Bad Disc error after burning

Hi guys, Ive just finished making a dvd in Final Cut express and have exported all the files ready for Burning onto a dvd.
I thought i had done it correctly but after a few attempts every disc comes up 'Bad Disc' when i try to play it through a dvd player. But will play when i put it im my Mac with no probs at all.
This has been filmed with PAL sony cam (as i live in Australia) and i think i have all the settings set up for PAL in the DVD studio pro. Can anyone explain or think why this is happening?
Thanks
Nathan

Did you make an HD DVD? (Take a look at what folders are being created in you build destination, if you see something other than VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS, you probably made an HD DVD. Open the DVD in Finder and see if HVDVD_TS is on the disc.)
You cannot change a HD project to SD once it is HD so it needs to be recreated. In preferences you can set the default to SD.
Also, did you set a first play on the DVD?

  • Bad Character Errors after Unicode implementation???

    Hi,
Uncode is implemented in BW Development system in my project. While prforming unit testing after implementing the unicode, we faced an issue of bad character in Sort field while loading data for 0VENDOR master data. Till now we used to correct this kind of error in PSA level and reload the data from PSA to Data target in production. I hope, this kind of error should be resolved after implementation of Unicode Conversion project. But, even after implementation of Unicode, we faced this problem.
Can you please confirm me my understanding is correct - after implementation of Unicode, bad character errors will disappear?
    Best Regards,
    Venkata.

    HI again,
I would like to correct my statement above. I did encounter an error during the import phase (ie. import abap) where it stopped at SAPDFACT.
I changed the  "err" to "ok" in the tsk file to continue cuz I couldnt find any other alternative working. On browsing other forums I have come to conclude that is the problem for sure.
Can you please help me figure how to resolve the issue please .. ??
    thank you!

  • Repeated "Bad Request" errors after clearing cache, cookies, and cookies.sqlite

I get repeated "Bad Request" errors when submitting forms, logging in/out of sites, etc. I get this on a wide variety of sites. I have tried repeatedly clearing all cache and cookies. And I just tried disabling all my add-ons (only have 4) and then deleting the cookies.sqlite file and this still made no difference.
I am using Mac OS 10.5.8 and Firefox 5.0.1 but I have been experiencing this problem in past versions as well, maybe as far back as the latest firefox 3. My main motivation for upgrading Firefox multiple times was hoping this problem was corrected. It never used to happen, it just started happening all of a sudden. It has never occurred on Safari and I am still able to get any site that doesn't work properly to work on Safari without any problem.
I experience this on many sites. One reliable cause of it is logging out of Facebook.

You did delete all cookies.* files ?
If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file <i>cookies.sqlite</i> that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b> (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> and <b>cookies.txt</b>, if they exist, in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Cookies#Removing_cookies
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile:
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

    Hello Babita,
For which version are u applying this note?? Is it for 4.7??
I checked the note  and for r/3 release 4.7 there are two correction instructions.
Implement them in the following order
    1. Correction instruction 434275
    2. Correction instruction 434276
Please make sure you have implemented both corrections.
In code comparison editor you can check the code difference by clicking the "next code difference" tab in toolbar. It will tell you which code changes are missing.(You can see the required code changes just by clicking the correction instructions 434275 and 434276).
    Hope this will helpful.

  • Bad quallity film after burning dvd with idvdv professional quality.

After making a movie in imovie and importing it in idvdv the quality is still HD
after burning a dvd with professional quality the quatity of the dvdv is very poor. Horizontal lines are dancing over the screen!!
Can anyone tell me wat is going on???

Keep in mind that all Dvd's burned through your mac and are playable on your mac as well as your set top DVD player are ALWAYS standard definition /SD. There is no way around this (that is if your intentions is for playback on most computers and most set top Dvd Players.
One of the limiting factors is apple's dvd player app. It isn't fully blu-ray compatible yet. Meaning that even if you did burn a high def. Dvd which is only playble on Sony's PS3 and most set top Blu-ray players .... the finished Dvd won't play on your mac since apple has yet to update/upgrade their DVD Player application to fully incorporate Blu-ray standards. To the best of my knowledge, apple's support is very limited here. Hence the alternative for mac users is to use Roxio Toast's Blu-ray plug in as well as Toast Blu-ray player. If you opt to go high def through Toast then the completed Dvd will NOT play on most set top dvd players but will on most Blu-ray Players as well as Sony's PS3.
Hope this advice helps but if not just come on back.

  • 400 bad request error after Firefox 4.0.1 update

After the latest Firefox update, the browser no longer works. When I try to go to a web site, Firefox sends the URL incorrectly by repeating the url. For example: if I type the url http://my.yahoo.com/, I get the following error:
    400 Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand:
    my.yahoo.comhttp://my.yahoo.com/ (port 80)

Thank you again for your help. After clearing the cache and cookies, and still having the problem, I uninstalled/reinstalled firefox. I had tried this before, but allowed it to keep my bookmarks, etc.. This time I had it remove everything (this is a check-box when doing the uninstall).
After reinstalling Firefox this time, the problem went away. Thank you for your help. Your comment about the cache and cookies, made me think that removing all information during the uninstall would help, and it did.
I don't know if your second suggestion would have helped, because it is now fixed.
But I believe it was a possibility.

    Javi,
If it is a matter of bit rate changes (I'm unsure as I am new to DVD SP)
maybe the following will help, in regards to duration and best bit rates.

  • DVD error after burning Video DVDs

    Hello anyone,
I am using my T500 with WinXP SP2 as an mobile editing system. Unfortunately I experienced some problems burning Video DVDs on the installed HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-U20N drive. Eventhough the final DVDs work sofar on all PCs and Apple systems that I have tested but they don't work on some standalone DVD Players. The same disc image, burned on a different PC produces correct DVDs though. I update the drive's firmware but no difference, lowered the speed again no difference. Used NERO 6 and cloneDVD same poor result.
    Would appreciate help
    thanks in advance

when you say different PC, did you burn it in a PC dvd burner or a laptop dvd burner??? Have you tried to change the brand of the dvd burnable to see whether it might solve the problem??

  • IDVD8 has audio errors after burn

I am using iDVD8 to create slideshows with pictures and movie clips. The project runs correctly on the computer, but when the project is burned to DVD, long slide shows have an error. Somewhere between 13 and 14 minutes, the audio jumps so that it is out of synch with the project design.
I have done all the software updates for iDVD. I have restarted the computer. Have readded the music from iTunes. I have burned a disk image. I have burned the DVD at 1x speed. I have even aggregated the iTunes playlist into a single song using GarageBand. The problem persists. I am beginning to suspect that iDVD does not like slideshows longer than about 13 minutes. Arggh!
Yes, I could dump it all through iMovie, but then I lose the major plus of being able to flick between slides in the slideshow.
I have scoured this list and the net but have found no answers on this one. Does anyone have any ideas?
    Looking forward to any feedback.
    Craig

  • How do I burn a DVD R disc with Windows Movie Maker?  It indicates disc error on my DVD player.  Someone thought it had something to do with Itunes?  I reloaded Itunes 1 month ago and had no problem creating this disc then.  Help

I have made several DVD+R discs in the past using Windows Live Movie Maker sucessfully.  I made one about one month ago for my son's b-day.  I am using the same discs as I had then.  When I tried to burn the disc, it indicates that it is burning, however, when I insert it into the DVD player at home on our TV (like I"ve always done), it indicates disc error.  Someone mentioned that the burner goes out every now and then when Itunes is uploaded?  When I burn the disc, I can pull it up on my home and work computers, so I know that it is there.

Yes, you can distribute a burned disk of the project to those who can create duplicate disks.  Or create a disk image of the iDVD project using the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option.
Then you can distribute the disk image to those who will burn the disks.  For PCs you'll have to convert the .dmg file to a .iso file so they can burn it.  This website describer how: Mac Help - Convert and Burn Mac .dmg or .img to .iso Windows PC-Compatible Disk Image
Suggest to them to burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
It would be prudent to rest your optical drive for about 30 minutes after burning 3 disks in a row. That will give the laser time to cool down before you start another batch.

  • After burning 3 dvds, got error 0x80020022 on MATSHITA DVD-R   UJ-845 Drive. Used 1x speed. iMac G5 PowerPC

    MATSHITA DVD-R   UJ-845:
    Error message: 0x80020022.
Got this after burning 5 other discs. Two of which didn't burn and ejected. When I inserted them again, they did not appear on desktop. Had to use Disc Utility to eject them.   After those two issues, this message showed up when re-trying the burn process.
What must I do to get this drive to burn the discs?

Thanks for the info.  I have another question pertaining to your answer:  "What speed would be best to use so the drive doesn't become HOT--- lowest speed for a longer period of time. . . OR . . . at a faster speed for a lesser time?
Also, I tried using it half-hour later and got same result.  I then waited 1 hour longer and it worked then.
Thanks to all letting me know to cool it off!
