Bad mistake = BIG prob w/ gray !

Hello everyone-
I am new here, & desperately need some help. I've read several threads concerning the dreaded gray exclamation points, but no other problem seems to be the same as mine...
I have an overloaded HD (do have an external, but it has quit working), & recently loaded several pics...very important ones, of course. It stopped suddenly, and I received a warning that my HD is overloaded & that I may want to free-up some space. Did that...from Documents & iPhoto. Then, I received a message asking if I wanted to "recover my thumbnails??" At least, I think that's what it said...my 2 yr. old is "helping." It went thru a process, & I was back to my thumbnails in iPhoto. I tried to import the rest of the pics from my camera, & it worked. However, the 1st series of pics give me that gray . I've looked in Originals, & oddly to rolls of pics are missing from the numerical sequence.
I have downloaded the iPhoto Library Manager...no help.
I can see my thumbnails, but cannot open or drag any of the 1st set I imported.
I really appreciate anyone that can help.

IF the originals are missing then there’s not much to be done.
Try Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
Or
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 6* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

Msi k7d 2 2400xp big prob

can any one help me i got big probs getting my xp2400's work on my k7d master L.
Firstly after installing my mobo and cpu (with mods) when loaded windows i got nothing but bsod. After many hours of taking out processors, redoing mods etc i reinstalled windows xp pro and we seemed to be going ok. (windows booted and registerd 2 cpu's of unknown type-bios only 1.3 at this time)
after a couple of restarts i got the message saying "non mp etc" so i redid mods and continued the saga.
Then i started getting no post at all, not even to the bios and the leds on the board all red (which means faulty processor or installed wrong)....after more changing..... I only got it to work with one processor after changing the jumper for fsb.
time to flash bios...sucessful (v.easy actually) to 1.5, now can put jumper to high fsb and windows loads but still only reconising 1 cpu.(even though 2 are installed). This is where I am now and I'm gunna change the cpus around and if that dosent work try leaving then conductive pen fluid to dry overnight.
I'm only being this long-winded to show u i've tried most of the things in this forum so everyone dosent have to write them again.
couple of points
*How long does the conductive fluid need to dry b4 use?
*does it matter if it gets into the valley where it was cut?
*I have taken of my fans so many times (ttvol7's) that i can see an indent of the cpu on the copper heatsink! (they seem to b v.tight) an on each cpu one of the corner rubbers have cracked!!

Im told that the mod to the L5 bridges doesnt matter about the silver conducting fluid getting in the gap but it DOES for the other bridges when ur trying to unlock the multiplier. I am running 2 xp1600 one with the L5 bridge modded and it has the stuff in the gap, the other had the bridges done already. Im running a K7D Master - L with BIOS 1.5

I upgraded my ipad 3 to ios 8.1.3 and a few big probs

I hope someone can help.
After upgrading to ios 8.1.3 today I am having a couple of probs.
1) the biggest issue which is rendering using it for me totally useless is: it is running very slow in safari. Typing in huge delay that I have to give up. For example I belong to an online art community and when I try to add comments or upload art I am finding it impossible to type anything as the delay is massive.
2) I keep getting a message when on google or a website saying certificate cant be authenticated or something and asking if I wish to continue, why do I keep getting this.
I have rebooting, switched on and off and still the same please help

Just putting a couple of cents in...this can be a symptom of the device's clock not being set correctly. It happens on PCs if the system clock is way off.
Regardless, follow JimHdk's advise.

Probe tool grayed out in TCP examples

as I'm currently playing around with the "TCP communicator - Active.vi" examples I noticed, that there is no probe function available. Is this normal behaviour?

Individual VIs can be set to diable debugging (File->VI Properties->Execution). By disabling debugging, memory is conserved and performance improves slightly.
The TCP libraries from NI are considered tested and should not require debugging. They VI you are looking at may have this flag set to improve performance.

Problems Exporting multiple tracks / Mix down - Big Probs!

Hi Guys,
I apologise for the large holes in my knowledge in advance.
I have asked a similar question before but I got a screen grab that does not appear in my version of STP (I use Version 2.0 I think, apologies, I am at work so can't be totally sure)
I have created a 30 minute project that goes accross 3 tracks with various bits of cut audio.
If I wan't to create one single MP3 of the whole piece I really struggle. The Option to create 'MP3' is greyed out, and the only option that creates the seems to create the single 'submix' file, is the option to export all tracks, buses and submixes etc.
When I go to open the WAV though it crashes, it also doesn't list a duration (which i think is why it is crashing).
I managed to export it at all using the lowest rates in the export menu but when I open the submix wav, it plays it full mixdown correctly but with about 8 empty tracks(?) in the main edit / playing window (not the session style window with all the tracks, buses etc)
I then can't convert the wav to an Mp3 (perhaps because it is not a standard wav) which means curtains for my podcast at present.
I am so sorry for the drivel that I have just written, If it does make sense I would be so glad if you could help me out.
How best to Mix Down my project?

My bad, the master mix was there, it is at the top but seperate so i must have missed it or thought it was the title of the menu, anyway, thanks for your help on that one.
The surround sound issue still bugs me but I changed the setting in 'Multitrack' and it seemed to work, as for the submix track, i see that at the bottom of the project (along with busses?) and there doesn't appear to be any sound file in there, i'll take another look and see if the settings need changing.

Classic Setup - big probs

Hi - my first time using Discussions... in need of some advice
Was using 9.2.2 with 10.1.4, BUT big crash has forced me to restore from original disks (9.1 and 10.0.4 !!)
- after many hours of downloading updates over internet, have now climbed back to 9.2.2, but can't get any updates for 10.0.4 - apparently jump to 10.1 only possible with CD, which I don't have.
I'm saving up for a yummy new 15" iBook, but need to get this oldie into saleable state - do I have to stick with Classic or would it be possible / worthwhile if I buy and load newer software in order to sell ?

The choice is up to you, but you cannot upgrade beyond 10.0.x without purchasing the upgrade system.
A supposedly good place to buy proper OS X installation software is www.applerescue.com.

have downloaded Oracle Standard 8i 8.1.5 Server and untared it.
I have setup environment variables, users, groups, directories,
and downloaded jre116_v5 and made a link to it
in /usr/local/jre. When I loggin as oracle user and go to the
location of the install files and run ./runInstaller, it gives
me the follwing:
Initializing Java Virtual Machine from /usr/local/jre/bin/jre.

I was getting the same thing. It seemed to work when I executed
/mnt/cdrom/install/linux/runIns.sh instead of
/mnt/cdrom/runInstaller
Now I just have a problem where it doesn't seem to install the
TCP/IP protocol...

Itunes 7 BIG PROB HELP NEEDED

The first time i downloaded 7.0 i got all the way to the end and it worked but i could never open it so i just deleted itunes completley and so now i download it and it says..."this is already a file do you want to replace it?" I hit yes...than this box pops up and it says..."The feauture that you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK, or Try Again, or enter an alternate path to the folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi'in the box below." So ya, Ive tried hitting ok, and try again and trying to locate iTunes.msi and i cant. HELP WOULD BE GREATLEY APPRECIATED!

Creative zen microphoto 4GB big prob

Since a week or so, when i open the player by moving and holding the power button to on position, the only thing appear is the splash screen of creative logo and copyright 2005 and it stays there until I remove the battery, cause when I tried to close the player by holding the power button to off position for more than 30sec. nothing happened.
Can some one had to deal with same situation ?
Can some one help me please ?
I forgot to mention that no computers can detect the player, even if I try with myComputer...
I just tried the recovery tool and neither detect the player ..
I have no clue what to do now
And also, I'm running win xp sp2 on a desktop, and i tried every USB port on the machine.
So lets go back in time :
1-When I opened my player, it went directly to the recovery mode(whiteout any valuable reason).
2-I downloaded the firmware update at that address.
3-I tried updating (at that point the player was still recognized by at least one of my computers).
4-The update wasn't successful (error message: the player's firmware has not been updated) in the application.
5-Then the player came on that start screen(Creative logo).
6-I cannot close it properly and I had to remove battery to do so.
7-It then never restarted again.

There was nothing else to do !
The player won't go on normally, it was always going to recovery mode .. That's why I did that !
And in theory, if there's a firmware update on the company's of any player shouldn't I be trusting it ?Message Edited by jazz76 on 0-27-20072:36 AM

Boot Camp formatting the windows Partition -XP- I DIDNT! NOW GOT BIG PROBS!

Well Hi everyone, here goes in public! *I didn't read the manual carefully enough*
So, got that out the way, when the XP disc finishes instal and restarts i get the blank dos screen with:
'disk Error, press any key to restart'
but my keyboard has been completely frozen, the only way to restart is a forced restart with the power button.
Even when i try a forced start from the mac os instal DVD, you know- restart - 'D' key all i get is the apple hardware test utility which works only with my mouse and doesn't go any further in helping free my keyboard. although it does say there's no problem with the hardware.
i have important info on my Mac partition and need to recover that.
Is there any way of freeing the keyboard so i can try again?
Any help will be greatly, and humbly, appreciated.
PS. I've already looked at other threads and they all seem to have working keyboards, if i can get mine working i may be able to follow their advice.

I've had to go through this a number of times, and it's just something that you cannot get around.
When you're setting up boot camp, if you choose 32Gb as your Windows partition, it will use the FAT32 format. When you boot from your Windows disk, as you would with a PC that you already know has a disk formatted to FAT32, you would select "Leave file system intact" under the format options. You cannot do this. You HAVE TO select "Format as FAT32".
If you leave the FS intact, it will install part of the OS and reboot, and you'll get this screen. What you would to then is hold the power button down for 10 sec, restart the machine and immediately press and hold the C key. This will tell the machine to boot from the CD, in this case, the Windows install disk. Once you do this, go in and tell the installer to format the drive.
If for whatever reason this doesn't work, boot back into OS X by restarting and holding the "Option/Alt", select Macintosh HD. Once OS X boots, find the boot camp assistant and give the Windows partition back to OS X, and start over.
So long as you DON'T select "Leave file system intact", you will not have to deal with this.

Hello, My speakers stopped working all of a sudden, its seems that only the tutors are working , the sound is no more than headphone speakers. Can any one tell me whats the problem, is it the remote or is it the woofer? please advise me .. and who to consult for repair or check in Malaysia... Thanx alot. its not in warranty also..

Big Prob

I think i read everything here but still have a problem with my Creative Jukebox Zen Xtra 30 GB.
I didnt have any problems until i installed the new Firmware. I installed the software but it didn't found my MP3 player.
What i noticed is the message i get from that stupid MTP Media Player. Since i get that message i can't connect to my MP3 player.
So i removed everything i could ( including the drivers). Reinstalling the drivers doesnt work because he still chooses the MTP driver. Istalling the software i had ( the old software) didnt help
Soo. Didnt had any problems so far but when installing all the new drivers and programs the problems began.
I removed the new firmware. But then i tried to install the old firmware. And i t couldnt find my device.
So can somebody please tell me what i should do. I know am not a noob with these things and with computers. It dri'ves me really crazy
Ow and i also have problems installingen the CMS web installer and the Creative Software Suite for PlaysForSure-enabled Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra Players.

Oh i solved the problem
Installed WMP 0 and then removed all Creative **bleep**.
Then instaled the new driver ad also installed the new firmware. And finally i had contact with it.
But my batterie is doin strange because normally he would charge faster.
Oh anyhow it works

What format is the video you're trying to put on your iPod? That could be the problem. It could be the encoding, as well...how did you encode it before trying to bring it into iTunes?

Please try this:
Go to Windows control panel: Program and Features or Add Remove in Control Panel
- Click Nokia Ovi Suite and Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
- Click Repair.
Then restart the computer again.
If it does not help:
-Go to Program and Features or Add remove in Control Panel
- Click Nokia Ovi Suite
- Click Uninstall
Uninstall also:
- Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
- PC connectivity Solution
Then restart computer.
- Download and install the latest Nokia Ovi Suite.
