Banding Issues with GeForce 8800

Hi,
I just installed CS4 Production Premium on a new Mac Pro. The system specs are:
2x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
10GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB
2x 1TB SAS drives
Samsung 30" Syncmaster 305T Plus
OSX 10.5.6 (both OSX and CS4 are up to date)
When I was working in After Effects, I noticed some dramatic banding issues when lighting a scene. I was curious, so I created a gradient and the same banding was visible. I tried creating a gradient in PS, AI and Flash: same results. Consistent across all CS4 products, and the image depth (8bit, 16bit or 32bit) doesn't affect it at all. Applying a blur effect to any image also produces banding.
I tried finding some gradients through Google image search. They look fine in Firefox, but when I open them in Photoshop the banding once again pops up. Same in Preview to some extent, but not as drastic.
Two other guys in my office are running CS4 with the same monitor. We're running identically calibrated color profiles, and working in the same color space. They have no problems. The only difference between their setup and mine is that they're using Macbook Pros.
Things I have tried: turning OpenGL on/off and toggling the individual GPU settings, working in all available color spaces, working with variable DPI, using another monitor, changing the synchronized color space through Bridge, changing the conversion options (dither, engine, etc), changing the color management policies, working in CMYK/RGB/Gray/Lab, changing the pixel aspect ratio, altering the scratch disks and memory allocation, dumping my CS4 preferences and starting over... none of this affects the banding. A 16bit 72DPI image that's a straight black to white gradient consists of nothing more than 12 or so very visible steps. I'm starting to wonder if this is a graphics card issue.
All the work I'm doing is for screen, so printers don't factor into the equation. I'd appreciate any tips or suggestions anyone can offer.

Well, one thing I notice is that attempting to open the linked .png in Photoshop, it has an embedded "SyncMaster" profile.
Opening it in Photoshop CS4, maintaining that profile, I see banding (although very subtle in the second (bottom) example). The top example exhibits a stippled effect at the band edges at 100% scale.
Opening it and converting it to Adobe RGB 1998, I see almost no sign of banding in that bottom example.
Opening it as is in Preview, I see the banding again.
Creating a new radial gradient in Photoshop CS4, 1300 pixels wide, #666666 to #000000, at 100% scale, it is a smooth transition with the barest hint of banding. Also, my #666666 is noticeably lighter than in your example.
Offhand, I'm not sure which factors affect your workflow. But I doubt it is your video card unless it is set for, say 16 bit or 8 bit...

  • Photoshop CS4 Issue with NVIDIA 8800 Video Card?

I have an Mac Pro Intel 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Xeon with 6GB RAM running OS X 10.5.5 and an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT driving two monitors.
I just installed Adobe Photoshop CS4 fresh from a factory CD.
When I perform a Distort -> Lens Correction or do a Free Transform to rotate an image an arbitrary amount, and then follow that with a resize (tried 133% and 166%), the image ends up with a pattern of gray plaid overlaid -- especially visible in the darkest shadows. The pattern appears only on the rotated layers of an image.
This pattern persists if I quit and restart Photoshop, BUT -- there's no pattern visible if I open the same image in Photoshop CS3. It only appears in CS4.
This is easy to reproduce -- I just tried it with an image I created in Photoshop at 5x7" at 240dpi and filled with solid black.
I dropped a Bug Report to Adobe, and they wrote back suggesting "This is most likely an issue with your video card driver."
Anybody else out there having this issue? Anyone with an identical setup want to test this?

  • Will the new 3GHz iMac (24") with GeForce 8800 be good for Aperture v2?

    hi all.
I've just seen the specs on the new iMac and I'm interested. I was resigned to buying a Mac Pro but found it difficult to justify the cost because I'm not a professional photographer. the new iMac might be good enough at a much more justifiable cost.
I wonder if anyone has information or opinions regarding the following.
Will the glossy screen be a nuisance? There is stray light in our living room where I use my computer although we do have venetian blinds on both windows. (don't bother suggesting using the computer in another room. this is Hong Kong where space is scarce and expensive.)
Will 3GHz/4GB be significantly faster than my 2GHz/2GB iMac for Aperture operations? (Aperture was not included in Apple's test comparisons)
Will the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS card be beneficial to Aperture use?
Will the FireWire 800 be significantly faster than the FireWire 400? on my iMac, transfers to/from my external SATA disks run at only a dismal 13MB/s rather than the ideal 40MB/s. is it my iMac's limited processor power, or a limiting factor with having only 2GB of RAM and a scad of applications open, or a problem (concerning caching) with Leopard's copying routines?
for future reference, would the Aperture library saved on the internal SATA drive be faster than if it was saved on the external SATA drive connected via FireWire 800?
your input and information would be appreciated (and it's probably going to be a common question).
    sincerely,
    Gregory

My expectation (every workspace is different as are individual perceptions) is that the reflective issues of the iMac's glossy screen would be very tolerable. What many (not all) graphics pros including me find intolerable is the fact that glossy displays add contrast and saturation to images. However many, perhaps most, non-graphics-pros prefer the added contrast and saturation, which is why Apple uses those displays. Each individual must do his/her own side-by-side comparisons and determine personal preference.
Will 3GHz/4GB be significantly faster than my 2GHz/2GB iMac for Aperture operations?
    Yes.
Will the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS card be beneficial to Aperture use?
I believe yes, but that is just a guess since I do not know the card well. Certainly picking an iMac for Aperture usage I would choose the top 24" with the 8800 GS card
Will the FireWire 800 be significantly faster than the FireWire 400?
    Yes.
...for future reference, would the Aperture library saved on the internal SATA drive be faster than if it was saved on the external SATA drive connected via FireWire 800?
Yes. Best IMO will be to have the AP Library on the internal drive but with Referenced Masters on external FW800 drives. The top iMac allows up to 1 TB internal drive size. Since drives slow as they fill, order a large drive and keep it less than half full to optimize operation.
...is it my iMac's limited processor power, or a limiting factor with having only 2GB of RAM and a scad of applications open, or a problem (concerning caching) with Leopard's copying routines?
Pretty much everything impacts AP performance, so the more things you optimize the better. The maximum 4 GB RAM of iMacs, although quite workable, will always be limiting. Good policy is to restart or at least close as many irrelevant applications as necessary prior to an extended Aperture work session.
Steve Weller, builder of the excellent <http://www.bagelturf.com/index.html> Aperture website, discusses speed improvements here:
    <http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1273934&tstart=75>
If you ever do run into performance issues, work to dial in on each of the performance tweaks he discusses.
As an aside, I too like the MBP (ideally 17" matte screen) as preferable to the iMac because of the portability. Unfortunately cost may make that an unacceptable choice, but I cannot overstate the huge benefits of portability.
    Good luck!

  • Sudden banding issue with Mac and new Canon printer, already called tech

    Good morning fellow Elementites.
I have been using Photoshop Elements 12 on my MacBook Pro 13 inch, running Maverick OS, printing to HP Photosmart Premium all-in one with no banding issues, ever.
I did want to upgrade my printer and monitor so I purchased the Canon Pixma Pro 100 and a new external LG IPS monitor to view the PSE program.
I also purchased ColorMunki Display to calibrate the monitor. Everything is operational with the recommended settings for color etc.
I printed a .tiff image and a .jpg through the PSE print function. The images that looked perfect on the new monitor and Macbook monitor printed with banding. I called Canon tech support. The man had me perform a few tasks to make sure the printer was operating correctly. We printed test sheets from the printer and they were all as they should be.
He the said he NEVER prints from PSE. He edits in PSE but prints using Canon's EZ share or print or whatever it's called, doesn't matter cause I do NOT LIKE IT AT ALL. Not to mention it is just another step in the work flow. Not to mention that I paid good money for a photo editing program of high quality and I want to use ALL the features.
He said the problem isn't the printer but the printing software instructions TO the printer via the Mac OS printer system, or something like this is what he said. He also had me download some other updates and driver files. He then had me remove the printer from my printer list and then add it back.
He then had me print the .jpg image, (it only prints .jpg which is annoying as heck,) and it came out SO BEAUTIFUL I ALMOST CRIED
I want to print this quality THROUGH PSE. Does anyone have a clue as to what to do to resolve the issue?  None of the suggestions in other threads from the past seem appropriate enough.
    Eager to hear,
    Regards.

I have returned home and have copied down all the settings so that I may post them here before I do any more fiddling.  Maybe something glaring will be spotted before I start changing things.
I opened an image in PSE 12.
I chose from the PSE menu at the top of the monitor, FILE >PRINT
A window appears with my photo and boxes and such: 1. Select Printer> CANON PRO 100-SERIES (The other printer isn't concern now).
Select Paper Size and Orientation, no problems with this or any of the other settings in this window.
I then select MORE OPTIONS button at bottom of window.
    Another window opens.
There are 3 options listed on the left hand side PRINTING CHOICES which it is automatically on, CUSTOM PRINT SIZE which I haven't needed yet, and COLOR MANAGEMENT.
    I select COLOR MANAGEMENT.
COLOR HANDLING is set to PRINTER MANAGES COLOR.
IMAGE SPACE is listed, not in any box, as sRGB IEC61966-2.1
PRINTER PROFILE is listed in a box that is grayed out and not selectable, as CANON IJ COLOR PRINTE...
RENDERING INTENT is set in a selectable box as RELATIVE COLORMETRIC.
(There is a little mssg below all this that reminds me to remember to enable color management in the printer preferences dialog.  I was never able to find this action and after doing some research I read that this mssg is a boo boo as the function is automatic in MAC running Maverick, supposedly).
I then click OK and the box goes away.
I then click the PAGE SET UP button.
    A window titled PRINT opens.
The Printer selection box says CANON PRO=100 series.
The next box always confuses me because nothing in the list appears to pertain to me when I want to print my photos.  It is the Presets box.
I believe FAST PRINTING ON PLAIN PAPER is always showing when I open this window.  But I don't want that so I always look to see if there is something I should choose that applies.  I don't know what they mean by DEFAULT SETTINGS in this case.  LAST USED SETTINGS would be ok if that was what I wanted each time I printed.  FAST and FINE on Plain Paper?  I have been assuming they mean plain copy paper so I don't choose that.  SAVE CURRENT SETTINGS AS PRESET, I don't choose that because I haven't been sure of the settings.  And the SHOW PRESETS does me no good becuase you can't change anything in there.
PAPER SIZE, not an issue at the moment.
LAYOUT button is my next stop, by now I am exhausted
I look at COLOR MATCHING which shows CANON COLOR MATCHING as the selected method.  (The other choice is COLOR SYNC but I don't know anything about that one and haven't been told to change it.)
PAPER HANDLING & COVER PAGE, N/A at this time.
QUALITY & MEDIUM.  I choose my paper type, paper source, print quality which for my photos I select HIGH.  I don't touch COLOR OPTIONS because that is scary looking.  And BORDER and MARGIN I have no issue with.
I then hit SAVE and the window closes.
Then I select PRINT in the lower right of the window that has my photo in it and from which I acessed all these other things.
Phew.  So, can anyone tell me if they see anything wrong here, PLEASE.
    Regards,
    P.

  • Z77A-GD65 issues with Geforce GTX 780 Video Card

    Hey Guys,
I have a issue with a new PC build.
I think it may be a driver or BIOS setting issue, I hope
I bought a MSI Z77A-GD65 motherboard and below are the specs:
    - Intel Core i7-2600 CPU 3.4 Ghz
    - BIOS Version E4451IMS V10.8
    - Balistix Sport 8GB sticks (Total of 24 GB memory installed)
    - Kentek 875w power supply
    - Geforce GTX 780 Graphics Card
My problem is with the Geforce GTX 780 video card, I installed a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit and
everything runs and works fine, but when i install the Geforce GTX 780 video card and install the
drivers its all good up to this point but when i restart the computer i get this message in the device
manager ""Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (code 43)"
I have installed different versions of the driver, a few older and few newer versions with the same
    outcome.
I tried to flash the BIOS to the latest version 10.11 but had problems with it picking up my harddrive
after it flashed successfully. I even checked the boot up setting and it all looked good just would not
boot up, so i had to revert back to the v10.8 BIOS version for it to work.
I'm not sure if there is a setting in the BIOS that i need to turn on or off. I'm not familar with this BIOS,
is there a place in it so i can see if the BIOS is picking up the video card, it has to or Windows would
    not see it right?
I'm stumped here, do you guys know of a Geforce driver version that works well with this video card?
I truely think the card is fine because when i install the card to the motherboard i dont get any weird
issues until the driver is installed and Windows is restarted.
I would greatly appreciate any help and advise that you guys can give me.
    Thanks alot

    UPDATE
Well i wanted to post an update on my new build issue.
    Here are my specs:
    I bought a MSI Z77A-GD65 motherboard with BIOS v10.8
    - Intel Core i7-2600 CPU 3.4 Ghz
    - BIOS Version E4451IMS V10.8 (i had a issue with the newest BIOS flash v10.11 it wouldn't detect the harddrive, could figure that one out so i went back to v10.8)
    - Balistix Sport 8GB sticks (Total of 32 GB memory installed) I first had 3 sticks so i got another 8GB stick to fill all 4 banks for total of 32 GB
    - Corsair Professional Series 860 Watt Digital ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Platinum Power Supply AX860i (Bought this PS to replace the Kentek PS)
    - N780 TF 3GD5/OC (GeForce GTX 780 GAMING) (traded Geforce GTX 780 card for the MSI version of the GTX 780 card)
OK... I got the new Corsair 860w power supply installed and i installed the new MSI GTX 780 video card with the specs above everything installed fine no problems and my son was playing the Bio Shock Infinite game on Steam and about 1 hour into the game he got a blue screen of death, says something like "to prevent damage windows is now resetting" and it turns off so fast can't read the rest of the message.
I'm going to here in a little bit and update all device drivers with MSI Live update utility and also update the motherboard BIOS again to v10.11.
I'm really confused here, I'm also going to take out some memory and try to run it with sticks only in slot 2 & 4 to see if it runs more stable like that, also should i update the video card to the latest driver, i know the latest is not always the greatest driver.
I want to think you guys again for your help & time with this issue. I really dont know what else to do here, everything is new in this PC.
    Thanks

  • CC 2014 OpenGL issue with GeForce Gt 740M

    Hi community,
I have some issues with using Photoshop CC 2014. From the moment I start the program my notebook fan will start working at 100%, but CPU usage is just around 5%. I discovered that it is probably an GPU issue. When I put the option 'Use Graphiprocessor' off, the fan in working normal. Even if I just deactivate OpenGL, the fan is working normally. I already updated my drivers. My notebook is running two graphic cards, the GeForce GT 740M and the Intel HD 4000. I was testing both cards with Photoshop and it's the same for both of them. As soon as I put OpenGL the fan is going crazy. I don't know if its really a graphic card / driver issue, since it happens with both of them.
I hope you can help, because I really would like to use Photoshop, but with all time 100 % fan speed it is impossible.
Thanks in advance and best regards,
    Moritz

I have the Nvidia driver from the Nvidia site and the Intel one from my notebook producer (ASUS). I tried to install the Intel driver from their page, but an error occured (not authorized for my system or something like that). The Nvidia driver offered by ASUS is older than the one I installed from the Nvidia site.

  • P6N SLI with Geforce 8800 GTS 640 MB won't install Windows

    Hi all,
After a reply in the topic for updating your bios.
I was advised to ask the solution for my question here before flashing my Mobo.
    My Specs:
    Intel Core 2 Duo 6600
    4 GB DDR-2 (4 slots)
    Geforce 8800 GTS 640 MB PCI-Express
    Sitecom WL-171 wireless lan card.
    500 GB Hitachi SATA Disk
    1 DVD burn/reader
P6N SLI Mainbord with Beta Bios because it wasn't able to use 4 GB Ram at that time.
    Zalman 460 Watt
    Now the problem
First it was working but with a Geforce 7600 GT 256 PCI-Express.
I have upgraded it today to a 8800 GTS.
After this upgrade my Vista won't boot anymore, same for my Ubuntu.
    What is causing the problem?
Is my Powersupply not strong enough or should I flash my bios?
    Thanks in advance.
edit: Windows XP 32 or 64 bit. Vista 32 or 64 bit all gave the same stop error: 0x000007e
The knowledge base sais it is a driver problem?
    But it isn't even installed.

    Check VGA power cable too.

  • Mac Pro Screen Freezing Issue with NVIDIA 8800 GT too

There were lots of entry in threads, where the screen freezing issue was described (disorted screen with strange lines, only reboot helps). Nearly all cases seem to be related to the ATI 2600 card.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1358062&tstart=30
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1365277&tstart=0
I opened this new thread to show, that this problems occurs not only for the ATI card but for the NVIDIA 8800 card, too.
My MacPro was delivered 8 days ago and was running without any problems. But all of a sudden, I got that screen freeze. And it wasn't the first time, I was heavely working 2-3 hours with that computer.
In total, 2 screen freezes showed on my computer. The first one during working with the computer. The second one during booting into MacOS X. The screen freeze occured during the boot phase with the grey screen and the spinning wheel.
    My configuration:
    MacPro 2.8, Dual Quad Core
    6 GB RAM
3 harddisks, 1 standard from Apple, 2 Samsung with 750GB
    MacOS 10.5.2
    Formac 20" Monitor
Perhaps others have this problem, too? Than we should emphasize, that this is not an ATI related problem.

I've actually been having the freezing issue for a while now but I didn't have the know-how to troubleshoot it (PC tech trying to support the only Mac lab in the building).
MacPro will freeze randomly (no trend in time, system strain, or open programs). The mouse will operate but will not interact with anything.
    Specs:
    MacPro - Model 1,1
    Dual Core Xeon 2.66
    2gb RAM
    nVidia GeForce 7300 GT
    Mac OS 10.4.11
The machine always has 2 displays connected to it so the workaround that was discussed for the ATI 2600 doesn't apply. I had 1 display connected here in my shop and it froze for that as well.

  • Banding issue with brand new MG7550 in Win 8.1

    Hi there,
I'm running some test prints on a new Pixma MG7550, but I'm getting a consistent vertical banding on landscape photo prints (i.e. horizontal bands on portrait prints).  It's really noticable on gradients, but is there regardless of colour.  It looks like a slightly darker line every 8mm or so.
    Here are the details:
    Pixma MG7550 (Firmware 2.020)
Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit (Auto update enabled and up to date)
Printer installed on network via ethernet (no other connection)
    Canon inkjet printer driver 2.80
    Stock (included) cartridges installed
    Printing from Windows photo viewer
A4 HP glossy photo paper (landscape mode)
For what it's worth, I was very careful in the setup process and followed all the instructions to the letter.
The print tests look fine, no missing content or obvious errors.  The printed image looks just like the reference one.
I've run nozzle checks, head alignments and the clean utility.
I haven't run a deep clean as I understand that this is only necessary when you are sure it is a cleaning problem and I really don't know.
I've updated the printer firmware, but the problem is exactly the same, before and after.
I suspect it may be a Windows 8.1 issue, but only because the Canon site refers to a similar-sounding problem in Windows Vista (where it suggests upgrading to Service Pack 2).
If anyone can offer any ideas, I would really appreciate it.
    Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Glad it worked out.
I have a Pixma Pro-100 with XPS driver, so my experience is based on that, but I believe they all work the same. As far as the XPS driver is concerned, when you install the XPS driver the computer sees two printers - an MG7550 and an MG7550XPS. If you don't make the XPS printer your default printer in Windows, or specifically choose the XPS printer from the Print menu of your application, then the XPS driver isn't being used.
There is also a lot of Internet discussion over whether or not Windows has a 16-bit printing process.
I have experimented with both. 1. I have not seen a photo printing quality difference visually with XPS over non-XPS. 2. Using the XPS driver hasn't created any negatives that I have seen.  So, I use the XPS version just in case there are some subtle benefits I don't see.
But, if you want XPS then you need to be sure to select it.
The print head sticking option moves the head further from the paper; usually selected for heavier weight paper. I don't know anything about the HP paper you are using, and don't know if there a re negatives with selecting it for lighter weight paper, but since you made two changes I would suggest you uncheck that option and print from PS just to see if there is a difference.

  • Mountain Lion incompatible with Geforce 8800?

I have an 8 core Mac Pro, everything has been working fine...until I upgraded to Mountain Lion.  Doing anything video intensive causes the system to crash.  Sometimes the whole system has a kernel panic and reboots on its own.  Other times, the video goes nuts, and I get repeating patterns all over the screen, and am unable to get the system back to a usable state without having to hold the power button.  The video card was a GeForce 8800GT, which I have been using for years with zero issues... until upgrading to Mountain Lion.  I have all updates installed as well.  I took the video card out and put back the ATI that came with the machine, and it seems to have resolved it.  But why is it doing this?  The Geforce is a far superior card, and I hate not having it.  If there is no fix, I may just downgrade and start looking at switching back to a Windows machine.  If anyone has any suggestions or answers, please help.  I appreciate it.
Below I'm pasting a log of the kernel panic:

  • Banding issues with Gradient

I'm having some troubles with the gradient tool in Illustrator and I hope someone can help. No matter what I do I can't get a smooth color blend there are always strips or rings. As you can see I have two colors in my gradient and the gradient slider is in the middle but I keep getting a lot of the first color with a quick transistion into the second color. This happens no matter what colors I use I just picked these two because they're easier to see the lines in. The same thing shows up when I print so it's not my moniter. My blend options are set on smooth color. It happens no matter where my gradient annotator is. I've never had this trouble before and I don't know what else to try!!  Any suggestions would be appreciated!

More things to check: using Illustrator in CMYK make sure to check assigning the "Photoshop 5 Default CMYK " profile and this will make the gradient appear without the banding you are talking about, because that color space has a gamma curve similar in smoothness (although not the same) as the gamma of the sRGB color space. Also check this, in a RGB document create a gradient from white R0 G0 B0 to black R255 G255 B255. Then to compare, copy the object, create a new CMYK file, and paste, the gradient now is with rich black and no banding because of that but it doesn't appear exactly the same as in the RGB because of the different gamma.
Actually you wouldn't want to do either.
Actually I recommended to check these things for the purpose of understanding the problem not as solutions. I can't recommend a particular color space without knowing what the destination device is.
The point of the example with the "Photoshop 5 Default CMYK " is that the problem is not the CMYK color spaces in general but the fact that Illustrator always makes a gradient assuming it is used in a color space having the same gamma curve as the sRGB color space. The OP used a color space with a very different gamma curve than sRGB. However, the gradient in Photoshop 5 Default CMYK and sRGB looks similarly uniform because both color spaces have similar gamma curves.
The point of the second example with converting RGB to CMYK is that although having rich black does help avoiding uneven gradient distribution, it doesn't automatically solves the problem with matching the sRGB gradient the way it looks in the sRGB color space and that's what the OP asked for.
The acctual solution for matching the gradint in sRGB color space in my post was this:

Monika Gause wrote:...Choosing "Photoshop 5 Default CMYK" will trun color management off - at least on the surface. But under the hood it will work on, only you are not in control any more. ...
No, it doesn't turn the color management off on or under the surface and you have as much control as using any other color spaces. But, I have no idea what this profile represents, I just gave it as an example after trying different available profiles and saw that this one gives uniform gradient similar to sRGB.
We can say the color management is off only when there is no conversion between source and destination because both are the same color space. This means creating CMYK documents referring to the monitor will always require color management conversion from the CMYK color space of the document to the RGB color space of the monitor, so you can't turn off color management for CMYK documents. You can do that for RGB documents by displaying them in the monitor's color space in which case the color space of the image equals the color space of the monitor (no conversion). And this actually is always the case with non - color managed programs but an option in those that are fully color managed.
    Monika Gause wrote:...
Pasting an RGB-artwork that contains the color black into a CMYK-document will convert the black to a very rich black of little under 400% ink coverage. Again you would not want to do this.
Pasting or converting from RGB mode the color R0 G0 B0 to CMYK mode will convert to CMYK values representing the optimal ink coverage rich black for the destination device as specified in the color profile of the document. That's why when you do this to documents with different CMYK color profiles you get different CMYK values.

  • Color Banding issue with FCP and Color...PLEASE HELP!!

Ok so heres whats going on and i'm hoping some can help me out here cause i'm totally lost!
So we have a film shot on HDV. The scenes are mostly dark and well lit. Everything in the FCP timeline looks great (little noisy but great). We brought it over the color and did our color grading and corrections. Once we returned back to FCP, we started seeing some major color banding. We then applied the neatvideo plug-in with helps with noise but it made it far worse.
We are rendering in 10bit but how can we remove this banding!!
    Thanks again for the help!

Yeah, you can't critically judge video quality on computer displays. They won't show you an accurate image. Unfortunately, there is no way to send a signal to a video display (HDTV, broadcast monitor) for this purpose from an imac.

  • Photoshop CS4 Issues with the NVIDIA GeForce 8800?

No, that's not it. I can see it at 100%, and only on images that have been rotated and resized.
In fact, yesterday I rotated one layer under an unrotated layer, and only the rotated layer showed the plaid pattern.
And it's not a simple grid -- it's a real plaid-like gray, almost like stretch marks.

Hi. I am having an issue with music on my IPod. It would probably be easier to explain my specific issue: I have songs by Band of Horses from Cease to Begin. When viewing my albums through cover flow, it shows Cease To Begin as two separate albums, one with only Islands on the Coast, and the other having Islands on the Coast with 3 other songs. If I delete the album with only one song from my IPod, it deletes the song from the other "album" as well. If I go to "All Songs" by Band of Horses, it only shows one Islands on the Coast, so it is not a duplicate issue. Also, in Itunes, it only shows one album. I just recently updated to iOS5 on my 4th Gen IPod Touch, if that helps.
