"Bad comment content" error while building WDJ DC

Hi folks,
I am using NWDS 7.0.14 and j2sdk1.4.2_17.
I created a WDJ DC in NWDS(with no application or component) and tried to build it. But I get error message saying "Fatal Error: com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException: Bad comment content(file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/swapnil/.dtc/LocalDevelopment/DCs/demo.com/test_two/_comp/gen/default/logs/build.xml".
I uninstalled NWDS, deleted .dtc and .dtr folders and installed it again. But, the error message continues.
Can you please guide me through this problem??
Thanks,
Swapnil.

Thanks for the clue, Ervin.
We checked build.xml file and realized that my pc name contains "--".
"--" marks start/end of comments in XML and that was the reason.
When we removed one hyphen, the problem was solved.
Thanks, again.
Swapnil.

    There is an error while build EXE:

    The exact wording of the error 1502 is:
    "LabVIEW:  Cannot save a bad VI without its block diagram."
    Let me guess:
    You have now a build script with "Enable Debugging" disabled. If you enable this option, building the EXE is possible, but the EXE will most likely not run. Correct?
    It seems to me, that you either have a faulty LV installation or some of your VIs are corrupt. This is something which can happen randomly when upgrading projects from older LV versions. Masscompile/Force compile of the affected VIs CAN help, but it is no promise.
    Please try to break down the issue to a set of VIs (maybe a 3rd party instrument driver?).
    thanks,

  • Getting a bad bind variable error while compiling a custom form in R12

    Hi,
    I am getting a bad bind variable error while compiling a custom form.
    I tried setting the forms_path variable and I am still getting the error. Can anyone please suggest what can be done?
    DECLARE
    BEGIN
    IF :parameter.p_line_ship_to = 'T'
    THEN
    IF :SYSTEM.cursor_item = 'LINE.SHIP_TO'
    THEN
    :parameter.lov_num_param1 := :line.ship_to_customer_id;
    oe_lines.ship_to ('WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM');
    :parameter.lov_num_param1 := :line.ship_to_customer_id;
    END IF;
    :parameter.p_line_ship_to := 'F';
    END IF;
    END;
    I am getting this error:
    Bad bind variable 'parameter.p_line_ship_to'

    The Parameter is not defined in the form.. But, this form is already been compiled and deployed.. I have to make some changes to the form and tried to compile it, when i am getting this error. Is it possible that the parameter would be defined in some other form or can this error be due to some other reasons?
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Error while deploying WDJ code

    Hi All,
    I am getting the following error while deploying WDJ code in NWDS .
    1 . The project was not built due to classpath errors (incomplete or involved in cycle).
    2 .  Missing required library: 'com.sap.security.api.jar'.
    I have put the jar file into the project path but still then i am getting these errors . Please help .
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
    If u are using simple project then then adding jar into application property would do but if using DC then u must follow below procedure.
    You cant just add any external jar file into a DC project.
    There is only one way to add a external jar file is by using external library project.
    1.create an external library project type DC.
    2. put your external jar file into its lib folder.
    3. create its public part of type SDA( Assembly if using CE)...and API( Compilation if using CE).
    4. just use SDA public part into your webdynpro project as used DC.
    5. and when you deploy your webdynpro project on server, this file will also get deployed... remember to use SDA public part..

    Hi Rockky/Wang
                    I have added the following libraries to "Link Binary with Libraries" . I am using xcode 4.0.2 , SDK 4.3 and MAC-OS 10.6 . Libraries are belongs to  SUP 1.5.5. simulator-- iphonesimulator 4.3
    AddressBook.framework
    CoreFoundation.framework
    QuartzCore.framework
    Security.framework
    libicucore.A.dylib
    libstdc++6.dylib
    libz.1.2.3.dylib
    libclientrt.a
    libMO.a
    libSUPObj.a
    After adding all these libraries automatically added path to "Link search path" as follows
    $(inherited)
    "$(DEVELOPER_DIR)/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator4.3.sdk/usr/lib"
    "$(SRCROOT)/../../../libs/Debug-iphonesimulator"
    Header search path i have given as following

  • Error while running WDJ application using jxl.jar

    Hi Experts,
    I am using jxl.jar in my webdynpro java application in CE7.2. I added jxl.jar in java build path and place the jar file in lib directory of webdynpro DC. It shows error in development configuration perspective while building, then i created another DC of type ExternalLibrary and added jxl.jar in libraries folder, then i right click on that jar and published as archive. Then in Development configuration perspective i added ExternalLibrary project to my webdynpro DC, it doen't shows error while building.
    I deployed successfully, when i run the application, it shows the following error. Is there any fault in adding external jar to mt DC? i can't understand where the problem is?

    Hi Pradeep,
    Have you created both compilation and assembly public parts for your Ext Lib, and have you added them both to your Used DC's list?
    Also remember, since you are using an assembly public part, the 'Create Archive' and 'Deploy new archive and run' should not be used!
    Use the DC Build and DC Deploy instead.
    Hope this helps!

  • Error 8 File permission error while building executable for a RT

    I got error 8 File permission error while building executable for a RT. It happened always after build, I mean new startup.rtexe and startup.alias files have been created. At the build properties, it was set use default .alias file.
    I had the executable built successfully at one time.
    The detail message is:
    Visit the Request Support page at ni.com/ask to learn more about resolving this problem. Use the following information as a reference:
    Error 8 occurred at Open/Create/Replace File in RTBEP_Generate_Deploy_Instructions.vi->RTBEP_Invoke_Build_Engine.vi->RTBUIP_Build_Invoke.vi->RTBUIP_Build_Rule_Editor.vi->RTBUIP_Open_Properties.vi->RTBUIP_Item_OnDoProperties.vi->RTBUIP_Item_OnDoProperties.vi.ProxyCaller
    Possible reason(s):
    LabVIEW:  File permission error. You do not have the correct permissions for the file.

    NI-488:  DMA hardware error detected.
    I checked relevant posts, couldn't find any clue.
    Please give me some ideas.
    Thanks.

    Hi Ya-hoo,
    Error building application in LabView 8.0 seems to describe a similar situation. The .alias file is important, as described in that discussion forum.
    Cheers.

  • IP Resource Errors While Building a Windows Failover Cluster on Azure

    I have setup a failover cluster in Microsoft Azure on four VMs. I have two nodes in one subnet/region, one node in another subnet/region and a final node in a third subnet/region. The cluster passed the validation wizard and was successfully built, but the
    two nodes in other subnets will not go online, reporting "Failed to bring the resource 'IP Address x.x.x.x' online".
    Azure Vnet Setup
    Vnet 1 - South Central US - 10.16.16.0/16 - Nodes 1 & 2 - Online
    Vnet 2 - West US - 10.116.16.0/16 - Node 3 - Offline
    Vnet 3 - East US - 10.216.16.0/16 - Node 4 - Offline
    All three IP Address resources are DHCP. I've attempted to make them static but they still failed while coming online. If I click "Information Details" on the error I get:
    Error code: 0x80071397
    The operation failed because either the specified cluster node is not the owner of the resource, or the node is not a possible owner of the resource.
    It seems to be an issue with the way Azure DHCP works, but I'm stalled. There must be a way to get his working. What am I missing?

    Hi Michael Lapidakis,
    Starting in Windows Server 2008, a feature called an “OR dependency” was added to Failover Clustering which gave admins the ability to have nodes with a Network Name that
    could use one IP Address OR another IP Address .In a multisite cluster, it is expected that 1 IP address is offline as it is an OR relationship.
    You can refer the following related article to realize more detail settings of multi-site site cluster IP settings.

  • Error while building an executable from vi

    Hello,
    I am trying to make a .exe file from the VI which includes Vision Aquisition Software also and while building it I get a error message--
    Error 1502 occurred at AB_Source_VI.lvclass:Close_Reference.vi -> AB_Build.lvclass: Save.vi -> AB_Build.lvclass:Copy_Files.vi -> AB_Application.lvclass:Copy_Files.vi -> AB_EXE.lvclass:Copy_Files.vi -> AB_Build.lvclass:Build.vi -> AB_Application.lvclass:Build.vi -> AB_EXE.lvclass:Build.vi -> AB_Build.lvclass:Build_from_Wizard.vi -> AB_UI_Frmwk_Build.lvclass:Build.vi -> AB_UI_FRAMEWORK.vi -> AB_Create_Build_Application.vi -> EBUIP_Global_OnCommand.vi -> EBUIP_Global_OnCommand.vi.ProxyCaller
    Possible reason(s):
    LabVIEW: Cannot save a bad VI without its block diagram.
    Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem ?
    Thanks in advance.

    I had done that and did not work.  I did not get rid of the old build defination, but started a brand new one via Tools>Build Application (EXE) from VI...  I got the same error 1502.  Inspecting the offending VI did not yield any obvious problem with the block diagram.
    Upon searching for error 1502, I found this Know Issue link:
    http://www.ni.com/white-paper/11869/en.  Issue ID 255617 stated:
    Error 1502 can occur if dependencies are placed in non executing case structures
    In previous versions of LabVIEW you could place VIs in a case structure with a constant wired the the case selector. This would load the VIs at runtime. If you have this pattern and attempt to build an executable you could receive error 1502
    Workaround: Don't use unreachable code
    So the issue is I have an case structure with hard coded boolean, so the other case is unreachable.
