Bad firmware on WRT54GL v1.1

Tech support tells me my new router has bad firmware, but firmware for v1.1 isn't listed among the downloads. Where can I find it? Thanks.

I have looked for 3 days to download the firmware file for the WRT54GL router. The CISCO download site only has the GPL for the router and not the firmware. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Original firmware for WRT54GL Version 1.1

It appears that there is no firmware I can download for my WRT54GL Version 1.1. While it may never have been updated from what the router came with from the factory, it would still be useful to have it available. In my case, I would like to revert the router from the DD-WRT firmware to factory specs.
Any suggestions for what I could do?

Problem with upgrading firmware on WRT54Gl

and i upgraded the firmware from the defulat i think it wa 1.1 to 4.3 and after succesfuly upgrading i am entering to the router configurations and i dont have any bar to click on, nothing i cant choose any option and that from3 pc's,,

Have you upgraded the firmware with correct version number.If the firmware is not correct,you can get the problem like this.
Hard-reset the router for 2 minute,Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now,open the setup page and check.

MS-8348 bad firmware (need a.qz)

Hi, i have a MS-8348 and it worked fine since i bought it. Last week i bought a 100cds boul (ipc) and it cant write them, and makes an strange sound (like a loud BZZZZZZ). So, i did 9 or 10 failed intents to copy this cds and i remembered tath the clone cd 3.xxx comes with the option 'calibrate laser b4 start'. It worked but only with audio cds. Then this week couldnt write even those audio cds. So i've decided to download the Firmware. My cdr sais tahts is the MS-8348 nor 'a' nor 'b' nor 's'. But its firware was (originally a.qz, very similar to de 'b') and its image was the same (front panel). So ive download it and installed it. THE WORSE MISTAKE in my life!!! it is the correct firmware, but it makes the cdr works bad!!! i put an audio cd and starts to spin at max speed (when audio needs 2x at max!!), and when i try to write others cds (ex: verbatim) 20 or more, PUF!! the BZZZZ!!!! again and burns the cd (Irony: now it reads the IPCs!). So im desperated to find the olds a.qz firmware, and in the msi page is only the stupid a.tz.
PLEEEASSEE!!! any1 knows where i can find my a.qz firmware?!
PD: I have a friend with the exact cdr and the aqz, is there any way i can copy that firmware?

This would be wonderful but, the older firmware makes the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX, unresponsi've in -+ 5 minutes.
All Programs are unresponsi've after 5 minutes, if I unplug the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX my programs start to respond again. Resetting the firmware to factory default (v..05050), I get no problems, except that the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX response on a USB 2.0 port as if it'ss plug-in on a USB . Port.
I don?t have any problems with any other USB 2.0 hardware! They all work fine and I DON?T get any error telling me I would get High speed if the hardware was plug into a USB 2.0 plug. BECAUSE IT IS A USB 2.0 PORT!
The problem lies in the with in the firmware.

The drivers Creative releases are based on the Extigy.
If I look at the drivers you write for the PCI range (Audigy, Audigy 2 and Audigy 4 Series) they are better.
The Sound Blaster USB Range, Especially the Audigy Range can do so much more with the right drivers.
I suggested, you create a driver for the USB Composite Device. That emulates a PCI slot. This would allow the External Sound Blaster USB range to install your new and very advance PCI drivers.

How do I fix a bad firmware flash?

I have a WRT54G V4 I went throught the routien to "update" the firmware, but it didn't finish, and stalled. So I stopped it.
My laptop is the only wireless componet, and it won't stay connected for more than a few seconds.
Another quesion, a WRT54 V4 can only use the Version 4 .bin file, correct?

So basically, your router is still working but you have these wireless issues now?
If you can still open the web configuration interface, simply run the same firmware upgrade again. Maybe download the firmware file again from the server before and make sure that you download the whole file and it is not interrupted during download. (Make also sure that you actually download the file and not let the browser take it from its cache...)
You may consider doing a full factory reset before trying to upgrade again. As the firmware may be corrupted some other issues might occur if you tried it again.
Regarding the firmware version: don't confuse the hardware version and the firmware version. Check on the label underneath the router to see which router you actually have. If you have a WRT54Gv4 it should say something like "Model WRT54G ver.4" on the label. This ver.4 is the hardware version. You have to select WRT54Gv4 for a hardware version 4 WRT54G router on the downloads dropdown list on the linksys downloads web site.
The firmware version is something completely different from that. It is the version of the firmware (like the operating system on the router). The version number of the firmware does not say anything about the hardware version. For a WRT54Gv2 the most current firmware is 4.30.5 while a WRT54Gv5 is something about 1.01.1 or so. A firmware version may be compatible with several hardware versions. I think the 4.30.5 firmware will work on v1,v2, and v3. The downloads website will always point you to the correct firmware if you select to correct hardware version of your router. So be sure to select the correct one. In particular note, that for a WRT54Gv4 router the 4.30.5 will not work. And a firmware version 4.30.5 running on a router does not say that you have a WRT54Gv4 router (on the contrary...).

F...K BAD FIRMWARE FLASH(MS-8348A)

Hi all, here it goes:
I got this Dragowriter (MS-8348A) one month ago - since then i have had only problems, slow readin with certain cdrs, ultra rare but exsistent inability on occasion in bios post/ide bus identification (didnt show as secondary slave sometimes) etc on an otherwise ROCK Stable System (Asus P4G8X-Delux rocks) and on top of that i got it to replace a Plextor 40x1240a[ ] which i planned to use on my other rig [what a noob i was..]. So yesterday i decided to update its firmware from v.120d to 1.50d. So i made a bootdisk (winxp) copied bios and update prog to floppy and rebooted in ms-dos real mode..i executed a:>update 150d.bin it detected writer as secondary slave it flashed firmware - IT VERIFIED that flash was ok and after that it returned TURN OF POWER NOW! So i did ...
The next thing was that there was no secondary slave any more- neither any reaction from the drive itself - no power no - as if it wasnt connected at all - no tray out
I confirmed jumper settings - set it to master also - cable select nothin- i even tried it on other rigs - nothin!
Dragonwriter(-:censored: ) is DED. So is there anything i could do now than RMA this thing? i mean is there anyway of forcin it to use last firmware as with bios on msi4800se? Note that drive doesnt register with system at all...any help would be appreciated- not that i care too much Good old plextor reigns supreme and i think this 40x writter puts down most newer 48x drives anayway thanks and keep up good work(troubleshootin)!

Uninstalling firmware for WRT54GL

Hello, I sure hope someone can help!
I have been successfully using my Linksys router for about a week now using 3 computers all running Ubuntu linux with Firefox 3 browser.
Tonight for some reason, I thought I should update firmware. I did NOT get a warning not to do this unless I was having problems currently (read that after the fact in the user manual!).
Anyway, after updating the firmware per the instructions, I can no longer view the url http://192.168.1.1 to update or change my profile. I was able to go there for the past days and even today (that's how I updated the firmware!) but now suddenly when I sign onto that page using "admin" as password, all I get is a jumbled mess.
I can see the Linksys colors and the model of my router, but none of the drop down boxes work (or have anything in them). There are no longer clickable links on the page such as "administrator" or "wireless" etc. The page is useless to me and I have to be able to see and use it obviously.
Everything was fine until I updated the firmware, then it all messed up. Sure wish that message telling me NOT to update firmware would have been more obvious!
I am editing and inserting this paragraph to let you know I have also tried on a Windows computer using Mozilla browser and using Internet Explorer so now I am absolutely sure it is not a browser issue and is a firmware issue. Please help me get my router back the way it was. I see in the instructs that you can 'set to factory defaults' but since I can't access the page I can't do that either.
Please tell me how I can undo my update! What a mess...I have a product I can not use now!

1. Make sure you don't have any firewall or anti-virus running on your computer. Those are known to mess with the JavaScript in the web interface. Turn firewall and AV off even if it worked before with the old firmware version.
2. To reset the router to factory defaults press the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Check the lights to make sure that it does actually reset.
3. Make sure you want to upload the correct firmware file compatible with your router. Router models have different hardware versions and not all firmware versions for a model are compatible with all hardware versions. Which firmware file did you upload?
4. If this all does not work you may have to reflash the firmware again. Sometimes it does not properly flash. Follow the instructions here. The article is for a blinking power light situation but the tftp firmware upload described should still work for you, too. Flash the same firmware file again.

Bad firmware preventing a full charge?

I just bought a 5G iPod today (to serve as a replacement for my past two iPods), and was slightly irked to see it missing a wall adapter. I religiously read over the instructions and preceded to plug in the iPod into one of my PC's powered USB 2.0 ports. After about 35 minutes, the iPod said it was done charging.
Interesting side note... I have had the same problem with my other two iPods. It rendered their battery lives anywhere from 4-6 hours. While I'll admit that is a decent amount of time, I am an audiophile and need as long as possible.
I have a feeling it is a problem with firmware, but I don't know why this problem keeps repeating itself. I kind of anticipated the problem, and checked the device manager to make sure there was power to all USB ports. It reads 500mA. I switched it from a USB port in the front of the tower to one directly off of the board and the problem persists. I still have it plugged in.

Looks like your title doesn't reflect your actual problem.
Anyway, no firmware I knew that had this function. But it's a good input. Will feedback to MSI and see if they can product such function in the firmware.

Updating 6680, firmware working bad

I updated my nokia 6680 firmware through Nokia updater, now im using v04.04.07 from TMN wich is latest avaiable for my operator.
The issue is: now on my menu an icon called operatormenu apeared and trying to open it causes a system error. I dont know what it does but i know it wasnt there on my 2 previous firmwares. a bug?
Issue nº2: now whenever i try to install an aplication that is a little biger then the normal, like 1mb aplication and bigger causes the install to stop and restart phone. Like quickoffice and photoeditor from the official Nokia 6680 software page i cant install. and this is the worst issue of all becouse i use my phone aplications a lot. Excell is essential on my phone, and right now theres no way to get it to work.
Do i have a bad firmware version? or is the tmn version screwed up?

I really think the problem must be in the firmware
becouse:
1st i removed my memory card and sim card
2nd i formated the cellphone with the reset definitions and right after that i formated with (call button)+"3"+"#" and turned on phone.
3rd i put in my sim card. the memory i didnt put so i could trace the problem to the cellphone and not to the card.
--> at this point the operatormenu icon already apeared on the main cellphone menu. it apears like a application of some sort and allways gives out system error.
4th without installing anything i reinstalled the firmware from nokia software updater. phone rebooted and there was the icon again. inserted blank formated memory card
5th tried a 2mb app install, error and reboot
the problem continues after installs and reinstalls and formats so it must be on the firmware. As i read on a website that had a tutorial for formating, the 3 keys format cleans all settings except for rom memory, thus the error already exists on the rom/firmware.Message Edited by luis_henrique on 03-Sep-2006

WRT54GL v1.1 firmware

What is the most current firmware for WRT54GL v1.1? The router shows that firmware v4.30.7 is currently installed. The tech support page shows a v4.30.9 for the V1.0 router, but it doesn't list anything for the v1.1 router. Should I install the v4.30.9 firmware in my v1.1 router? Thanks.

To RNB65 ----- You should only use the firmware that is posted for your router model and version. Since you have v1.1, and there is no posted firmware for your system, then you should assume that you have the current firmware.
The router is given a new version number each time each time the hardware in the router changes. In most cases, the firmware is not compatible from one version of the router to another. So you should not use firmware posted for another version of your router.
Check the Linksys web site regularly. When new firmware is available for your router, it will be posted.
