Bad case of CRS - Lost interface demo

I have a bad case of CRS 'Cannot Remember Stuff'
I have seen a user interface that acts like one of those
SPINNING Order gizmos you may have seen in your local diner.
The Wheel with hooks, spins the customer paper order to the
Cook....
In the sample I saw.... the gizmo spun left or right and when
you clicked on one of the order or hanging objects of focus they
would ZOOM out to you as if using a magnifing glass...
Not sure if I am very clear but any suggestions for a URL
would help...

If you want to recover that you must pay for the software then
When you do the recovery, you will need another disk drive to receive the recovered files
Having install a new operating system on the disk after the retformat is going to gradually reduce the amount of data that this software will be able to recover for you

Known issue : Bad CASE definition files?

Hey guys,
Surprised there isn't a topic on this already.
Since early this morning I have noticed almost all of our e-mails being dropped by CASE - customer e-mails, test e-mails, basically everything externally coming in.
Called Cisco support and apparently they have had a 6-7 tickets with customers complaining about the same thing.
Until that happens, I have change positively identified spam = quarantine instead of dropping.
I suspect a bad CASE definitions file - typo in the regex probably ;)

This should have been pushed and corrected. Please run 'antispamupdate ironport force' from the CLI on the appliance(s), and assure that you are seeing a current time stamp on the rules.
This would have affected 8.5+ revisions, from the information I was provided earlier today.

assuming you didn't/don't use photostream I need a couple things cleared up first... did you back up your phone before updating to iOS 6 and if you did, was it on a PC or Mac?

Sort column by without case sensitive using Comparator interface

When i sorted my values of a column in a table it was showing all sorted upper case letters at top rows and all sorted lower case letters on bottom. So i would like to sort values without case sensitive order. Like. A, a, B, b, C, c....
I am using Collection class to sort vector that contains the values of a column as an object and using Comparator interface to sort the values of a column in either ascending and descending order. It facilitates to compare two objects like.
<class> Collections.sort(<Vector contains values of column to be sort>, <Comparator interface>);
and in interface it compares two objects ((Comparable) object).compareTo(object);
Now Let's suppose i have three values say Z, A, a to sort then this interface sorted in ascending order like A, Z, a
but the accepted was A, a, Z. So how can i get this sequence. I would like to sort the values of a column without case sensitive manner.

Recovery with RMAN in case of complete lost of all files

Hi,
I am using RMAN in nocatalog mode to backup my databases to tape using the RMAN-Module for Legato.
I4ve read that in case of loosing all my controlfiles i cannot easily restore the controlfiles.
Lets assume the following scenario:
I am performing a daily full backup with RMAN in nocatalog mode. Approx. 2 hours after the completed backup my machine crashes and all files (i.e. OS-Files, Database, Controlfiles) are lost.
Now I have to reinstall the OS, reinstall Oracle and restore the backup.
Due to backups made with RMAN in nocatalog mode i have the restore the controlfies prior to restore the database. Metalink says restoring the controlfile from RMAN in nocatalog mode is not that easy.
Is there any way to restore the controlfile from RMAN in nocatalog mode in case of complete crash ??

RESTORE CONTROLFILE FROM 'filename...' doesn't appear to be supported in 8i.
What are the options for 8i?.
I have the backup sets with me from my previous installation before crash which also contains Control files.
However I am unclear as to how to proceed wit RMAN recovery with those files. There seems to be no way to point RMAN to those backupsets since RMAN apparently reads its information from catalog or the control file in case of nocatalog.
I think if there is a way to atleast restore the control file from the backup set, RMAN can proceed since it will find all the other backup details there.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

The case of the missing interface!

My dilemma is this:
I am using a library that has two classes which I will refer to as UntouchableA and UntouchableB individually, and collectively as Untouchables.
These Untouchables have some common methods. However, the author provided NO implements clause in their definition to formalize that they share these common methods.
I have some code that needs to work on both the Untouchables. This code only references methods of the Untouchables which are common to both.
Unfortunately, the obvious solution of creating and using my own version of the Untouchables that extends the Untouchables and implements the common interface will not work for me since I am getting the instances of the Untouchables from other library methods and keeping up with conversions between my Untouchables and their Untouchables would be cumbersome and messy.
The following code demonstrates the problem and one solution to the problem. However, I am not content with this solution and I was hoping someone more knowledgeable than I could demonstrate a more elegant solution (maybe using Generics and/or Reflection?).

However, do your code have to refer to the Untouhables, or does it just need something that provides their functionality?
If you have some latitude there, I'd recommend defining one or three interfaces, corresponding to A, B, and then one that extends both, or else just the one combined one. These interfaces will declare the methods you need to use. (Oh, wait, you only use methods common to both, right? Then you can just declare one.) Then you provide an A implementation and a B implementation to those interfaces, and these implementations delegate to the current UnA and UnB.
Your code never knows about UnA and UnB. Knowledge of their existence is completely confined to the classes that implement the interface that you wish the current UnA and UnB implemented.

Bad performance with Payables Open Interface Import

have a performance problem with the standard program Payables Open Interface Import, as this process is taking a long time to run.
could recommend some patch for this issue or a solution.

There are many reasons this is a performance problem - search in MOS for "APXIIMPT performance" or "payables open interface import performance"
Your best bet is to work this thru an SR.
Have you traced the concurrent to determine where the bottleneck is ? Are statistics current ?

Preview issue in ATG-Endeca integration case of CRS at Endeca side

I'm using ATG 10.1.2 and Endeca with Experiece Manager 3.1.1, both are the most current version coming out at the begining of this new year 2013.
I followed the documents and deployed the Commerce Reference Store (Known as CRS) with option of Endeca integration. Now everything seemed to be ok, and at Endeca side, we could find deployed application of "CRS", and also we could find pages configured in Experience Manager.
But problems come unexpectly. I just configured the preview fuction for both ATG and Endeca. According to CIM, I believe I've configured them correctly, because I got the result that Preview function acts normal at ATG side with BCC. However, once I try to use preview function at Endeca side, firstly a new browser pops up to show the page of CRS, and then a message pops up said: "Error: Your site is not cofigured for Preview correctly. Please contact your administrator."
Why?
And what is the place of log file concerned with this issue could I refer to?

Sad iPad 2 Story (Dead Pixel + Bad Case)

I want to share this experience so that you may not end up like me. I will try to shorten the story, please bear with me.
Just last 10/25, my iPad 2 arrived, I knew that it had arrived because I was informed via sms by my mother who received the unit. (Delivered to the house).
Excited, I bought this case (http://capdase.com/minisite/ipad/en/...28&c3=28&id=96), and when I got home, with utmost care, after removing the plastic, I immediately placed the screen protector then insert the iPad in the case.
The next morning, I find my iPad screen a bit warmer in color... I noticed it immediately given the number of iPads I have used at the office, friends and actually this is our second iPad 2.
After a few days, I now noticed a dead pixel, long story short, I investigated, tested, and I believe I now have a dead red "sub-pixel". This is less than a week in use.
I emailed the store where I got this (from a promo) and I reported the screen to be a bit warmer (yellowish) and the dead sub pixel, they told me to bring the unit over so I did.
They have confirmed a dead red sub-pixel (based on wikipedia and apple) after I demonstrated that a pixel is "black" on red (wallpaper) and not on blue and green. (FYI LCD's are RGB's). They told me a replacement will be ordered in a week's time. I was so happy, because I can't stand a dead subpixel that is on the middle of the screen.
Today was the 7th day and the same day where I supposedly to surrender my defective unit, to my shock, surprise, they told me the unit have dents! I can't believe what I am hearing! The iPad never left the case from the day it went in there!
For illustration purposes, this is where they saw two (2) dents.

Because of the dents, they did not replace my unit, I have no choice but to surrender the iPad so that their main office will decide if this is still fit for replacement. OR just live with it (dead pixel) which is not also a choice for me.
My question is on what occasion did my iPad got the dents... obviously the Capdase case did not do its job. Or I was sold a dead pixel dented iPad 2.
If you are planning to buy this case, DO NOT BUY IT!!! If you have this case already, sell it! Buy a new one! Preferably cases which protects the entire border.
I went home today iPad-less. Sad, frustrated, unknown what will be the fate on Monday next week, the day they will tell me congratulations, you will get a new iPad or, Sorry, we cannot accept your dead pixel ed dented iPad 2.
All this drama, in just 2 weeks and 2 days.
I hope they will still replace it next week

Changes in 2.02 - some good, One very bad BUG = All Music Lost.

Just what I've noticed so far in addition to those listed in the AppleInsider thread (the new animation from Music list and album view is still my favorite). Some minor, some major - especially losing all your Music by runing "Reset Settings". Some may be with 2.01 and I didn't notice them.

6) When I connected to iTunes to resync Music: The option to upload the iPod diagnostics file triggered an automatic backup of my iTouch - presumably due to the contents of the file indicating trouble in the file system?

No, actually, it doesn't. The Apple Store policies explicitly state one download only. That's why, unless you have turned it off, iTunes will warn you to back up your purchases.

Lost interface sounds after connecting iPod

I recently connected a brand-new iPod Shuffle to my G5. I was copying music to the iPod in iTunes when my whole system hung up, spinning beachballs in every app. I had to do a hard reboot to bail out. Now I'm back, the iPod seems fine, but my interface sounds are gone. Startup chime okay, music & movie audio works fine, but no interface sounds. Only the Volume Up and Volume Down sounds. I can't even get the alert sounds to play when I click them in the Sound preferences. Any thoughts? Thanks.

After the hard shutdown you may wish to run Disk Utility (the one on the 10.4.8 drive) and Verify Disk.

The Belkin sport armband. I bought this from the apple online store. It got here. I put my iPhone in it and go for a 3 mile run. I'm able to operate the phone just fine through the plastic covering.
When my run is over, I reach over to unattach the case from my arm, and my phone is partially hanging out. Turns out the plastic front is GLUED onto the outside of the case. What a hunk of junk. One use and it almost cost me my phone.
