Bad "Getting Started Tutorial" Link, SunStudio Feb 2007 Express

When clicking on the "Getting Started Tutorial" link on the Resources tab of the "Start Page", I get the following link, which I recognize as Sun internal:
www.dscpreview.sfbay

Can you be more specific? What is the actual URL of the page with the bad link?
I can't seem to find what you're describing.

  • CF8 Getting Started Tutorial

I have hopefully a simple question, I'm up to p.19 in the CF8
Getting Started Tutorial, I have databases showing up in the
Applications panel, but the tutorial's asking me to click the + in
the Databases tab of the Application panel and select Microsoft
Access with Unicode Connection. The problem is it's not there! How
can I get it to pop up? Thanxs in advance for any help, I want to
    get dynamic pages going!

I'm assuming that you are doing this tutorial:
    http://www.adobe.com/examples/cfgettingstarted/experience/docs/steps_for_building_dynamic_ pages_en.pdf
If yes, then the built-in database for the cfartgallery can
    be used.

  • WCF Getting Started Tutorial - Topic #3

This is a second question related to the WCF Getting Started tutorial.  My environment is Visual Studio 2013 running as administrator (Ultimate, if that makes any difference).
I worked through the first two modules, entering code along the way as instructed.  No problems.
I've gotten to the third step, "How to: Host and Run a Basic Windows Communication Foundation Service", and have again entered the code as instructed.
After working thru the code, the instructions say:
To verify the service is working
Run the GettingStartedHost console application from inside Visual Studio 2012. When running on Windows Vista and later operating systems, the service must be run with administrator privileges. Because Visual Studio was run with Administrator privileges,
GettingStartedHost is also run with Administrator privileges. You can also start a new command prompt running it with Administrator privileges and run service.exe within it.
Open Internet Explorer and browse to the service's debug page at http://localhost:8000/GettingStarted/CalculatorService.
Question: can I indeed do this?  I thought that since this is a service, I wouldn't be able to access it from a browser. What will I get (asking this because I'm still having trouble getting the service running -- see my post asking for help "WCF
Getting Started Tutorial - WCF service host cannot find any service metadata ..." at social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/87af29ee-434f-4136-acba-67f9430e68eb/wcf-getting-started-tutorial-wcf-service-host-cannot-find-any-service-metadata-?forum=wcf

    A couple of things here:
    1. The URL that you need to browse listed in the tutorial is incorrect (assuming that you're talking about
this tutorial). Instead of browsing to http://localhost:8000/GettingStarted/CalculatorService (which is the endpoint address), you need to browse to http://localhost:8000/GettingStarted/,
which is the base address of the service host. You can still think of it as a "service", but instead of it returning "service data", the kind of data that it's returning is HTML for that debug page (also called the "service
    help page").
    2. When you use the service host ("step 2 Create a ServiceHost instance"), by default WCF adds a "debug" page, which shows some basic information about the service, such as how you can access it. An example of that page is shown below.

  • IPhoto '11 "getting started" tutorial?

Argh!  I've recently updated to iPhoto '11 (v 9.1.5).  So, I finally decided to sit down like a newbie and actually watch the "Getting Started" videos that I thought were available on the "Welcome to iPhoto" splash screen, and I find that there is no actual link to any videos.  It's just a thumbnail photo without any active link to anything.
Does anyone know where there are tutorial videos for iPhoto '11?  All I can find on Apple's site is tutorial videos for iPhoto '09 http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/#intro
I'm hoping one of you can save my sanity.  Thanks.

in iPhoto go to the help menu ==> iPhoto help and watch the movies there

  • Login to SQL Developer as the SYS user for Getting Started tutorial

I went to try and do the following tutorial to learn about SQL Developer 3.0, but I cannot get started because I'm unable to perform Prerequisite #3.
How do I "Login to SQL Developer as the SYS user"?
    Dave
Getting Started with Oracle SQL Developer 3.0
    Prerequisites
Before starting this tutorial, you should:
    1 .
Install Oracle SQL Developer 3.0 from OTN. Follow the readme instructions here.
    2 .
Install Oracle Database 11g with the Sample schema.
    3.
Unlock the HR user. Login to SQL Developer as the SYS user and execute the following command:
    alter user hr identified by hr account unlock;
Note: This tutorial is developed using Oracle SQL Developer 3.0.
    4 .
Download and unzip the files.zip to a local folder on your file system. In this tutorial, we use the C:\sqldev3.0 folder.

I installed XE. It asked me to set up a username and password during the install.
How do I login as the SYS user, though?
There is a Connection Name, Username, and Password field when I try to set up a connection in SQL Developer, and I used the username and password I made during the install. I clicked the Test button to test the connection.
I see "Status: Failure -Test failed: ORA-28009: connection as SYS should be as SYSDBA or SYSOPER".
How do I tell SQL Developer "as SYSDBA or SYSOPER"?
Sorry, this is probably easy, and I'm just clueless about it.

  • "ISV's Getting started webcast" link doesn't work

After filling out all the data for the 5-step simple ISV migration to oracle you come to this page: http://www.oracle.com/webapps/dialogue/dlgpage.jsp where your first step is to view a webcast. Unfortunately you always get a "Warning : Error in processing request. You do not have the privileges to perform this action." error in the ORACLE ILearning webpage, and you are asked to login to an iLearn site that doesn't recognize the previous info entered.
    this is getting frustrating ....

the URL from which i get the 'ISV's Getting Started' starter pack is:
    http://www.oracle.com/webapps/dialogue/dlgpage.jsp
once i click on the 'webcast' link a new window is opened at:
    http://ilearning.oracle.com/ilearn/en/learner/jsp/user_home.jsp
    where i get this message:
"Warning : Error in processing request
You do not have the privileges to perform this action."
this is the major problem, but in addition i need to fill out my details and interests EVERY TIME i try to reach the 'Getting Started' Page
needless to say that this is frustrating and annoying.
please attend to this problem , because i saw a similar complaint posted on JANUARY (!!!) and as you can see, this hasn't been fixed YET.

  • BPM BAM Integration - Getting Started Tutorial... Any Pointers?

    Hi,
We are working on a BPM project for contract maturity management. We have reached a stage where we have the flow in place. We have to start working on different BAM Dashboards to basically show flows/processes by contract, by role, etc etc...
I just wanted to know if there are any tutorials/material for getting started on this? Basically to show how to approach the dashboard building and plugging in business data from BPM from various points to push the same into the dashboard.
Any help/direction in this regard would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,

  • I have used firefox for years. I watched the Getting Started tutorial. I need help in identifying the "Firefox button"

If some of the features on the tutorial are not new, I didn't know about them and have never used them. The video moved along very quickly. I found it difficult to keep up. I couldn't find the "Firefox button" referred to in the instructions. It seems there a lot of great features available that I would like to use. I don't like Safari or IE. I much prefer Firefox, but I need clearer guidance. Thank you for any help you might offer.

You have no Firefox Menu button on a Mac.<br />
The Firefox button is only available on Windows and Linux and shows when the Menu bar is hidden.<br />
On Mac the menu bar is maintained by the Mac OS and not by Firefox and the Menu bar is always visible and can't be hidden, so there is no need for such a menu button.<br />

Nice work, thanks for writing this! I'd say that there are a couple
of shortcuts you cut put in the MXML, but nothing really major -
for example, you could databind the List's dataProvider directly to
cSession.userManager.userCollection, and you could bind the
textArea's text directly to chatModel.history. Lastly, I'd maybe
use EmoticonTextArea. But these are just details - overall the
    tutorial is fantastic!
Thanks Nigel! I've updated my article at the bottom to
include your tips and advice with refreshed screen shots for the
    emoticons. Thanks for the help.

I am just getting started so plese help me on the following topics.

  • How do you start the Brochure "getting started" piece?

I'm sure it's obvious to the folks that use this software how to use this download, but can't see anything that indicates how.
Yes, I downloaded the files and they went into my download folder on my MacPro, I then decided to move them to another more convenient to find folder.  This is what the unzipped  contents of the folder look like:
The contents of the "read me" file look like this:
Opening the folder in Finder does nothing more than display the contents as shown as above.
There are no other clues, that I can find, on how to start the Getting started tutorial.
    Ken

    Hello Ken,
To get started, just start watching the first video in the series on the same page you grabbed the file download from.  As you progress through the content, the presenter will let you know when you need to bring in the various sample files you downloaded.
Please let me know if I did not understand your question correctly.
    Thank you,

I "Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems", but it doesn't look like the view on getting started tutorial, ie: there's no "Firefox tab". I would really like to clean out all the old stuff, including add-ons and plug-ins that I've tinkered in, but don't know about or need any more, then start fresh with the latest Firefox. How can I do that?

The Firefox button does not or did not showupon Windows XP by default.
It is easy to display that just remove the option to display the menu bar toolbar. Note
    # The functions and available optons are much the same just organised differenttly
    # Menu tool bar may be displayed temporarily; even if the Firefox Button is present: by holding down the keyboard '''Alt''' key
#To remove the menu toolbar use '''View -> Toolbars -> []Menu Toolbar'''<br /> see [[Display the Firefox button menu instead of the menu toolbar]]
