Portfolios, bad links & splash screens
(using acrobat 9 pro, XP, firefox) A bad internal link (page, document or folder) within a portfolio often results in the splash screen "For the best experience update your Acrobat Reader..." or words to that effect. I need to prevent this and provide for one or all of the following alternatives when hitting a bad link:
1. redirect to another page (without a splash screen, of course);
2. do nothing.
(better yet, if it can inform me by email of the bad-link and its location along with the above alternatives)
In any case, I do not wish to show the built in splash screen either during portfolio editing or when viewed online. Entirely unacceptable. Any thoughts/methods to remove this annoyance?

But if there is an internal bad link, the problem is with the document. Acrobat/Reader is just not handling the corrupted pdf file gracefully. The best you can do is ask Adobe to fix the problem:

After doing a search for earth crisis, the top two results are:

Clicking Earth Crisis brings up all of the cd's by Steel Pulse, as search results, while clicking steel pulse brings up their CDs. Bad Link??? Any word on why this seems to be mix matched?I'm still having a problem. I've tried using both IE and Firefox and they both fail. Once my S/N is accepted there is a really quick message on the window that states something like - "if the download doesn't start click here" but the window either is too small to get to the link and/or it goes by too fast. Once this message goes away the "bad link" message pops up.

I've tried to download the "Treo Voice Dialing" download from the bonus software area at http://ws.palm.com/. I get the screen to enter my serial number. Once I enter that (and it usually takes about 3 or 4 tries of entering the CORRECT s/n for it to get accepted), I get a "We're sorry - page not found" error. Any suggestions? ftp site? something? I don't want to use the data capability through my phone as I don't have a data plan.

Hello, I recently clicked a bad link and I'm kind of paranoid about it. My iPhone is not jailbroken and I've read about no instance of malware of virus on non-jailbroken iPhones but I kind of just want confirmation in regards to my own situation.
I was using the twitter application and noticed some random person replied to one of my tweets with a tinyurl link. I know better than to click a bad link, but for whatever reason I wasn't fully thinking and just went to it. Immediately after I realized what I did and backed out within about 2 seconds. On my computer I used tinyurl link preview to find out where the link went and this was the URL "http://td8zuoqyukxy0k3ztkulxtbbtf:[email protected]

When I got my new computer, I accidently imported my songs more than once. I ended up with two, three, or once even nine copies of certain songs. As I have been deleting them from my folder, the songs keep appearing on I-Tunes, but come up as bad links when I click on them. Is there a way to make I-Tunes automatically delete the bad links that are created?

Have you set up WIndows so it will always use the same drive letter for that exHD? Plugging in cameras, etc to different USBs can make windows reassign things on you.

Bad link in iTunes Collections
When I click on iTunes Collections/The 60's year by year/ and pull down the year 1969, iTunes shows me songs from the year 1996 instead. I've written to them twice, but they don't seem to understand that I'm trying to tell them that THEY have a problem with their link...not me! Anybody else see this?? Thanks.
I buy CD's so I've never ventured into the Apple Store. But I had to check this out. By going to 1969 I find Los Del Rio, 2pac, Alanis Morissette, No Doubt, Jewel, etc. Yes, indeed, clicking on 1969 gets me 1996 songs. Yuck.
With iTunes open, click on iTunes/Provide iTunes Feedback. Describe in detail the steps and links to get to that page. I got the same bad link you did.

It's the FAQ to how to submit feature requests. Telling that it's a broken link.That is the site... Norton Internet Security pops up a warning... I did not go any further into the details, so the site's location may be what triggers Norton

I have a problem wit youtube in both ipad 2 and iphone 4s runing on IOS 5.0.1 non-jailbreaked.
I sometime search for a clip and i find it, when i click to start it plays another clip.
the same occur when I get youtube link in safari,mail or imassage
any ideaI'm attaching the a simple application (splash.vi) that is being compiled and put through the app builder installer. This program will just throw up a splash screen for a few seconds, and then shut down. The picture vi's are not even being called in this application (they are cased out). However, this vi will not run on another computer after being installed with the installer files created with the application builder. It prompts for the location of the picture vi's.
It does appear that the picture toolkit is now standard - sorry 'bout the confusion.
The vi's that are failing are being dropped directly onto the block diagram (true sub-vi's).
I, too, can use the application builder to compile this file into a .exe. The splash.exe runs just fine from the development computer. It is when I use the installer files created by the app builder to install this application (setup.exe) on a different computer that I experience the bad linkage.
