Baffling MuseJSAssert error

Hi — got this error today when loading my site at its new address.
MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:ReferenceError: WebPro is not defined
Try it yourself: thebigdivide.aaronbarn.com
I'm in the process of moving my main business domain from my old site. The upload, I thought, went fine — I did it from inside Muse.
The site seems to load fine. Every tab, every image, every link works.
But. WHenever i click the Home page, up pops that error. Ideas?
Thanks.

webpro.js is missing from your scripts subfolder at http://thebigdivide.aaronbarn.com/scripts/
Did you use Muse's FTP upload feature to upload your site to this new location?

I launched Muse today and it said there was an updated available. I installed it and then made a few small changes to my 5 page website. Then i exported the HTML and uploaded it to my server.
But now when i try browsing the site in Chrome, I get the following error message:
MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:ReferenceError: Spry is not defined.
The only changes I made were adding some text to a few pages and adding metadata info to each page and when viewing the exported HTML locally (prior to uploading) it all behaves as it should...no error messages.
Any ideas why its doing this? or more importantly, any suggestions on how to stop it from doing this? It wasn't doing this yesterday prior to me making these small changes.
    Here's the URL: www.gardensbytheseaursery.com
    Thanks in advance.

This error would occur if not all the files for the site we're uploaded.
The 2.0 update includes numerous improvements in the generated HTML, CSS and JavaScript, so while you may have directly changed only certain pages, if you're using an external FTP client all the exported files and folders need to be uploaded. (The new built-in FTP support automatically only generates and uploads files that have changed since the previous upload.)

  • I got this warning when i open a specific page on my website in IE : MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:Error: A security problem occurred.

    Hi,
I found out when i'm in IE and go to the page 'Artists'
and i click on a name, for example: 'Abel Equipe ELA/I Gomes'
    I get this warning :
MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:Error: A security problem occurred.
This is only in IE, not when i use Safari or Chrome
    this is the website link
Any ideas how to solve this problem?

There's an invalid hyperlink on the Abel Equipe ELA/I Gomes page on a bit of text that reads "with your input." You need to find this text within Muse, clear the hyperlink and enter a valid one.

  • MuseJSAssert Error

Recently update from CS6 to CC.  Site on GoDaddy has error MuseJSAssert Error: error calling selector function: Error "webPro" is not defined.  I have upload all pages, as well as published HTML and uploaded entire site with Dreamweaver with same result.  This site worked without error when published with CS6.

    Hi,
If you remove the script, will it still give you the error? If so, please share the url of the web page where you have this error. Also, if removing the script fixes the issue then in that case, I'm afraid we won't be able to suggest a workaround, as we do not have control of other scripts interacting with the Adobe Muse output.

  • MuseJSAssert Error - Security Error - Chrome

I am seeing several different JS errors in the posts, but not the exact wording of my issue, which I see when loading exported HTML in Chrome (but not when previewing page in browser!).
I have a problem that seems to have come up since the latest upgrade. My error is:
"MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:SecurityError:Blocked a frame with origin "null" from accessing a cross-origin frame."
The strange part for me is that there's no error at all when using File>Preview Page in Browser. I only get the error when I File>Export Page as HTML and then try to view the output.
I can post a zip file of the HTML output to Adobe, but not publicly. Also, where is the Preview Page stored? If I don't get error on that, why can't I just use that as my HTML output?
    Thanks!

This error is specific to Chrome, and is still occurring in Muse CC 2014. It doesn't occur in current versions of Safari, IE 11, Firefox or Opera.
The HTML has scrolling effects enabled, compositions with rollover show/hide enabled and there's an Edge Animate composition with hyperlinked buttons in index.html. None of the motion-enabled items, nor the EgAn composition, show up in Chrome, which simply throws the error. The problem manifests on both Win 7 and Win 8.1 with exported HTML being run locally.
The Edge Animate composition previews fine by itself in Chrome.
Since it makes the site unusable other than as a demo, it would be good to get a fix.

  • MuseJSAssert Error. Need help.

I need help. All of a sudden, I am getting an error on my website in IE (8 or 9). Here is the error:  MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:TypeError: 'undefined' is not a function (evaluating 'PIE.attach(this)'). Please help someone. This site was just ready to go live. The page is found at www.irmographics.com/adstreet. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes! IE8 doesn't not display Edge Animations. Period. So I figured out a
workaround. Took a lot of my brain power! Just creating the Edge animation
and using this new method to integrate will result in a white box in IE8.
Which is fine, of course, if you can create a down-level stage and that will
present. The trouble was, I had links in my animation and the down-level
stage just would not let me put links on it to different pages (I could put
them, but they didn't show up using this method of integration). Anyway, so
I went back to the original stage, removed the sign post and signs from the
animation, then published my animation without those. I placed that in Muse,
then, on top of it, I placed the sign post and my links to my pages. Now, it
works with the animation and with the down-level stage poster image in IE8!
Like I said, I really had to think through it. The key for me to remember is
that my links need to be something I could do outside of Edge, creating my
menus/navigation in Muse instead and putting on top of the animation. Thank
you for all your help. It did help.

  • What is this: " MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:TypeError: $(...).museMenu is not a fu

Everything works fine in preview. Get this error when uploaded to site and trying to switch between some pages:
    : " MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:TypeError: $(...).museMenu is not a function"
    site is  www.authorizedagents.com

Chrome still reports the http://www.campusone.net/scripts/1_1/jquery.musemenu.js is missing (though note it is now looking in a "1_1" folder rather than a "1.1" folder).
To do exactly what I'm doing to detect this:
    1) Go to a page that reports a JavaScript error or that otherwise shows a missing link for an image using Chrome.
    2) Right click and choose "Inspect Element". It doesn't matter what you click on.
This should bring up the developer tools UI within your browser window.
    3) From the button at the top of the Developer Tools UI click on "Console".
This should display a list of any errors that occurred during the load of the page. In this case it shows the jquery.musemenu.js file was not found.

  • Resolving MuseJSAssert:Errors in Chrome and Firefox

    How do I resolve:
When viewing in Chrome PC and Mac MuseJSAssert:Error calling selector function:TypeError: Cannot read property 'msie' of undefined
Also in FireFox: MuseJSAssert: Error Calling Selector Function:TypeError: JQuery.browser is undefined

I tried with multiple browsers to verify along with the specific ones you have mentioned in Mac and PC but i dont see any script error while loading the page.
    Verified by navigating different pages.
It seems to be related to browser cache ? Please try to remove browser cache and then check.

My Safari browser on my iPhone4s reads the following error when I visit my site www.premiercreativegroup.com:                   MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:TypeError: 'undefined' is not an object (evaluating 'this.elem.get(0).currentStyle').
Not sure where to start on fixing this. Any ideas?

  • MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector...

I have developed a site that has "MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function: TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating 'jQuery.browser.msie" I know that it is because i have inserted an Edge animate menu onto the page in Html and i am able to eliminate the issue by making sure that the Html is at the top if the layer stack. (i did it this way because a .oam file is added as an iframe which does not allow for the window to open under 'self') The site works fine apart from the message.

    Hello,
I would suggest you to refer to the links below that has solution for similar issue.
MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:ReferenceError: Spry is not defined.
MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:ReferenceError: Spry is not defined
Getting "museJSAssert: Error calling selector function: Reference Error: Web Pro is not defined".
If I summarize you need to delete the existing site data at FTP host and re-upload All files and you should be all set.

  • Need help with MuseJSAssert Error

Please help if possible. I am getting the following error after posting site:
MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:TypeError: 'undefined' is not a function (evaluating '$(elem).museMenu()')
I have re-exported and posted the site files and the scripts several times but nothing seems to fix this error.
Files work locally fine. Site appears to function fine after clicking through the error.
    Site URL to view: www.victorydayfootball.com
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, client's event is this saturday and they are getting press traffic as we speak.

It appears "WebStarts" is not intended to provide a generic website hosting service. Rather they provide a service intended solely for websites created with their tools. (Not a good sign when searching on FTP in their FAQ and Help comes up with no hits.)
From the screenshot it looks like the scripts are in the correct place. It may be webstarts is using a non-standard webserver that only serves files from locations where their tools would place them. It may also be the period in the "1.1" folder name could be causing a problem. We have had one other report of the "1.1" folder name causing a problem on a specific hosting provider the customer never named. If that is the problem, the only workaround is a tedious search and replace of the /1.1/ string to something like /1_1/ throughout the exported HTML files (every time their re-exported and re-uploaded) and manually changing the folder name on the server.

  • What does this Adobe Muse error message mean: MuseJSAssert: Error calling slector function:SecurityError: Failed to read the 'contentDocument' property from 'HTMLIFrameElement': Blocked a frame with orign "null" from accessing a cross-origin frame.

So what is up with this error message in Muse?
MuseJSAssert: Error calling slector function:SecurityError: Failed to read the ‘contentDocument’ property from ‘HTMLIFrameElement’: Blocked a frame with orign “null” from accessing a cross-origin frame.

This is a genuine security error generated by the browser when viewing a page with iFrame content locally.

  • MuseJSAssert error in browser

Hi there, I have uploaded all my Muse files and folders as HTML via Cpanel and made sure they are all there via FTP and they are, now I get this error when I look at the website live: "MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:TypeError: 'undefined' is not a function (evaluating '$(elem).museMenu()')".
None of the scroilling pictures are working now, I had the website working OK before, then I had to make some changes in Muse which meant I had to upload them all over again as you cant just uplaod the newest files, I can't do it straight from Muse via FTP as it stops at 60% everytime, so the only way I can do it is to download all the files as HTML then transfer them all via FTP or Cpanel, which is nuts really and takes ages!
I have tried several ways, I have tried deleting all the files completely and uploading them all again, its taken me 3 hrs to upload them all to find it doesnt work. eekkk
I started off with the website on BC but when I realised the Captcha wouldnt work I transfered it to my existing host, maybe there is a clash with BC? But I dont know how to resolve this. its so frustrating. I took off the captcha but I have noticed its still there when you go to the index page then when you click off it and then back its gone.
    Muse version 7.2.232 on Mac
    Website: www.greenthumbmarketing.com.au
    Can anyone help. Thanks

Sorry about the troubles , I will try to fix this.
Have you already deleted the domain from BC end ? Because when I check the DNS and Mail records , I don't see that they are pointing to BC servers.
A record can be used when you are using external hosting , It would do same thing as using name server record while using internal hosting , but TXT is only required when you have only added the domain on BC but managing this from C-Panel.
Regarding Mac outlook setup , Have you followed the steps mentioned here :
http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/kb/email-configuration-guide6.html , the document does not includes exact outlook version but the steps should be same and same port values.
There are few suggestions mentioned here  :

  • Getting "museJSAssert: Error calling selector function: Reference Error: Web Pro is not defined".

First off, I am not a coding person. I decided to use Muse becuse I am good with Illustrator and Photoshop.
The sight I built: www.speedcinch.com is now getting a bunch of errors when it initially was working fine. I am using godaddy for a host and using their ftp.
This is the error I am getting now: museJSAssert: Error calling selector function: Reference Error: Web Pro is not defined
You can see how my sight is supposed to work at http://speedcinchcom.businesscatalyst.com/index.html
I have no idea what to do. Please help.

Well, if nothing else I've ascertained that it's not GoDaddy's connectivity issue, as the issue continues late into today, and it does vary a bit per the other error reports. Using FileZilla there are just a few timeouts in the log, enough to give some pause but not necessarily (according to GD) disruptive. I've checked the list of uploaded files against the Muse Export folder contents and everything is there. In fact, the site looks good, buttons work, rollovers, etc, but there are no images. Like everyone else, this has cost me time and money in the last 24 hours.
Let's see what the good people at Adobe live chat have to say, and I'll share it with you.
