Bad display UTF-8 czech character SPA 504 FW 7.4.8a

I use some some czech character in phone config file: Example:
<Default_Character_Encoding ua="na">UTF-8</Default_Character_Encoding> <!-- options: ISO-8859-1/UTF-8 -->
<XML_Directory_Service_Name ua="na">Centrální adresář</XML_Directory_Service_Name>
<XML_Directory_Service_URL ua="na">http://10.76.66.1:83/webapp/cisco_dir_search.py</XML_Directory_Service_URL>
And it works ok in FW 7.4.8a on display is correct czech chars "Centrální adresář", but not works in 7.4.9a 7.9.4c and new 7.5.1a too. It shows something as "CentrÅilnå_ adres~aiÅ>)"
Is some solution how to fix this ?

This is not not solution, our customers want full czech support, phone have UTF-8 characters in czech menu ok, in xml ok, only string from provisioning is bad. It was completly ok in older FW. Now we have 7.5.3 FW  and it still have same problem. Cisco support for their products is horrible.

  • Crystal Report 9 - Can't Display UTF-8 Data

    Dear Sir,
I am using PHP with Crystal Report 9.2 and has problem displaying UTF-8 data from MSSQL field. It shows weird characters instead. I am very sure the data stored in database is in UTF-8 because when I ouput it into the web browser with encoding as UTF-8, it shows correctly. Currently is using ADODB recordset to pass data into CR. I tried using ODBC to connect directly to database and preview the data - same issue.
Now I wonder whether are there any settings need to be done in CR in order to display unicode correctly? From what I read, CR 9 and above should be able to support unicode.
    Thanks
    AL

To be honest, I have no idea if TTX files supported UTF-8... I kinda doubt it. I'd check, but the only person I knwo of that may have a clue is not in until September 28...
Re. ODBC, see if adding the following option to your DSN entry in the odbc.ini file will help:
stmt = SET CHARACTER SET utf8
Also, if I remember right, MS SQL does not install UTF-8 support by default (at least at one time or another it did not...(?).
Oh - one more thing. I've attached a non CR app that I'd like you to use to see what the data it returns looks like. Please give that a try.

  • PDF output not printing specific Czech character

    Hi,
On the XML template i have harcoded some Czech characters like, měna & Peněžní
if any Czech character has small v on top of the character, then the report output prints as ? instead of that character. For examplae, měna & Peněžní in PDF output prints as m?na & Pen??ní . It prints rest of the Czech characters correctly. The issue happens only with PDF output. When i keep the Format as EXCEL then it prints the Czech characters correctly. Can any one help me on this issue.
    Thanks

  • Bad display when configuring my Linsys router with Safari

    Hi,
I have a Linksys router (WRT54G v1.1 firmware 4.20.7) that I configure with my browser.
When I use Safari all popup menu have a bad display, something like:
    "Capture(share.auto)Auto"
While the same popup from Firefox will give me the result:
    "Auto"
    Only.
This was working well before, I can't remember if it was a router update or a Safari update that make the changes, but with Safari 1.x it was OK for sure.
Any way to reset it to the default behavior? What settings need to be change in Safari to get the right result?
The major problem is that display is confused and lines are longer than normal, so that mean the display is fuzzy...

I just sent a feedback to Apple, hoping they will find and solved the problem here...

  • Getting zero to display as the first character

I know this should be simple, but I'm trying to get a zero to display as the first character in a field when necessary.  For example last 4 of SSN.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
You can achieve this in the Patterns dialog. Select the object and go to the Object > Field palette. There you can click the Patterns button and edit the Display Pattern.
For example, this would display a number without leading zeros: 12
    num{zzz9}
Whereas if you use 9 it will display leading zeros: 0012
    num{9999}
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

I want application name can display more than 13 character.
Could you tell me how to fix this problem?

Backup and restore your software via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a NEW device. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.

  • Bad display, use only external montior?

I recently acquired a PB Ti with a bad display. Further, both hinges were cracked off entirely so the screen was only attached by the wires. I'm heading out of town and wanted to get this machine set up for a friend to upgrade from their iMac G3. My thoughts were that i'd just cut the wires from the PB screen, thus removing it completely and attach an external montior.
Now, i only get a black screen on the monitor - no sign of life. The PB boots up fine (and when the display was attached it did support multiple displays) Is there a way to get around this? It seems as though the motherboard needs that electrical loop to know it has a display before it can send a signal to an external display. Anyone with experience please comment - thanks in advance!

You might try seeing if "closing the lid" on the TiBook will cause it to completely ignore the built-in display. I realize you can't close the lid since it is gone. But the way the TiBook thinks that there is a closed lid is through a magnetic sensor located under the trackpad. Depending on which model it is, the mag sensor is either to the left or right side of the trackpad. What I would try is this: Boot the Mac to a point where you are pretty sure the OS is running. Take a magnet off your fridge and slide it around slowly on the trackpad. At some point, the sleep light should come on meaning you have located the mag sensor. Now, try attaching an external display and waking the TiBook by plugging a USB mouse in. Make sure the TiBook's AC adapter is connected. Hopefully the external screen will now light as the primary screen and the missing lid will be ignored.
Another thing you might want to check, if you really did just cut the wires off, is that there aren't shorted out wires at the point where the cuts are. Sometimes on narrow pitch ribbon wire and other wire with closely spaced conductors, cutting through them will cause adjacent lines to short together. You might need a magnifying glass to check that and clean up the rough cut if necessary.

  • Font not displaying/loading correctly in Character Pallet

I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and Creative Suite CS5, Adobe Illustrator CS 15.1.0. I'm using Suitcase Fusion 4 ver. 15.0.5 (latest version).
I'm having a problem with 2 of my fonts loading correctly in illustrator's Character pallet. They display like a missing fonts in the character pallet as shown in my screen shot with "less than" characters around them: < Carta >, , < ITC Zapf Dingbats >
These fonts and files do not give me warnings for missing fonts. The files print and rip correctly. The font displays correctly in illustrator when I use them in a layout (as shown on pic). They also display correctly and are fine in all other applications: Quark, InDesign, Photoshop etc. My fonts are setup correctly, pared down system fonts, other user folders emtpy etc. I have font nuked with Suitcase, Font Nuke and did a safe start up to clear font caches. several times. I've also removed these fonts from suitcase and loaded them in my system folder to see if that fixed it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. These fonts are used 1,000's of pages/files so replacing them with another verion isn't really an option.

They are probably a very old Type 1 font. Try checking the dates on the font files. Your best bet would be to get the OpenType versions of those fonts and install them.

  • Lync in combination with Plantronics P540-M: Display changes to logographic character set

    Hello,
I've recently started to use Lync on my iMac 21,5" from 2011. Now the program itself works fine until i connect a Plantronics P540-M usb phone. Lynn keeps operating as it should apart from the fact that
the display on the Plantronics phone changes to some sort of asian character set. I'm using Lync version 14.0.10.
Does anyone recognise this problem and have a solution for this?
    With kind regards,
    Patrick van Kleeff
    Windesheim University of Applied Sciences

Language is passed to phone from Lync.
    Try this:
Go to System Preferences – Available from the Apple menu.
Click on Language & Region – It is the flag icon in the top row of icons.
Make sure English is the primary language. If another language is listed, remove it.
    Reboot
    Launch Lync
If that does not work try this:
Change the language from "English-Primary" to "English-US"
    Reboot
Go back into Settings, Language & Region
Change the language back to "English-Primary"
    Reboot
    Launch Lync

  • TextEdit doesn't display UTF-8 characters corrrectly

I have a plain text file with some German umlauts, encoded in UTF-8. When I select this file in the Finder, the umlauts are displayed correctly in the Preview. However, if I double click on that file to have it loaded into the TextEdit program, the umlauts are displayed incorrectly.
The screenshot at ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/pub/etc/mac-osx-utf-8-bug.png shows the Finder's window in the background, and the TextEdit window in the foreground.
When I explicitly load the file into the TextEdit program, with "Plain Text Encoding" set to "Unicode (UTF-8)" the text is displayed correctly. Only with "Automatic" it doesn't work.
Am I doing something wrong here, or is this an actual bug in TextEdit?
    Franz
Mac mini   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Well, the "Notepad" editor on Windows XP does it
correctly with both UTF-8 and ISO8859-1 umlauts.
I think Notepad identifies UTF-8 correctly because Windows (unlike other OS's) puts a BOM at the start of UTF-8 files. Normally you only see this at the start of UTF-16 files, which many text editors can identify correctly.
However, if the Mac user clicks on our German
README text file and has "Plain text file encoding"
set to "Automatic" (which apparently is the default),
    he sees broken umlauts.
Yes I think Automatic means MacRoman. One possible solution is to use either rtf or html for the readme. I think the encoding for these will be recognized correctly. You could also try putting a BOM at the start of your UTF-8 plain text file.
I was unter the impression that "UTF-8" was the
plain text format on the Mac
No, OS X stores data internally as UTF-16. Anything using xml will be UTF-8, and that's now the default encoding in Mail for lots non-Roman scripts, but otherwise the other encodings seem to have pretty equal status.
