Bad quality when uploaded to youtube?
I have adobe premiere elements 12 to make youtube videos. I uploaded the first video and that one had a black border 1440 X 1080 HD, and then I tried a second video HD 1920 X 1080 which didn't have a black border but the quality was terrible. I am new to editing and filming, how do I get the quality to be as good as it is in the editor when uploaded to youtube?

We will do just fine. And, I am not seeing any problems exchanging information to get the core of your Premiere Elements YouTube problems. I will write as clearly as possible. If there is something that you do not understand, I will rewrite.
Computer
You did a great job with the install of the program. If you did not open a new project and go to the workspace and Help Menu/Update, then you are still working with the 12 version. To go from 12 to 12.1 Update, then use that Help Menu/Update. If you are interested in Text Styles, that 12.1 Update has resolved an issue with Text Styles in the Expert workspace.
Project Preset
The program is designed to set the project preset automatically to match the properties of your source media. The setting of the project preset directs the program to set up the correct space in the Edit area monitor for editing. Sometimes the program does it right, sometimes not. If not, then you set the project preset manually to match the properties of what you know the source media to be. Some background information on that
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE11: Accuracy of Automatic Project Preset (New Project Dialog) Setting.
The first thing we need to know is what we are starting with as your video source for the project. We probably can get all the information that we need to know about properties of the source media from the brand/model/settings for the camera that recorded that Timeline video. Do you have other than video on that Timeline, like jpeg photos? By video properties, I mean video compression, audio compression, frame size, frame rate, interlaced or progressive (1080i or 1080p), and pixel aspect ratio.
Once we know that we can cross catch with the project preset and react accordingly. From what you wrote, your project is set for the default NTSC AVCHD Full HD1080i30 which may or may not be correct for your video source.
Export
You wrote
Im publish sharing using the HD presets.
Still not sure what you are doing with the export, and that is important to be able to trace down to the cause of the issue. You can upload your Timeline content to YouTube two ways for your 2 minutes and 52 second Timeline
a. Publish+Share/Social Websites/YouTube with Presets = High Definition for YouTube 1920 x 1080 - the uploading of the Timeline is done from within the program using your YouTube account that you set up. (Keep away from the 1440 x 1080 choice.)
or
b. Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD with Presets = MP4 - H.264 1920 x 1080p30. Here you export to an AVCHD.mp4 file saved to the computer hard drive and then upload that AVCHD.mp4 file to YouTube at the YouTube web site.
Which one of those two are you doing?
Please let me know if you are OK with the above. If not, please tell me what I need to clarify further.
Summary
First let us target getting the properties of your source video for this project one way or other.
Thanks.

How do I get HD quality when uploading to youtube?
Hello,
I have a sony HD camcorder that records AVCHD. In Pre Elements 8 I upload my finished videos on youtube, the video is pixilated. I think I have to change the compression or bit rate but i don't know how. When i play the video in Premier Elements 8 it is HD quality. How do I get that same quality when uploading to youtube??
Thanks,
MichaelAnd, remember that YouTube will encode any/all submissions to their specifications du jour. One is at their mercy in the end, and what looks great today, might look poor next week, or next month. Also, be sure to check out their printed requirements on the day that you do your Export/Upload.
Good luck,

Poor quality when uploaded to youtube, etc.
My iMovie videos look great on my monitor. However when I upload them to video sites like Youtube, Google videos, Viddler, etc, the resulting video quality is very poor. I've submitted them as .avi, mp4, quicktime. Doesn't make any difference; they all turn out looking bad.
Is there a way to correct this?Is there a way to correct this?
Not totally. You may, however, be able to improve the quality but, in the end, you are simply limited to the quality that is compatible with the rather low data rates used by such sites when they convert your files to FLV for display. Basically, you are submitting a file from iMovie '08 as either a "Mobile" (a 480 width clip targeted at 1.0 Mbps) or "Medium" (640 width clip at 1.7 Mbps) and YouTube scales it down to a 320 width clip with a total data rate between 0.10 Mbps and 0.35 Mbps which is probably selected automatically depending on the actual length and quality of your submission.
I'm not a YouTube user, but my general advice would be to keep your submissions short to maximize "headroom" during the conversion process. (I.e., don't submit a max duration or high data rate clip since it simply means that YouTube will have to discard a higher percentage of your data during the transcoding process to Sorenson H.264/MP3 making the visual differences between your submitted source file and the FLV file even more obvious to your eyes.)
Also, here is an article you might find interesting to read: Encoding for YouTube Using Compressor
My personal advice would be to upload files in a better quality compression format to a personal web site if you really want to control the quality of your output display. -
Low video quality when uploaded to youtube
I edited a YouTube webseries for some friends of mine using iMovie 11. It was filmed using a Sony Handycam DCR TRV33. This is not a high definition camera, it is standard definition, but the video quality still looked pretty good when I was editing it on iMovie. I exported it to Quicktime, then uploaded it to YouTube from my desktop (I had read that this was better than uploading it directly from iMovie). In Quicktime it looked fine, but then once it was on YouTube the video quality was significantly worse. Does anyone have any tips on how I can improve this? Here is a link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1KPhrnisMQ
Thank you for your help.I don't see that. To me, it looks the same quality as any YouTube video.

Bad quality when play mov or mp4
I want to play mov or mp4 by quicktime. In my laptop it play well but in my another computer the quality for video is very bad!
Following is the features of that computer:
Windows XP Pro SP2
VIA C7 Processor 1500MHZ 512M RAM
Graphics card: VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP
I upload the screen snapshot of this problem on my blog. Please look at the following url:
http://apolloxiao.blogspot.com/2009/11/bad-quality-when-play-mov-by-quicktime.ht ml
Thank you very much!My first thought was a video card driver because that will produce the streaks across the screen but usually more extreme.
Then it could be hardware related, do you know the history of the computer, as to any recent changes?
I don't really have a solution and don't want to string you along. But I swap around hardware, and me, I'd pull the video card out and make sure it's seated properly in the AGP or PCI slot on the motherboard. If it's not a on-board video card.
You seem to be showing a dual monitor set-up? If so wouldn't the primary be on the right? -
I edited a bunch of clips taken from my Iphone, some vertical some horizontal. I put them together on Final Cut Pro but when uploaded to youtube, the clips recorded vertically have thick black edges and the video itself looks tiny! Is there any way to fix this? Please help!
You need to sort some stuff out.
Your source is pal 25 frames in SD
Your offline footage is HD with a framerate 29.97.
You need to set your sequence the same as your footage.
Then export again with the same framerate. -
Does anyone experienced bad quality when burning a DVD?
Does anyone experienced bad quality when burning a DVD?
Using OS 10.6.8 and Magiv Video in iDVD, I am having a hard time creating a decent DVD. The videos per se are fine, but the intro menu and menu text and images are extremely poor quality and hard to read. What is going on?Hi my notes on this - might be of help
DVD quality
1. iDVD 08, 09 & 11 has three levels of qualities. (version 7.0.1, 7,0.4 & 7.1.1)
iDVD 6 has the two last ones
• Professional Quality
(movies + menus up to 120 min.) - BEST (but not always for short movies e.g. up to 45 minutes in total)
• Best Performances
(movies + menus less than 60 min.) - High quality on final DVD (Can be best for short movies)
• High Quality (in iDVD08 or 09) / Best Quality (in iDVD6)
(movies + menus up to 120 min.) - slightly lower quality than above
About double on DL DVDs.
2. Video from
• FCE/P - Export out as full quality QuickTime.mov (not self-containing, no conversion)
• iMovie x-6 - Don't use ”Share/Export to iDVD” = destructive even to movie project and especially so
when the movie includes photos and the Ken Burns effect NOT is used. Instead just drop or import the iMovie movie project icon (with a Star on it) into iDVD theme window.
• iMovie’08 or 09 or 11 are not meant to go to iDVD. Go via Media Browser and as Large (NOT HD or other resolutiona as result will suffer) or rather use iMovie HD 6 from start.
3. I use Roxio Toast™ to make an as slow burn as possibly e.g. x4 or x1 (in iDVD’08 or 09 this can also be set)
This can also be done with Apple’s Disk Utilities application when burning from a DiskImage.
4. There has to be about or more than 25Gb free space on internal (start-up) hard disk. iDVD can't
use an external one as scratch disk (if it is not start-up disc). For SD-Video - if HD-material is used I guess that 4 to 5 times more would do.
5. I use Verbatim ( also recommended by many - Taiyo Yuden DVDs - I can’t get hold of it to test )
6. I use DVD-R (no +R or +/-RW) - DVD-R play’s on more and older DVD-Players
7. Keep NTSC to NTSC - or - PAL to PAL when going from iMovie to iDVD
(I use JES_Deinterlacer to keep frame per sec. same from editing to the Video-DVD result.)
8. Don’t burn more than three DVDs at a time - but let the laser cool off for a while before next batch.
iDVD quality also depends on.
• DVD is a standard in it self. It is Standard Definition Quality = Same as on old CRT-TV sets and can not
deliver anything better that this.
HD-DVD was a short-lived standard and it was only a few Toshiba DVD-players that could playback.
These DVDs could be made in DVD-Studio Pro. But they don’t playback on any other standard DVD-Player.
Blu-Ray / BD can be coded onto DVDs but limited in time to - about 20-30 minutes and then need
_ Roxio Toast™ 10 Pro incl. BD-component
_ BD disks and burner if full length movies are to be stored
_ BD-Player or PlayStation3 - to be able to playback
The BD-encoded DVDs can be play-backed IF Mac also have Roxio DVD-player tool. Not on any standard Mac or DVD-player
Full BD-disks needs a BD-player (in Mac) as they need blue-laser to be read. No red-laser can do this.
• HOW much free space is there on Your internal (start-up) hard disk. Go for approx. 25Gb.
less than 5Gb and Your result will most probably not play.
• How it was recorded - Tripod vs Handheld Camera. A stable picture will give a much higher quality
• Audio is most often more critical than picture. Bad audio and with dropouts usually results in a non-viewed movie.
• Use of Video-editor. iMovie’08 or 09 or 11 are not the tools for DVD-production. They discard every second line resulting in a close to VHS-tape quality.
iMovie 1 to HD6 and FinalCut any version delivers same quality as Camera record in = 100% to iDVD
• What kind of movie project You drop into it. MPEG4 seems to be a bad choice.
other strange formats are .avi, .wmv, .flash etc. Convert to streamingDV first
Also audio formats matters. I use only .aiff or from miniDV tape Camera 16-bit
strange formats often problematic are .avi, .wmv, audio from iTunes, .mp3 etc
Convert to .aiff first and use this in movie project
• What kind of standard - NTSC movie and NTSC DVD or PAL to PAL - no mix.
(If You need to change to do a NTSC DVD from PAL material let JES_Deinterlacer_3.2.2 do the conversion)
(Dropping a PAL movie into a NTSC iDVD project
(US) NTSC DVDs most often are playable in EU
(EU) PAL DVDs most often needs to be converted to play in US
UNLESS. They are play-backed by a Mac - then You need not to care
• What kind of DVDs You are using. I use Verbatim DVD-R (this brand AND no +R or +/-RW)
• How You encode and burn it. Two settings prior iDVD’08 or 09
Pro Quality (only in iDVD 08 & 09)
Best / High Quality (not always - most often not)
Best / High Performances (most often my choice before Pro Quality)
1. go to iDVD pref. menu and select tab far right and set burn speed to x1 (less errors = plays better) - only in iDVD 08 & 09
(x4 by some and may be even better)
2. Project info. Select Professional Encoding - only in iDVD 08 & 09.
Region codes.
iDVD - only burn Region = 0 - meaning - DVDs are playable everywhere
DVD Studio pro can set Region codes.
1 = US
2 = EU

What it turned out to be was the "quality" settings in iDVD. The total clip time was NOT over 2 hours or 4.7GB, yet iDVD created massive visual artifacts on the "professional quality" setting.
I switched the settings to "high quality" which solved the problem. According iDVD help, "high quality" determines the best bit rate for the clips you have.
I have NEVER seen iDVD do this before, especially when I was under the 2 hour and 4.7GB limits.
For anyone else, there seem to be 2 places in iDVD to set quality settings, the first is under "preferences" and the second under "project info." They do NOT seem to be linked (i.e. if you change one, the other is NOT changed). take care, Mario
TO GET IT TO WORK SLIGHTLY FASTER
• Minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-Up hard disk
• No other programs running in BackGround e.g. Energy-Saver
• Don’t let HD spin down or be turned off (in Energy-Save)
• Move hard disks that are not to be used to Trash - To be disconnected/turned off
• Goto Spotlight and set the rest of them under Integrity (not to be scanned)
• Set screen-saver to a folder without any photo - then make an active corner (up right for me) and set
pointer to this - turns on screen saver - to show that it has nothing to show

Device a Little Warm When Uploading to YouTube
I shot a 2 minute video then uploaded it to YouTube. The first upload failed as I think the device went to sleep. Changed the setting and the second attempt worked. The combined upload time was probably a good 20 minutes or so. I noticed the device got warm on the back panel, almost hot. I am using a CapsuleRebel case.
Anyone else notice the heat when uploading to YouTube? Each iPhone, even the 1st generation and also the 3Gs, warm up when they are "active". Each microprocessors develops heat when active; the more active, the more heat. That's why Macs and PCs have fans inside.
You do not need to worry about that. It's normal physics. -
This is really annoying. I movie hd works well when compressing it to quicktime and uploading to youtube but when there's pics involved and I have to slice them to fit audio it messes with the timing in conjunction to the audio. Any ideas? It works fine in quicktime when compressed but once it's uploaded to youtube it acts fishy. Even though it's fine in quicktime it seems to be an issue in I movie and how it's compressed or something.
I movie HD- 5.0.2
quicktime player- 7.5.5
Compression settings
compression: h.264
quality: high
key frame rate:24
frame rec: yes
encoding mode: multi pass
dimensions: 320x 240
sound
format: acc
sample rate: 48.000khz
channels:mono
bit rate:64kbpsThat's fantastic, worked really well, just like you said. I actually didn't expect such an easy solution to my problem, thanks very much.
It had the added bonus that it allows me to import the files quicker than before to iMovieHD if I am editing them.
Thanks again -
I have been editing in FCP X 10.0.6 and have had success with that on my Mac Book Pro Retina. But when I go to compress the 1 minute video detined for YouTube inputing that I wish for it to remain in HD (720 and or 1080p) via Compressor 4, the video compresses and I upload it to youtube via their uploader and when the video is played back it looks aweful. Needless to say it is no longer HD and very blurry. Is there any help you can give me with step by step codes to follow to ensure my 1 minute video is viewable in HD? I sure would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
Thanks a million Russ for you time and input. I have recompressed my project several times and that aspect has worked a charm. But I seem to come unstuck when I upload my compressed video to youtube only. All the presets seem fine and I have done it using either ProRes or Youtube/Vimeo HD options. I have just left them on my desktop and uploaded to youtube via their uploader from there after sucessfully compressing them with Compressor 4. Yet, there seems to be no improvement in the picture quality. Mind you the sound is fine. I will get busy with some screenshots if you still think they would be handy. Many thanks again for your consideration. I really had hoped it was as simple as a secret handshake too. Darn. LOL -RR

Flash video lags when uploaded to Youtube.
Hi.
I have tried to upload one of my flash videos on youtube, the only problem is that it lags!
The sound is perfect, but the film only shows about 1 frame per second, when it's supposed to be 12 frames per second. This is obviously nothing worth watching when the picture lags as much as it does.
I have uploaded the same video on my facebook profile, and it worked pretty good, but as I already said, it lags when it is on youtube.
I don't have any movieclips in the movie I uploaded to Youtube.
Does it have anything to do with the settings on the movie? I eksported it in to a quiktime film before I uploaded it to youtube. I saw a tutorial where the person exported his flash into quiktime and uploaded it to youtube, and the animations were smooth, but when I do this, it lags.
Can anybody help me?I don't see that. To me, it looks the same quality as any YouTube video.

Changing the colour space on a jpeg image for better quality when uploading to a website
When uploading my images to my website the quality and colour of the photographs aren't the same. They lose quality etc. I was told to change the colour space to sRGB or something to make it better. No idea how this works and I'm now not sure what settings to have photoshop on, I don't want to edit my images and then for them to be edited wrongly.
Really need some help, much appreciated.File > Save for Web. Use the 4-up panel to choose the best quality image with the smallest file size to save on bandwidth. You can test with sRGB enabled. Click on screenshot.

Error message when uploading to Youtube
Hello;
I am having trouble uploading videos to Youtube. I keep getting the following message: "Online services encountered an error. The service will now be terminated or paused if possible." What does this mean and how do I fix the problem?
Thanks
Ttlopes
Just got finished with my test runs of Premiere Elements 11, 12, and 13 for upload of Timeline content to YouTube from within the Premiere Elements Publish+Share area.
Only same 8 photos on Timeline uploaded to YouTube (High Definition Video for YouTube - 1920 x 1080)
Premiere Elements 13, two times....once as is and once refreshed Online Services, closed program, reopened program
When the progress reached Uploading the error is "Online Services encountered....."
When the same 8 photos were uploaded in Premiere Elements 11 or 12 on the same computer in the same time frame,
there was no problem. The uploads went to successful completion in the Premiere Elements feature.
No solution, but wait. I have yet to clear the Cached Web Content and shut down the computer router. My default browser
for this was Mozilla Firefox v 32.0.3. Based on Saskwatch's success with Safari and Vimeo, I may try Internet Explorer 11.
Right now my browser choices are Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer.
I am working from Premiere Elements 13 tryout. Are you working with a purchased version of 13?
More later.

Flash animation bad quality when tweened
hello to all!
a)im getting very bad results when i tween objects in flash, ive done the designs(clog wheels)in photoshop and added some fx to them,i save them as a png file and import them into flash, when static all is good, but once they start rotating(motion tweened as a movie clip) making the wheels go around they just look terrible.is it natural for the desing to loose in quality since its moving?or is there smthing that i can do to fix it?
b)when i motion tween an object there is a start keyframe and an ending keyframe once the cursor gets to the ending keyframe there isnt a smooth cycle it seems like the motion does an instant flash at the end,id like for the motion to seem like the wheel is spining like a normal wheel would do.
any help woudl be appreciated.
best regards.hey!!!
thanks alot for your answer,i ticked on the smoothing box,and also customed the bitmap to 100%quality and it does sure look better.

After Effects riddle (bad quality when I delet sth different)
Hi there. I have one bought project an I am wondering why my logo makes blurred automatically if I delete any different layer who is unseen.
Someone can explain this?
This is an "UNSEEN" layer. It has to be right here. When I delete this invisible layer, my logo ("Logo Animation" name below) makes blurres and got bad quality. But I see no reason for that. "Map 1" has no option or parented or something. Do you know why if I delete unseen "Map1" my Logo makes bad quality?
Here is a whole project:
