  • ALLOnl+LOG Backup via DB13 failed

    Hi!
    I have planned each week a ALL Online Backup with LOG.
    When the action has been performed the backup failed and I get the following error:

    BR0602W No valid SAP license found - please contact SAP
    I checked via tcode SLICENSE and detected that a valid SAP license exist.
    Question:
    How can I solve this problem?
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Holger

    Hello Holger,
    before you can perform a backup the BR*Tools are checking the valid licenses. The PUBLIC synonym SAP_SAPLIKEY is used for that.
    Your user that is performing this action is not allowed to query the PUBLIC synonym (and the corresponding base table). This can have different reasons (wrong synonym, sapconn or sapdba role script was not executed, etc.).
    Normally the BR*Tools are run under <SID>adm, if you schedule the backup via DB13. So please check all these stuff (#1028220, #834917, #480266).
    I also have investigated a topic like that with another user in the forum... please also check this thread:

  • Backups/Archivelogs triggered via DB13 hitting errors at TSM(Tivoli) level.

    We are encountering problem with our redolog/online backups that are triggered
    via DB13 whereby we will
    receive this error message in the logs before a failure message:
    BKI5014E: Tivoli Storage Manager Error:
    ANS1087E (RC106) Access to the specified file or directory is denied
    We have checked with the OS side and it seems that the permissions for
    all the accesses are fine. However, when we tried to manually enter the
    BRARCHIVE/BRBACKUP command in the OS (AIX) the thing seems to work fine. Although we can trigger it manually in the OS, but we cannot track it through
    DB13, or even schedule it, as it will continue to hit the said access error.
    Thanks.

    Dear Kelvin,
    Please reply whether you were able to solve the issue of scheduling a backup from DB13 in SAP?
    We are also facing the same issue, we are able to take the backup from BRTOOLS in TSM.
    We tried changing the permissions of BRTOOLS utilities from /sapmnt/SID/exe path. Even then the backup fails with the same message, please find below the logs.

  • Backup problem of Oracle XE

    Hi,
    Greetings.
    OS: windows XP
    DB: Oracle 10g xe
    I wanted to backup the xe database.
    Firstly, I chose the simplest way according to the 2day DBA, clicking the "*backup database*" menu item.
    But I only got a popup dialog, showing messages like "*The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.*"
    I failed to solve this problem and the program terminated always.
    So, if someone has any idea about this, please help me. I really want to use this simplest way.
    Then, I had to use the backup.bat script in D:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\BIN from a cmd.exe window.
    This time, I got error message below.
    As I am a newbie of Oracle Db, I am really confused by the errors.

    I am really confused by the errorsYes that is understandable, for first timers in oracle the environment can be intimidating, its not easy interpreting the errors and knowing what the system is trying to tell you.
    The rman backup utility pretty much works "out of the box" with defaults for most everything. And the XE installs a database, its "out of the box" defaults are noarchivelog mode, and changing that is easy (well, after its done it seems that way ;) )
    First off, looks like the database wasn't running when the backup started, note the "connected to target database: XE (DBID=2604187256, *not open*)". Check the services applet and see if the database service is running- a shortcut to get there is Start/Run and type in services.msc.
    Installer adds about 5 service entries, the database service is called OracleServiceXE, if its not showing a "Running" left click it to highlight the entry, and click the Start Service button.
    Now try the SQL statement that the backup.bat is trying to run, its just making a pfile backup of the server parameter file- in a command box (Start/Run type in cmd) run sqlplus and connect sysdba, try a variation on pfile backup (i.e. if you have a d:\temp folder, or adjust as appropriate):
    $ sqlplus /nolog
    SQL>connect /as sysdba;
    ... Connected ...
    SQL> create pfile='d:\temp\initXE_bkup.ora' from spfile;
    ...That will give you a backup parameter file, so if something happens to the server parameter file (i.e a parameter is set incorrectly in the spfile) you should be able to get past a startup problem via startup specifying that pfile:
    SQL>connect /as sysdba;
    ... Connected ...
    SQL> shutdown immediate;
    ... database unmounted ... database closed ...
    SQL> startup pfile='d:\temp\initXE_bkup.ora';
    ... database open ...
    SQL> shutdown immediate;
    SQL> startup;
    ... database open ...The startup by itself will use the instance spfile. Or a startup mount; is the first part of changing to archivelog mode. However, comma, if a location for the archivelog files isn't set the database uses the flash recovery area, its good practice to create a folder for archivelog files and set the logfile destination and a format for the logfile names.
    And the 2 day DBA doc, backup and recovery chapter, is a good place to get more info on managing backups http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/admin.102/b25107/backrest.htm#i1004902

  • Brtools commands via DB13

    Hi Experts
    I want to schedule to run a single table stat ( as below)  and backup jobs everyday with DB13 , is it possible run/schedule a command line brconnct or brbackup via DB13 ?
    brconnect -u / -c -f stats -o SAPSR3 -t RFBLG -e null -m E -s P10 -f allsel,collect,method,sample,keep
    or
    brbackup -d util_file -t online_cons -m all -c -u /
    Thanks
    Al Mamun

    I donot know how do I schedule to run everyday a single table stat with DB20 ?
    Go to DB20, enter the table name and look at the menu options to select collect/update statistics.
    corn tab is not an option
    SAP standard functionality gives you the option "update statistics" for all the tables in DB13.
    If you want to customize something which is specific for you, then you have to opt other available options (in this case, crontab is one of the option).

    Do not seem to be able to backup iPad via iTunes on to my PC.
    Message after connecting is "iTunes was unable to load class information from Sync Services, Reconnect or try later"
    Have tried that but get the same result.
    Remedies I've tried are:
    wait and try again
    reboot
    reload iTunes
    NB hp is a relatively new machine and has previously backed up quite happily.
    Can anyone assist?

    RHoodnkt-
    Try rebooting the iPad.  Hold down both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  It takes a minute or two to restart.
    Also be sure your iPad battery is not completely discharged.

  • [Forum FAQ] Cannot perform a backup schedule via Windows Server Backup and receive "The system cannot find the path specified." Error

    Symptom One
    You attempt to
    schedule a backup every day via Windows Server Backup on Windows Server 2008 R2. At the beginning, the backup works without issue. But after a few days it failed and you receive the error “Windows Server Backup:
    The system cannot find the path specified.”
    Cause
    The issue may occur if there is
    no shadow copy storage space available on the backup volume.
    Verify
    You can use the List ShadowStorage command to check if you have enough storage space to store the newly created shadow copy. If you've reviewed the size of the backup snapshot and discovered
    that there is no allocated space for the storage association, you need to resize shadowstorage.
    Solution
    You could run the command below to create shadow copy storage space on the backup volume:
    vssadmin resize
    shadowstorage /for=<ForVolumeSpec> /on=<OnVolumeSpec> [/maxsize=<MaxSizeSpec>]
    More Information
    Vssadmin resize shadowstorage
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc788050.aspx
    Symptom Two
    When you add
    another external hard drive to backup schedule via Windows Server Backup on Windows Server 2012, it fails and you receive the error “The System cannot find the path specified.”
    Cause
    The issue is due to the
    Original Destination Disk was not attached to the server.
    Verify
    You could check the disk status in Disk Management to see if the Original Destination Disk is offline or removed.
    Solution
    You need to attach
    Original Destination Disk to the Server then choose another external hard drive as backup target. After that, you could remove the Original Destination Disk.
    Workaround
    To work around this issue, please use the WBADMIN command line tool to add disk.
    WBADMIN ENABLE BACKUP -addtarget :{ DiskID}
    The AddTarget parameter takes disk ID as parameter. It can be retrieved by running "WBADMIN GET DISKS" command.
    Example:
    WBADMIN ENABLE BACKUP
    -addtarget :{ aa123d14-bba0-1dd9-0d93-80aaaa6bbb63}
    More Information

  • Issue with backup NCS via NFS (Cisco Prime NCS 1.2.0)

    Hello,
    Does someone have issue with backup NCS via externally mounted location (NFS)?
    I have Cisco Prime NCS 1.2.0 and tried backup it to external resources, but I have issue with my free space:
    NCS/admin# backup ncs repository backup_nfs
    % Creating backup with timestamped filename: ncs-130131-0534.tar.gpg
    INFO : Cannot configure the backup directory size settings as the free space available is less than the current database size.
    You do not have enough disk space available in your repository to complete this backup.
    DB size is 25 GB
    Available size is 12 GB
    Please refer to the command reference guide for NCS and look at the /backup-staging-url/ command reference to setup the backup repository on an externally mounted location
      Stage 5 of 7: Building backup file ...
      -- complete.
      Stage 6 of 7: Encrypting backup file ...
      -- complete.
      Stage 7 of 7: Transferring backup file ...
      -- complete.
    I have tried to add additional space and use command backup-staging-url (my configuration: backup-staging-url nfs://server2008:/nfs), but it didn't help me.
    NFS share works perfect. I have checked it via NFS repository:
    repository backup_nfs
      url nfs://server2008:/nfs
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    NCS/admin# show repository backup_nfs
    NCS-130130-1135.tar.gpg
    NCS-130130-1137.tar.gpg
    NCS-130130-1157.tar.gpg
    NCS-130130-1158.tar.gpg
    test-130130-1210.tar.gz
    Everytime when I try create backup I receive error message "You do not have enough disk space available in your repository to complete this backup".
    Does someone know how can I backup NCS system?
    Thank you

    How much space is availabe on that NFS mount point? It looks like to me from the error message that there is only 12 GB....
    The backup-staging-url is just for a space used to stage the backup before it is written-----

  • SAP Full Offline Backup Problem

    Hi all,
    I am a newbie to SAP.
    I was attempting an Full Offline Backup through the DB13 transaction.
    SAP is installed in a RHEL Cluster with Oracle DB 10gR2.
    Because of Cluster Operation the Full Offline Backup is not performed successfully because when Oracle DB is shutdown during backup in the first node, the cluster automatically raises the service in the 2nd node and after copying files when the DB is tried to start on the first node it raises an error.
    Is there a manner to notify also the other cluster nodes about the Full Offline backup in order not to start the DB and to perform the backup successfully.
    Drini

    No I want to schedule the offline backup to a regular intervals for example once a month
    Can this cluster monitoring be scheduled automatically from SAP or can SAP notify Linux Cluster not to treat this as an "Oracle Down" situation but as a mainteinance in order not to start the Oracle to the other cluster node.
    Best Regards,
    Drini
