Bad audio with Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE)

Video is good, but audio is intermittant, 2 seconds on, 2 seconds off.
Using:
15" Macbook Pro, 2013
OS X version 10.8.5
Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder
Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2
CPU usage is below 50%
Dropped the sampling rate down to 8000 Hz.
Put bitrate down to 48 kbps
Intermittant audio persists.
Above hardware works great with Livestream's Procaster.
Adobe Help suggests ensuring that the buffer length on the subscribing computer is set to a non-zero value.  Where can this be done?

"The audio preview in FMLE indicates there IS audio being input"
How do you know this?
are you "Saving to file"? how is the audio in the saved file?

Video Quality Problem: Action Script netStream X Flash Media Encoder
    Hi,
We're running Wowza to stream a live webcam from a Flex web application (using ActionScript 3 netStream method) for a 1 to 1 video chat.
We are able to stream it properly, but the quality does not look good at all (320 x 240, 300 Kbps, 15 fps).
We tried tweaking the paramenters (quality x bandwidth), but the quality is still surprisingly poor for a H.264 video.
Just out of curiosity, we decided to use Flash Media Encoder 3 to generate a live stream from the very same computer, with the very same webcam, at the very same video specs. The quality is much, much better than the one using the ActionScript 3 netstream approach. The difference is amazing!
So this leads us to believe that the problem is in the "encoder"; the Flash Media Encoder seems to be much for efficient in generating a high quality video stream, compared to ActionScript 3.
My question to you guys is: are we missing something? Are there any parameters on ActionScript 3 or even on Wowza that can increase the quality of video?
Installing Flash Media Encoder on each end user machine is impossible, so we really need this to work on the browser, via Action Script.
In other words: how can I make the quality of the video generated by ActionScript 3 be similar to the one we're able to achieve (remember: under the very same specs) on Flash Media Encoder?
    Thanks in advance,
    Julio Costa

    Hi,
That may not be possible with Flash Media Live Encoder directly. But you can use softwares like WebCamMax on Windows and CamTwist on Mac to add video affects while broadcasting with Flash Media Live Encoder.
You could refer to this post http://forums.adobe.com/message/2711776#2711776 .

  • Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE)

Not sure if this is correct place to ask question for 'Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE)'.
I am using EXE file installed on my PC.
Need to ask if you have any online solution where I don't need to download and install exe file on my PC RATHER everything is web based and I can configure web based Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE).
    Thanks

What's the brand/model of HD IP Cam? Please check whether HD IP Cam use Direct Show or not? as FMLE looks for a "Microsoft DirectShow compatible video capture device".

  • What's difference push stream with server script and push with flash media live encoder??

    Hi
I'm multi point push streaming with adobe flash media server 4
    Stream structure like this
Open Broadcaster Software (or Flash media live encoder) (RTMP) -> Home Flash media server with multi push script (main.asc)
    -> Stream to 2 justintv channels + 1 dailymotion channel (1024x576 , 1750Kbps)
no problem at all when streaming to justintv
but some another stream services have speed problem
ustream can not push with this method
and dailymotion, vaughnlive push speed slow down than OBS or FMLE Direct stream
    for example
when direct streaming with OBS or FMLE (Without home server) , no problem at all stream to dailymotion and vaughnlive
    clearly no lag
but when push with server script, slow down push speed and unstable (it affect only for dailymotion and vaughnlive streams)
justintv upload speed same as OBS, FMLE's bitrate but dailymotion, vaughnlive bitrate always slower than justintv or OBS, FMLE
Like this - justintv , OBS, FMLE (1750Kbps~2000Kbps) but dailymotion, vaughnlive (1600Kbps~1800Kbps)
I don't understand why have push speed difference between server script push and OBS, FMLE push
Have any reason? and do not have solution???
    (sorry for my bad english)

First of all let me clarify that we call multi point publish and it has been explained in detail here
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11a0773d56e -7ffbDev.html
When you do multi point publish(MPP) you publish from one server to another server, when you use FMLE you do a normal publish of stream(s) from a client/encoder(FMLE in this case) to the Adobe Media server.

  • Does anyone knows how can I connect a PXW-X70 camera, to a PC and stream with Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2? I connect the camera using the USB port, when I launched Adobe only shows my webcam. Thank you.

    Equipment:
    PC - Windows 8
    Adobe Flash Media Encoder 3.2
    Camera: Sony PXW-X70
    Thank you....

Just guessing, but Windows wont see it unless you have a driver/interface that makes it appear to windows as a video device.

  • AMAZON Cloudfront & Flash Media Live Encoder

    http://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2009/12/15/announcing-cloudfront-streaming/
I work for a small video company that seeks to expand into live video streaming.  We already successfully use Amazon S3 and Cloudfront and have worked with Flash Media Live Encoder with other types of servers.
What kind of steps would it take to combine FMLE and Amazon Cloudfront to allow live feeds or successful streaming?
It seems like an exciting technology and even more exciting if they two can work together.
    Thank you.
    Shawn

    Thanks for the pointers.
I'd already been using S3 and CloudFront as an FMS solution to serve up videos when I asked the question.
The FAQ refers to some clients using EC2 for Live Streaming.
As I peruse the EC2 area the only thing I see related to this is Wowza.
    http://aws.amazon.com/customerapps/1220?_encoding=UTF8&jiveRedirect=1
I was hoping someone had found a simpler way ... and as I look at the netromedia enhanced offerings in the comments section of that page I'm seeing prices beyond my budget.
    But looking at wowza's EC2 page: http://www.wowzamedia.com/ec2.html
the numbers look more pleasing ... I'll get in touch with them and find out the real deal.
Guess I'll have to familiarize myself with wowza if I want to make it happen for now.
    Thanks again.

  • TimeCode (Systemtime) Undefined in Flash Media Live Encoder

I'm trying to synchronize a presentation with the live broadcast (from FMLE).  I know how to inject cuepoints into a live netstream when I broadcast with flash 9 (instead of using the FMLE).  But how do I inject cuepoints into a live stream from FMLE?  I tried using the Timecode, but for some reason, my FMLE only inserts the system date ("sd") and the system time ("st") is undefined.  Anything I need to set to "activate" this timecode "st" functionality?
    EIGENKET

Thanks for the reply.  The system clock is fine on my encoder - FMLE somehow either cannot read it or cannot insert in into the stream.  It does insert the system date (sd), but it doesn't really help for my slide synchronization.

FMLE takes Time from system clock. Please make sure correct time is set in your system clock.
FMLE takes time from that and shows in 18:27:43.803 (hh:mm:SS:MSEC)

  • Flash Media Live Encoder alpha channel (chroma keying) support

    Hi,
When trying to encode live strem with alpha channel (32 bit) using the latest Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE) I have got no alpha chammel coming out from the encoder heading the FMS.
Is the new FMLE supports alpha channel encoding?
    Thx.

    Hi,
Right now FMLE does not support Alpha channel. Its Video encoeder encodes data from YV12 format.
Even latest release of FMLE is not supporting alpha channel. If you want this to be implemented then you can add this as Enhancement bug in Adobe site for Flash media encoder product.

  • Flash Media Live Encoder Support

Might LCCS's future roadmap include possible support for using Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE) for higher quality video/audio capture and encoding?  Or will LCCS continue to be limited solely to encoding by Flash Player (VP6)
    Thanks,
    g

  • FPS missing in Flash Media Live Encoder

    Hi there,
I'm using the Black Magic Intensity Pro Capture Card.
When I'm trying to connect my camera and stream to the Flash Media Server I can't select the correct FPS cause it's missing in the List. I need to select 50FPS but just got 59,97 as Option. Why is it missing?
I'm using the Software on a MacPro. Any Ideas?
