Bad webcam on Pavilion 14-v062us

My webcam lasts about 5-10 minutes online before the person on the other end hears nothing but static - the audio goes out and comes back in intermittantly, but it's so distracting I have to end the call with my long-distance family and friends. Anyone have a solution for webcam static interruptions? My sound is otherwise fine on normal video playback and stuff like that.

Hi @sandra_g ,
Thank you for your query.
I grasp that on your video call after 5 -10 minutes the audio disappears or becomes unacceptable.
Here is a link to HP Webcam User’s Guide
Here is a link to Automatically diagnose and fix Skype audio and webcam issues from support.microsoft that should help to resolve this issue.
Here is a YouTube Video which may also help. How-to fix a "no sound" problem on my HP Webcam

  • Trouble with all 3 USB Ports: HP Pavilion 14-v062us Notebook PC

I was recently playing a game on my computer with a mouse controlled by a USB drive.  A little bit into the game, the mouse disconnected for no known reason.  I have been playing this game about six months now, and have never had this problem in the past.  I relocated the drive to the other two ports, but the device was not recognized in any of the ports. I plugged in another device controlled by a USB drive and got the same results.  I have uninstalled the USB Composite Device and USB Root Hubs then restarted my computer to no success.  Any help towards identifying and solving the problem is greatly appreciated!

    Hi @Madwho,
Welcome to the HP Support Forum!
I understand that you are having webcam problems. I am happy to help you, but it would be best to get the full product number and OS version. Please read the following documents if you need help in finding those.

  • Bad webcam frame rate

I had this problem with my PC and hoped it would go away with the Mac, but it hasn't so any suggestions would be welcome. If I use MSN/Yahoo/Whatever to do a video chat with my mates, I receive their webcam pictures nice and smooth, but outgoing I seem to be sending about 1 frame per second. I'm on 1 meg broadband, and things like uploading emails seem to be plenty fast enough, so I'm a little confused. I'm using a wireless connection to a Netgear DG834 router if it makes any difference.
    Matt.

One thing that always helps with wireless connections is:
    1. Go to System Preferences > Network
    2. Choose "Network Port Configurations" from "Show" pull-down menu
    3. Drag AirPort to the top of the list (make sure it stays checked)
    4. Click "Apply Now"
After doing this, try quitting & relaunching iChat (or whatever application you're using). If that doesn't help you could just test with a wired connection and see if it's any better. Chances are if you had the issue with your PC and you had the same internet connection, that's probably the cause.
    good luck

  • Webcam HP Pavilion dv6520ez

    Hello
Serching for weeks for a solution  for ma webcam.
    Here is the lsusb :
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 05ca:1812 Ricoh Co., Ltd
Very strange, but it's very hard to find something about it.
I found some tricks about another Ricoh's webcams (1810, 1832...) but nothing about 1812...
I found that some of others Ricoh's webcam could work with the r5u870 driver,
I found the source here :
    http://ubunteros.free.fr/r5u870-0.10.0.tgz
I unzipped it and made a make as user and a make install as root. But i have an error telling me that /lib/firmware doesn't exist. So i created it and made a make install again.
    So yet à have a lot of files in /lib/firmware like that r5u870_1810.fw : 1810, 1830, 1832, 1833,1834, 1835, 1836, 183b, 1870 et 1870_1. But nothing again about 1812
    Anyway i tried
    modprobe r5u870
but with no results at all
I made some tries with uvc too, but nothing again. Only a lot of problems in Archlinux...
So i'm trying to find some help here.
If you have somme ideas, please feel free to give some answers here... I'm a bit deseperate with this webcam

  • Webcam on Pavilion 23A touch screen

The built in web can is perpendicular to the screen and takes pictures of the top of my head, unless I stand up.
can it be adjusted, and if not how do I disconnect it, to fit a seperate webcam?

    parametric,
    Welcome to the HP Forum.
Thoughts on the Webcam that points other than what is useful...
Perpendicular means 90 degrees.  If the webcam is mounted on the front of the display (as one would expect) and it is pointed in a perpendicular direction from its mount point, the camera is pointed UP.  This is obviously not correct and you need to call HP to have it repaired.  Webcams that I have seen are mounted on the front of the display and point straight out from the display, that is at 90 degrees from the plane of the display surface.  That means if the monitor is set at 90% from the flat surface of the table, the webcam would be pointing straight out at the horizontal.  Make sense?
If the camera is mounted on the front of the display and you have tilted the monitor display back from the vertical, then the webcam would be pointing up from the horizontal equal to the degree of slant.  You might not be "in the frame" in that case.  There is not an easy webcam fix for this situation except to move the display to the vertical or perhaps get a taller chair to be used for those times you use the webcam...
If you wish to keep the monitor display at a slant that prohibits the use of the built in webcam, you can easily purchase an extra webcam and mount it as desired on the monitor display frame.  All you have to do to use it, is to tell "Skype" or whatever program for which you are using the webcam, to select your new, mounted webcam is the device to be used with the program.  For example, change the default webcam in Skype.
    Kind Regards,
    Dragon-Fur

  • Bad monitor: HP Pavilion dv6701us

    hi,
I have been  using the above laptop for last 3 years. Suddenly one day I find my monitor LCD monitor cracking. Though the laptop is never fallen but looks like an internal break. i want to replace the monitor with the new one. I want to buy this monitor in INDIA, since I reside in India, bangalore city. Please send me the price list for the same.

    Hi 2016509,
Welcome to the HP Forums! Sorry to hear about the issues with the monitor that would be a problem. I have issues if a monitor is not set to the right resolution myself so I can understand. You could try reinstalling the drivers for this model. You can find them here. If that doesn't work then you should contact HP Total Care a call at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or visit the link below if you are outside North America.

  • Inbuld speakers works when i plud headphone in it

I have recently updated the windows 8.1 but the audio is not coming from its in buld speakers until i connect the headphone. I have tried to check the latest driver for IDT audio codecs but coudnt found any.
    Please help me!
    Thanks in advance.

    @RJ_COP
I missed your previous post as I was not on for the weekend. So from your message earlier today, you do have WIndows 7 installed now, but you are still not getting sound from the speakers. I am assuming that sound is still working if you have external speakers, headphones or earplugs in though, correct me if I am mistaken.
Assuming that the audio works on those external devices, it means the audio driver itself is fine, but there is the possibility that there is a setting wrong, or there is a physical problem with the built in speakers, either they have failed, or the internal connection, is loose or faulty.
If you are not getting sound from external devices either, then, try the audio driver if you haven't. The following link will automatically start the download to your system, just run it after it is in your current download folder.
    IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver
In the case that the sound still works on external devices, try looking through these first:
No Sound from the Speakers (Windows 7)
HP Notebook PCs - Resolving No Sound or Audio Problems in Windows 7
The last thing you can try is check the connections for the speakers, if you want to give it a shot. Checking through the service manual below, you will find the instructions on how to replace the speakers on page 107 of 148. Using that you can just reseat the cables and do another test. If it does not work, then the most likely cause is that the speakers themselves are bad.

  • Dvd play back on Tv is 4:3 , also poor  playback quality

I recently purchased a jvc everio HDD, Along with that I purchased elements 7.  I am having many issues with the software. I am new to editing but have researched all the posts and done alot of home work. I have read the all the post about mod files. But I am more confused
Issue one... When I burn a dvd and play it back on any dvd player the video is compressed back to a 4:3 aspect. I have noticed that the video is squeezed and everything appears to be skinny when viewing.
To clarify , My camera films in 16:9 ratio. When I set up My new project I choose . Hard disk/widescreen (this setting say it is for video files produced by jvc everio). When Ii am done I choose burn/dolby widescreen.
when I import my video clips to my pc, it saves them as mov.files. which I understand is a quicktime format... is this causeing the issue.
I was convinced it was a camera issue. So I burnt some clips using my pc burner program and played them on my tv and they were in 16:9 and played just fine and the video looked amazing..
    ~~~~~~~~~~
    Issue two.... When I bring my video's in I loose alot of quality.  Also my clips hae glitches in them , some are green clitches and others are neg art of other clips . I played back on my media player ,these glitches are not there.
    ~~~~~~~~~
Issue three..... When I import my clips , the PRE viewer is very pixelly ( like really bad webcam bad) it is so bad that I actually took the sony camcorder back, thinking that the issue was my camera. I then exchanged for the jvc..... I have watched many utube tutorials on youtube... and have been able to see that the players are not as pixelly as mine....
Help....... I am so frustrated with purchaseing software and having problems.

With MOD files are imported into Premiere Elements they are not properly interpreted as 16:9... they will appear as 4:3 on the timeline and if burnt to DVD will play back as 4:3. You need to right click on the clips in the project Media Panel and select Interpret footage and then Conform To and select the 16:9 widescreen preset.
Not sure why it is saying the videos are .mov files, did you do ant conversion before importing. Regarding the glitchy distorted frames, try renaming the file  in the Program Files folder for Premier Elements "ImporterFastMPEG.prm" to something else. PE7 will not use it then and this should eliminate you bad frame problems.
The Premiere Elements viewer does not show the final quality of the video but should not be that bad. Did you render the timeline by pressing the Enter button on your keyboard... this needs to be done for non DV-AVI format video or when you place effects/transitions/title on the clips. The clips will playback without rendering but playback will be much smoother and cleaning after rendering.
Most of these issues can be overcome be converting your video to DV-AVI before importing to Premiere Elements. The "box" says PE7 plays with many file types but it struggles with many and MOD files is one format that it does struggle with. DV-AVI is handled natively and gives no problems. Can you import the clips into the software that came with the camcorder and export to DV-AVI? Otherwise you could use MPEG_Streamclip to convert them. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/415317?tstart=0
Also a lot of these issues are discussed in this thread. Dont know if you saw this one. http://forums.adobe.com/message/1757486#1757486

its recognized as usb 2.0 camera under system profiler
    with product id : 0x5602

    its manufactured by ali corp
so i contacted them asking for a os x driver

so any idea how to make this cam work in osx?? any driver or kext?
    any help would be appreciated.....
sorry if this thread is in the wrong place but i dint kknow where to post it

    Hi,
I have heard of other Screen with cameras that had a separate USB lead for the camera in the Screen
I have never tried to edit a .kext file. I would not know where to start.

*The bad:* Webcam comes with bad driver and buggy software; priced higher than competing 20-inch wide-screen LCDs.
*The bottom line:* The entertainment-oriented Asus PW201 offers superior image quality and an impressive collection of video connections, but it costs more than competing 20-inch wide-screen LCDs and includes a Webcam that suffers from buggy software.
I opened the Specs on this page It mentions the camera as an Input device but lists no way to export the signal. (Odd)
Trying to find if ASUS do Mac Drivers seems a fruitless exercise.

  • Hp Pavilion Tx1000 Bad Bios Flash

Hi everyone, I recently bought and hp pavilion tx1000 series (tx1030la) it has the common overheating problem in wich the GPU chip desolders, I fixed it with the help of some youtube videos (the penny fix) and everything was working perfectly until I decided to update the BIOS, I downloaded the latest bios for the machine from the official hp webpage, ran it and everything was going ok, then suddenly the fan started spinning like crazy and the computer shutted itself down, I knew that bios update had possibly failed and waiting for the worse I turned the computer on, It did nothing other than beeping in a pattern of 1 long beep then two short beeps, after trying the CRISIS method for recovering the bios without luck I read somewhere that the beep pattern exposed by my machine has something to do with a gpu failure, I tried the Fix I did the first time to solve it with no luck, and now I don't know what else to do as there is very few information regarding to the tx1000 Bios failure, there are much people fixing a bad flashed BIOS in DvXXXX models but none on txXXXX models, right now I'm desperate and I need the computer so bad, I tried The CRISIS fix with an usb stick as I don't have an USB floppy and the process reaches a point at where the computer starts to making a buzz sound and then a beep, buzz sound beep, and it keeps on doing it but never really finishes the flashing procedure, it seems to be reading the usb drive on the beginning but nothing happes, if i hold the windows key + b or Fn key + B makes no difference, the computer does the same if the Usb stick is connected and has the files for CRISIS recovery, but if the usb is not plugged the computer keeps on its one long two short beeps, please some help me i really need the computer, is there any chance to recover it by CRISIS!?, I can also buy a damaged tx1000 motherboard and take out the bios chip and replace it in my machine, you think that this will work!?

I think the gpu has failed again, if the bios was dead you would get no beeps, it is the bios that generates the hardware failure beeps.
Home brew reflows generally do not last too long or can cause more damage.
The reason the gpu comes loose on most of that vintage was due to 2 problems
    1. Overheating
    2. Poor quality solder used when the gpu and other motherboard components were flowed at the factory.
Reflowing it does not always work because of the quality of the ball solder they used, also you only get one reflow attempt, doing more than one weakens the original solder even more. Most likely the seller reflowed it shortly before selling it to you.
Proper repair is what is called a reball (solder replacement) of the gpu, not may repair facilities have the equipment to performed this, and is usually expensive procedure depending on the motherboard design.
