You have created two threads. You may please close one of them.
However, I am giving you the reply here also, because I do not know which thread you observe.
I do not know in which context you are referring as "assessment element"
You can create a cost element by using KA06 and create a secondary cost element. However, the system will prevent you if you try to create a cost element which is balance sheet GL Account. You have give a name which is not a GL account. Then only you are able to create the secondary cost element.
For assessment, you can select the cost element category "42". The cost element can be used for configuration in CO.

Condition type for fee - no change of moving price or balance sheet account
Hi, hope you can help me.
We need a new condition type for a kind of fee which has to be paid to the vendor and used in the purchase order.
This is a condition type which
- has to be part of the invoice
- has to be posted as a kind of accrual
- must not! change the price of the material or the balance sheet account
If we use freight conditions the moving price is changed.
Because it is dependent on the material (and therefore a condition record works great) we can't or better don't want to use a second position in the purchase order.
Does anybody have a solution for this one?

In the Calculation Schema it's defined just before the Actual Price, with Statistical-checkbox marked and Account key ZE1, Account key - accruals / provisions ZE2.

Profit center charge to balance sheet account
Hi SAP experts,
I would like to seeking for professional advice on is below business process require to use MM module?
Currently my customer is using MB1B (material transfer) to make an posting to balance sheet account (100) and in MB1B screen there was a column to assign profit center (P1).
So the accounting document will be DR 100(g/l) & CR 110(g/l) and charge to P1(profit center)
When customer go to view on KE80, will show the amount transfer charge to cost element 400
When i go to view line item display for g/l 100, i didn't see got any profit center is assign to as i know that balance sheet account not require to charge cost object (customer is not in SAP 5.0)
Now i would like to ask is there any possible, i can post a profit center(P1) to balance sheet account(100) and charge to other cost element (400) without using MB1B? only use manual general ledger accounting posting (FB01)
Note: customer is not in ECC6

I'm not an expert in Cost accounting at all. from my own experience I know, that some of P&L accounts might be relevant to Cost accounting and in this case you need to make appropriate settings in the following node for Treasury: Treasury and Risk Management -> Transaction Manager -> General Settings -> Accounting -> Link to Other Accounting Components -> Allocate Additional Account Assignments to Account Assignment References.
I guess in your case it is only Interest Income account relevant for Cost center, you can check it by clicking on field Reference key in standard report TPM20 and you should be referred to window with several documents, including Cost accounting document. As far as I remember, Cost accounting document might consist of just one line item.

If i see the GL document profit center assigned at line item, but i couldnot able to view the PCA report for Balance sheet account

Clssic PCA maintained PC in 3KEH.
Assigned PC in Material Master consumption entry Consumption (P&L) to Inventory (B/S)
Consumption (P&L) updated with Profit center and PCA document created
Inventory (B/S) line updated with Profit center but PCA document was not created.

Not realy clear which scenario u r trying to address here. But you can post the Goods receipt to a balance sheet account. U can ideally create a separate valuation class and use the same for account determination. The materials for which you are making the PO have to be asigned to that particular valuation class. The rest of the configurations will remain as they are. But in the transaction key you will include the new valuation class and assign it to balance sheet account. -

Please review the below information regarding cost elements category 90 : Financial Accounting Balance Sheet Accounts
Category 90 is automatically assigned when you create cost elements in CO whose general ledger accounts in FI are asset reconciliation accounts
(special balance sheet accounts), not income statement accounts. You
cannot change this category in CO master data maintenance.
FI does not require CO account assignments to cost elements of
category 90. However, if you enter an account assignment, it is only
recorded statistically for real objects.
Category 90 allows you to check order or project budgets for fixed
asset procurement. To do so, enter the investment order or WBS element
in the corresponding field in the asset master. The Asset Management
component ensures that the order or element automatically appears in
the document when you access the asset procurement.
The R/3 System debits the order/WBS element statistically in the
Controlling component, which you can then monitor with availability
control.
You can treat cost elements of category 90 as activity-independent as
part of cost center planning.
Also see note 75980 for further information. From the note:
The use of cost element category 90 is only provided in the standard
system in the following two cases:
1. As of Release 3.0G, asset acquisitions and down payments which are
assigned directly to a fixed asset or asset under construction can
be assigned to an account on internal orders or WBS elements
statistically. In this manner, for example, an availability check
can be triggered on the order or the WBS element for asset posting.
2. As of Release 4.0, cost elements of category 90 can also be created
for material stock accounts to display material make-to-order stocks
on sales orders or customer projects.

IF you want to see the accumulated balances you need to select the period from 0 to 12.
EX: you want to open the report up to period 6th 2009 and want see the figures including the carryforward balances from 2008.
then in selection screen select the from period = 0 and to period =6.

Goods receipt(PO) - balance sheet account

Can someone explain to me what does posting to balance sheet account upon goods receipt means?
Does balance sheet account = inventory account?
Does this mean that the inventory qty has to be increased after GR?

1)Currently, for sales order purchases, we are using acct assign category "sales order" in PO, the stock qty is consumed by the sales order upon goods receipt.
And it will post to COGS & GR/IR acct upon Goods receipt.
If the requirement is to post to balance sheet account upon GR,
-does that mean I have to bring this qty into inventory?
- meaning I should be using another acct assign category in the PO.
2)Another scenario is that they also purchase services for the sales order, and they are handling this purchase using another customized acct assign category in the PO that allows you to post to G/L acct directly without cost center. (no material master entered in the PO)
Upon IV, it will post to COGS and vendor accounts.
If the requirement is to post to balance sheet account upon IV,
- is that possible?
- Does that mean i have to bring this services into inventory as well? does not really make sense..

Items posted to accounts managed on an open item basis are marked as open or cleared. The balance of these accounts is always equal to the balance of the open items.
Procedure
Set up accounts with open item management if offsetting entries are to be assigned to the postings made to these accounts. Postings to these accounts represent incomplete transactions.
Example:
A goods receipt/invoice receipt (GR/IR) clearing account should be managed on an open item basis so that you can check at any time whether invoices have been received for the goods received for an order.
Set up accounts without open item management if no offsetting entry is to be made against a posting to this account.
Examples
Accounts that are managed on an open item basis include:
Clearing accounts:
Bank clearing account
Payroll clearing account
Cash discount clearing account
GR/IR clearing account
Accounts that are not managed on an open item basis:

Balance sheet account postings to Internal order
Hi All,
I have a situation in which I have to make a prepaid expense from a BS account but want to assign it to an internal order so that when this expense actually occur, I can use this internal order report for all the prepayment made against that expense. I can create a cost element for this BS account but this is not a good practice. Do you guys have any other idea that I can implement here which is good practice and also solve the problem.

SAP Best practises is not to assign Internal Order to a Balance Sheet GL Account.
In the Standard SAP, you might get an error if you assign an order to a Balance sheet account, but you have an option to change the error message from error to warning.
You might have to change the field status group assign to the balance sheet gl account to make the Order as Optional Entry.

We are supporting our people around the world and also we are putting in new SAP systems in our organisation. Currently we have three different clients world wide, with different organizational levels. We are on SAP ECC 6.0 however not using the new GL yet.
So far so good ;-)..

We are currently in the US trying to switch on balance sheet accounting for PCA due to business unit requirements.
We've got:
- Assets
- Material
- AP and AR
working! All with periodic transfer which we found more stable then online. When created the opening balances did match for AP and assets to FI and AR and material were just a little bit of, that was great.
Now we are running into the problem with all the other balance sheet accounts and still we are reading documentation, OSS Notes and all kind of stuff, but still we have problems. The issues are:
- Do we have to assign every account in 3KEH which is not covered by assets, ap/ar, and material? We tested it with a bank account and it is working, but the table in 3KEH only gives you the option of one PC, plus you can use derivation rule. Ok, there is a user exit but we are not sure about that...
- Why can't we use the profit center which is populated in the balance sheet account? Every BS account has the radio button 'profit center required' for example we have an accrual account in the PC is in there, we can see it, put when we move the FI document over with 1KE8 nothing happens.
- On the other hand we had an account and it was just working the way I described with 1KE8, the document was moved over to PCA.
We are really a little bit confused, since assets, AP/AR and material worked so well, we seem to be blocked on the other accounts and not sure what is the best way to go.
Any response is highly appreciated!

JVA: CutBack for Balance Sheet Accounts
Hi all,
We have some business requirements where for some specific processes we need to cuback the amounts regarding Pre-Payments or depreciation amounts of non-production assets (moveable assets like cars).
The problem seems that those amounts are in Balance Sheet accounts (of course, for the depreciation amounts the P/L side can be cutbacked without issues).
So, my question is; How can we cutback the amounts posted to the Balance Sheet GL accounts since these don't require any cost object.

you have to use substitution rule in FI and JV to default recovery indicator for balance sheet cutback
kindly note based on the billing indicator you have chosen at company code recovery indicator derivation will work, you can however overwrite using substitution

As per Oracle following are the rules that has to be followed for translation.
1. For Balance Sheet Accounts (Asset & Liabilities) GL as a default uses the YTD rule.
2. For P&L Accounts you can choose between YTD and PTD rule. So in your case you can use the default PTD Rule. (Profile Option 'GL Translation: Revenue/Expense Translation Rule')
YTD Rule = (Translated Period Amount = Period-End Rate x YTD Ledger Currency Balance - Beginning Translated Balance).
PTD Rule = (Translated Period Amount = Period Average Rate x PTD Ledger Currency Balance)

Is there a way to upload plan data for balance sheet accounts? I can upload revenue/cos and expenses through the profit center and cost center uploading but need to upload balance sheet accounts as well. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.Loading balance sheet accounts using the Excel load to profit center tells me that I selected balance sheet accounts that cannot be entered manually. Not sure what this means... if I have an accounts receivable account, how would I find another equivalent account?
