Backup with out icloud

I am new to deploying iPads for my end users and seem to be running into a few obstacles. We have many offices that will use many iPads in different ways. I am estimating that there will be roughly 5 different backups that I will need to make for the devices depending which site they are at. Site A will have different apps and settings than Site B would etc.
The problem I am running in to it seems is that if at my office, I set up 10 iPAds for Site A with their specific settings and then deploy them to Site A, If they ever wipe their iPad, or I need to make updates to it, They would all need to bring their iPads in to my site for me to do this. Otherwise, I would have to set up a specific PC at each site, solely for iTunes, create the backup, and then go on site to manually update each one.
Because of the type of environment that we have I can't use iCloud, and traveling each time there are changes is difficult. There has to be some way that I can Create a Backup at my site, Save it to my Network, and then have users access it from the Network at their site right? I would even be OK with having a PC at each site and then mailing them a USB stick with a backup to it.
I run a windows xp-win 7 environment, and have tried pulling the data from C:\Documents and settings\user\music\itunes   as well as C:\documents and settings\User\applicaiton data\Apple    And putting it on a different machine and it doesn't seem to allow me to then restore the backup.
Any ideas or paths that I could consider?
Thans

You may have photo stream photos on your iPad that are well over 30 days, but they aren't in your photo strem; they are only in the photo stream album on your iPad.
As mentioned earlier, up to 1000 photo stream photos will remain on your device until deleted, but they will only remain in your photo stream in iCloud for 30 days.  If you restored your iPad, then turned photo stream back on, you would only get back photos added to your photo stream during the last 30 days as the older photos are no longer there.
This is documented here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486, under "How long are My Photo Stream photos stored in iCloud" and under "How many photos are stored in My Photo Stream on my devices and computers".

  • Calendar sync in Maverick with out iCloud, iPhone 1st gen

I would like to ask how to sync calendar with my iPhone 1st gen in Maverick? (With out iCloud??)

"Apple does not put your personal info into iCloud. You do."
Of course 'we do'. We are not robots as yet.
The point being that apple is trying to force us, i.e., eliminate all choice for those of us who are on mac platforms to have to use iCloud to sync our calendars. I do not want my personal information and the minutia of my daily life anyplace other than in my personal possession, thank you very much.
For the first time ever, I feel as if I may be forced to leave the Apple environment.
Maverick is a mess with too many problems and in reality is really in a beta state.
Sadly, Apple is loosing its luster.

Good luck, but they will tell you the same thing that anyone here will tell you.
Unless the device was backed up (via iTunes or iCloud) after the pictures were taken but prior to deleting them on the device, they are gone.  There is no way to recover them once deleted without a backup.

  • HT4061 lost iphone with out icloud installed

iphone 4s working with law enforcement

    iCloud does not get "installed".
There is nothing to install to be able to track an iPhone, instead it's the User's Responsibility to sign into the device with an iCloud account and enable the Find My iPhone feature.  Did you fail to do this?

  • Can I delete my icloud back ups with out loosing my current data on my iphone 5

Hey guys.  I was wondering if I can delete my iCloud backup  with out loosing my current data on my iphone 5?  I can not up date my phone because it says I do not have enough storage available.  Yes, I have purchased more storage space on iCloud.
    Thank you!

Yes you could delete backups without loosing anything on your device, but iCloud storage has nothing to do with your local device capacity. I guess that your device is just full and that you have to delete something like apps, movies etc to free up some space for other content.
iCloud uses its storage only for
Photos and videos in the Camera Roll
Device settings (for example: Phone Favorites, Wallpaper, and Mail, Contacts, Calendar accounts)
    App data
    Home screen and app organization
    Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS)
    Ringtones
    Visual Voicemails
purchases of apps, music, videos do not count against your iCloud storage capacity ( but please see also iCloud backup and restore overview http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4859).

  • My phone wouldn't back up with iCloud because it ran out of storage . I purchased more iCloud storage after a week and after doing an iTunes backup and now it won't backup with the cloud

My phone ran out of iCloud storage. After a week I did an iTunes backup then bought more iCloud storage and now it won't back up with the iCloud.

Do you have sufficient storage now?  And did you turn on iCloud backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup?

  • ICloud backup with no wifi

The wifi on my iPhone 4S is greyed out.  I tried doing a DFU restore but the wifi still does not work.  I'm going to wait until my upgrade to get a new phone but my most recent backup is on iCloud, not iTunes.  Since I can't restore my iCloudn back up without wifi, is there anyway to download my most recent iCloud backup to iTunes, or is there anyway to restore my iCloud backup on my phone with NO wifi?

google EPPB, it allows you to retrieve icloud backups.

  • ICloud storage full on iphone, but deleted almost everything and grows larger!  iPad is fine with same iCloud acct.  can I delete iPhone backup then turn it back on without loosing iCloud data?

Icloud storage full.  Can I delete my iPhone icloud backup with keeping my iCloud data unharmed (since my iPad has iCloud storage turned on, and I wouldn't be turning iCloud off on my iPad). BTW, I use iTunes for music and photo albums; iCloud for contacts, notes, etc. Then turn iCloud back up back on on iphone to see if I had a problem file and the storage changes?
ICloud storage full.  I deleted messages, moved the camera roll to my PC, deleted Safari bookmarks, turned off almost every app in Managing  iCloud storage.  I turned off the backup, restarted iCloud backup and did a manual backup yet my storage gets larger yet.
Makes no sense.  I have a iPhone and iPad. It's the iPhone showing this large iCloud storage  3.6 GB (when the iPad has more apps and only 716MB).

ANSWER to my Question above:  YES.
I took a chance, as I could find NO information regarding my question, and DELETED MY ICLOUD BACKUP (not my ICLOUD account).  I then turned ON my ICLOUD BACKUP and whew!  It plummeted from 4.8 GB full out of 5 GB TO: 1.2 GB full out of 5 GB.
I even turned on more settings to back up and it still shows 1.2 GB full in ICLOUD, 3.8 available.  No more emails to say I am running out of ICLOUD space.
[For what its worth if others are getting messages their ICLOUD is almost full, and you don't have all that much on ICLOUD.  Then when you even delete apps, messages, camera roll, turn off almost ALL icloud back ups and features the ICLOUD backup grows even larger.  My ICLOUD kept increasing in size while I was decreasing my ICLOUD storage in Managing storage.]
(All my ICLOUD contacts, notes, Safari bookmarks, were returned in place.)

  • How to free space in icloud with out loosing my pictures?

I need to know step by step how to free space in icloud from y devices Iphone, ipad and itouch with out loosing my pictures. I do not know how to save all my pictures from my iphone to my PC
    Thank you

Don't use icloud to archive/save photos, these must be saved to a computer.
Read this...  import photos to your computer...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
As for make more free space on icloud...
Delete old emails you no longer want,
Go through your calendars, contacts, etc. and delete those you no longer want,
Delete backups:  Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the device name and on the resulting screen, scroll down and tap on Delete Backup.

  • Ipad (3) wont backup with Computer or iCloud

I plan to update my ipad, but before I do I need to backup. Only problem is any attempt to backup fails.
On windows using itunes, the backup starts and then when it nears 100% complete it says ...
iTunes could not backup iPad "name" because the backup could not be saved to the computer
So, I'm using Win8, latest iTunes, new computer, firewall off, etc. etc. I spent 2 days trying this with no success. Looking in the iTunes logs directory under %appdata% all I see is the following:

Next step, fall back to iCloud backup directly from the iPad. I do not have a lot of data on it, so this should comfortably fit in the available 5GB. Unfortunately it never completes estimating time remaining and basically bombs out immediately.
    Any help appreciated!

    Whyohy,
I had a similar issue.  I was neither able to back up to iCloud nor to my computer through iTunes.  When I tried to do so to my laptop, iTunes would display the following message:  "iTunes could not back up the iPhone [myiPhone] because the back up could not be saved on this computer."  I looked at the system log and saw the same error as you.  When I tried to do so to iCloud, my phone would display the following message:  "The last backup could not be completed."
On my laptop, I did the measures suggested by this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2529?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
    None of that worked.
On my iPhone, I tried the following:
Turning off backing up for the camera roll.
Deleting the backup for the iPhone in iCloud.
    None of that worked.
I did not want to do a factory restore, so I decided to contact Apple Support.  My case got escalated to a senior advisor.  He suggested that I turn iCloud backup off (Settings > iCloud > Backup > iCloud Backup) and reset all settings on my iPhone (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings).  Once that was done, I reset my phone (press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo) and reenabled iCloud backup.  I was finally able to back up both to iCloud and my computer.  Fortunately, all of my content was preserved.
    I hope this helps.

  • I'm having issues with iCloud backup with comcast since iO6 update

I'm having issues with iCloud backup with comcast since iO6 update.  I'm able to back via work wifi but not at home.  Any ideas?

    Hi BmoreHunter.
As far as using the bridge mode method you'd need to see what CLJDOhas to say, as that user is the only one that I see in this thread who used this method. The method that worked for me is different. I went out and bought a new modem. This made the most sense to me since the firmware in the unit that comcast gave me had issues and I am paying to rent the thing, I figured that I'll save some money if I just buy my own.
I ended up purchasing a motorola SURFboard eXtreme (model SB6121) for $70 (happened to be on sale) from my local Target. For another $7 I was able to secure a 2yr warranty against failure, which was my only hesitation in buying vs renting.
This modem should work just fine for you since you are a comcast customer. If you decide to go with a different modem, the important thing is to make sure that you purchase a modem that is compatible with the technology that your ISP (in this case comcast) uses. Also DOCSIS 3.0 is the "flavor" of cable modem you want as it will give you better performace than DOCSIS 2.0 devices (such as an older Motorola SURFboard).
Once you buy the modem you will have to call comcast and have them add the modem to your account. They'll ask for the MAC address of the modem, then send a re-set signal to it, so make sure you are home when you call and can connect/disconnect the modem as needed. After your modem is added to your account and up and running you can then connect your new AirPort Express to the modem (via ethernet cable) and you should be all set!

  • I have applied the icloud on my sisters id accidently. How can I no w remove this information and set up my own Icloud on another computer with out loosing either of our information from the phone

I have applied the icloud on my sisters id accidently. How can I no w remove this information and set up my own Icloud on another computer with out loosing either of our information from the phone.

Please read before going through with this procedure.
If you really want your contact back and you did not do another iCloud backap since you deleted some of your contacts, you can do a hard reboot on both devices with iClouded contacts by holding down the home and lock buttons on each of them for 10 seconds ignoring the slide to turn off thing. Make sure you have iCloud contact services off before doing so. You can then go through the whole set up process until you get up to the backup part. You then press to restore from an iCloud backup (make sure you choose the right backup for the right phone). If you didn't make an iCloud backup before the contact incident, you will have to use your two-month-old iTunes backups. Each phone should have their contacts the way they were from your last backup. You then go into Settings>iCloud>and turn off contacts. You then can choose if you want to keep your current contacts or not. Turn this off on both phones just incase you add another iCloud device to the mix later on. Now your contact lists are no longer linked (Caution: side effect may include lack of edit button). You may now add and delete contacts as you please without it happening on your other phone.
    Thank you for choosing Apple.

  • How to backup multiple iphones with different iCloud accounts but same apple id?

I would like to back up 3 idevices each with different icloud accounts to itunes. But they use the same apple id so that itune purchases can be installed on each device (2 iphones and 1 ipad).
All I want to do is create a backup in case the phones need to be restored. I also want to back up before downloading iOS 8.
The Macbook Pro that I will back up to has one user and one itunes library.
Is this possible without mixing up address books and contacts etc? Appreciate if some one could direct me to detail step-by-step instructions if they exist or please tell me how I can do this.
    Thanks.

With Family Sharing they don't need to have the same Apple ID anymore.
But backups to iTunes are kept separate among multiple devices; Apple ID and iCloud isn't involved at all. Just make sure the devices do not have the same name.

  • How do I delete an old iCloud account with out knowing the password in order to make a new one

i recently sent my phone to my aunt and she reset the phone but my own iCloud is still on the phone how can she change it with out me giving her my password

That is Activation Lock.  The only way around it is to log in with your credentials.  Go to Settings/iCloud.  Turn off Find my iPhone, and then uncheck iCloud.  At some point you will have to put in your Apple id credentials (the one you use for app purchases).  Then go to Settings/General/Reset and click on Reset All Settings.  I would suggest you select Erase All Contents and Settings.  That will set the phone back to factory defaults.  She can then set the phone up as hers and download the apps she wants with her own Apple id.
    Have a nice day.
