Backup won't complete

Backup worked fine when I first set up my phone but now it starts but comes up with a "backup did not complete" message after a few minutes. It does seem to sync the media however.
I have tried rebooting, pulling the battery, different usb cables, different computers and airplane mode.
Please help!

This is what I get when ever I try to make a backup, some BlackBerry Technical Advisor was suppose to be looking into this a few weeks ago but I never heard any thing back from them since (then again I am not really expecting them to be of any use to begin with), I am more looking forward to get help from the community than those "technical advisor"

Can't use Story, Backup won't complete or cancel!

So I went to back up a project and it won't stop trying to backup the project as result, no mater where I login when I login or what I do when I login it goes back to trying to back up the project and means I can't do anything. Can someone tell me how to get it to stop or fix this. Basicly I can't use story and am losing valuable script writing time. I have only used story for htis project and I have been writing using Story since July 2012, and never had an issue.

Adobe Elements 12 Organizer - Catalog Backup won't complete

I'm new to Adobe. I just started using Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements.
Adobe Elements 12 Organizer reminds me to backup my catalog about every third time I open it.
So, I did a backup to my Drobo5N.
Every single time, no matter how long I let the backup run, it stops at 96% and OS X 10.9.2 shows the program as 'not responding' so I have to force close it.
Any ideas?

Since you are using Premiere Elements, you may have a problem with a video file type.

My iPhone 4 backup to iCloud won't complete.

It gets to one minute remaining, stops and leaves message that last backup was not completed.
I tried powering phone off and on. I closed all open apps. My iPad backed up over the same wireless connection.
I've tried several times on different days; same result.

This may be caused by a corrupt existing backup that needs to be deleted, or by data on your device that is causing the backup to fail. To troubleshoot these, try deleting your last iCloud backup (if you have one) by turning off iCloud Backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage, tap your device under Backups, then tap Delete Backup. Then go back and turn iCloud Backup back on and try backing up again.
If it still won't back up, you may have an app or something in your camera roll that is causing the backup to fail. To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again. If the backup is successful, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is causing the backup to fail and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again. If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again. If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails. Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.

Mobile account won't complete setup, initial sync won't complete.

I'm trying to setup a mobile account but it won't complete the sync process on the client MacBook Pro. Both the server and the MacBook Pro are running 10.5.5.
When I login to client it prompts me to create a Mobile account and proceeds with the sync to create the account, but when the sync is complete it just logs in with the default account setup. None of the user files or settings (desktop image, preferences, etc) appear. The sync process says "Checking..." for all the files that supposedly get copied to the client, but it looks like it doesn't complete.
Is there a way of knowing what the problem is? Is there an issue with the user's home directory, some file that prevents the sync and mobile home creation from completing?

Forgot about getting this problem solved.
The user account that had this trouble had a copy of his home directory from a laptop in his home directory. This backup had it's own Library folder which was confusing the Mobile account sync process.
When I removed the backup home directory, the initial sync went fine.

Won't completely restart!

I downloaded the Pandora app for my phone about an hour ago and it said it needed to reboot to finish the installation. I did so, and now it won't completely restart. It has gone to the Blackberry logo with the loading bar along the bottom at least 10 times. I put it in the charger, and I have taken the battery out twice. What is the deal?

You didn't say how long you're letting it sit there to reboot. It can take 5-7 minutes.
If it doesn't completely reboot, leave the battery out now for over five minutes, replace and try again.
If still nothing, please post back here.

My iPhone 5 won't complete the sync with my PC...

my iPhone 5 won't complete the sync with my PC, says "waiting for items to copy (step 6 of 6)". have left the PC and phone connected for up to 15 hours one time, and the status never changes.

I figure it out. Somehow, in my Advanced settings, password was somehow "de-selected" as my Authentication setting in Incoming Selections. I re-selected it, and now everything is back to normal...

I am working with a client who is attempting to backup to a NAS device
The device is a linksys NSS6000 (Cisco device).
It’s a dual 1Gbit LAN device that supports CIFS / FTP and NFS transfers. It has only 1Gbit lan connected.
The device has 4 * 500 gb sata drives in raid 1 attached.
Cables go from cat 5 to fiber back to cat5. (The NAS is located at a neighboring office) The switches are 1gbit.
Server is a win2k8r1 fully up to date.
When backing up to the NAS device, the following error occurs:
Running backup of volume Local Disk(D:), copied (86%).
Running backup of volume Local Disk(D:), copied (90%).
Running backup of volume Local Disk(D:), copied (94%).
Running backup of volume Local Disk(D:), copied (98%).
Backup of volume Local Disk(D:) completed successfully.
Backup stopped before completing.
Summary of backup:
Backup stopped before completing.
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
If we redirect the backup to a folder on a 2008 share, the backup completes successfully.
Only when backing up to the linksys NSS6000 does the error occur.
No other backup processes are writing to the NAS device so I can't understand why the process thinks the file is
being used by another process.
One thing we did notice that when the backup to the NAS device occurs, throughput is about 150 mbit average
On the 2008 server shares we successfully backup to, the through put is 500 mbit. Not sure if that is important, but
might be worth mentioning.
The following event log entry was noted at the end of the backup.
The description for Event ID '519' in Source 'Microsoft-Windows-Backup' cannot be found.
The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display the message,
or you may not have permission to access them. The following information is part of the
event:'2009-05-12T10:13:31.617Z', '', '2147942432', '%%2147942432'

I am also seeing the same problem backing up nightly to a brand new NAS device (WD My Book Live)

IMac won't complete restart after upgrade to 10.5.6

I recently ran Mac OS upgrade 10.5.6, but iMac won't complete restart. After the apple appears, script appears across screen and a box appears in the middle telling me to restart my computer by "holding power button until shut down, then press on/off button again to restart. Thank you everyone. The correct answer was a kernel panic, and although the resolve kernel panic links above did not offer a successful solution, it was a correct diagnosis. Following the Apple Troubleshooting steps allowed me to determine that a faulty third party keyboard was the cause. Restarting with shift, restarting with 'x,' and restarting with ctrl-option-r-p did not solve the issue. Unplugging the keyboard and restarting did identify the keyboard as the culprit. Thank you all for your help.

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.
If that doesn;t work, you can try updating through iTunes.

Get Info (command-i) on your backup volume, under Sharing & Permissions be sure Ignore Ownereship is not checked marked. Here's what I get for a clone...

TS3992 Icloud backup does not completed after install IOS 8

I recently installed iOS 8 on my iPhone 5s (32 GB). Prior to the install, I had just enough storage to backup on iCloud. However, after the install, it is saying "[a]n additional 3.1 GB of storage is required. This is puzzling because under Manage Storage it says that I have 4.3 GB worth of backups (3.6 for iPhone and 731 MB for iPad), which is within the 5 GB of free storage. In addition when I try to Backup my Iphone several times show me that the Backup is not completed and the last back up was before install IOS 8(17 Sept)
it is probably something to do with the iOS 8 update. This could be the case, although I downloaded and installed iOS 8 via Iphone wireless update, so nothing (I'm guessing?) should have been downloaded onto the phone.
Any help would be appreciated.

I am having this problem too and I saw on another board that it is because it is keeping the copy from ios7 instead of replacing it w/the new one and that the solution is to delete the old backup. I have not verified that this is the correct answer yet as I do not know how to do that, but at least it may get you one step closer.
