Badges missing in Lightroom 1.1

Badges and the "curled page" indicator for virtual copies are missing in the filmstrip. Flags do appear properly. Note that I have read other posts where the solution was to make the filmstrip larger. I have made it the largest possible size and still no luck. (And yes, I DO have the option to show badges selected.)
Any help?!
James

Aha! That's it! thanks a TON! I was losing my mind. I DID have it checked in the filmstrip but in the grid, i did not select the "show grid extras" option. It seems wierd that you should have to select it in the grid for it to appear in the filmstrip, esp when the option appears in separate locations. So I guess the lesson here is that it must be selected in the grid AND the filmstrip for it to appear properly.

  • Photos are on hard drive but missing in Lightroom 5. How can I add them to library?

My photo library, created on an iMac, is stored on an external drive. When I plug the drive into my laptop (with Lightroom 5), hundreds of photos are missing. If I try to select them from the finder to add, they are grayed out. What can I do? Thanks.

Is there a way that you can "subscribe" to something that is not in iTunes store? This is just a file on a site that is available for download.
If not -- does anybody else know if there is a way to do what the original question posed, to have a file that you downloaded, treated as a Podcast instead of as music?
    Thanks, tom.

  • Missing files Lightroom 3 and OSX 10.9.5 - how do I fix this? PLEASE

Hi Mr. Jim. I am having very similar problems with my Lightroom 3. I recently updated my Mac OSX to 10.9.5 and since doing so my photos are missing or offline and I cannot import from any source, even my Canon. I found updates on Adobe that take it up to 5.6 but when I downloaded it, it seems to have downloaded the Lightroom 5 version. It requires a serial number to use so.... that does me no good. So then I downloaded the update 3.6 and opened it but it did not seem to apply itself to my Lightroom program because it still says Lightroom 3.2... I hope that all made sense. So I guess firstly, is there a way to upgrade it to another version without buying a serial number? If that cannot be done, could you or anyone else help walk me through my Lightroom issues?
I tried your solution up to Ctrl+click Import but there is not a selection for "Update Folder Location". I made the 3 new folders and I am stuck at this part of your process.
I currently have 5791 missing photos and I need help . I did read that the bridge between the files on the HD and the files in Lightroom get messed up if they are moved and you have to track them down but I cannot seem to do that because when I found some of the "lost" files the contents were all grey and un-clickable.

Please read this: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders
You do not want to be in the Import section of Lightroom, you want to be in the Library Module. You don't want "Update Folder Location", you want to ctrl-click on a Folder name (not in Import, but in the Library Module Folder Panel) and select "Find Missing Folder"
You do not want to re-import photos that have already been imported, this is almost always a bad thing to do.

  • Camera Profile options suddenly missing in Lightroom...

Okay... so I noticed yesterday that (for some reason) my camera calibration profile options have disappeared, and my only option is "Adobe Standard". I used to have all the others (camera standard, camera standard 2, adobe standard 2, ACR, etc), but they have vanished.
    I'm running Windows 7 32bit.
I thought maybe it was just Lightroom 3.5, so I un-installed and re-installed... no luck.
    I un-installed 3.5 and re-installed 3.4.1.. no luck.
The camera profiles are in the proper directory (based on other forum posts I've found)... no luck.
I've tried removing the camera profiles from the directory and re-installing... no luck.
Not sure where they went, or what happened, or how I can get them back. Colors just aren't the same without them
Any ideas? I searched for hours on different forums and support sites, with no avail... Am I missing something? Is there another software besides Lightroom that needs to be installed? I'm out of ideas.
    Cheers.

The list of profiles displayed is dependent on the camera used to shoot the image. Typically, cameras from Nikon, Canon and some Pentax will have a range of profiles whereas others vendors (e.g. Sony, Panasonic and Olympus) will only have Adobe Standard. I suggest that you check which camera model is showing fewer profiles than you expect and report back. Someone will then be able to tell you whether it's got a a full or limited range of profiles.

  • Flags missing in Lightroom 5 upgrade?

Just upgraded from Lightroom 3 to 5. When I opened my updated catalog in LR5, all of my flags are missing from my collections. Is there a quick way to retrieve them? I checked and they are still saved in my old LR3 catalog. Thanks for any response!

  • Why all the micro4/3 (Panasonic and Olympus) lenses are missing in Lightroom lens corrections?

Is there a reason why all the micro4/3 lenses (panasonic, Leica and Olympus) are missing as lens corrections in all Lightroom versions?

    They are not missing.
Within the last year or two many cameras do their own lens corrections before writing the JPG or even displaying the image on the back of the camera or in the electronic view finder, so Adobe does the same thing:  the lens profiles are built into the camera raw engine and always applied.  It’s confusing because cameras didn’t used to do this and Adobe didn’t used to do this, so we have the situation of older cameras having lens profiles you had to select from the dropdown lists, while newer cameras don’t require this.  Of course removable-lens cameras still have this situation, but many/most recent P&S cameras have built-in lens corrections.
The Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop actually indicates when a built-in profile is being used, but LR does not, yet.

  • Camera Profiles Missing from Lightroom and ACR since upgrade to Lightroom CC

I upgraded to the latest version of Lightroom yesterday. I have discovered since then that the only profile available in the Camera Calibration profiles pop-up menu is Adobe Standard. This applies to Lightroom CC, Lightroom 5 and ACR. Furthermore the folder where the profles were stored is missing. This is a problem as I have lost a custom profile for editing the white balance in infrared photographs. What is the likelycause of this situation and how can it be remedied?

    Hi Beat,
thank you very much for your reply! :-)
That is what I find so  puzzling - there are hundreds of profiles in that folder under a "1.0" subfolder...
And yes, I'm sure it's RAW I'm looking at (and the error message appears before I see Lightroom, so it's not about RAW/JPG).
While fiddling some more I found out, that if I start Lightroom as an Administrator, everything is back to normal, but I never had to do this before and I don't see why this should be the case. What would cause such a behaviour to appear suddenly?
    Rant:
The whole UAC idea - as Microsoft implemented it - is a major pain, but so far I was willing to bear the burden for the supposed raised security, but more and more I tend to think about switching it off as I did under Windows Vista. If it interferes with my ability to get anything useful done it's not worth it (and I have other software that doesn't like it, not just - suddenly - Lightroom).
Thanks for any hints what this problem could be about!
    Cheers,
    Thomas Helzle

  • Presets Missing in Lightroom 4 on my Mac

    Hi!
When I am in the develop mode on my Mac in Lightroom 4, the presets are missing.  I am new to LR4, and also to my Mac, however, I am very familiar with LR as I was using LR3 on a PC prior to this purchase.  How do I get them to show up?  It appears that they are there, but, I cannot open them or expand them.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!!

    Hi Victoria,
I tried to reply to you, but, it looks like it didn't go through.  Anyway, I think I have figured my issue out.  My issue was this, when I was in the Develop module and wanted to use the Lightroom default presets, such as Lightroom B&W presets, I could see the group headings and an arrow, but, could not expand it to see the actual presets.
So, I went under the Lightroom dropdown and into Preferences and then into the Presets folder and clicked on the button that says Reset all default develop settings.
I am not 100% sure that this is what worked, but, they are now there and available.
Thanks for your question.  I am relieved that they are now there.

  • Default Presets are missing in Lightroom 5

    Hi!
I accidentally deleted all my presets in Lightroom 5. Try to uninstall and install the application again but the presets are still not there.
What should I do to bring all the presets back? Currently, I can't even add in more presets. HELP!!
    Thanks,
    Morla
    Ps. I am using Mac.

You may want to search within the Photoshop Lightroom forum to see if someone else has asked the same question previously.

  • Files missing in Lightroom catalog after import?

I've got an external HD that has 7712 pictures in a single folder. All the files are either .JPG or .CR2 files taken from the same camera, a Canon EOS 5D. After importing the pictures into Lightroom the catalog only shows that 6712 pictures were imported. So there is a difference of 1000 pictures between what is in the folder on my external HD and what was put in the Lightroom catalog. Is there an easy way to determine which of the 1000 files did not get imported into Lightroom?

It might be that some Raws and Jpegs shared the same base filename, and Lightroom treated them as one Raw+Jpeg.
Check if your "treat jpegs and raws as separate files" option is selected in Preferences. If it is not, select it, and reimport your folder. Synchronize folder might work too.

  • Things Missing from Lightroom when shooting tethered

ave previously been using Leaf and Capture One, now we are converting to LR b/c of its features. But there are a few small things that I noticed are missing that should be easy to fix. First the compare window. When shooting tethered in Capture One you can pick a compare variant and it stay's up on the left and all the new captures show up on the right. I have tried the survey option in LR but when you make a capture or use the crop tool you're compare view goes away. This would be very helpful in my situation because we shoot high volume and the shots need to be as similar as possible.  Also something as simple as the grid, there are workaround's but annoying ones. Please just ad a grid button,so you can turn it on and leave it on, along with movable guide lines, these are the only little features that Capture One has and LR does not.

I would like to add my support for extra functions when shooting tethered - either via auto import or directly through LR.
One thing that would be really useful is an overlay function, just like all the medium format capture software has. An art director will often supply a pdf layout of a magazine cover with title, cover lines etc and this is overlaid on the image during the shoot to get everything in the right spot. I've tried doing this with a custom template in the print module of LR with limited success.
Also, a way to send a keyboard command to another app running in the background to initiate a capture via the camera's capture software would be great. This is primarily for cameras or digital backs that aren't supported directly through LR via tethered capture.
Another biggie would be to have a 'same as previous' develop preset (just like the medium format capture software, which does this by default) for auto imports, so that any changes made to the last-captured image will automatically be applied to any new captures. I know there is a way to option click the 'previous' button in the develop module and then hit enter to do this, but if this takes a few keystrokes, and if 'same as previous' is there in tethered capture it is obviously recognised as something useful so can we have it in auto import please!

  • Pentax lens profiles missing in lightroom 5

They are in Photoshop but not Lightroom. How do I get/activate them?
    Thanks,
    Cameron

I’m seeing the same number of Pentax profiles in LR 5.7 as I do in ACR 8.7.       Without knowing what camera you’re trying to find profiles for it’s hard to guess what might be wrong, other than you need to be viewing a raw file not a JPG.

  • RAW file preview missing in Lightroom

When I try to import RAW files direct from the iPad 2 with iOS 4.3 (which were imported into the iPad using the camera connection kit) to Lightroom, Lightroom says "no preview available." After importing the files, I can see the images, but not before importing--which is a problem, since I want to be able to select the images I import. I tried two different cameras using NEF and Canon's RAW format, and I tried NEF+JPEG, and the same thing happened. I am using Lightroom 3.3 on Mac OS 10.5.8.
When I plug my camera's memory card into a card reader connected to the computer, the images properly display in the import window when selecting "mass storage" as a device. The problem only occurs when selecting iPad as the source of the images.
    Thanks for your help.

Sounds like the Ipad is killing the image preview stored in the image...   try this:  load it into your ipad normally, then instead of importing directly into LR, copy from the ipad onto your local computer disk.  Then try LR import.
If the preview is still damaged, then however you are getting it onto your ipad (or the ipad itself) is the problem.  Unlikely that LR would be able to do anything about it.
However, if the images appear, then something else is going on that Adobe might look into.  File a bug report with exactly how to reproduce it, and your conclusions that there is something between the ipad and LR.
    Cheers!

  • Lens Profiles missing in Lightroom 3.3

I'd like to know if the lens profiles have being erased in lightroom 3.3....
I used other prior versions of LR and I always see my lens profiles...
How to enable or see them again??
Don't want to use the lens profile creator but something like lens profiler downloader (I saw It's named but I don't see any link to the application).
Thank you in advance for any help.
    Diego

The lens profile creator and lens profile down loader can be found here. Note the down loader is an Adobe Air application so you will also need to install Air if you haven't already.
As far as the Adobe profiles go these are installed with LR itself. They are specific to Raw or JPG's so may not have disappeared it may just be you are trying to use them on the wrong file format.
If they have somehow disappeared then you will need to reinstall LR, but check out this first.
The location of the Adobe supplied profiles is on a W 7 machine
    ProgramData/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles
Your own ones and ones downloaded by the profile down loader will be installed in the User folder.
