"Bad Encrypt Dictionary" message

My customers are suddenly getting the message "Bad Encrypt Dictionary" when trying to open our PDF catalog on our website. I tried opening the catalog from my computer and it opens just fine. I'm using IE8 and Acrobat 9 Pro. Not sure if any of that makes a difference. If anyone can shed some light on this issue I'd really appreciate it.

I had a similar issue. Here's what I did:
(1) Save the PDF so it can be "read" by at least adobe 6. Go to File>reduce file size> click on adobe 6.
(2) Post this new file to the web.
(3) You can also provide a link to the most uppdated reader and give your customers an option to download the most updated reader, even if they have adobe acrobat.
What's happening is that they likely have an older version of adobe acrobat and that version will not "read" the catalog you created in either the newest or newer version of adobe.
At least this has been my expereince.

I'm using OS X Leopard (10.5)
I created a Premiere Pro 2.0.1 project, added a couple of markers with comments, and exported to Clip Notes. I did not set any password protection. Emailed it as an attachment to a client who is using Windows, to see if they could open it. They could not, they received the following error message:
"There was an error opening this document. Bad encrypt dictionary."
Any ideas what this is? Is there a basic incompatibility between Mac-generated Clip Notes files and Windows platform? (I know that Mac can only export the video file in a Clip Notes .pdf as QuickTime, but that does not seem to be the problem here, the client does have QT on their Windows PC.)
Apologies if this is the wrong forum, I could not find any obvious place to post questions about Clip Notes .pdf files.

Same thing happened to me. Update your adobe reader to the latest version. Open the file with that reader instead of with your copy of adobe acrobat. Unfortuanltey, you lose all the features of the adobe software, but at least you can read the file.
Hope you are able to read the doucments from the utility.
Note: If you are saving pdf's save then in a version that will allow those who have at least acrobat 6.0. Many orgnaizations and people are a couple of versions behind due to realative costs of upgrading. This simple task will save you those emails about "bad encrypt dictionary" and allow many to read your pdf's with no problems. At least that's been my experience.

I'm trying to download a job application but every time I try to open it I get this mesage, "There was an error opening this document. Bad encrypt dictionary" What does this mean? How do I fix it? I tried repairing and updating Adobe but it didn't help.

I searched this forum for solutions. Found only one, but it refers to making adjustments to Distiller, and I am not using Distiller.
I am using Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows XP, SP3.
I am creating PDFs directly from Microsoft WORD, 2007 - via File ---> Print ----> to Adobe PDF
Many of my customers are using Adobt Reader 6 - I realize that they need to upgrade, but I don't have much control over this beyond suggesting they do and providing a link.
My pssword-protected docs are unable to be opened, users are getting "Bad Encrypt Error".
When I go to Document Properties --> PDF Version, it says Acrobat 7.x.
I cannot find a place where I can change this to 6.x
Any thoughts?
Also, I opened distiller to check the PDF settings and it says 6.x, BUT I don't believe Distiller is part of the process when I print to PDF directly from WORD. Is there a way that I CAN print to PS then Distill? This may be a solution, but WORD does not have a PS option for printing.

Here's what you need to do:
Launch MS Word
Select the Acrobat tab on the toolbar
Click on the Preferences toolbar button
Select the Settings tab on the Acrobat PDF Maker dialog (mouse over PDFMaker.jpg below for a screen shot)
Click on the Advanced button in the PDFMaker Settings group box
Select Acrobat 6.0 (PDF1.5) from the Compatibility drop-down list (mouse over PDFMaker_Adv.jpg below for a screen shot)
Click the OK button on the Adobe PDF Settings dialog to save your changes
Click the OK button on the Acrobat PDF Maker dialog
That should fix the problem. Let me know if you need more help,

Bad Encrypt Dictionary

This error message comes up whenever someone attempts to open a form I created. I removed any encryption I know of. Please help.

I just went to bownload a manual for my Garmin Gps only to have the coment come back saying Bad encripted dictionary from Adobe Reader Wat is this and can it be fixed. thanks for any help

If the file came from a website, can you provide the link? It may have been corrupted when you downloaded it (so try again), or it may use encryption targeting a later version of Adobe Reader than the one you have installed (in questions such as this, telling us what software you're using is a good idea).

You may have checked the option "Encrypt contents and attachments for outgoing messages" in Outlook, please uncheck this to test if the problem persists.
File -> Options -> Trust Center -> Trust Center Settings -> E-mail Security -> Clear the checkbox "Encrypt contents and attachments for outgoing messages" -> OK.

Using HRALE00INBOUND_IDOC BADI for HRMD_A message, infty 0105

Hello Experts,
I am using HRALE00INBOUND_IDOC BADI for HRMD_A message type (for HR master data and infotype 0105).
I have configured OUTBOUND and INBOUND systems. I have created Z programe for idoc generation.
In Z program, changing only one filed i.e. USRID_LONG (EMAIL Address).
After executing the Z program IDOC is generating and if we see in WE05 then it is in YELLOW color with status 30 and 01.
After that i am using we19 or BD87 and process the IDOC then it will come in green color. I am checking on INBOUND system, IDOC is receving successfuly with green color and with updated data.
But If we go to PA30 transaction code and check to the email address (infty 0105 and subtype 0010) that is not updating.
Why? If i am receving IDOC successfuly then why Data base table is not updating?

U for update. If sender system have data for 0010 subtype, and recevier side 10 subtype is blank. In that case infotype 0105 is creating, but if infotype is already available on INBOUND system and wants to update, in that case data is not updating and IDOC in red color with 51 status. Message is " Infotype 0105 cannot be updated on database table PA0105".
My logic is for update....

Bad interface error message

I've written a vi (& built an executable) to run either continuously grab or snap images from a PCI 1424. The machine with the card in isn't the development machine an dis running imaq 2.1 with a very simple imaq configuration utility. This can be used to grab images.
The application was built on labview 6.1 with MAX tells me imaq 2.5.2. If I try and run the application and grab images I get a bad interface error message, could this be caused by the vastly different versions of imaq and if so is installing 2.5.1 and upgrading both the development machine and deployment machine to 2.5.5 likely to solve the problem. Is this also an irreversible step incase it doesn't work.

Having matching versions of IMAQ on both computers can be very helpful. I think it will solve your problem. You should be able to uninstall IMAQ and reinstall the old version if there are more problems.
I would also advise uninstalling the old IMAQ before installing the new version.

"Photoshop Elements10.0.exe - Bad Image" Error message

My Photoshop Elements 10 will no longer start.
I have been running Windows on my PC since initial installation and have not changed my set-up in any way, but now receive a "Photoshop Elements10.0.exe - Bad Image" Error message when trying to start my program. The error further reads c:Program Files 9x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\amtlib.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error etc. I have deactivated, removed and then reinstalled Photoshop Elements using my original discs and serial number, but continue to get the same message.
Any suggestions?

PSE 8 Organizer 'Bad Image' Error Message

I have PSE 8, PS Premier 8 and LR 4 insta;lled and haven't had any problems with them. Yesterday I tried to open PSE 8 and received a 'Bad Image' message that stated
"C\:Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements Organizer 8.0\amtlib.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.'
However, I went to My Pictures, selected a file that I had edited in PSE 8 a few weks ago, right clicked on Open With PSE 8 Editor and there it was. When I right clicked on Open With PSE 8 Organizer, I got the same error message as shown above. I also tried openiong Organmizer through Editor ald also got the same error shown above.
How do I resolve this? I'm running WIN 7 Pro, DELL XPS 8300.

Here is an update and a workaround. I hope it's helpful to others as well.
After receiving lots of views, but not receiving any suggestions, I decided to uninstall PSE 8, but kept getting an ERROR 1316 message. After additional searching I found MicrosoftFixIt, a free download that enabled me to uninstall PSE 8 and Premier Elements 8, where I had encountered the identical amtlib.dll BAD IMAGE error message described in my initial post.
I then reinstalled both programs, and now everything is fine.

AcroMissingCompWClass Acrobat.exe Bad Image error message

Hi, I have a Windows 7 PC and InDesign, IIustrator CS4. When I try to print I get AcroMissingCompWClass Acrobat.exe Bad Image error message. Has anyone come across this?

My Acrobat 9 Pro freezes constantly. Seeing a pdf inside mutiple browser is not possible. Most of the time Acrobat 9 Pro and Acrobat Reader X starts within 5 min! As soon as I do anything, the top bar that shows "File", "Edit" etc. dissapears and averything freezes! Security software with possible firewalls I've uninstalled. Un- and re-installing Acrobat doesn't change anything. I'm using MS Windows XP, running Adobe CS4. Making any pdf's is no problem. I just can't see them. I can open a pdf inside Illustrator but that goes page by page. Any help?

Encrypting a message digest

Hi I'm trying to encrypt a message digest using RSA Encryption. For some reason when the encrypted message digest is decrypted it does not match the original. If this is hard to follow the following code illustrates this point:

How we can do signing and encryption of message with multiple certificates at XI adapter.As it's a XI adapter,we can't use adapter modules for this purpose..

I want signed and encrypted file on my target side from my second XI server.But i have to use FTPS receiver adapter at my second XI server.Now while encrypting my msz,i m have to use multiple certificates.The problem and limitation is, that the FTPS adapter is only taking/accepting the first SOAP attachment and is ignoring any further. This means, that the attached signature would be ignored by FTPS adapter.So, m validating the same at my First XI server so that it goes a single message to my second XI server.Hope it's clear now..
