BAM Administrator Limited View

Hi,
I currently have a limited view in the drop down list of the BAM Administrators page. I can only see
User Management
Roles Management
Distribution List Management
Can someone please explain why I cannot see other entries there such as Login Management or Message Centre Management? Have I missed something when starting the BAM server?

Right now, you can only get movies and tv shows if you are in the U.S. or you have a bank account and address in the U.S. Or if you get a gift certificate that is from the U.S. you can access it that way. But if you use an out of the country bank, address or buy a non us gift certificate you are out of luck. What I mean by U.S. gift certificate is one that is purchased in the U.S. or over the net with a U.S. credit card drawn on a U.S. bank. Hope this helps, and sorry. I am an American as well and live in Mexico, and took me awhile to figure it out.

WRT610N FTP Administration: Limited Options

I'm wondering if there's a way go get more options for FTP administration, or if there's someone I can contact for feature requests. Basically, while an FTP server is quite a useful feature, the administration options are very limited, especially for security.
It would be nice if home directories can be set for individual users, and be able to set directory permissions rather than just relying on permissions based solely on group permissions. More important than anything else, is the ability to monitor the FTP site. I set up a syslog viewer on my local machine, but its limited to only the connections being made and broken, not allowing to view directory access.
Any input will be appreciated.

BAM Activity and view issue on BizTalk server 2013 R2 machine.

I am trying to make BAM portal work since couple of days but no luck yet...
I ma using BizTalk server 2013 R2.
I am trying to deploy the activity and view from my Development server to Test server ( it's working fine on Developemnt).
I have gone through one post and found this and followed steps here is the output for that :
First confirm that you can see the name of the activity in the list of deployed activity by executing this command:
bm.exe get-activities
--> I can see the activity name in there so I belive that activity is got created.
While creating the BAM activity you must have created/deployed a view get the name of the view by using this command:
bm.exe get-views -Activity:<activity name>
--> I can see the view name in there so I belive that view is exist.
You need to provide permission to the account you are using to access the BAM portal on this view by using this command.
bm.exe add-account -AccountName:”<AccountName>” -View:<viewname>
--> while executing this command is got error as :
Using 'BAMPrimaryImport' BAM Primary Import database on server 'TESTSERVER'...
ERROR: Security management of the BAM view failed.
The SQL role for the specified view is missing.
Note : My BAMAlert service is running and running using
GROUP\~biztalkservice account I am logged on Test Server using "NitinUser" account with administrator rights.
What does this mean - if this mean that I needs to give rights to my user (NitinUser) on SQL Database please tell me how to do that ? with command....

His solution for this problem is to remove the view and re-add it, which worked for him. Obviously I didn't encounter this error, so have to suggest the solution from community.

As per that post the author was having issue that view was not created ...
also have noticed one thing that by executing following command in sql management studio.
use
BamPrimaryImport
SELECT
SUSER_SNAME(owner_sid),nameFROMsys.DATABASES
on my development box it's showing my user GROUP\nitinUser and Name = CustomBizTalkDB
but when I execute this on TEST server, entry for GROUP\nitinUser is not in database

Cannot access Bam Administrator via URL

Do I need to configure something in IIS? I used a mix of the Quick Install and the Install instructions. I discontinued the Quick Install after I ran bam\scripts\misc\orabam_ts_users.sql, and install.cmd failed to recognize that the tablespace and users had been created. Here are the details of my installation:
Oracle BAM 10.1.2.1.0
Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, SP 2
Internet Information Services Version 5.1
Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1
In Internet Explorer, entered: http://localhost/OracleBAM/
Error #1: The text of the default.htm file displayed. It did not correctly process the embedded ASP lines.
Changed to Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0.

hello, I guess your install did not complete fully.
Let us try two options (a) repair existing (b) reinstall completely.
(a) repair existing - in your computer -controlpanel- admin -iis- right click on website, oraclebam, and click on remove/create button to recreate the oraclebam application.
restart iis server and see if this error is overcome
(b) reinstall - using your computer-controlpanel-remove appls- remove (in this order) oraclebam, enterpriselink, oracle dotnet provider (odac), ms dotnet framework1.1.
remove directory c:\temp\bamlog, bamtemp, c:\bam_install1, c:\oraclebam completely and reboot.
using install.cmd and reinstall the prd completely (note - run install.,cmd 3 times).

About "populating users in oracle Bam administrator"

in Fusion Middleware Administrator's guilde, 23.3.6, it mentions 2 way of populating user in BAM.
But there are some difference..
if use RegisterUsers Utility, the user's groups are also populated in BAM,(can see in Active Studio, change folder permissions). but if use populating by user login, user's group are not populated in BAM.
so if i want to populate groups, i must use RegisterUsers Utility?

That is strange. I think you are confusing confusing enterprise groups (e.g. LDAP) with BAM application roles (e.g. Administrator, ReportCreator, etc.). BAM only adds/synchronizes enterprise groups if those groups have assigned BAM application roles. This is done to make sure that users are assigned the correct BAM application roles even when the role is granted by virtue of membership in an enterprise group that is assigned that application role. This is done for both login and registerUser(), so their is no difference between the two regarding enterprize groups.

Administration Edition- View Business Areas

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to install the Oracle discoverer Administration edition for a user, but only with query/view rights on Business Areas ?.
The user should not be able do make changes , but only to view : eg : folder links, custom folder queries, properties etc.
Or is there another way of getting the information regarding the setup for a certain Business Area ?

Hi,
It depends what version of Discoverer you are using. If you are using a later version (10g) then you can give the user administration privilege but no privilege to change the EUL (e.g. format business area). Then when the user connects to Disco Administrator they get read only access to the EUL.
If you are using a previous version then you will have to either write a report off the EUL tables that gives them all the information they need (The Oracle provided EUL Definition Business gives most of this information), or implement your own read only constraints using database triggers.

Restrict administrator from viewing "out of the box" reports

I want to create an administrator who will be restricted to viewing a single report (a new dashboard report). Is there anyway to "turn off" the administrators ability to see all of the out-of-the-box reports that are created / owned by sysman? For example, logging into GC as the administrator and browsing to : *[http://{oms:port}/em/console/reports/admin|http://oms:port/em/console/reports/admin]* displays all of the out-of-the-box report definitions. I only want this administrator to see the one custom report, (a dashboard) that I've created for him.

Limited view on 2nd level Navigation Bar

Hi
Is there a way to assign permission on a page on the 2nd level navigation?
I explain:
First level has teh Entry Point "MY Work".
Second Level has the pages assigned to My Work
"Page A" "Page B" "Page C"
Currently, I assign My Work role to everyone, so they will view all 3 pages.
PROBLEM:... I want "Page C" to be under "My Work" BUT only be viewed by selected users.
Can this be done?
How else can I do this?
Help needed urgently!!

Hi RD,
two possibilities:
a) By merging roles (the standard way). See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/53/89503ede925441e10000000a114084/frameset.htm for details. Experts would have roles "Everyone" as well as "Expert".
b) By delta links: You create a workset as entry point "MyWork" containing Pages A and B; this workset is assigned to Role Everyone. Than you create a Role "Expert", assign the workset "MyWork" as deltalink (already containing pages A and B), now adding page C. Experts would have Role "Expert" only.

"run as" administrator limitations

Hi... For years I have been an administrator on my PC runnings Windows XP Pro and now on a new machine running Windows 7 Enterprise. I build code in LabVIEW and have worked for years (on the XP Pro machine) in versions ranging from 6.1 through 7.1 and now up through 8.5... I don't currently own 8.6, 2009 or 2010. My company, for computer security reasons, is moving toward a model where I will no longer be able to simply "log on" as an admin. I will instead log on as what I am assuming is what would be akin to a Power User. But I would also have an admin account, just not one that will allow me to log on to my machine. Instead, if I need to perform an admin function, like installing some software, I would right click on say some software installer's .exe file, and choose "run as administrator". So far so good... But what impact does that have on my ability to build LabVIEW executables, including those where I also create an installer for that executable using the Application Builder??? Can I do that with only this "run as administrator" capability??? If so, how would I do that??? And are there any other things I am missing about working with LabVIEW that I won't be able to do with the admin capability like I've described above???
Any feedback would be much appreciate...

As long as you can run LabVIEW, you should have no problem building an executable. Just be sure to build it into a folder where you have write permission.
What you may have trouble with is installing any EXE+Installer you build with LabVIEW. That's generally where you need elevation. But you could always give the installer to your IT dept and tell them where to install it. If you are a power user, you may still be able to install new programs anyway.

         As far I know there is no such provision till date SAP have given.
          Well to exactly answer your question, Visual Admin as you know the online administration tool is meant for effectively administered by none other than administrator who installs the WebAS.If many users logs in Visual Admin even though they are not the adminstrator this will surely affects the performance of VA.If your concern is to monitor the log of the development system well then the administrator can monitor it and can share it with the team in many ways a typical example through collaboration by creating a room or even simply by emailing the group at regular intervals.

Limited "View As" Choices in Media Browser (CS4)

I am just getting acquainted with Premier Pro and I am using Clasroom in a Book to get a feel for the application. I am working on a lesson that uses P2 media examples. According to the instructions, I am supposed to select "Panasonic P2" in the window for "View As" in the media browser. Except for "File Directory" all the choices are greyed out and I am unable to change the selection.
I have also viewed an Adobe on line tutorial about P2 files and Premier, and in that tutoril, a new file structire open automatically so the various piece of the P2 media are all integrated for easy viewing. I am unable to get this to happen.
According to my updater, I have the latest updates installed for Premier Pro CS4. I've delved into the Help files without any success and have explored the menus, also without finding what I am looking for, namely, how does this feature get turned on?
While I do not anticipate woking with P2 media, it is frustrating not to have the application behave as the tutorial says it should. Thanks for ANY help regarding this problem.
As an aside, this is my first venture into any type of video editing. Other than this glitch, Premier looks like it is well designed and I having no trouble getting around the basics of it. Premier will go way beyond my present needs and I will have to grow into this program's capabilities.

Ok, got Premier to recognize theP2 media properly and display as the tutorial showed, but now I'm more puzzled than ever over why it was happening like it was.
Thinking I did not copy all the tutorial files over to my external drive, I put the DVD in the drive and used Media Browser to browse to the lesson on the DVD. My screen matched the tutorial perfectly. I then did another copy of the DVD using the command line xcopy command and specifying to take hidden files and keep all the file structure in tact and replace any files already existing in the target.
When I use Media Browser to go to the external drive, the P2 files are not at all like the lesson is supposed to look. Without opening a new project, I can go to the DVD and everything is as it should be, just like the tutorial shows.
Since I can get this to work from the DVD, I'm OK with this solution, but it leave me wondering why it does not display the same way if I use the files on an external drive.
