Bad connection

I'm trying to import video but FCE can't find my camera.  It could be a defective cord.  Does the IEEE 1394 have to have a firewire connection  OR can it use a USB connection?

>>Does the IEEE 1394 have to have a firewire connection  OR can it use a USB connection?<<
Firewire IS IEEE1394; more precisely it is Apple's trade name for the IEEE1394 standard.  Sony's trade name for the same standard is iLink.
USB (Universal Serial Bus) is not IEEE1394.

  • Thunderbolt to FireWire adaptor/Bad connection?

Has anybody had the same matter as I have? Please let me know!
'Thunderbolt to FireWire Adaptor' I bought doesn't properly fit in the Thunderbolt socket of my Macbook Air (that Thunder mark on it).
It does a half of it and doesn't go deeper. I'm sure any info of photos and videos I saw online that people uploaded look it fits in all, but mine doesn't.
Is this normal? One I found on Apple Support Community says
'Be wary of the bad connection with the adaptor though, it falls out with the slightest movement.'
It sounds like talking what the same I have. If it's so, I can use it even it properly not goes in? or I can claim the tech support?
If anybody knows info, please let me know! Will appreciate it. Thank you!!

    Yikes, that's sad to hear.
I can't test it, no TB here, but are all these drives self AC powered, ie. no bus powered drives?

  • When in group chat, skype has bad connection and games lag

Okay so I have searched almost every related post and cant find this exact issue and ive tried all the standard stuff to fix internet issuesWhat happens is So I moved to a new house and had no internet for 2 weeks starts may 20th about, and we got internet around june 5th. Ever since then when I join a group call with my 5 local friends Ive been in a group call with for 4 years i have bad connection and when i play online games it lags. It use to affect my internet browser, google chrome by making stuff stop loading but that isnt the case anymore. I have tried many things. Like recently I join skype group call and it seems to be fine but once i join their terraria server both skype lags and terraria and I end up losing connection. I have a theory but there still a lot of variables. Whenever my one friend is in the group call i lag a lot more than I usually do, but not everytime, and sometimes i still lag when hes not in the call. Its also him hosting the terraria server where its really bad. It has been like this for other games too though and I have tried many solutions. I feel like maybe its a bandwith thing but i get over 100 mbs download speed and around 15 mps upload speed and low ping. I can also download 2 games and play a online game with 0 problems but once skype is involved it becomes terrible.I really would like a fix, I have used skype forever and I dont think my friends really wanna use anything else.I got windows 10 about a week ago, the beta, but it did it on windows 7 too.I have also tried downloading older skypes but it keeps downloading the newer one automatically even with automatic updates off. Also when I lag on skype the little refreshing/connecting icons comes up and I lag to my friends, but I never hear them lag.

If you are swapping out operating systems and nothing is changing then the variables you need to look into are: 1,  Your wired/wireless connection.  Try wired if going wireless as you may have issues sustaining a good connection with the myriad of ports Skype uses.  This can be due to distance, interference or other factors. 2,  Try bypassing your router and go directly connected to your modem (if possible).  Issues with the router firmware, its configuration or the limitations of the  router itself could be causing bandwidth related issue.  Going wired to the modem would be ideal.  3. You can try disabling/enabling uPnP in your router to see if that makes a difference.  Some routers handle uPnP well, others have performance issues with it.  4  Cable modem/Line issues -  You could have stability issues due to the quality of the modem based off standard/tier.  You could have line conditions that affect upload/download stability or both, under load. I've had issues with Skype that were related to my wireless router firmware.  I've also had to swap out my modem to a more compatible and higher tier one (twice) when my ISP performed infrastructure changes.

  • Client not associating to closest AP bringing bad connectivity

    Hello,
We have installed 40 AP in our building, thus using Cisco 1010/1020 Ligthweight AP and 4400-50 series Contollers.
In some places, the laptop connect sometimes to bad signal AP instead of the one beeing vary close, thus bringing vary bad connectivity.
Any Ideas or Advice to customize the system to solve this issues?
    Thanks.

    Hi thanks for the info,
The connection utility change for most of the people (its a open Wifi)
Actually I could improve by 2 ways.
    1. As you said, the client -> when possible I made sure to have the last driver.
    2. Frequency control -> I used Airmagnet, it helped a lot to see where conflict could occur.
    Thanks

I just got my iPad and the iMessage was working and than all of a sudden it stopped and when I tired to log back in, it said I had a bad connection which I didn't. So it won't let me use my iMessage

Check Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is also set correctly.
If that didn't solve the problem, restart your iPad and try again. If that fails, reset your iPad and try again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • After updating to ios7 my 4S keeps dropping calls and having a bad connection?

I recently received a refurbished "like new" 4S from Verizon, which was working fine until I did the ios7 update.  I did a network reset and that didn't help, and then I did a hard reset and still the same problem.  Is this a phone issue? or a Verizon issue? I've heard of other Verizon customers having the same problem.  Everytime I make a phone call I have bad connection and then the call just drops.  In places, I used to have a 5 bar signal, I now have 2. What else can I do to fix this?

    reset all settings
    settings-general-reset-reset all settings
    now reconnect to wifi
settings- wifi- click network name- enter password - join
if issue persists back up and restore as new via iTunes
    Peace, Clyde

  • Bad connection using facetime with ios 7

when i use facetime its really bad connection keeps feezing since updating to ios 7 on my ipad mini was never like this before i have fibre broadband so its not my internet as that is super fast i have also noticed that the new update is very slow and sluggish when using certain features has anyone else experienced this

I know you can't restore a backup with ios7 and Find My Ipad turned on. I would first set it to Never update device, an don't restore backup and see if that will allow you apply the profile. If that doesn't work. I'd do a complete wipe of the device, prepare it again and then try to install the profile.

  • Bad connection with Facetime

    Hi everyone,
So since I've updated to OS x Yosemite, my Facetime will jump to 'bad connection' after several minutes. I know that there's nothing wrong with the internet, because it works fine and I've changed and checked it different times.
Does someone has this problem too?

Ok, I have tested it with a Free SIM card.
The result of the test is:
-Facetime works with occasional time-outs when using a Free SIM card over 3G.
-Facetime does NOT work at all ("poor connection") when using an Orange SIM over 4G.
As Facetime was working without any problems over Orange 4G until last Christmas, and it has never worked since,  this looks very much like an Orange netwqork problem.

  • Bad connection using Skype on Ipad and IMac

I have skype on my imac and on my ipad. I am trying to skype someone who is using my ipad in Spain. last night we spoke easily and it was very clear. Tonight it is really bad, with what seems to be a lot of interference and also breaking up. Using WiFi at both ends. I also updated my version of skype on my iMac, this evening before calling? Any ideas, very much appreciated x

That is probably the nature of Skype. Generally when I use it which is at least twice a week it is reasonable, other times excellent and others very poor, with dropped calls and frozen video.
If you both have good internet connections, i.e you both can connect to other web sites OK then it is just the way it is sometimes.
Unless of course any body else can suggest other ideas to help.

  • Static / Bad Connection for External Bose Speakers?

    Hello Everyone;
I recently bought a new 24" iMac and bought a set of Bose Companion speakers to go with it. I've plugged them into the headphones jack using the cable provided by Bose, but my sound quality is really bad. Theres a lot of static in the music, and by moving the 1/8' male connector that plugs into my iMac around or touching it while music is playing causes more static or sound failure - making me think it may be the connection at the computer. On the other hand, I'm not quite sure if the cable I'm using is an "optical digital audio out port" as described in the Mac manual. I haven't seen an optical digital 1/8" cable, so this is making me think the cable is the problem. The speakers run spdif out to 1/8".
So before I take my mac to have it looked at, does anyone have any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong, or should be doing and or using differently? Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks;
    Steve Masten

    Hi Steve,
I have exactly the same problem with my new iMac and my Bose Companion speakers (the ones with the 2 small cubes and a sub). The Bose speakers do not use a digital audio connection - so using Toslink would not be the answer.
I double-checked the connection on the back of the iMac and found that I was able to push the plug in a little bit more (it sort of clicked into place) - and that definitely helped some. As long as nobody touches it, it runs static-free....but even the slightest touch on the cable (or even the iMac sometimes) results in horrible static.
I'm considering trying another set of speakers because of this issue. I'm calling Bose tech support tomorrow because of this issue to see if they have any suggestions. I'll post back if I get any good info from them.

  • Bad Connection to carradio via aux-in

Wehen I connect my New iPod nano to my Car Radio by aux-in there is a Constantin Stativ. This didn't occur with my Old iPod nano 3rd Gen. Can I change anything on my ipod's Präferenzen?

There is a constant loud static which influences the sound very badly. Can it possibly depend on the fact that the ipod radio uses the the cable as antenna, although the radio is not on. The sound is in all functions.

  • E4200 bad connection + slow

    hey,
i just bought an e4200 and i have problems with the connections,
if i am sitting directly next to the router the connection works fine,
i can download with my laptop with wireless lan with about 3.5 to 5 mb/s, and 7 mb/s when i am connected with a lan cable,
the problems begin when i am in the other, the connection is extremly bad (2 or 3 bars on the laptop)
and i can only download with about 400-500 kb/s, with my desktop pc it is even worse, i have one bar and
the connection drops constantly and i download with about 20-80 kb/s per second, i use as a wireless lan card -  a
    linksys wmp600n,
the distance between the rooms is maybe 10 meters
the settings for both 5ghz and 2.4 ghz are mixed and everything set to auto (i tried with different setups, eg only 5ghz, but nothing helped, in fact with only 5ghz the connection was even worse)
i even tried it with another wireless lan card, but the tp link card i have could barely find the e4200,
both wireless cards should work fine when i tested them with the hotspot functionality of my android (funny thing is even my android phone could produce a better connection from the other room than the router)
i also tried different drivers for the linksys wireless lan card (didn't help)
firmware of the e4200 is up to date
i have no idea what to do anymore

hey, first of all, thanks for the quick replies
i changed the settings in the advanced wireless settings
my laptop seems to work fine now, i pull down 2.5 to 4 mb/s (depending on network mode, n+mixed is up to 4mb/s, g is only up 2 mb/s, bars are 3-4)
but the desktop pc is still a problem
no matter which network mode i use the connection drops constantly,
i have only 1 or 2 bars and the speed is still ~20-50 kb/s
and often the router doesn't even show up on the pc
maybe it's an issue with the linksys wirelss card? though it works with the old router
the settings for the wireless card:
shows up as "linksys wmp600n wireless-n pci adapter..." in the device manager
