Bad display when configuring my Linsys router with Safari

Hi,
I have a Linksys router (WRT54G v1.1 firmware 4.20.7) that I configure with my browser.
When I use Safari all popup menu have a bad display, something like:
"Capture(share.auto)Auto"
While the same popup from Firefox will give me the result:
"Auto"
Only.
This was working well before, I can't remember if it was a router update or a Safari update that make the changes, but with Safari 1.x it was OK for sure.
Any way to reset it to the default behavior? What settings need to be change in Safari to get the right result?
The major problem is that display is confused and lines are longer than normal, so that mean the display is fuzzy...

I just sent a feedback to Apple, hoping they will find and solved the problem here...

I've got a problem with safari and my netgear router WGT624v2. In a fromer safari version it was possible to configure the router via the config-page. But with my current safari version it is not possible. I can logon, but to only thing I coud see is cryptic HTML-Code. Firefox isn't able, too. The only browser which could manage this is MS Internet Explorer.
Maybe this has something to do with active x? Could a former safari version handle active x, and the current could not?
Does anybody have the same problem?

How apply cgi on Linksys router with safari

I'm having issues of setting preferences on a Linksys router with Safari and a Mac. Am I missing a setting on Safari to allow cgi?

I want to set how many users allowed on my small local network. I can use a different browser to accomplish this but would like to use Safari. From time to time I do maintenance on the router and need to access the router preferences. Also at this time trying to trouble shoot the router for not allowing PC's to show up on the network FInder, a completely different problem and off topic.

Hello Eben,
Peter has suggested to use SSH because of the fact that telnet data is sent in clear text, so someone with the right tools could easily find your password and your device could/would be compromised. It is security best practice. SSH is encrypted.
Technically speaking you do not need to change the hostname / domain name. But majority of Cisco documentation follow this method.
In case you are interested on how to do this without change... see below.

The normal cases just as shown in Cisco documentation, the parser (without a label on the crypto key) would force us to change the hostname, create a domain name. I think the domain name is there to put a label on the keys.

Configure WRT54G Wireless Router with PUBLIC IP address and use DHCP for internal computers

Hi,I have an Internet online service with 5 public IP addresses. The router and the AP are connected to a switch. I would like to configure a WRT54G wireless router with one of this IP public Address and use DHCP (with private ip address) for the computers that will connect to the AP. As the AP is connected to the switch it is possible that other wired computers that are connected to the same switch can obtain an IP address from the DHCP ?

After connecte the equipments the way you suggestI setup a static IP address (The public IP) in the WRT54GI enable DHCP in the WRT54G with a range from 10.10.0.100 to 10.10.0.200 (as an example) The gateway is the Public IP address right ? Things I need to know when swapping out old router with Airport Extreme?

Hi, having been given some good advice in other areas of this forum, I've decided to swap my current D-Link router with an Aiport Extreme. I recently added an Airport Express and Time Capsule to my current wireless network (as 'join current network wirelessly') hoping to avoid the changing or my current router. However it appears to get the best and most flexible performance I need to go that further step. I've not done this before, having had the network setup by the ISP. What do I need to know, be aware of prior to unplugging my current router? Like:
Should the airport extreme just 'work' once I plug it in? Other than the normal set up process. Or:
Will the cable modem (Motorola SBV5121) require reconfiguration or some form of sync with the router?
Will I need my password and ID from the ISP for the new router? I currently only have the the current router password - no idea what the ISP ID and password is, they were set by the guy installing - yes I know I should have written them down somewhere.
Any traps or challenges I need to be aware of that is not covered in the printed material?
I have heard ISP's will generally not assist with this as it is not viable for them to try and help, understandable. So I just wanted to be as prepared as possible.
Any thoughts or experiences or pointers to documentation would be greatly appreciated.

My safari will not open after downloading librooksbas.dylib plug in. message that is displayed when i try and open is "safari quit unexpectedly while using the librooksbas.dylib plug in" i can either re-open or ok the error to which neither work :(

i have tried the terminal code thing where you enter certain words then press enter and it worked but as soon as i restarted it and opened safri the error message apperarewd again my software is OS X 10.9.1

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to gather information about the state of your computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it on this page. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the request of a stranger on a public message board. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know your password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line "[Process completed]" to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report your results. No harm will be done.
8. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Img alt="text" not displayed when images are turned off in Safari

I have tried to search this, but every search has returned too many posts, so I apologize in advance.
Have I made some error or is there an issue with my Safari? For some reason my Safari does not display alt="text" when images are turned off?
This is what is supposed to happen (see http://www.w3schools.com/tags/attimgalt.asp) and it works fine in my other browsers (Opera, FF), but with Safari I get nothing - no image, no alt text, no indiciation that an image is supposed to be in that place. According to w3c, Safari is supposed to be compliant.
There is no problem with the site itself, I am designing the site and test with and without images to see how it degrades. As I said, it works properly in Opera and FF - the alt="text" text is displayed in place of the image - but not in Safari.
Is this just my Safari? How do I fix this if it is?

It's not just you. I see the same thing in my Safari. It appears to be a Safari problem, in which case the best thing to do is submit feedback to Apple's developers via the Mac OS X feedback form. (You will not receive a response, as that page notes, but the feedback will get to the people who can use it.)

My macbook air won't detect display when trying to hook up with mini port and hdmi cable

MacBook Air using Sony TV as monitor via Thunderbolt and HDMI.
I could not get my 32inch Sony Bravia to "see" my 2102 MBAir using the Thunderbolt-to-HDMI adapter and a known good HDMI cable.
So I took my MBAir to my local Apple Store,Encinitas California, along with the TBolt Adapter and a known good HDMI cable.
The salesman tried the same connection from my Air to their 40inch Sony Bravia using my cables. It worked perfectly. The Apple salesman advised I return home and make the same connections to my 32" Sony, turning it off and back on. I realized I had already done that test several times. Then, it occurred to me that _Sony "off "using the Sony Remote Control is not the same as _Sony off completely. So I returned home and disconnected the AC power from the 32" for over 30 seconds then turned it back on with the Air &Sony connected via the Thunderbolt-to-HDMI connection and with the MBA turned on. The image came right up on screen and is still working. So, is this yet another case of " when in doubt re-boot" ?

Error message when connect to wireless router with wifi enabled phone

i would like to seek help on this.
I have been using a wirreless router to access the internet with my computer and it has been working fine. recently i got a handphone with wifi capability (nokia 5800). I managed to connect the phone to connect to the wireless router (it says so in the phone status). but when i tried to open the browser in the phone i got an error message "No Gateway Reply".
Can anyone help me to troubleshoot?
I enable WEP for security.
another thing is, i tried to use the phone to connect to another wireless router at the cafe, it worked well.

When you connect your handphone to your wireless network, whats the IP address you are getting it on your handphone, if required you can provide a static ip on your handphone i.e IP : 192.168.1.10, Subnet : 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1, DNS1: 4.2.2.2, DNS2 : 4.2.2.1 and after this you can restart your handphone and try to check if you are able to go online or not.

Bad performance when using complex database view with Toplink

When I use:
session.setLogLevel(SessionLog.FINE) and
session.setProfiler(new PerformanceProfiler())
I don’t see any improvement in the execution time of the query.

Bad sound when recording presentation in keynote with animation

When recording audio for a presentation, in a slide with some animated objects the recorded voice explaining the slide sounds crasping or double with lot of noise while the animation is taken place, after the animation the recording it's ok again.

I have it set to 44.1kHz and "4ch-24bit". The only other option for the bit depth is "encoded digital audio".

Bad files when exporting reports to PDF with CR4E

Hello,Have any of you successfully used CR4E to create a report and report viewer that produces a valid PDF export? I attempted this and the report looks fine, but when I export it to a PDF and attempt to open it, I get an Adobe Reader error message stating "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired." I am using Adobe Reader 7.0.8.Thanks,Matt
