Bad flash video quality?

Hi there,
when I view videos on Youtube they're almost every time a bit blurry, do not play fluently, in all the quality is terrible. On my Android phone Youtube videos just play fine. Is there something I can improve on my N900? Does a special Youtube app help? Is there an update in the repositories for flash?
Regards
Malte

first of all i'm not suggesting overclocking, but overclocking have a great advantage concerning flash vidz, the performance is a lot better when overclocked .
and yes there is a way to watch the videos in 360p, but befroe going there, check cutetube its in the testings, and its awesome.
its developed in python, but the developer is redoing it in cc+/qwl so expect the app to get WAY AWESOMIER and WAS COOLER, and WAY faster when the next update comes, and the player will get a lot better
Reality is wrong....dreams are for real... 2pac .

  • MSI 6600GT VTD AGP - VIVO, bad capture video quality

Before buying my 6600GT it used a ATI All in wonder 9800PRO, and the quality of image in the video capture was spectacular, clear, shining, without ghost, even with images with fast movements (horizontal text moving from right to left for example).
Now, I am disappointed with the quality of video capture of my new 6600GT. The image is blurred, like but slow per moments, it is remarkable with fast movements.
To somebody it happens to him the same?
I download all demo soft from Ulead, Pinnacle, Cyberlink, Intervideo...the problem persist

well some diferent drivers could make you gain a better capture quality but im sorry to say to you that no nvidia card will have a better capture quality than a BBA ATI video card, even if you take an old ati video card build by ati and compare with the lastest nvidia card...
Sorry but, if I were you, I really really really would get back to a BBA ati video card, it will work best in your new mobo for video capture.

  • Bad video quality of final product when viewing on computer in full screen

It looks like a picture does when you blow it up and it's a low quality image. Everything I'm reading says the problem would be with the video capture...but I have the same bad quality when I'm viewing the menu! Around all the text on the menu, it's fuzzy and same with my video on the menu. So are my video clips in the movie itself.
I have tried playing it on Windows Media Player, the apple DVD program, and WinDVD and I get the same problem when I view it on full screen.
I assume my family will mostly be playing it on a TV. Do you think it will play properly or worse on a TV? I don't actually have a DVD player myself to test it out. Any suggestions on why this could be happening?
    Thanks!

when I started using iDVD, one of the hardest adjustments for me to make was video quality on TV screen vs on computer screen. (I am used to satellite to S-Video TV and HD screens on my computer.)
My camera it a miniDV, and playback via SVideo to an Svideo TV screen is awesome.
I was sorely disappointed when I played the same tape back on the computer. It was grainy/fuzzy, etc. Same with the DVD I made.
But when I played the DVD back on the TV, the image quality was the same as when I connected the camera to the TV - crisp, sharp, video and text.
I've since burned numerous DVDs, and the result is always the same - blah on the computer, sharp on the TV.
As someone else in this thread stated, the average TV is low-res compared to the computer screen.
If I recall the spec correctly, standard NTSC is 240 line, SVideo is up to 500 line. HD is 720 line and higher...ergo an NTSC source is roughly 1/2 the resolution of the typical CPU screen, or 1/3 the resolution of low end HD screens. So yes, NTSC output on your computer screen will always be fuzzy compared to your TV screen.
I think you will likely be very pleased with the DVD when you playback on your TV.

  • Video quality in scope is really bad and dark

When I send my sequence from Final Cut Pro to Color, why does the video in the scope area come out so bad where I can barely see anything? Basically the video is nothing like the quality in final cut pro and the picture is very very dark.
When I see the tutorials online of the videos being sent to color from final cut, the quality is exactly the same and they don't do any adjustment.
Can someone please help me fix this? I work with AVCHD. Thanks!

    Thanks George.
Now the quality is not "really" bad anymore, it is bad. ;-)
The quality got better, but still there is a difference between drawing shapes and cell borders. And the difference is causing problems with customers, who are demanding professional quality.
Here is a .jpg of the original Excel table. The drawing shape is the outer one, the cell borders are the lines beneath the data. Both line types are very delicat. This is how it should be.
And this is how it looks after a pdf-print with setting "high quality print" (2400 dpi).
The outer drawing shape is ok. The thin horizontal lines are twice as thick than before.
I know, it is about details. But those details make the difference between a professional and an amateur performance.
Do you have another idea, how to improve the pdf quality?
Thanks for your help so far, I appreciate it.

  • Still bad video quality

even is catalyst cs 5.5 two of my problems do not resolve.
bad video quality in fullscreen. i have some videos for offline view (768x576 @ 2600 kbps) but still fullscreen view is messed up, all blocky, not proper video interpolation. in vlc or any other player the flv file looks fine!
the videos also have a 4:3 ratio and show white borders in fullscreen on a 16:9 screen in letterbox, how can make the borders black?
    is there any solution?

    Hi
    as example
Creating a PAL movie in iMovie HD 6 then import this into a NTSC iDVD project
    • Works but with a losy quality
I do use JESDeinterlacer3.2.2 and let this do the PAL to NTSC conversion
Now burned as an NTSC iDVD project
    • Best result possibly without buying PRO-applications for $$$$$$$
This way should work the other way around too.
Most modern PAL DVD-players can playback NTSC (if TV is old in Bl/W)
Most modern NTSC DVD-players can't playback PAL
If playbacked on a Mac PAL or NTSC is of no interest.

  • Video quality is less than expected when playing inside Flash

iam using flv video. i played it back in many ways , with flv player that comes with flash ,as embedded in the time line and using external class that use  NetStream ,the video quality was less than playing the same video  outside the flash invironment using any  stand  alone video player like media player classic .
why is that happening , did i miss some thing ?
is there a setting  that i should do to play hd video in high quality ?
i have tried setting stage.quality to BEST but it didn't affect the video quality ?
    any help  ?

can't I just change the "Easy Setup" settings so it would work without degrading the input and subsequently the output? Sorry, I don't quite grasp "fixed-resolution" yet so may be asking something that doesn't have an answer.
FCE only works with certain presets available in the Easy Setup menu. If your footage isn't one of these resolutions then FCE will conform it to the sequence you have selected, downgrading the footage in the process. Final Cut Pro gives you the option to make a sequence set to the dimensions you want it to be, without worrying about whether your image matches a preset.

actually, i can see in that code that you do still have wmode

  • Crackling/substandard sound in flash videos (YouTube etc) regardless of video quality setting.

    Hi all,
I hope you can help! Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, I'm struggling to find the best place to put this.
    1. a summary of your issue
Crackling/substandard sound in flash videos (YouTube etc) regardless of video quality setting.
    2. the type of computer you use—Mac or PC?
    Desktop PC.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, all updates installed.
    3. steps you've already taken to troubleshoot
The problem occurs after installing Adobe Flash Player 15 Plugin to any browser (I mainly use FireFox). It's listed as Adobe Flash Player 15 ActiveX when I installed it for Internet Explorer.
Before installing it, I can hear the videos fine but I am limited to a maximum of 720p quality on YouTube.
I removed my sound and graphics drivers, after restart Windows 7 decides it will install them again but as the generic/universal ones. No change.
I've heard that because I have the Windows Aero theme activated, I need to disable hardware acceleration - tried this in various ways:
    a) Generic PnP monitor Troubleshoot tab - Change Settings button is greyed out (whether or not I have the real/generic/universal graphics drivers installed). Can't find a way through nVidia control panel to do this either.
    b) Disabled hardware acceleration in FireFox - no change.
    c) Found on your forum here that I can go to a page which will check my Flash version, in theory I could right-click it, hit Settings and disable hardware acceleration there - no "Settings" option in right-click menu. Seems the page has changed.
I can't seem to find a way to interface with Flash directly to disable hardware accelerattion - if this is indeed the solution.
Regardless of Windows Aero theme, I've got it on basic theme now and still the same problem.
I recently reformatted and re-installed my PC, it was working fine before I did this (maybe I had an old Flash release installed?).
I'm at my wit's end... please help!

Sorry, it's all sorted now. After re-installing the sound drivers, decided to tinker with the settings one by one. I had my Creative sound card in Game Mode, thus it was assuming 2.1 speakers aka headphones. Put it in Entertainment Mode and it recognised all the 5.1 speakers for flash videos. Doh!

  • Bad video quality with AMS and Citrix

Some clients connects to our network with vpn Citrix and get the screen presentet from Citrix.
The video quality is bad, choppy and sound out of sync.
Is it possible to set a specific quality for clients connecting with Citrix in AMS?
Do you have a best practice when using Citrix.
    /Anders

    Hi Drago
It is very bad situation. Toshiba with every notebook must offer functioning product and because of that offer tested drivers. Those drivers are adapted for each notebook model and also have protecting function. That means the graphic card will not be forced to run on the highest level.
As you can see with original driver you have problems playing some games. For me it is nothing unusual for mobile computers. Problem is that every modified driver is not supported and tested by notebook manufacturer. I recommend you to use tested Toshiba driver. At the end maybe you must make compromise between gaming and watching movies.
By the way: are original DVD movies also so bad while you use preinstalled WinDVD?

  • Flash Poor Video Quality in All Browsers But IE

    Hello
I'm using Firefox 34.0.5 on Windows 8.1 and flash player of version 16.0.0.235.
I noticed a very poor quality on the flash videos in this browser. I watched the same video on Internet Explorer, and the quality was excellent. Here is a link: http://www.adultswim.com/videos/blue-exorcist/a-flock-of-plovers/
It is worth noting, the same video had poor quality both in Chrome in Maxthon. I could sure watch it in IE, but for some reason it stops after 5 minutes there (while the video itself is 20 minutes long).
    Please help guys.

    Hi all,
It's good to know it's getting out there but I'm still flummoxed.  I tried reloading Firefox the newest download.  I also reloaded Adobe Flash 10 and at my computer I still get...
I've tried refresh on the view screen which has fooled me in the past.  Otherwise don't know...

  • Bad video quality on Atom over Internet, but not o...

I have an Asus netbook with a 1.66GHz Atom, 1GB DDR3, and XP.  The video quality when in a call over the Internet is almost always bad, and Skype complains the computer is "slow".  There is no virus scanner or any other garbage running that sucks up resources.  I keep it lean.
So I tried using a different computer to make the call; an 8 year old Sempron laptop, also with XP and 2.2GHz or close to that.  Video quality is great.  So it's obviously a computer performance issue, right?
It gets stranger.  I set up a video call between these two computers over my LAN (i.e. within the same house).  Video quality is great on both.
The results have been similar over a span of a year or more, calling people in different parts of the country, and even dropping Wifi and using a cable.
So what causes Skype to think the computer is slow when video calling over the Internet, but not when calling another computer on the same LAN?  I have a theory, but I'll hold that thought for right now.

I have been using iChat exclusively over WiFi (Airport Extreme) from my iMac, and via Ethernet and WiFi from my Powerbook. I have not had any quality issues when connecting in this manner. Connections within my local network from WiFi to WiFi, as well as to outside connections over Broadband have all been of very good quality. Now if I can just get it all working again following the upgrade to Leopard 10.5.1.
FYI: I have even used iChat AV on Tiger using DUN on my Treo650 (Sprint), which worked fine as well.

  • Flash video looks poor quality in swf

I have a flash video .flv the quality is fine then I embed
this in a swf file a export it to a movie. When I watch the swf the
video quality is greatly reduced. I have tried allsorts to fix it.
Seems to be the swf that causes the problem no matter how good the
quality of the flv that goes into it the swf reduces the quality.
The files size of the swf is the same as the flv going into it.
    Please can anyone help

I have the same problem on my laptop since few months, it's really annoying.
Did you find a solution after all? Or anyone else has a solution?
    PS: I use a Asus n55sf, with a geforce gt55m.

  • Newb - adjusting quality bitrate for my flash video ...?

I just converted a WMV to flash video .flv through the wizard in Flash CS3 Pro.
It converted it OK, but made quite a large file.
Is it possible to produce a file of lower size and quality.   Is there a bit-rate setting somewhere?
(We have some people outside the US in developing countries who don't have such a good connection.    Whats about the lowest you would go in terms of quality / bitrate?)

If you have Adobe Media Encoder that may have come with Flash Professional CS3, you can use that to create multiple bitrate versions of your videos. But, generally, there can be lots of possible solutions here. Your best bet, hoesntly, is to search for "encoding flash flv video" or something like that in google, and reading various pages that way. You're certain to find much more qualified hits & results versus posting in a forum.
You want to also be aware of if you can only support 1 single bitrate version of your video...or if you will have a way to provide multiple versions of your video, as in:
~200-400 kbps bitrate for slow connections
    700 kbps for medium connections
    ~1,000 kbps - 1,5000 for faster connections
But providing this capability requires that - in a simple way - you provide your users with multiple buttons to load the video (which is not ideal). Beyond this, you can have somebody program in some bandwidth detection to determine which quality to load...or in the most sophistacted way, you need to use streaming video with a streaming media server.

  • Why is the video quality so bad on the recent download helper upgrade

I use the download helper add on on a daily basis and the video quality up till yesterday was crystal clear. but then yesterday there was an automatic update to the latest version and since then the video quality is total crap. nothing but annoying pixilation. why is this happening and how do i fix it or how do i go back to running the old version if it cant be fixed.

  • Video quality bad!

Ok, so I bought my 30GB iPod video like close to a month ago. Just a few weeks ago i threw some movies on it, but the video quality is horrible. Well not with resolution or anything, because the video is detailed. But it has black x-ray looking resolution in shadows and stuff. All that comes in normal and clear is well lighted parts of the movie and CGI such as lightsabers in Star Wars show up excellent. But I put a movie King Arthur on it which is a very shadowy movie (not very abundant in bright colors anyway) and I can't watch any of it cause its all like black. Can I take the iPod back because I put the same movies on my sisters exact model of iPod and it looks fabulous. I'm sick of being jealous of hers so I want mine fixed! Any advice!?

Yup! sounds like a manufacturing problem. take it bck and give em **** until the take it and give you your money/give you a new one just to get you to shut up. thats the only way to get things now adays.
