Bam in cluster?
i did now business process management in cluster on jboss.
now i did try to install the preconfigured jboss for BAM but did not find the cluster server configuration.
is it even possible to install BAM in cluster?
found this docu: Maximizing Business Performance with BAM - Adobe
seems like for bam is only active/passive cluster the way.
you know how to do it?

Hi,
I need install ORACLE BAM in cluster. I need help or documentation.
Thanks,
MarcioBased on the 10g Features by Edition document
http://www.oracle.com/database/product_editions.html
it appears that FailSafe is included with your enterprise edition license. What I don't know, and what you'd probably need to discuss with your Oracle Sales rep, would be how licensing works in that environment. I don't know whether you would need to license all the CPUs in all the machines in the cluster or only on one node.

Does anybody know how to set up ODI with BAM Cluster? We don't want to have ODI running on a separate machine, should we install ODI on each BAM node and point it to the same repository and have agents running on both machines?
Thank you.Hi,
I think so.
One managed server that is the server with the BAM server and app on there (which will be migrated to the second machine)
One managed server only with the BAM app on it.
This looks like active-passive to me but I can be wrong.
Can this cause something like the error I had because I'm not sure that the migration is setup as it is supposed to (didn't test it yet)
Any idea on what could cause this is welcome and offcourse a way to solve it.

BAM Cluster setup - issue with whole server migration configuration
HI,
We are working on a SOA , BAM , BPM Cluster setup on OEL VMs
With Admin server running on Host1 and Soa_server1, BAM_server1 , Host2 - Soa_server2 , Bam_server2.
We were successfully able to setup clustering for Soa without using the webTier utilities in our environment, Just by adding entries in the /etc/hosts file.
Followed the document - except for web tier setup
http://www.namredlek.nl/orasoa/InstallSOASuite11gOnCluster_v1.pdf
1) Installed Weblogic 11g.
2) Soa 11g.
3) Domain creation
4) Configured Node manager
5) Soa Clustering completed successfully.
6) Domain up and running with SOA_Cluster up and running.
7) Extended the domain with BAM
The issue revolves when we are doing teh Migration configurations from the console for BAM and we restart BAM server we get an error -

java.io.IOException: Command '/oracle/Shared_MWHome/user_projects/domains/SOA_Domain/bin/server_migration/wlsifconfig.sh -addif eth0 192.168.1.6 255.255.255.0 ' returned an unsuccessful exit code '1'. Check NM logs for script output.
This error occurs due to a failure in adding the virtual IP of BAM server to the network interface you have specified in nodemanager.properties.
You need to check whether you have specified the correct interface and subnet mask in node manager.properties as below :
The fourth step is to edit the Node Manager's properties file. This file is called nodemanager.properties
and is located in the ORACLE_BASE/product/osbmw/wlserver_10.3/common/nodemanager directory.
For server migration to work properly, you need to add the properties listed below:
Interface=eth0
NetMask=255.255.255.0
UseMACBroadcast=true
· Interface
This property specifies the interface name for the floating IP (for example, eth0).
· NetMask
This property specifies the net mask for the interface for the floating IP. The net mask should the
same as the net mask on the interface; 255.255.255.0 is used as an example in this document.
· UseMACBroadcast
This property specifies whether or not to use a node's MAC address when sending ARP packets,
that is, whether or not to use the -b flag in the arping command. -
SOA 11.1.1.5 two Node Cluster BAM not starting on the second Machine
Hi,
I have installed Oracle SOA 11.1.1.5 in a 2 Node Cluster. Both SOA Managed Servers are coming up fine. BAM Managed Server installed on the primary HOST also comes up fine. But my second BAM Managed Server is not starting. I don't see anything in the logs and on the Console the status is showing as Starting but it never starts. I can access the BAM Console for the one installed on the primary HOST but when giving the URL for the second HOST it doesn't come up as the I don't see an option the server is running.
I have 2 machines for this cluster setup
On machine one with IP Address: *192.168.2.2* all below servers come-up fine
Admin
BAM1
SOA1
On machine two with IP Address: *192.168.3.3* have the below servers and only the SOA is coming up fine BAM not starting
BAM2 not starting
SOA2 coming up fine also
After giving user/password this is what I see in the terminal window and it never moves looks like getting stuck:

ThanksHi,
I have installed Oracle SOA 11.1.1.5 in a 2 Node Cluster.

-ChaituThe issue was with JMS modules. I missed to identify the subdeployments tab for UMSJMSSystemResource where we had two sub deployments as UMSJMSSubDMSOA and UMSJMSSubDMSOA_auto..
I've removed the second subdeployment and all resources listed against is by following this below path in Admin Console
click JMS Modules -> Click UMSJMSSystemResource -> Click the Subdeployments tab.
Ensure that UMSJMSSubDMSOA is the only subdeployment available. Remove others if listed and all dependant resources as applicable to your environment.
Go back to UMSJMSSystemResource and click Targets.
Deselect BAM_Cluster as target.
Click Save and Activate.
Upon subsequent restart, the Server came up nice and fine.

Help Needed with BAM Cluster Install - Going to production this week
For our production system we plan on having a two node active/passive Windows 2003 server cluster for BAM. My first attempt at installation was not successful, and I'd like clarification/advice from anyone who has been through a clustered BAM install.
Each node has a local C: and E: drive. Each node also has access to a Q: and R: drive when it is the active node in the Windows cluster.
The BAM installation guide says to do the install (with the ADC cluster component selected) on each node. It then says later to make sure that the ADC directories are installed on the shared drives before running cluster.exe and configuring the clustered ADC service.
I installed BAM to each node on the node's local E: drive. Then I realized that there is no way to tell BAM (at least I could not find a config file that specified it) where to put the ADC cache files! I pressed ahead anyhow, running cluster.ex, but needless to say in the end the service would not come up on any cluster node.
The next thing I tried was to evict node2 from the cluster so I had a single node cluster. I then removed BAM from the remaining node and reinstalled it to the shared R: drive. The install completed OK but I still could not get the clustered service to start.
In the process of all of this, somehow something has corrupted the cluster so that the nodes can no longer obtain the Cluster IP and Cluster Name. I also found out that they had issues with the IIS install on one of the nodes as well. At this point I have asked our system administrators to re-image both boxes and re-cluster them.
My question is: Can anyone outline the steps to installin BAM on a two node cluster?
Specifically, does each install go to the shared drive (have one node down install to the active node's shared drive and then switch and do the install on the second node with it pointing to the shared drive) or is there some other way to point the ADC service to the shared drive for it's directories?
ANY help would be appreciated!

How to Install BAM on Veritas Cluster?
I have to install BAM on system which use Veritas Cluster
I don't know how?I guess you visited this link (http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/livecycle/). But if you read the docs under "Installing and Deploying LiveCycle ES on Server Clusters" carefully then you will see "Preparing to Install LiveCycle ES (Server Cluster)" and below you can see docs for each AppServer. These docs are sufficient to install LC on a cluster.

Hi,
I need to preserve consistency of data in BAM, meaning BAM itself does not require HA, but I need to guaranty there is no loss of data (even if BAM server is down). I have a single BAM server and a cluster of WLS where the JMS queues/topics are located (data is read from JMS queues/topics using EMS).
Using any kind of topic means loss of data once BAM server is down.
BAM does not reconnect after migration so using a queue on a migrate-able JMS server also does not seem to work.
Using a distributed queue requires a queue for each EMS instead of using a single queue with Message Selector. And anyways there is no reconnection in this case as well.
What would be the preferred approach than?
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
Regards.Hi
There are a couple of performance related measures that you can take :
- Creating aggregates on 3-4 objects which are very popular in terms of reporting. Make sure that you don' t go overboard with this as maintaining too many aggregates could create a memory issue.
- If you are using BI 7.0 , then go for 'Repartitioning'. Would help you in loading data as well as during reporting.
- Compressing / Indexing are always available and good options.
- I don't compressing could create an issue even if your Info cube gets populated thru multiple data sources.
Cheers

The configuration directory C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\common\bin\config does not exist and the admin server is not available.
It clearly mentions that config.xml file was not found - which is needed for the Admin Server to start. Check in the above location if one exists or not. -
BAM HA (clustering) Question - Where to run the IIS services?
Referring to the BAM HA guide I have a set up similar to what is recommended for a "medium" sized installation:
Cluster 1 with two nodes running ADC, Event Service, Enterprise Link, IIS
Cluster 2 with two nodes running the Report Service, IIS
The question is which cluster should be the target for users and which should be the target for BPEL sensor actions?
Right now I have individual users pointed to cluster 2 and the BPEL processes pointed to cluster 1. I originally did it this way because the ADC is on cluster 1 and I thought that performance might be better from the BPEL web service call (for sensor actions) perspective, since that is where my primary load is coming from. Doing this seems requires IIS running on all nodes, which to me seems incorrect. If I point everything users, report users, and BPEL sensor actions to cluster 2 is that more correct (i.e. better balancing of load) ?
Thanks! Thanks for the hint with /var/run/daemons
On the other hand this solves my problem only partially, because using the /etc/rc.d/Serv start method I cannot see the proper order in which the services were started and at what point they failed.
I was expecting to have something like http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?quer … ormat=html
In freebsd the dmesg prints the system buffer, not only the kernel buffer. -
Hardware Configuration recommendation for SOA/BPM/OSB 11.1.1.5 Cluster
Hi,
Want to find out what is the recommended hardware configuration including Memory on the box. Trying to install a 2 Node Cluster of SOA 11.1.1.5 with SOA/BPM, BAM, OSB part of the same domain. All binaries to be installed on a NAS. OS is HP-UX. How much memory is ideal on each box if running SOA Service / BPM workflows and processes,BAM,OSB, Custom ADF Task Flow Apps with a large number of transactions. SO wondering what is an ideal configuration. IS there a matrix or a some kind of spreadsheet to come up with the numbers.
ThanksUnfortunately there is no simple way to figure this out. The recommendation varies on the basis of multiple factors (from load to avg size of the payload). Please contact your local Oracle Sales Representative and they should help you out in identifying the best possible configuration/sizing for your system.
Regards,
Anuj -

Bam server and metadata Language
Hi,
I installed Livecycle 8.2 with Bam server.
I configure process management with Bam.
When I log on dashboard or workbench, the language is in French, what I want.
But for example the events in workbench or dimensions in dashboard are display in English.
How can I have all the display in French ?
I suppose it depends on the database.
ThanksHi "Help Please" (funny name),
I think you relate to the Oracle ESB (in 11g mediator)? In that case the metadata server relates to the repository definitions and the Run-time server does what its name suggests. In a single node setup these can run in the same container. But in a HighAvailability setup there can only run one Metadataserver in a cluster at the same time. The Runtime server can have multiple instances. So these can run in a active-active configuration. The metadata server then should be in a seperate container that is configured active-passive. So that if the active one goes down opmn can bringup the passive one.
Regards,
Martien

Shuffle within a Playlist?
So when you set the control to shuffle, will it shuffle within the playlist selected, or just shuffle everything on the unit like the old shuffles do? As soon as someone gets one, or if an Apple moderator is monitoring this, let us know. Thanks
