Hi. What I normally do is try and leave target system blank and see if that works. It does for some config and then it can be transported fine because there is nothing tying it to 1 backend system.
For example, the link from product category to G/L account can be configured with no backend system, as long as you configure it before the product categories have been replicated to SRM.
Some config is entirely dependant on backend system though, and even the SRM cookbooks tells you to configure manually in each client by opening the client as part of the initial set up.

Complexity of using N-step BADI in SRM 7using Process controlled Workflow.

Just as a big thought,
I have a Shopping Cart requirement, Here i am asked to develop a Custom workflow for SRM 7.0.
And the client is looking for us to use Process Control Workflows i.e(BRF integrated one).
I need to understand the complexity of using a N-step BADI.
How would be the complexity level if I use a N step BADI( ie Multiple approval levels on Line Item Based).
Kindly tell me the complexity of Using it and if any one has come across some requirement like this, then explain me that how did you face the situation.

Hi,
Is your project SRM 7.0 implementation project then you have to go for Process Controlled Workflow and if your project is upgrade then you can still go with Application Controlled Workflow but down line this has to switch to Process Controlled Workflow.

N-step BADI approval SRM workflow

Hi,
I am implementing N-step approval badi for SC approval using header level workflow (WS14000133) in SRM 5.0. My requirement is to determine the financial analysts responsible for each line item and then the mangement approvers based on their approval limits. Financial analyst need to approve the SC concurrently before the management approvers receives the SC. I developed the code in the BADI to populate the approval table. First time when the SC is created the approval table looks as follows,
Index    Branch    Approver
1         1        FA1
1         2        FA2
1         3        FA3
2         1        MGMT approver1
3         1        MGMT approver2
FA1, FA2 and FA3 recieves the SC. The approval preview looks great. Since this is not item level workflow, FA will approve the SC at the header level.
Here is the Issue--
When FA1, FA2 or FA3 approves the SC, the approval index is incremented by 1 in the workflow, the SC is sent to MGMT approvers based on he index by skipping all the FA approvers.
In this scenario, how to develop logic to send the SC to MGMT approvers only after the FA approvers approves it. I mean how to control the index and branching in BADi. I am using header level workflow.
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Hello,
You won't like my answer, but this behaviour is not possible with standard workflows.
First WS14000133 does not handle parallel processing with badi.
You could try the template WS14000141 that was at a time handling the branch number in approval table, but it is not officially support. I mean this is obsolete.
This only parallel processing is provided with template WS14000015, but it's at item level: separated item can be sent in parallel, but it's not working well if you try to send the same item in 2 branch.
You cannot send the same object in a parallel process, the reason is that the application layer cannot properly handle this.

How to debug program or Badi in SRM 7.0 through PORTAL

Hi friends,
        My question is How to debug a Badi or any program in SRM 7.0 through PORTAL . I putted External break point in Badi and following settings has been done in Utilities u2013 Settings u2013 Abap Editor
Front-End Editor (new) - checked
In debugging tab
Users - maintained (entered same user name using in Portal as log on user name)
IP Matching u2013 checked
ABAP Debugger u2013 New debugger u2013 checked
Session breakpoint active immed. - Chcecked
I am not able to debug this badi through Portal and some time after I am getting Time out error whereas Time limit is extended up to 600 seconds . In SRM 5.0 it is working fine .I have SAP ALL authorization   if any other procedure is available or for that any specific role needed then please share with me.

I checked everything and we have only one server for Development but still I am not able to debug, I checked AL08, it is showing same server we donu2019t have different application server for development. I donu2019t have any idea about that How to activate debugger for specific user id, please suggest me.
         Parameter set with value rdisp/tpda_for_ext = 1 . In the BADI i putted one infinite loop and then try to debug from the SM50 through Menu program/session u2013 Program u2013 Debugging but from GUI new debugger session is not opening and some time after process has been deleted from the SM50 and I got error message in the Portal.
         Do I need or missing some setting in Portal . Please suggest me.

Not able to debug BBP_GROUP_LOC_PO badi in SRM

I have set the external break points in the BADI .
Is this geting called in Background? In that case what needs to be done?

you can debug badi BBP_GROUP_LOC_PO BADI only after execute the program BBP_SC_TRANSFER_GROUPED.
Keep the external bp in your Badi implementation and later execute the above program. It will exactly stop the place where you place the BP.

BADI for SRM ServiceAcknowledgementInformation_Out - URGENT!

Hi,
I have a problem looking for the BADI for the ServiceAcknowledgementInformation_Out in transaction SPROXY. the structure name is BBPX1_CONF_INFO_MESSAGE. how can I find the badi that uses the said structure? i tried the where used list but i find no badi. is there any other way?
If anyone have used the said structure please inform me on how it was used. Thanks very much!

you can use
get parameter id 'LIF' filed fld1.
get parameter id 'BUK' filed fld2.
Know you can get the vendor no and company code into your fields fld1 and fld2 and use them.

SRM 7.0 - Unable / How to get into DEBUGGING mode in BADI

Hello SAPions,
I am unable to get into debugging mode from WebDynpro Portal screen to R/3 BADI in SRM 7.0 .
I placed a breakpoint in the BADI, and logged into the portal screen.
However, in SRM5.0, to get into debugging mode from ITS, we place a break point in the BADI, when we browse the ITS link from the IE browser, we will be able to get into debuggin mode.
Any other way ?

Hello,
Please check the following:
1. Application server name, the SAP GUI and the portal should be logged into the same application server.
2. You should be logged in with the same User in both SAP GUI and the Portal.
3. External debugging should be enabled for the User in SAP GUI.
4. Also try checking the check box , IP Matching . This can be done as below:
Utilities -> Settings -> ABAP Editor -> Debugging -> IP Matching.
Also please check the following in the above link , if you have the same user name here with which you have logged onto Portal and the New Debugger Radio Button is Selected.

Calling a WebDynpro application from a SRM Badi

Hi - I will like to call a WebDynpro Abap application from Badi/method IF_EX_BBP_SC_MODIFY_UI~SC_MODIFY_SCREEN in SRM. The purpose is to force certain users to put in som "standard" values to be used in the following steps in the purchase procedure. As it not possible to use ordinary Abap POPUP functions modules I have made a small WebDynpro program to do the wanted function. But when I start the url with CALL FUNCTION 'CALL_BROWSER' or CALL METHOD CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>EXECUTE the return code indicates a frontend error from ITS.
Is there any way that I can get over this error and start my WebDynpro from a Badi in SRM?
Or is there maybe another way to send a POPUP for information to the internet user?

QISR1 BADI implementation Transport

Hi ,
       I have created a Z implementation for badi definition QISR1 .I have entered my Z scenarios as filter types here .My Z scenarios and implementation ( flow logic ) is working fine in Dev server .
                                                            But after transporting to Quality , my Z BADI implementation
is not getting trigerred ie my Z forms are coming up but not pulling data apart from PERNR .
Although the standard scenarions and standard badi implementation HRWPC_PCR is working properly .
                                                  When i debug cl_ex_qisr1 my Z badi implementation is not called in
Quality . Although my implementation is active with all dependant methods also active.
It throws an exception at get badi L_badi   in class cl_ex_qisr1.
                              Is there something I am missing in the BADI transport .
Also ,
I made the standard Badi implementaion HRWPC_PCR inactive and only the Z implementation active .
But still standard scenarios work .
Is this a server issue - executing inactive badis implementation and not active ones .
Will refreshing portal server work ?

what version are you on? on ECC6, I guess the Classic BAdI implemenattaion needs to be converted into an Enhancement Spot ( explicit) implemementation.

Can't get fields values of SRM PO at R/3 PO

Dear all.
I am very muddle that: <b>How to</b> transport SRM web-page PO field value [such as sourcing type, tracking NO. Item category,Vendor text at item level] to Backend R/3 PO?
I can see these 4 fields value on web-page SRM PO. but I can't find its on R/3 PO. others fields is okay. What must I do? How to work it?

You need to then explicitly pass the values for these fields in the BADi "BBP_CREATE_BE_PO_NEW"(For SRM 5.0) or "BBP_CREATE_PO_BACK "(for SRM 4.0).Some of the fields i.e. Tracking no,item category are available on both the sides i.e. R/3 as well as SRM ,so cna be mapped.

Messages displayed in the Approval and message tab in SRM approval is same

We are having an issue with the message displayed in the approval step.When we click on the approval option in SRM, we get two tabs displayed Approval and Messages. The content displayed in both the tab is same for one user. Generally the content displayed in approval tab is "Here you can approve/reject shopping carts, confirmations of goods receipts, and so on.Select 'Edit' to display details" and the details in Messages tab is "Here you can see e-mails on the purchase transaction." But for this particular user the content displayed is "Here you can see e-mails on the purchase transaction." in both the approval and message tab.
We checked the roles and profiles and its same as the other users. Can some one please suggest what would be the reason for this functionality with this user.

OK, so you only have this problem in PROD, all other systems (DEV, QA) are fine... I assume you checked your BAdI transports in PROD as well... If all OK, that leads me to think there's nothing wrong with your custom code or transports.
SRM 5.0 is notorious for these kinds of issues where workflow templates work in one environment, but are erroneous in another (most times this is due to inactive status). That is why I asked you to check the workflow for consistency in SWUD.
From your answer, I did not understand whether you'd checked all the subworkflows separately in SWUD (not as part of the main workflow check). If you didn't do that, find all the subworkflows (and the subworkflows of the subworkflows where applicable) in SWDD by stepping through the main workflow, and then run the SWUD check on each of them separately.
Also, please check the Review workflow WS10000265. This particular workflow may not show in SWDD as a subworkflow, but actually is part of the process. If it's broken, you may encounter issues like you're describing.

Guest Login feature in SRM 7.0

How do we use Guest Login feature in SRM 7.0? Requirements are given below.
1. Purchaser publishes Public RFx.
2. In Conpany's web portal, link is given as "Open Tender-Click here" to enable one time bidder to participate in the Open tender.
3. A new bidder who is not registered as bidder in the organisation would like to participate in the Bidding. He clicks on the above link in the organisation's web portal which will login as "Guest" and direct him to the SRM portal where the Bidder can see public tender Bids.
4. He opens the Bid and analyse the details. Then he can decide to participate.
5. Then either ROS can be used or conventionally he can send mail to the organisation requesting to be a Bidder.
I heard some custom developments are done in few projects with custom screens. But can we achieve the same in a standard way. If developments are required, then complexities involved or process involved in the developments.

According to my information this BADI still exists.
There was a note that entered this BADI into SRM 6.0
1158310 SOCO: Missing BADI in search (first screen)
In SRM 7 this code is here, you could have a look and set BP in /SAPSRM/IF_CLL_DOM_SOCO_GAF1~SEARCH
to check what is happening, it may be something small.
There is nothing on our database about other customers with similar complaints.
The method you would need for sourcing is
IF_EX_BBP_WF_LIST~BBP_WF_LIST_SOCO

Back and Forth Logic in process-controlled (BRF) workflows in SRM 7.0

Hi all,
I am using the process-controlled workflow in SRM 7.0.
The approval itself works ok, but now I am trying to set up the back-and-forth functionality (similar to how it worked for the Badi in SRM 5.0) as default:
This is what happens:
Requester creates shopping cart.
Shopping cart goes for approval.
Approver rejects SC.
Back at the requester the SC can only be displayed, but not changed.
As far as I can tell this happens for any kind of decision set (as long as all items are rejected).
This is what I am trying to set up.:
Once the SC is back at the requester, he can either accept the rejection OR change the SC and 're-order' it ie send it back to approver again.
I know if the requester checks the flag 'Work Item to Requester at Process End' this can be done, but I need the system to have this functionality automatically without setting a flag manually.
I really appreciate any suggestions on this issue.

I have applied note 1296209.
When i tried to set up this step I did the following:
level type of that step I used 'Approval with completion'.
Created Expression of type SAP Formula Interpreter, with return type Boolean, and use formula:
0V_WF_CURRENT_DECISI = 'REJECTED'
linked the evaluation id to above expression.
Task id for the step is: 40007994 - Accept Decision / Adjust Document
When i do this and create a SC, my system dumps after clicking on describe requirement::
The following error text was processed in the system SR7 : The method could not be found at dynamic call.
The error occurred on the application server SAP01_SR7_07 and in the work process 1 .
The termination type was: RABAX_STATE

What I don't understand about your explanation is what you mean by "Acceptance by Contact person". I don't have that option anywhere in my BRF? Is that supposed to show up under Resp. Resolver Name (like RR_MANAGER)?
Also where did you add that step in Process level configuration? I have 2 approval steps (just approval, without completion) and then i wanted to enter this step after those levels before the automatic system decision. But i wasn't able as the system doesn't allow you to add a completion step after a 'normal' approval step.
