Backup Voice Memos

Hi,
I have 217 Voice Memos and would like to copy them into my iTunes Library. When I synch the phone to iTunes and click on Devices-Voice Memos the full list appears. When I click my Voice Memos folder in the iTunes library I only see 123. I have already clicked on my iPhone in the Devices tab and pressed Music-Sync Music - Selected Playlists and also checked 'Include voice memos' but they just wont import. Please tell me what I am doing wrong.

My voice notes are not syncing with my Iphone 4 as well. Using a Mac with everything up to date. Please advise why they aren't showing up in Itunes after syncing.

Look for Voice Memos under Genres in iTunes.
With the phone connected, click on its name on the left. Then click on the Music tab on the right. Is "Include voice memos" checked?

Manually Backup to PC - incl. Voice Memos?

After reinstall OS and new iTunes - my iPhone data wouldn't transfer to iTunes. I did manual back up (to PC) and I'm about to restore my iPhone.
What's very important for me is NOT TO LOSE VOICE MEMOS that are on my iPhone. Are Memos included in manual PC backup?
Or: A) Is there a way to get voice memos (copy, save to my PC) without using iTunes
B) Find in my PC from backup those voice memos? (Before I take the chance - restore my iPhone and find out if voice memos made it...?)

Not sure about that, I don't use voice memos so I'm not familiar if they can be transferred to your computer via iTunes sync. But from the Voice Memos app itself you can send them out via email and they'll be an .m4a attachment that you can save. Just tap the send icon (rectangle with arrow pointing up).
But you cannot extract your voice memos out of your iOS backup if that's what you're thinking.

My voice memos duplicate every iTunes sync and now takes up 3GB of my backup size and also from 'other', how do I delete them?

It seems since I got my iPhone 5, my voice memos get duplicated every time it syncs with iTunes. There was only a few memos but a couple of them were rather large. I have found this out by looking at my iTunes backup and find them in /media/recordings. I have stopped them from duplicating by de-selecting them from iTunes, but now how can I delete these items from my phone to free up the space? The best way I could think of is somehow remove them from my backup, then restore. I use iCloud normally for backup so I am almost out of space.
I am using OS 10.8.2 with iTunes 11 and iOS 6.0.1

Update: iExplorer does support deleting voice memos. Received helpful product support email detailing how, even before I registered the product.
while you can delete voice memos where the actual files are stored in Media/Recordings (which is where you should see those missing voice memos), iExplorer 3 isn’t designed to delete them from your device since deleting them iniExplorer 3 won’t update the voice memo database on the device
It's still quite slow and crashes if you try to delete the entire list (I do 10 at a time now), but it works to delete memos that are not refered to any more within the Voice Memos app.
Still doesn't solve the Apple iTunes problem of duplicating SW, which appears to still be happening on a small scale, but I am recovering the Other data back to Free slowly.

If iCloud Backup on; Voice Memos stuck.

Some of my voice memos seem to be stuck.
Seems like they get unstuck if I have iCloud Backup turned off...
For example, if I turn off iCloud backup, then create a voice memo, that latest voice memo will be synced.
However, voice memos created with iCloud Backup on do not get synced into iTunes > iTunes Media > Voice Memos folder.
There is approximately a 20 file gap when I compare the iTunes > iTunes Media > Voice Memos folder to Voice Memos app on my device.
On my own I've tried the following:

- Unplug iphone from the computer after the failed sync
- In iTunes, select File –> Library –> Organize Library –> Consolidate files
- Plug in the iphone & sync again
Deleting iTunes Library Files
Creating Alternate/New iTunes Folder

Recreating iTunes Library
My Device is iPhone 4
Version 5.1.1
PC, Windows Xp
Any ideas on how I can get ALL of the Voice Memos onto my Computer?

It only means that you will then automatically be backing up to iCloud instead of automatically backing up to your computer when you sync. No other syncing functions are effected.
Even if you are backing up to iCloud, you can always perform a manual backup to your computer in iTunes by going to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and clicking Back Up Now under Manually Back Up and Restore.

How do I recover voice memos on my iPhone 4s without a backup

I accidently synced my voice memos to a new itunes library....not realising it treats memos like music and so it wiped out all my voice memos on my iphone. I dont have the backup file since the recent back up is the same file after a ssecond re-sync done in a panic (which made it worse I guess by removing the old backup).
So where can I go from here ? Help is most appreciated.

Yes that is correct, I checked the voice memo box in the music section not knowing it will wipe out everything on my phone.
Re. old back ups...I may have one from one month back. But there voice memos since then also that I need to recover.

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

How do I backup my voice memos on my iPhone 4 on to a cd?

Seems that after running out of power during a recording, voice memos won't sync anymore, not even the ones that were correctly finished before the power outage.
The solution (some steps may be obsolete, but this worked for me):
* backup the existing files in Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Voice Memos/
* throw away the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes.
* uncheck the 'Include voice memos' checkbox in iTunes' iPhone -> 'Music' tab; Apply
* quit iTunes
* detach usb cable
* re-attach usb cable
* check the 'Include voice memos' checkbox in iTunes' iPhone -> 'Music' tab; Apply
look inside Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Voice Memos/ ... voila!
Intuitive and hassle-free, isn't it?

When I backup my iPhone 3GS in 10.5 is it doing a full backup of the phone or just what is checked in sync. Because I lost all my voice memos by just "backing it up" before upgrading to iOS5.

How do I find the voice memo file stored in the backup on my computer?

I am trying to find the file on my computer for the voice memos. I tried to save the voice memo and it was deleted from my iphone 5. I am trying to retrieve it from a previous backup on my computer.

They are in the backup created by iTunes of your iPhone.
You will need a 3rd party application top get them out.

In the music tab I have it checked to include my voice memos but I can't find them in iTunes. I search by name; nothing. No playlist, no section in music. They are nowhere. I can use iBrowse to grab them, but they are all just a bunch of numbers and composition folders... that's not very useful.

VOICE MEMOS RECOVERY (without iCloud or any backup from anything)

Hello everyone, I have a question!
I was backing up all my stuffs from an iPhone 5 to my iMac.
It was all good because it was loading just fine, but then iTunes pop up asking if we wanted to set it up as:
- A new phone
- Restore
I clicked restore because I thought if I'd set it up as a new phone, it would delete everything.
But after I clicked restore the process STOP & my phone was on restore mode & then afterward it suddenly lost EVERYTHING!!!
Is there anyway I can recover my voice memo without back up?

Voice memos freeze backup

everytime i plug in my iPhone 3G, it starts to back up my phone but once it starts to back up the voice memos it freezes.
i cannot get anything new because that stops it everytime

Voice Memos, iPhone 5S, iTunes - wont show my recordings

Okay so I have 34 Voice memos 3 hours long each, they are present on my phone, but my itunes shows only 14 of them.
I switched computers, so I did complete backup on new computer, it started spitting out messages that if i sync music then "iPhone will be deleted and replaced with iPhone from new computer" that happened when i clicked that i want to manually manage music. Well, to my luck it did not delete iPhone and replace it with another iPhone, but just deleted my music.
Then I clicked "On This iPhone, and only saw 14 recordings, my phone still has 34, I got freaked out so I downloaded iFunBox and backed up everything manually, I cannot trust to back up my iPhone now, because I am afraid the iTunes will wipe half of my recordings, what the **** should I do? I havent backed up in a few weeks, not sure if old backup has all recordings
