I,?cannot understand how software and drivers for products purchased have not been updated for Vista.What are they going to do, refund me for a product that does not work. Surely Creative Labs could have does some planning for the launch of Vista. Now I sit with relati'vely expensi've product that is absolutely useless to me. Please could somebody enlighten me as to?when the software will be available for the X-Fi Platinum Blaster Card for Windows Vista!

Upgraded to new iTunes....now will not launch
Hello all.
this AM I upgraded to the new version of iTunes. Big mistake. Now the silly thing won't even open...no error message, no nothing--just an hourglass and then nada.
So, I read around on the boards and tried the Quicktime install as a standalone...but that does not appear to have worked.
I don't have norton (do have McAfee), so am wondering what do I do next. I am very sad. Please help if you can.

with your one, let's start checking to see if there's
something amiss with your itunes preference files.
let's first try an experiment. (this is a diagnostic
test, rather than a cure.)
head into your user accounts control panel and
create a new user account with full administrative
rights. (there's help documentation on how to do
that at the left of the control panel screen.) while
you're in that control panel, switch off "fast user
switching" in your logging-on preferences.
now log out of the old account and log into
the new account.
does itunes launch properly (and not freeze on the
library screen) from inside the new account?
No, still freezes at the same spot. Right after I clikc agree to the licensuing agreement. The library come up and then nothing, unresponsive. Have to use task manager to end the program.

Finder opened multiple windows and now will not respond.
I was importing music from back up disks onto my new iMac and when I clicked into a folder in my iTunes Music folder finder opened all the band's (maybe 30 total) folders and now Finder is not responding at all. I have tried a relaunch, I have tried force quit, I have even hard restarted using the power on/off button as choosing power down from the apple menu is not working. I can not access the library folder to make any changes to files located within it. I'm unsure of where else to go from here. It's been almost 5 years since I've owned a computer at all and I've never encountered this issue.
Hi Colin, I was hopeful this might work, but no joy at all. Tried it several times, including after a restart. Still the same problem. I get window with 2 options, Restore windows/Do not restore windows. Irrespective of which one I choose, mail tries to open properly and then crashes. I see my mail window, with all my folders, it attempts to restore the mobileme folder, then crashes. Thanks for the suggestion anyway. I have moved across to Postbox until a fix is found.

Latest version of Lightroom will not download RAW files from my D750. How does one get around this? Bought Lightroom for it's ability to manage RAW files and now very disappointed.
Here is the contents of a batch file which will convert whatever raws you drop on it:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe DNG Converter" -cr7.1 -dng1.4 -p0 %*
Once you download the latest converter (release candidate from adobe labs, if necessary), and save the appropriate contents of the batch file (change path to match your system, and parameters to match your druthers, if applicable), the procedure is:
1. Drop raw files on bat file.
2. Import as usual (the DNGs).
Not too bad once you're set up (if DNG converter supports your raws).

Note: on Mac, you may need to use "$@" (with the double-quotes) instead of %* (which is dos batch syntax), and you will need to use the full path to the converter executable file, e.g.

If too much, just use the GUI instead of the bat file.

Recently I updated to Maverick -- I also updated Numbers, Pages and Keynote. NOW, I cannot open my pages documents. I get a message that I need a newer version of Pages. I have the newest version (5.2). How do I get around this to view my documents?
You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

I have re-installed I-tunes and have a new operating system (Win 7 Pro).
I now cannot sync as I-tunes says my I-Pod is already connected to a library and wants to erase my music on the I-Pod. What do I do to get around this problem?An iPod is designed to be synced with only one computer/iTunes library at a time. If you try to sync the iPod with a new/different iTunes library, iTunes on the new/different computer will replace the contents currently on the iPod with whatever is currently stored in its own library.
If the music and content on your iPod is not in iTunes or in a backup somewhere you can use the information in this user tip from another forum member turingtest2 to help you copy this content from the Nano back to the PC and into iTunes.

I need to install iWork 09 so I can open the many pages document files that will NOT open under the new pages 5. Mavericks will not accept an install from my iWork's 09 CD. How do I get around this?
Hi, I'm helping StringSinger2 with this problem.
The previously installed version is Pages 3.0.3 (the same as from iWork 08). This version (Pages 3.0.3/iWork 08) is incompatible with Pages 5.
That is why it would be helpful to install iWork 09, which is the version between the two. It will open the older 08 files, and its saved files are readable by the new Pages5.

When I try to install iWorks 09 from my retail DVD the error message is "the installer is damaged". (I know the dvd is good, I installed iWorks09 to my laptop today.) Is the "installer" part of the system files? And - If that is damaged is there a patch for that?

I have an ipad 2, just downloaded the new upgrade 7.03, and now it is asking for a passcode. I do not have a passcode. Anyone have any idea how I can get around this or is there a default passcode?
I called Apple Support and a supervisor helped resolve this for me on my iPad. I suggest calling them for help as this is obviously an issue with the iOS 7 update - she helped me without charge. I could be missing something in my upcoming description, so do not take this as complete - call them.
I had to update iTunes on my Mac Air to the latest version, and I had an iCloud backup from the day I updated to iOS7. Have iTunes open but do NOT connect your iPad yet. Shut down the iPad. Then press/hold the Home key on the iPad while you connect the USB from the iPad to the computer (an image of the USB cable appeared on the iPad). Follow the prompts in iTunes to restore and then backup using iCloud. When the iPad rebooted again to do the backup install, I got the same pass code issue and iTunes would not recognize the iPad without entering a pass code. I disconnected the iPad, turned it off, pressed the Home key while connecting the USB cable. When I did the restore and backup from iCloud the second time, it worked without the pass code issue occurring. -

The censorship in regards to certain apps not being available in your country is by your country, not by Apple.
Due to various laws and licensing in each country, in order to have an iTunes store account in a particular country you must have a credit card with a billing address in that country. If this were up to Apple, there would be no such requirement and there would be only one iTunes store for the entire world, but various laws, regulations, and licensing issues in each country, this is required by Apple. -

As already provided, if you don't have such in your iTunes library, on your computer, then there is no way to put it back on your phone. Apps are DRM protected, so even if you found a copy somewhere, you wouldn't be able to use it.

I am hesitant to purchase a new computer now if in a couple months a major OS upgrade comes out and I have to pay for that too.
Unlike Windows, OSX upgrades are cheap ($19.95 vs. typically
$149 to $199 for Windows). So, the descision to buy the computer
should only be based on the need for a new computer.
With that said however, with Intel's release of the new Haswell
chips, it is possible the iMac itself may get upgraded with the
new silicon. When that may happen is anyones guess and
only the people inside Apple know that and they certainly will
not tell anyone before the release date.
Bottom line, if you need (must/have to) get a computer now, get it. -
I changed my computer (old Dell is dead!) and now when I want to sync the contents of my iPod onto my new computer (a Sony Vaio), it tells me I can only sync with one computer (i.e. the one that died!) How do I get around this??

Copy music
- Connect the Ipd to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not contain synced media like apps and music.
