Badge on setting 5.0.1

I just updated my 4s today but the badge on setting still not disappear.
Already restarted and reset all setting but still cannot fix this problem. What should I do?

LOL....
I had exactly that same issue.  It annoyed me for two days.  Couldn't get it to disappear, no matter what I did.
The only thing that worked for me was to Erase All Content and Settings, then set up as a new iPhone.
Then I had to Erase All Content and Settings *AGAIN* and then restore to an iCloud backup.
Nothing else worked, and I tried it all before I resorted to this.
I'm guessing that some odd sequence caused the update to download twice, and the update that you did not trigger is residing on your storage and tripping the Settings App to show that an update is waiting.

After iOS 6 update the red badge on settings icon doesn't disappear, how can i fix it?
Have i to wait the next update?

Try resetting your iPhone.  Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

  • No Mail Badge on icon in iOS5?

I have a 4S when my emails come in the badge does not show a count. Also when I open my mail it will show all the emails but the blue dot is missing indicating I have already opened the email. Yesterday I had 28 emails and no indication. I've checked the settings and the badge icon setting for mail is on.
all works fine on my iPad. Any ideas?

No, updated by plugging it into the computer using iTunes. Let the update file take up space there rather than on my phone.
So, restore I guess is the only option probably? I guess that or wait for the next iOS update and see.

  • Ios update notify me

i'm using iphone 6 lately , and my phone didn't notify me when there's an ios update.. there aren't any red badges on setting button (ios 8.2)

It may take a while but it will get there eventually.  The update only came out yesterday.  I don't have it yet either but I know from experience that it will be there within a few days.
Make sure you are signed into iCloud.
If you want to update earlier, make sure you are on WiFi, plug your iPhone into an outlet and go to Settings> General > Software Update and wait a little bit.
Alternatively, you can also update immediately if you connect your iPhone to iTunes in your computer.

  • How to disable annoying update message of ios 6?

I do not whish to  update iphone 4s to ios 6 and would like to disable update message prompt  over and over I would like to clear red badge on  setting icon. Apple should think more about his customers.

Thanks for help and I hope apple do some thing to help their  customers other then causing them frustration. Terribly disappointed by apple's treatment of their own customers, Apple  is helping android.
Wish you all the best Apple..

  • Missed call badge doesn't reduce.  Is there some type of setting I'm missing?

Shouldn't that Badge counter reduce when missed calls are and/or voice mails reviewed?  Both the related Badges are not going down in numbers.  Is there some type of setting I'm missing?  Thanks!

Settings>Store...are you signed in? If not, sign in. If you are signed in, tap the Apple ID shown...sign out...then sign back in.

  • How to set tabbar badge value in ios8

I would like to set the tab bar badge value in ios8 but it not working. below is my code it working fine in ios7 but not in ios8
    [[[[[self tabBarController] tabBar] items] objectAtIndex:3]setBadgeValue: [@(badgeValue) stringValue]];

    Kwwong,
You don't say what you are using in the model layer. If you are using ADF Business Components (documentation refers to ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers)
    * You can declaratively set the default value in the EO/VO (section 6.6.3.6)
    * If the default is not a static value, you can write some code in the proper place to do this (section 9.4.1)
If you're not using ADF Business Components, you need to provide more information.
    Best,

  • No badge alert on setting icon when the new ios update is released

    Hi all,
I use iphone 5. I found that a badge is not shown on the setting icon when a new ios update is released. Only way letting me know that there is an update is manual check update, i.e. go to setting->general->software update. I think, normally, the badge should present automatically on the setting icon everytime the update is released. Does anyone find this problem? How to solve this?
    Thanks,

I have the exact same problem. Been searching Google for answers but have found none :-(
I upgraded from an iPhone 4s to 5 recently. I had the Settings badge show up right after I got the phone, but after I got home and did a restore from backup to get my 4s stuff over to the 5, then no more badge notification.
I can't find any settings anywhere to help with this.
    Anybody got any suggestions/thoughts/fixes/etc?

  • +/- Badge for 'Apply Auto Adjust Tones' Preference setting.

Okay, in V1.1 a User can now, in Preferences check to 'Apply Auto Adjust Tones'. ONly thing is the Develop Adjustment Badge +/- is not applied so it is easy to forget that one may have intentialally or mistakenly set this preference.
It would be nice if, when this Preference is checked the bBadge is applied, just as it is, if set in Quick Dev or Develop on a case by case basis.
Might resolve some confusion. Or if this is by design, maybe a special Auto Adjust Badge could be added.
Is Reset supposed to set back Auto Adjust applied by the Preference or can one only revert the image in History if applied with the 'Apply Auto Adjust Tones' Preference setting?

  • Notification settings on iPad 3 are set properly but my new IPad does not get alert badges or rounds on apps with all notifications selected and in notifications center.  Why?  Others are reporting same problem.

i just bought the new iPad and even though notifications are set exactly the same for mail and my app is turned on and in the Notifications Center and alerts and sounds selected for mail and apps only my iPad 2 is working.  No alerts on iPad 3.  I see other posts with same problem.  Any suggestions or posts re same problem will be appreciated before I return to Apple Store for help.  thanks.

Do you have system sounds muted?  Check the button above your volume control on the right hand side of the iPad.  If, when you change the button you see mute on your screen, you'll restore system sounds.  If you see lock orientation, you can restore system sounds by double tapping your home button to bring up the task bar (most recently used apps).  With your finger swipe those apps all the way to the right to reveal a mute icon on the left.  Touch that icon and you'll restore system sounds.
Let us know if that was the issue.

  • IOS 8.1 Update the red 1 badge stuck on setting app

    Hey,
Just updated my phone to iOS 8.1 and I now have a red badge or notification saying that I have an update or something new waiting that I have not seen.
I am using an iPhone 5s.
Let me know if you have the same problem with iOS 8.1 or have even found a solution.
What would be great if apple highlighted within the settings app where the warning was coming from.
I have never had this problem till I updated to the new software iOS 8.1

    Hi Mohdx.
When I go into General > About
I get all my general carrier information just fine.
I have also restarted my phone by holding the top button and swiping shut down.
I also help the top button and the home button to try a system reset. That also did nothing.
In the post that I mentioned above they mention a manual re-sync but I dont know how to do that. I cant find that anywhere on my phone.

  • Setting badge icon iOS 7.1

AFTER update to 7.1 I get the update (red circle) on he 'settings' icon. Nothing I do gets rid of it. This includes total system reboot. What do i do?

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • How to set up a visual "alert" for new emails received on the Iphone 4s

Finally converted from a blackberry to iphone 4s.  i have numerous email addresses.  On my old B berry, a red star would appear on each of my email addresses.  This notified me that there was a new message in my inbox for each particular address.  This was helpful since I didn't have to waste time opening each inbox to see if there were any new messages.
I have checked everywhere in the settings on the Iphone (even my kids can't find it).  When i'm in the Mailbox screen and looking at about 10 email addresses, it would help to have a check mark, bold lettering or something to indicate when a new email is received to a particular address.  If the BB had it, the Iphone should have it.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

I'm not sure exactly what you are saying here. Are you saying you do not like checking the All Inboxes? Once you go to the Mail app, you get a list of each one of the individual account mailboxes with included numbers for the amount of new mail you have for each account, unless you have something not set up correctly. Each time mail comes in for an individual account you get notified, it is just that the badge will not say 1 for this account, 3 for that account for example. If you received the mail I use for the example, you get a 4 in the All Inboxes, and then the individual numbers for each accounts inbox. Does that answer your question/concern?

  • In Calendar app for iOS 6, behavior of badges is inconsistent

My company has a good number of iPhones and iPads using Activesync to access our Exchange 2007 email environment. We have noticed that the behavior of "badges" in the Calendar seems inconsistent or inapporpriate.
Example: UserA has iPhone and iPad, both running iOS 6, and Outlook 2007 under Windows 7.. Both iOS devices share the same AppleID.
UserA receives a Calendar invitation. The invitation shows up on all three devices as an email. The "badge" count indicating the number of unresponded-to Calendar invitations count increments by 1 on iPad and iPhone. So far, so good.
UserA opens the invitation on the iPad and accepts or delines the invitation. The badge count decrements by one on both iPad and iPhone. Again, so far, so good.
But if UserA opens the invitation on the iPhone and accepts/declines, the badge count decrements on the iPhone, but NOT on the iPad. Doesn't make any difference how long he waits; refreshing mail on the iPad has no effect on badge count.
This (mis) behavior seems quite consistent. Do we have a setting wrong somewhere, or is this a known bug? I should say the badge counts on a number of my iPhone and iPad applications behave in, let's say, an unusual or uninformative manner. But this behavior in an enterprise environment is driving my CIO crazy.

Search the app store. There are several MS Office compatible apps. Quickoffice and Documents to Go are two to look into, but there are more. Numbers can certainly be used "offline" and personally I prefer it to many of the othes available (and you should be able to download a prior version: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5919). Depending on the specific needs, however, there may not be a substitute for Excel on a computer. No iOS spreadsheets apps handle pivot tables, for example, or include the ability to use macros.

  • Frequent and immediate Local updates of Badges in windows 8.1

<moved and update from visual studio and c# forum>
I have a windows store application that needs to show immediately new information on Tiles and Lockscreen Badges.
Before some one thinks this is silly - just think why windows displays the network status on the lock screens (all screens actually). Now imagine a secure environment that needs to show just as important information in the same place and the same real-time
way (as a comparison - if your couldn't login without a network and your couldn't see the network was up near real-time you would end up with *very* frustrated users - that is the style of information I need to show)
The machine cannot access the internet in any way (local intranet only).
The data the application needs to parse is only available via a windows service on the same machine and new information must then be displayed on the applications
Live Tile and a Lockscreen Badge immediately.
The Metro application will not be running full-screen all the time so a Background process of the application will need to be triggered to update the Tiles
    etc.
Another issue is the information needs to be displayed on a badge prior to a login -
For example the badge on the lockscreen will need to be updated after a system boot and before any user has accessed the system.
I have spent days trying to achieve this BUT all the windows methods have issues:
    1) Time triggers for background tasks cannot be anymore frequent then every 15 minutes - I need near realtime updates
    2) Push notifications require the external WNS service (machine cannot see the internet or any cloud service)
    3) ControlChannelTriggers do not work on the same machine
    4) You are not allowed to use socket connections on loopback adresses (must access different machine)
For the "not logged in" requirement  I could create a user that is locked to one app and has a shared or no password that can just display
the required info - This has security issues all over it including that no-one has tested that the locking to one app works (for instance <ctrl-x> still works and may be an indication of an attack vector especially if you have multiple monitors connected).
Even if this becomes acceptable the issue of not being able to do frequent tile updates locally and in background is a show-stopper.
can anyone provide me with a direction on how to do this inter-process communications with a windows store app
    John

I don't believe there is a good way to do this. What you're really asking for here is a way to set a badge update from a desktop app, but lock-screen badges aren't supported from desktop apps (the desktop dev forums would be the better place for that question,
but I'm pretty sure it's toasts only). You can file a new feature request at http://wpdev.uservoice.com .
Other than that to get the timing you need push notifications would be the normal way, other than not working in your isolated environment. Since you're talking an enterprise scenario you may be able to use a control channel trigger. Loopback connections
can be enabled in enterprise environments. See the
    Enterprise docs for details
