belkin, D-Link, or Linksys for the wireless router choice.

  • Labview Full Developement System 8.2 on Windows 7

    Hi there,
I have a question about the compatibility of Labview Full Developement System 8.2 and Windows 7.
Is it possible to run this system without problems on a PC that is using Windows 7?
I am also using the Labview DSC module (version 8.2.1).
I'm just wondering if I will get problems when I am going to run programs that I made, in Windows 7.
Or is there a new version of Labview that is compatible with Windows 7?
If so, is it possible to use older versions of Labview in this new version (bij transfering the files).
I hope to hear soon from some of you.
    Regards,
    Kenny

LabVIEW 2009 is the first LabVIEW version officially compatible with Windows 7 (see also)
Quote: Starting with 6.0.2, LabVIEW should run on newer, unlisted versions of Windows without error messages, but these are not officially supported.
(However, I was able to run LabVIEW 8.2 just fine under windows 7 64 bit. I don't know if there are potential DSC issues. Another option is the windows XP compatibility mode virtual PC available for some version of Windows 7).
LabVIEW 2009 and 2010 are fully compatible with Windows 7. You should be able to open your LabVIEW 8.2 files fin in any newer version. For details, have a look at the LabVIEW version compatibility matrix.

  • Oracle 10g XE and Windows Vista

I bought a laptop with an excitement; and installed oracle 10g XE, now I can't run the oracle on this Windows Vista? Any guidance and suggestion would be much appreciated.
I couldn't dare to install linux fedora on this laptop which has Windows Vista for a dual boot sytem because I read all negative things in google about the dual bootying system of fedora and windows vista. Any suggestion and guidance would be one again would be very much appreciated.
    [email protected]

I have a problem with Oracle XE installed on my laptop 1GB RAM with Windows Vista :).
It installed ok, but when I run my program (Visual Foxpro 9) it stays 30 seconds up to a minute to make a few selections.
The same program on my laptop works fine with other databases installed on windows xp or windows 2003 server.
Also, from other computers I can connect to Oracle XE on Windows Vista and make those selections fine.
I uninstalled Oracle XE from my laptop.
I downloaded Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.3) Enterprise/Standard Edition for Microsoft Windows Vista and I installed it.
    It's the same problem.
On my laptop, my program (VFP9 - connects through ODBC) or PLSQL Developer freeze when I do a select from a table with 72053 rows (the result has 2000 rows).
If I connect from another computer, where I installed Oracle Instant Client from Oracle Database 10g Client Release 2 (10.2.0.3) for Vista, the select runs instantaneously :)
My head hurts very much at this time.
We bought the laptop with Vista OEM for presentations :) - it's unusable at this point :)

  • Best Solution for Backup of Dual System(Mac & Win7) and Data Partition

I need a professional solution of backup my dual-system, which are Mac OS Mavericks and Windows 7, and a Data Paritition.
Right now, I have three partitions: Bootcamp (for Win 7 system, NTFS), DATA (for both system files, FAT32), Macintosh HD (for mac os system, HFS).
Before on PC machine, I may restore the system with Ghost Tool, but since now I am using Macbook Pro. Cannot do that way any more I think.
Also, the annoying thing is DATA partition, if I make it a FAT32 format, some large files cannot be copied into, but if I make it a NTFS, Mac OS cannot regonize it, right?
What about using exFAT format? Never use that before, actually. I heard that format can accept large files and also be regonized by Mac OS.
To sum up, two advices needed. 1. Win 7 partition backup and restore w/o breaking Mac OS system; 2. DATA partition format for both system.
Thanks a lot. I appreciate your help!

Also, the annoying thing is DATA partition, if I make it a FAT32 format, some large files cannot be copied into, but if I make it a NTFS, Mac OS cannot regonize it, right?
    Use exFAT instead of FAT32.
