Bad quality playback from purchased songs

Friends-
I purchased an album from itunes. I played it from my iBook over airport to my stereo system. The quality was very poor. Any ideas?

Arghhh... Finally realised it's the settings for my Display in System Preferences. For some peculiar reason after the Quicktime update it was reset to "colours : Thousands" instead of "colours : MIllions"

"Bad quality received from network module."

My computer has 2 Fieldpoint ethernet banks setup to allow Lookout to interface with mulitple HW peripherals. Lookout launches automatically when the computer starts up. And after everything is loaded, one of the ethernet banks will almost immediately log the following alarm, "Bad quality received from network module." Does anyone know what criteria/logic is behind the triggering of this alarm?
We have been unable to find any issues that would cause this alarm to go off.

it is power cycled it works again. We have another FP1600 on same network with no problem. Ethernet drop is 230 feet. Part# is 185690E-01, firmware 4.11. I have swapped it with a spare unit we have of the same part number, 185690E-01 and firmware release.Mike,

Why are my album covers from purchased songs on itunes dissapeared

why are the album covers gone from the songs i purchased from itunes. i have part of them,the rest are gone

I have a slightly different problem. I have a few artists "Greatest Hits" albums, My iPohone's "iPod" doesn't know the difference between each album. For example:
Queen's Greatest Hits, Guns 'N' Roses Greatest Hits and Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits are all jumbled together into 1 "album" this is fine sometimes gives a bit of variety, but some days i just want to listen to GNR or Queen or Alice Cooper.
The only way to do this is to go in through the "Artist's" Tab instead of "Albums" still, it is annoying.
Any help for this would be appreciated.

Unable to create ringtone from purchased song.

Hi,
I have a client that wants to create some ring tones. I looked up the steps to do this and tried it on his PC and it did not work for all purchased songs. When I click on the bell icon, it brought me to the help screen on creating the ringtone. On other songs it brought me to the right menu for actually creating the ringtone.
If the song was purchased, why wouldn't it bring me to the correct menu?

I understand that, but my understanding is that if a song has the Bell icon next to it, that the song is in fact eligible to be made into a ringtone. Its these songs that aren't working.

Bad quality playback when burnt to DVD

Hey,
I have burnt my imovie project using the share - media browser in imovie and then the professional setting in idvd. When I play it on my new sony dvd/bluray player on my full hd tv with HDMI lead it has very poor playback. The sound is very muffled and the picture is slighty jumpy.
However when I played the dvd in my parents old dvd player still running off a scart lead but again an hd tv it was perfectly fine with great sound. Can anyone explain why this is and how I might achive a good picture and sound quality in my dvd/bluray player?

I think there is one more thing to this.
• Your parents DVD-player most probably has a superior picture correcting chip in it
BUT
iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 - are not the tool to use when wanting a DVD in as good quality
as DVD can be (SD-video as old TVs)
Due to that they discard every second line resulting in a less sharp picture.
I use
• iMovie HD6 - or - (But do not use "Share/Export to iDVD" - only directly import into iDVD
from within iDVD ! )
• FinalCut (any version) - or -
• FotoMagico™
They all delivers maximum to iDVD
Other thing I do
• Secure a minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-up (Mac OS) hard disk
• Use good DVDs - I use Verbatim
• DVD-R
• Burn speed set down to x4 or x1
• Pro Quality encoding

Bad quality playback

After I transfer my video clips to idvd, the quality on playback is very poor when play it back on dvd. I seem to lose quality from my dv cam to dvd after transfering to imovie. Any tips??

Do you mean when you play it back in iDVD, or using DVD Player?
Either way, what you see on your computer screen is not as good as it will appear on a TV.

HT1491 how to make ringtone on IPhone 4 from purchased song in my Iphone Music

Have purchased a song from ITunes on my IPhone 4 and would like to use it for ringtone. It is stored in my Music playlist. Would also like to know how to transfer it to my Music list in ITunes on mt IMac 10.7.3. I have connected my IPhone to the Imac with USB and can see it, but, cannot fifure out how to export it from the IPhone "Music" list to the IMac "Music" list. Thanks!

How do I create ringtones from purchased songs

exactly what the title says.

Set your import settings to AAC format, and maybe 128kbps or less.
Go to Get Info for the song you want as a ringtone, then set the Start and/or Stop times on the Option tab. The total length must be 30 seconds or less.
Right-click on the song an select "Create AAC version". This creates a new entry in your library.
Delete this newly added song from your library, but do NOT send the native file to your Recycle Bin.
Go back to the song you modified and reset the Start/Stop times.
Outside of iTunes, locate the native file for your modified song clip (the size will be much smaller than the original).
Re-name this file with a .m4r file extension instead of .m4a.
Drag and drop this .m4r file into your iTunes library.
Connect your iPhone to iTunes and change your sync settings to sync the new ringtone.
In your iPhone's Settings, select the ringtone as needed.

Removing someone from purchased-songs-list

A friend of mine had me listed as someone who could share her purchased music. When I fixed my computer and reopened iTunes, it didn't recognize my computer, and won't let me listen to her songs. How can I get them back?

You can create create a smart playlist that will Match the following rule: Kind is Protected AAC Audio file.
That should do the trick.

The IP address has been changed.

Can't purchase songs due to constant "Incorrect Address" message

Anyone else caught in this ****? I go to purchase a song via Itunes Store and it won't allow me to...I keep getting a message saying the home address in my account is "incorrect" even though it isn't. Same one I've always had on there. Message says it's not a "valid US address."
Tried a bunch of times logging on and off over the past 48 hours and it's still preventing me from purchasing songs--same error message. What's up w/this?
(Tech support has not gotten back to me even though I sent them an email about this)

I am stuck in this cycle as well. Did you guys find a way to fix it? I just updated my Itunes version & is is now doing this. I've tried multiple times to tweak the address (the address that has been on there for at least a years now) and nothing is working.
I'm VERY frustrated, any suggestions???

Redownloaded purchased songs are missing some metadata

i bought resently some songs/albums in iTunes in Germany ...
i want have a save back up method for these puchased stuff ... so i tested the redownloading from purchased song over the account and the cloudsymbol both ...
always i end up with files that missing some parts of the metadata thats shown when you click "get info" in a song ...
sometimes the Copyright from the Label is missing ... than i redownloaded again and the copyrightinfo is there but no e-mail adress and purchase date ... some times all three is missing ...
is that a known problem? ... so icloud ist useless for back up because u cant get the original "flawless" purchased file back ...
have others these problems?

Poor movie/video playback from mini Mac (2010) to 50 " lg LCD tv

Hi I just got my new mini Mac 2010 release and have it set up running through my 50 inch full 1080p LCD LG tv.
It's running through a Belkin hd cable from mini Mac to the tv and get great quality from picture desktop on 1080p setting on the Mac.
However when ever I watch a DVD,movie from iTunes through front row the quality is terrible and get "blocky" picture in dark parts of the movie.
I love my new Mac but this is driving me crazy I have tried calibration and changing the settings on my tv.
Please any help with getting better quality playback from movies on my Mac as the picture is worse than an old vcr

Have you tried using DVD Player instead of Front Row to play the DVD?
I do hope you realize that a DVD is not HD quality. Because DVDs are lower resolution than your TV, when you play them full screen on your TV without an upscaling player they are not going to look as good as they did on your standard definition (SD) TV.

Better external playback from Viewer than Timeline

I notice that I get higher quality playback from the same clip played back to an external HD monitor from the Viewer than when it is placed on the Timeline. Playback is using AJA Lhi video card set properly. Media is optimized ProRes 422, Better Quality set, Both Fields checked. Video is softer from the timeline, and has jaggies on thin diagonal lines. Anyone else notice anything like this or have a possible solution?

When selecting playback from itunes library on Mac (purchased album from itunes!) i get random song played from that album and my selected song disappears from view. Nothing to do with shuffle.Mac OSX 10.6.8. Help, doing my nut in!!

What is your iTunes version?
If iTunes 11, have you checked the "Up Next" list? If it is not empty, try if clearing "UP Next" will help:
