Backup SMS texts from Blackberry to PC?

Hi there,
Is there a way I can backup or transfer my SMS text messages from my Blackberry Pearl to my PC?
I have a large number of texts, and there are important ones that I want to save to PC - that will save the timestamp as well as the text itself.
I have done a search and could only find software to send SMS from my PC, but no mention of whethe rI can import SMS from BB to PC.
Any ideas?

Please see my post today 11/21 called "SIM card full, can't download all SMS messages" for a similiar problem and a partial solution in that I can get the most recent 8 messages but not the older ones.
Using the BB Desktop Manager from RIM, Version 5.0.1.18 dated Agust 09, the "Backup and Restore" function will backup these into an IPD data base format. To read this, I downloaded and installed a 30 day free usage product called ABC Amber BB Converter. It is a crippled app but will show you the messages.
Hopefully someone else will respond to either your or my request for help in downloading all the SMS messages.

If you want to delete the messages from within the text app, swipe over the name or number of the sender and hit delete.
If you are afraid that someone will be able to restore them by ckecking your HD, you will have to set up the phone "as new device" or choose "erase all content and Settings" in Settings/General/Reset. But this willerase the whole phone, not only your text messages.

Not receiving SMS Texts from other iphone users

I am on Orange PAYG in the UK EVERY time I top up I will receive free Texts, Free down load allowance etc at he end of my free month I turn off my Mobile data so as not to use up my credit ( in a mater of seconds ) due to me having not mobile data running - I was able to receive SMS Texts from iphone users using imessage (my phone was recognised as being able to receive standard SMS Texts and would do so with no mobile data - until recently now this no longer seems to work Why Would This Be ?

Move SMS texts from iphone 3g to Iphone4

Morning all. A nice delivery man has just brought me a shiney new Iphone4 which I would like to fill up with my old previous SMS text messages. The rest of the stuff I can sync without an issue. Is there any way of copying the data from one to the other?

so I found this
Extremely simple and easy method to solve (The SMS Transfer) issue
I wanted to share with the community
well here it goes
Step One : Backup both your iPhones
Step Two : Search and download iTools for iPhone free download (for PC or MAC)
Step Three : Open itools & plug in your iphone 3GS
Step Four : Your iPhone will be detected & all details would be displayed on the left Panel
Step Five : Click on File Sytems
Step Six : On the right Panel click on filesystem (Jailbreak)
Step Seven : Go to filesystem/user/ library/sms
Step Eight : On the far right panel, you will see some very important folders and files
Step Nine : Simply Select All, Right Click and copy em in a new Folder may be on the desktop                     (Name it iPhone 3GS SMS)
Step Ten : Disconnect iphone 3GS and connect iPhone 4
Step Eleven : Repeat the steps from Five to Nine (Only copy them in a new folder and name it                      iPhone 4 SMS. (Note : We dont need these files n folders, but just in case                            something goes wron, we can replace them back)
Step Twelve : Copy the files n folders from the directory on the desktop named iPhone 3GS SMS
                     and paste the in the iphone 4 here (the program will ask wether to replace                             existing files n folders, in some chinese lingo, but u can see Y and N on each                           buttons so click on the left (Y)
And thats about it, You are done, As simple as that, All the SMS on the iPhone 3GS are transfered on the new device.

Caution : This worked like a charm for me, but it may not be the same for everyone so just in case anything goes wrong you can replace the previously saved files n folders in iPhone 4 SMS directory back. I am very clear, I am not responsible for any loss or damage, Do at your own risk.

Cant Send SMS Text from iPhone

I cant send any SMS texts. I can send iMessages and MMS (pictures), so when i want to text a non-iphone user i have to text, let it fail to deliver, then take a screenshot of this and send screenshot pic to the person.

Manual cutting of a SIM is always a risk, as you have witnessed. It is best to get a SIM directly from your carrier that is designed for your particular model of the phone. That eliminates these types of problems.

SMS text from Touch, but replies to phone

I've been researching extensively looking for the easiest method of SMS texting using my Touch, but with my company provided phone and text plan. My company phone is a Motorola VE465 which is a basic flip phone that is a chore to text on.
On the desktop I use a service through Callwave online which as usual you select your contact, type your message and click send. What is nice about Callwave is that when recipients reply, it goes to my PHONE and NOT an email adress or IM client. That is a very nice convenience for obvious reasons. I'm not always around a wifi signal.
Last night, I found this web app at sms.dynadel.com/ that offers thats functionality though not very gracefully. You can enter a number of contacts and in the "Reply to" field enter your 10 digit mobile number@your carriers sms domain and the replies go to my phone rather than a 3rd party client or email (mentioned many times here before). They also have a paid app called SMS Station, but it is unclear if the app offers that same feature.
This has been the best method I've see. I'd love to see a better one for this with similar needs to mine.I also wondered if there is a way to "spoof" and email account with the reply to address containing the 10 digit mobile number@your carriers sms domain.

I can't send SMS text from iPad 4 w/ cellular, no option to add or turn off/on

I can no longer send SMS text with IPad 4 w/ cellular. There is no option in settings-messages to turn on SMS like on iphone5. Everything is trying to be sent iMessage which fails when sending text to non apple users. This change occurred after last iOS update.

I can confirm this for the Ipad Mini with iOS6.1
Although the cellular hardware is available - the iPad doesn't handle SMS Text messages.
For those trying to use prepaid 3G internet data simcards, not being able to send or receive text messages pretty much cripples most 3G prepaid internet simcard packages available around the world.

Can't receive SMS texts from non-iPhone users

My phone suddenly stopped letting me receive texts from non iPhone users yesterday. Since then, I have powered my phone on and off, reset the network, and power cycle. My mother has been in the hospital and I have to be here with her all day. I have no time to go to a verizon store. I've only had the phone a week and I'm really disappointed with this. Seeing my mom is in the hospital, I really need this to be working, but I'd don't even know of something else to try.

Ktoole, I can understand how frustrating this could be. How long has this been an issue? Have you ever been able to receive texts from non-iPhone users? Do you have iMessage on or off? Have you tried to restore the phone through iTunes?

How to auto forward sms texts from iphone to iphone?

I just got the new iphone 5 for work... which is great, but it means that I will be carrying around my personal iphone 4 and the new iphone. I would like to get this down to just one iphone, so can I auto forward my texts from iphone to iphone? Is there an app for that... and, if so, what is it?

Not sure if Google Voice will do that or if one of the TextFree apps will...but you can check those out and see if they meet your needs.

I will give it a try again. This is what I did "unknowingly" last week, and I only copied right up to the time I las sync my old iphone (three months ago).
I justsync that old iphone today. Do you think it will bring across everything this time?.
I am backing up the new phone just in case, but it's taking a wee while.

IPhone (AT&T) not receiving texts from Blackberry (Verizon)

The problem is pretty much stated above. I'm on an Iphone 4s (this was happing on the 3gs as well, so I don't believe that it is an Iphone problem) - i just didn't realize it until now that it was a problem. - her phone (the blackberry. don't know the model) is working fine and recieves my text messages, but when she goes to text back, nothing...
was wondering if you guys could help, i searched the apple discussions from before, but didn't find anything all that useful. - was wondering what you guys knew so if i do have to go to AT&T or apple. i at least know something. (i'm good with technology. but it being just one phone number (that i'm aware of) is strange. - we have an unlimited data plan (grandfathered into it) and from what i understand, my friend (on the blackberry) has had no issues texting any other cell phone (or iphone) besides mine.
any ideas? - let me know if there is anything else i can do to clarify if something doesn't make sense

Note - While put under "iPhone 4s" this started under the iphone 3gs, and is still not working on my new iPhone 4s, so.. just to clarify. -- Also, I said in the title, I am on AT&T (with Iphone) and she is on Verizon (with Blackberry)

I can send and people get my texts, but now cannot receive them unless I use the Crunch SMS program. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

I've seen this asked before. The CrunchSMS application sets a permission on your device and if you aren't using that application it needs to be changed. You need to contact the developer to determine what permission should be fixed.

Question?? Backup Assistant - Going from BlackBerry to Droid

I am going from a BlackBerry Curve to a Droid X. Do I need to use the Backup Assistant or can I connect the information on my Gmail account (Contacts etc) to the Droid X.
I have the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and use this to backup my phone...do I really need to do anything or can I activate my new Droids?

I would think you have your contacts already on your online account. If yes then do this.....
1. Go to Verizon Wireless and log into My Verizon. If you do not already have a My Verizon login and password select the “register” link.
2. On the My Verizon landing page select either “My Contacts” from the account actions on the right side of the page, or the “Contacts” button at the top of the page..
3. Export the .csv file:
a. Select the contacts that you want to export. If you want to export the entire list use "Select All".
b. Select the "Export Contacts" function.
c. Select the option to export contacts in "CV (Outlook)" format.
4. Save the exported .csv file to your computer.
5. Go to mail.google.com and log in. You will need to register for an account if you do not already have one.
6. Select “Contacts” from the menu on the left side of the screen. Once on the contact page select “Import” in the upper right hand corner.
7. Follow system prompts to import your .csv file.
8. Activate your Android device.
9. Sign into your Gmail account on your DROID. Contacts will sync automatically over the air.

How can I backup my texts from my iphone?
