Bad reception/signal when 3G is active

Whenever im on 3G i get only 1 signal bar. When Edge is active or if i deactivate 3G it shows a full 5 bars. Its the same on both iPhone 5 and 4S. Does anybody else experience this?

alot of that has to do where u live? the edge should only come on when you have reached at&t or verizons boundries, the edge has your phone bounce thru other carrieris... does the edge come on alot where u live and which provider, that could tell me alot, the same thing happens to me but its only when i got to my cabin which is remote in colorado, it works 50% of the time there if i catch the "E"

When I first activated iCloud keychain on my stuff (MacBook Pro, iPod and 2 iPads) it was working great and the all logged in to a wifi network that I had only used the password for on the MacBook. But yesterday the others all started asking for the password again (which I unfortunately don't remember and the friend who had it has recentlly had a stroke and also cannot remember it). Automatic saving of actual end-time when saving an activity in SAP CRM

Dear SAP Experts,
is it possible by standard when saving an activity that the end-time of the activity is the moment when document is saved the first time?
Within the Date Profile '000000000001' it is possible to define the duration 'A_PLANTOTAL' 3 minutes but I want to have the exact time when saving the document for the first time.
Is that possible by Standard? I am seeing the problem that when document is changed and reopened again that endtime will change again.

Very bad reception in area

Our area has very bad cell reception. It takes me 3 or 4 calls to get a full conversation in with anyone. I work from home 3 days a week and I really need better reception. We are in area code 22556. is there anyway to get better reception without having to buy a signal booster?

Express bad reception problem

Just got an Airport Express. Using it with 3 G4 laptops: One titanium and 2 brand new ones. The titanium has terrible reception. I can be only 15 feet away and the reception comes and goes. If I move it within 5 feet it stays full bars. Is there anything I can do to improve this? The AE is plugged in on a floor UPS. Thanks,

You may be experiencing RF interference from local 2.4GHz devices, and your first step to improve the signal should be changing the base station channel. It should however be noted that the TiBook has notoriously bad reception capabilities, although your 15' is short even for a TiBook.

Bad PBR Signal on OVS 3.2.6

I have recently installed a couple of OVS 3.2.6 machines and an OVM manager 3.2.6. everything is working fine except when I try to install a Solaris 10 update 11 VMs. The OS installation on the VM goes fine up until the 1st reboot where i get the Bad PBR signal and the VM panics.
I have tried installing redhat VM and it working fine with no problems, so i am guessing that this problem has something to do with Solaris. any ideas?
Solaris 10 update 11 VM config:
Memory:4GB
CPU:1
Disk:40GB
Tried HVM and HVM with PV

Curve 9360 not connecting to network - bad reception or PIN2?

I just got a used 9360 device from my father's work, and it is not regularly connecting to the network.
I am on AT&T, and I did not have this problem in the 8310 I was using prior to this - also used, from the same source.
I have not been able to confirm if the previous user had a PIN2 lock on his SIM, but the device has not asked me for it and I have been able to send and recieve some messages - for a few minutes every hour.
I have used another SIM card in the 9360 and that card got the same results.
It is worth mentioning that when I used my card in an old iPhone I got a similar lack of service.
Should I be worried about the PIN2 or is this just bad reception in my house? The BB recognized the existence of both SIMs.
The OS is version 7.0.0.586, the platform 8.0.0.464.

Given what you describe, I'd agree with your "bad reception" conclusion (for the moment, and based solely on the fact that you had the same result with the same SIM in the same location). It also could be a bad SIM though. You should do things to test all of these theories out.

Good reception on 3G but netw. activity icon is on and draining my battery

Hi,
I am showing all bars on my 3G reception. When the phone is on home, I have no network activity but when I click on the phone icon it show network activty and I haven't done anything yet. The network activity remain no matter which icon I choose (i.e. recent, contacts, voicemail, keypad, etc.). When I turn the 3G icon off and use Edge, I still get the same network activity. Conversely, when I go to email, network activity shows for a moment and this is off after the sync is done.
Is this normal? Is it my phone? The AT&T network?

Why does my Vizio hdtv say no signal when I connect my minidisplay port to hdmi cord between my macbook pro and tv?

My Vizio hdtv says "No Signal" when I use my mini displayport to hdmi cord. It worked flawlessly for a month but randomly decided to no longer work.
I am using a macbook pro from early 2011 running os x Lion 10.7.5 and a thunderbolt to hdmi cord. The cord has worked without a hitch the numerous times I've used it until recently. Now plugging it in will cause the macbook to flash blue quicker than normal and immediately go back to the normal screen. I know the macbook recognizes the TV because changing the input on the TV to the hdmi connected to the computer will cause the macbook to flash blue again, with the same result. The TV remains unresponsive. I have tried all combinations of turning on and off the TV and macbook with the cord plugged in and unpugged from either and both systems and in both hdmi inputs on the TV. I've changed the display resolution to every possible option with no result. The TV is not recognized as a display on either the Display section of System Preferences or the Sound section.
It confounds me that the cord should work flawlessly until now, a month after buying it, for no apparent reason. I've been gentle with the cord, so the problem being a result of damage is unlikely. I had not updated my computer in any way between the successful and unsuccessful uses of the cord, but I have since updated my computer and the problem remains.
I have searched for this problem on the Internet and have seen others with similar problems, but I have not found a solution that resolves my problem. I hope to avoid having to make any additional purchases.

Do you have gfxCardStatus installed? Is your monitor set to "Integrated" or "Discrete". You want it set to Discrete to drive the external HDMI display.

Are you sure you have a good miniDisplayPort to HDMI cable?
Do you have another HDMI display you can test against (your neighbor's HDMI capable TV).
Do you have friend that can test the cable using their Mac and maybe their TV or a monitor that has HDMI input.

Loss of Reception/signal on 4S with iOS 6.1.1 update

Since updating to iOs 6.1.1, I have noticed on my phone and my fiancee's phone there has been a loss of reception/signal. As I thought this update fixes an issue that could impact cellular performance and reliability for iPhone 4S. But it looks as if it affected it to where I now no longer get all bars of signal as before the update my signal strength was excellent all bars lit up and receiving signal was excellent since the 6.1.1 update I no longer get a full signal, I get between 2 and 4 bars shown never 5 now since update. I think a fix update should be in order to correct the issue as before it was good now it is terrible. I know others also have been compaining about battery drain on iOS 6.1.1 but I have not seen that on mine or my fiancees phone just the signal strength does not go above 4 on either of our phones like as before they would sit at 5 in our house and anywhere we would travel. Has anybody else noticed that if so please let me know so I know I am not the only to see that since updating to iOS 6.1.1. Thanks and have a nice day.

Hi again, today's journey to the Apple store was worthwhile. Not only did I get a replacement phone, it was still under warranty, but also an explanation as to what may have caused the problem.
According to the technician who assisted me, as the upgrade from IOS 5.- to 6.- is quite large, in the transfer of information upgrade, apparently the programming data for wifi and Bluetooth connectivity was lost, which apparently sometimes happens, this being described as a freak occurrence. According to the technician, if this occurs, it becomes a hardware fault and there is no repair, replacement is essentially the only option. Fortunately as I was within the warranty period, on the spot replacement was available, already with IOS 6.- on it, so was informed that the same problem would not occur.
Upon arriving home, after a minor upgrade to 6.1.2 I was able to put everything back on to the phone so it ran like it did three or so weeks ago. The other advice given was to always hook up to iTunes via your computer to do the larger updates, those that increase in whole number, as those that increase incrementally are usually very minor and are usually an addition of data, not replacement.
I hope this helps others with their problem, mine in the end was resolved within ten minutes in-store. I dread to think what situation I would have been left in if I was not within the warranty period. Good luck to you all!

No, capturing DV or HDV via firewire is a bit for bit transfer of the original recording ... zero loss.

Took it to the Apple Store, they determined it's my screen that's messed up (they connected to another monitor, and since the lines didn't mirror onto the monitor it couldn't have been my GPU making the lines but rather the screen itself), so not connected to my wifi issue or a potential logic board issue, so I'm going to get my screen, wifi card, and trackpad (it's been failing too but that wasn't urgent at all) replaced for $330 using their flat-rate repair service which is much better than I imagined in terms of price.

If you mean the hexidecimal equivalent of the alphanumeric password, then you can find this via the AirPort Utility, as follows:
AirPort Utility > Select the AirPort > Manual Setup
On the AirPort Utility's menubar select Base Station > Equivalent Network Password
