Can we dinstall oracle binaries from oracle home after installing base version+companion cd+patchset 10.2.0.4
+merge patch ?
If yes then please provide me the steps.

Some versions of "OUI uninstall" does not actually remove the files, just removes the references in the inventory. In which case you manually rm the ORACLE_HOME after the OUI uninstall. I can not remember which version/patch changed that behaviour (Somewhere around 10g/10gR2)

[Problem with U310 and W8] Deinstalled my WuDFRd-Drivers

i just set up my new u310 with windows 8 and it worked fine. Then i realised, that on startup it takes about 4-10 minutes to search for wifi and i began struggeling around with things... deinstalled some drivers, reinstalled them again, just to see which drivers collide because the wifi service didnt start on startup.
Then i saw a message on my system which was timed around the startup time and it said "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\LENOVOVHID\0000.". I looked it up on the internet and i saw that few people had the same problems with the long startup and similar things... so i just deinstalled the "Windows Driver Package - Lenovo WuDFRd Drivers" to reinstall a newer version or something like that.... but problem is, Where can i find this Driver package? I just cant find it. Will the startup problem be solved with a new installation of these drivers? Please help me

Thank you for your response. Originally, I had a problem with Airport and ended up reinstalling Snow Leopard. Since then, when downloading upgrades etc, such as HP printer drivers, iTunes etc., towards the end of the download when its running the script, I get this message: /System/Library/Extensions/comcy_driver_USBDevice.kext
+was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it or contact product's vendor for update+
Sometimes, the download hangs and is unable to complete. The main problem I've encountered so far with an application is when I use the printer to scan an image via Preview, it's blank: there's nothing there.

Oracle deinstall doesnt work. I guess you have to reinstall windows?

we could not get 11g R2 to work on a new Windows 2008 server.
So now we need to remove it.

The correct way to uninstall is to:
1) Start Oracle Universal Installer.
2) Click the Deinstall Products button
3) Select the Oracle home you wish to remove.
4) Check the boxes of components to remove (tediously you have to check every box)
5) Click remove.
But when you do this, a dialogue pops up and says:
"please run the command c:\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\deinstall\deinstall to deinstall Orcacle".
WTH?
Why is the documentation wrong, and why do they tell you to use the installer to deinstall, if its just going to tell you to run a command line?
When you run this, it says:
Specify all Single Instance listeners that are to be de-configured [LISTENER]:
WTH? How does one specify all single instance listeners?
There are litterally hundreds of pages of documentation on how to uninstall oracle - something which should be a trival task. But I cant find any mention of how to find out how to specify all single instance listeners.
In desperation, I tried hitting enter, at least takes you to the next gotcha:

WTH? Why would I want to modify the details of a database? I want to delete oracle and everything it has installed, not modfy details. Should I say yest or no? I have NO idea. Give me more options, or dont ask at all!
If I say y, it says:
Specify the type of this database (1.Single Instance Database|2.Oracle Restart Enabled Database) [1]:
What? I have NO idea what the difference between these two options are. This was never mentioned in the installation process, so way ask now? Why doesnt it just delete the DB as I requested?
At this point I gave up.
Oracle is the worst SW on windows I have seen. Its impossible for a unix and windows sys admin with 20 years experience to even install or remove.

Issue with OBIEE 11g Deinstall

Hi All,
While trying to uninstall OBIEE 11g 6.8 (Simple Install), I guess I did a wrong step, by mistake I unistalled Weblogic Server before deinstalling the Oracle Instance and now while trying to deinstall the instance using "Deinstall Managed ASInstance", it gives me an error "INS- Unable to connect to Oracle WebLogic Administration Server" which makes sense because there is no admin server running now without weblogic.
What should I do now ?
1. Should I proceed with deleting the binaries and then manually delete the instance folder later on - If I do this, will I get an error while doing a fresh installation again?
2. Is there a way to install weblogic server again and then I can start again by deleting the Oracle Instance again
I realize that I should have uninstalled Weblogic Server at the end but now I am stuck, can anybody please help me on this?

Ronny , No where you can't install weblogic to start with uninstall again !
just go with the option #1 if it is linux just rm directory should work otherwise delete the binaries, folders manually & environment variables

Update / deinstall 11.2.3a or 11.2.4 trashes Windows 8

Hi,
We are trying to roll out 11.2.4. Update of primary and sat. servers was ok. Update of Windows 2003/XP/W7 PC's ok as well.
But updating Windows 8 is a nightmare. I'm running HP Elite 8300SFF PC's with W8.0 64 bit and 11.2.3a. Assigned the update via ZCM. PC's start updating, but reports 'update finished with errors' (logs below). No automatic reboot. After manually rebooting, Windows 8 can't boot and not one single repair option works anymore. Only safe mode with command prompt.
Windows repair points to c:\windows\system32\Logfiles\srt\srttrail.txt wich reports corrupted registry. Copying backuped registry files from c:\windows\system32\config\regback does not solve the problem. After more testing it seems:
- Installing 11.2.4 on a 'fresh' Windows 8 PC is no problem.
- Update from 11.2.3.a to 10.2.4 'update finished with errors', trashed Windows 8 after reboot
- Uninstalling 11.2.3a seems to finish ok, but after reboot trashed Windows 8
- Uninstalling 11.2.4 seems to finish ok, but after reboot trashed Windows 8
So assuming update = deinstall old version + install new version leads to te conclusion deinstalling ZCM 11.2.3a/10.2.4 hoses Windows 8?!?
Anyone seen this?

Nope, neither licensed or using ZESM. And fyi, Agent Location Awareness is
configured to 'Location Awareness', not 'Location Awareness Lite'. I saw
some issues with 'lite'.

Apple does not support ios downgrades. The same question was asked hundereds of times when ios 6 and every other new version came out.
Try this
Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings (or for network connection issues 'reset network settings').
(no media or data will be deleted from the device, this will only take a minute).
If that doesn't work then backup and then restore the device as new first (to isolate cause of the issue). Then from backup if necessary.
Make sure iTunes is updated to the latest version

How to deinstall Oracle Developer 6.0

Dear Pro.
I wondered how to deinstall Oracle Developer 6.0 from Windows 2000. although i tried using Developer 6.0 CD to deinstalled the products, but after i clicked the remove button. whole windows is gone. using Oracle 8 CD doesn't work too.
could i just delete the folder which contains developer 6.0, will it work? should i change some path or some data in the configuration file?

IMO there is just one way that works:
- first step: look for running forms services (forms server or more), stop them
- second step: go to the registry, erase the whole key: hkey_local_machine/software/oracle
-delete the whole directory with forms.
Its brute force, I know; but it works within 5 minutes!!

Deinstall Oracle 11g client hangs on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit

Hi,
I am trying to dinstall Oracle 11g client on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit but the process hangs when it reaches the following:
Removing Windows and .NET products configuration START
It just hangs there for ever!
Checking the log file C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs\winprod_cleanup.out and I can see the last thing in there is ""Deconfiguring ODP.NET Component...""
Any idea what could be the reason?

I was able to resolve it...Apparently I was logged on as administrator when I invoked deinstall which caused it to hang when it came to the part where it was getting ready to deinstall the .NET components...I logged off and loged in as myself and invoked the deinstall and it completed successfully...

How to deinstall Photoshop 5.0 LE completely

As I had a problem with 5.0 LE (there was no reaction after installation), I felt forced to deinstalled it again (unfortunately without using the Photoshop deinstallation tool of Adobe) and during deinstallation I was asked if I surely want to remove some files (I think the files had to do with color values)... I didn't dare to remove them, and clicked on "No to all"... however, if I want to reinstall Photoshop 5.0 LE, do I have to remove those files manually first? If so, HOW can I detect them if I don't know their names, and HOW can I safely remove them?

after installing the newest rme-audio driver (Version 1.6) for my hdsp 96/52 on my G5 2 Ghz dual I don´t get no sound anymore.
I also installed the flash update.
It seems to be a driver problem, cause on my backup-system, using the 1.5 version, everything works fine.
I even tried to use the new driver on a completly fresh installed OS 10.4, but I don´t get sound.
Anyone knowing about these problems?
If not: How can I completely deinstall the new driver to get back to the old one?
There is no deinstaller and I allready deleted all "hdsp"-files. But the old driver is not installed properly anymore, since I´ve used the new installer.

Can't deinstall, restore or install iTunes

I've got a problem with deinstalling or restoring my old version of iTunes (7.0.0.70)
when ever I try to deinstall or restore the old version I et an error saying:
*invalid drive J:\*
and after that an error saying something about an unrestorable fault during installation (sorry, it's in dutch)
after which there's nothing done.
I tried installing a new version but I get the same error about the invalid drive.
I can't connect my iPod to the computer anymore because iTunes doesn't find it now.
The old program itself works ok, but because of a new version and the problem with the iPod I wanted to try a new iTunes. This was recommended by apple...
I really need some help because Apple told me to find an answer at microsoft.com and tey said I should get an answer at apple.com...

This problem often responds to cleaning up your installer files.
Here is a method for removal of iTunes and installer cleanup with the microsoft installer cleanup utility:
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime

Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program

Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
XP

If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
If it does, install iTunes
