Backup/Restore won't reload third part applications, why?

This completely doesn't make sense to me. What is the use of having a backup/restore function if the entire device is not actually backed up and restored? Apparently this is just the databases? Well, what good are some of the databases, if the restore feature isn't restoring the applications that use those databases? This seems liek such an utterly useless feature without the applications.
There is even an option when choosing Reload Device Software, saying backup and restore third party applications, yet this only seems applicable when completely reloading the device software, and not when attempting to transfer from one failed blackberry to a new one.
The applications are even in a folder on my computer, yet I cannot install them to the device. How can I install these?

I have read this about a million times and I have no idea what it is telling me. I need help understanding this more and I am also wondering is this going to cost money to agree to it and what it is linking me too

The lawyers sure got ahold of that one, didn't they?!?!? All it is really saying is that, if you go to that linked site/3rd party app, RIM has no liability for whatever that linked site/3rd party app may do. When you agree, you absolve RIM of liability and agree that, no matter what, you will not seek any recourse from RIM. RIM has zero control over what that other site/app may do...anything they do is 100% between you and them, and RIM has no involvement (nor liability).

BO DI integration with an third part application

Hi All,
I have to right an adapter to integrate data from an third party application. Can anyone help me in this to start?
I want that my DI job should read data from this third party application and can write data into this third party application. This third party application will provide us APIs in order to get/send data to this app.
So, how can I achieve this. I know that we need to write some kind of Adapter for this. So, can anyone help me in this. How to write this adapter. It will be really very helpful if I can get some sample program on how to write this kind of adapter.

you check the docs and sample in DI/DS installation in the following folder

also, check if the 3rd party application provides support for webservices, if yes, instead of writing a adapter use that

Trouble with iPhone 5 iCloud backup restore - won't finish

Apple replaced my iPhone 5 free of charge two weeks ago after it suddenly died through no fault of my own (hardware issue).
I updated the software on the new phone and then set it to restore from iCloud.
Two weeks later - the restore still hasn't finished apparently!
Two main issues:
1) How do I get it to finish? i have checked for songs in itunes that are from others' accounts and can't see or remember any, although it is asking me for people's passwords when I turn the phone on. STRANGELY though some of the users it is asking me for I haven't even seen since I've owned an iPhone 5!! How can I determine what it is still trying to download and who these accounts are linked too? I have looked through itunes and can only see songs that I've purchased.
2) Missing photos - I just returned from a cruise when my phone died. When I first restored it, my photos reappeared in the photo stream, and then one day later they all disappeared again!! Obviously they are in the cloud somewhere. How can I recover them??

Third part application menu item hotkeys ????

Hi folks !
I would like to be able to access title and corresponding hotkeys (when existing) of every menuitems of a menubar, thanks to the accessibility API. I currently see how to retrieve the focus application and have access to its menubar, all I have now is to browse its elements.
Using the UIElementInspector, it seems like the accessibility API can help me to retrieve every menuitem of the menubar, and its corresponding title. However, I haven't been able to find a way to get corresponding hotkeys. While I thought the AXMenuItemCmdVirtualKey could help me, I haven't been able to find any application that has values associated to this field.
Does any one have an idea on how I should proceed to retrieve these hotkeys (if possible) ?

Troubleshooting when restarting using third parties application ?

HI Everyone,
I'm having some problem when using Drive Genius 3 as example ,
When i'm tryin to defrag my disk it says that I need to restart my computer , when i'm doing it it only close my current session instead of restarting my whole computer .
And when i'm tryin to restart it normally with the good old : Apple - Restart . it is working fine
Can someone explain my why when i'm using drive genius this is not working ? !

Third Party Application Called TuneUp Lost Ringtone Icons/Ability to Buy

Okay, I purchased and installed a third party application that is supposed to help iTunes get album art and other things. All was going well until i did their latest, greatest update and now I cannot see any Ringtones icons in the field that shows if ringtones are available in iTunes purchased songs. I still have my "purchased ringtones, but I don't have the ability to purchase anymore on songs that are eligible.
I've uninstalled TuneUp, reinstalled a fresh version of iTunes, but still not joy. How to I burn iTunes to the ground without losing my entire music library?

You can download a trial then install using your serial number, which if you didn’t register or write down somewhere you will be out of luck to track down.

No. If you restored the device to an older backup, then the device was brought back to that date and time, which was before those photos were taken. When you restored the device, it deleted everything off the phone and replaced it with the earlier information.

Third party application backup

Does the information I enter into a third party application get backup anywhere when I plug my Touch into my computer? I purchased mSecure to keep track of all of my user names and passwords, I've also purchased iXpenselt to keep track of my expenses but I decided its useless to use these applications unless the information I enter into them gets backed-up somewhere so that when and if my Touch crashes I won't have to manually re-enter everything.

BlackBerry backup file & third-party app data

Q:
1. Does the Desktop Software really back all data up during creation the backup file ?
2. Are there the specific third-party application data – Opera Mini Bookmarks – saved to the IPD backup file ?
3. Is there any possibility to retrieve my Opera Mini Bookmarks from BlackBerry.ipd backup file ?
I did new backup file before upgrading BlackBerry OS. The OS upgrade process restored all applications previously installed but all my Opera bookmarks disappeared.
I tried to recover the applications data from the backup file via BB Desktop Software (Restore > Select device data and settings > RMS Databases) but I couldn’t retrieve my OM bookmarks.

first of all, thank you for your valuable and kind reply.
As I’m not advanced user of the BB-device, I had tried several times to solve the problem (retrieving the particular, 3rd-party app data - OM Bookmarks) and finally found solution to the issue:
1. Downgrade the Opera Mini v. 7.1 to the Opera Mini 7.0 version
2. Restore the app data&colon; RMS Databases from .ipd (or .bbb) backup file
(for Desktop Software v.6.0.1.18):
Device > Restore > Select backup file (.ipd) / Select Data to restore > Select Device Data and Settings [option] > choose from the list: RMS Databases > OK
P.S., there is something wrong with Opera Mini 7.1, it can not initiate to restore its own data from RMS Databases.

Target system (x86-64/AMD64): R3E47 Ext Set 2.00 SAP_BASIS 620 Kernel 640 Windows 2000 Oracle 10.2.0.4, non-unicode
Am using method System Copy/ Oracle Backup/Restore to migrate from 32 to 64 bit (HOM System Copy).
Actions on source system:
a) Upgrade from 9.2.0.7 to Oracle 10.2.0.4
b) Used ora_br_copy.bat to generate CONTROL.SQL and init<sid>.ora
c) Switched logfiles
d) Performed offline backup
Actions on target system:
a) Installed Oracle 10.2.0.1 and patched it to 10.2.0.4
b) Used CD 51033746 "6.20/6.40 based products Installation Master (Edition May 2008)" to install the CI
c) Started installation of the DB instance selecting System Copy/ Oracle Backup/Restore (same <SID> for source and target systems)
Relevant input parameters used:
Database schema: SAPR3
Database character set: US7ASCII
d) When SAPINST stopped to allow for restoring of datafiles, logs and init<sid.ora>:
- copied datafiles and logs to the usual place
- copied CONTROL.SQL (edited to include utilrp.sql and utlrp.sql for the migration from 32 to 64) to the DB-instance intallation . directory.
- copied generated init<SID>.ora to the <ORACLE_HOME>\database
e) Resumed SAPINST.

Well, I am getting ORA-06553: PLS-801: internal error [56319] but then my edited CONTROL.SQL (which is mainly a CREATE CONTROLFILE as it would be obtained with a ...BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE) includes at the end this:

No - not really auotmatically if you upgraded from 9.2 And "init<SID>.ora" is past, you nowadays use "spfile" If, of course, e. g. Automatic Undo was activated in 9.2 then it's there of course in 10.2 too.

The exported content is about 10 % of the size of the system, it's database and OS independent so yes, you can import it nicely on 32bit. Another tip: make sure you don't just use the default configurations for R3load, it will take a HUGE amount of time. Use the package splitter (builtin-in in sapinst) so you get a much higher parallelism when importing.

Restore third-party applications blackberry ID account

Hello all,
As a Blackberry newb I have accidentally deleted the BB ID you find in OPTIONS>THIRD-PARTY APPLICATIONS.
There are 3 modules net_rim_bbid_api, net_rim_bbid_common and net_rim_bbid_daemon.
Where do I download and restore these modules.
The phone and all its functions are working but would like to correct the situation.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm lost, you had a BB ID application? What is the name of the application you deleted? Do you have BlackBerry Internet Service? What is your Operating System version(check under options>about?
