Bandwidth limiting with 2504 WLR and 3602E AP
Hello,
My QA team needs to test number of special connectivity scenarios where their wireless connection has a limited bandwidth.
Ideally, I would like to provide them number of SSIDs each of which has different bandwidth limitation.
But so far I did not find a way to apply any bandwidth limitations to my 2504 Wireless controller and the 3602E AP.
QoS has only 4 pre-defined modes which can't be set to a specific limit...
Any help/advise would be highly appreciated!

Didnt realize this was not on the 5508, +5 Scott.
I guess the next best option is to ACL/QOS on the wired side for that subnet in question.

Question about possible limitation with Outlook 2013 and Acrobat 11 Pro
Is anyone aware of a limit on folders displaying in the "Convert folders to PDF" when selecting folders to print from Outlook 2013?
My coworkers and I have noticed that plus signs are not available for viewing folders when attempting to print a pdf file using the "Convert folders to PDF" option in the Adobe PDF plug-in. However, these plus signs that are used to expand folders when viewing PST files in Outlook are available.
The below is not the exact example of the issue. I included it to show how the plus signs display. Each PST file that is added to Outlook should display in the window including all of it's folders and subfolders.
If anyone can answer whether or not there is a limits or any limitations when working with Outlook in this regard it would be greatly appreciated.

"bufferbloat", Airport Extreme, and bandwidth limiting?
I have a somewhat complex network setup at home. I have a Cable connection with 20Mbps down, 2 Mbps up, my own Motorola SB6141 cable modem upstream. Plugged into that, I have a recent model Airport Extreme (802.11ac), and an older Airport Extreme set up with a roaming network. The primary clients are recent vintage macbooks, iOS devices, with a smattering of other connected devices (DVR, windows, Synology NAS, etc.
The problem that I'm running into is that network connectivity has lots of issues if I run a large upload that saturates the outbound connection, e.g. with Dropbox or another online backup tool like Arq. When that happens, inbound traffic gets super spotty, and things like Netflix become unusable. peer-to-peer within the network continues to work fine.
As near as I can tell, these are the classic symptoms of "bufferbloat" and from what I've read, the solution to the problem would be to introduce an outbound bandwidth limit (say at 1.98 Mbps) at the first outbound bottleneck, in this case, at the Airport Extreme (ac) connected to the cable modem.
Is there any way to do this? I couldn't find any kind of bandwidth limitation mechanism in the Airport Utility.Is there any way to do this?
Sorry, but no. The AirPorts are all very simple, bare bones routers with a minimum of functionality. -

You can do one thing...
Activate the SLED check...
BY this when the date goes earlier or late from the expected date, then system show you the messages like:
1. Earliest delivery date is DD.MM.YY..
2. Expected delivery date was DD.MM.YY...
In std sap system, the second message is already error message...so when get late delivery then it'll not be possible to maintain the GR...
For the qty varinace, activate the quantity variance either via over/under delievery tolerances..or
Via SPRO settings...
SPRO >> MM >> LIV >> Invoice block >> check for qty tolerances and make the settings as per your requirement...

ME3400E and bandwidth limiting

We recently purchased the ME-3400-EG-12CS-M switch and would like to limit one of the ports to 6meg up and down.
I have the following configuration in place ofr the output.

Is there a better way of doing this with other commands?
In the docs it says you cannot use the shape on an input policy.
I was looking through the other thread s and saw examples of policy maps with the police command. Would that be better to use?
Finally, the interface has the rate-limit command available. Should I use that?
basically I would like to limit the bandwidth to 6 meg up and down.

Don HickeyThe input queue is different than the output queue. The output queue, you can buffer the traffic and shape it to the desire rate, but the input queue, you can not buffer, this is the reason you can only policy/rate-limit the input queue.

2950 or 2060 bandwidth limiting egress and ingress per port
I am providing an MTU bandwidth and needing a switch that I can set bandwidth limits for each customer. Each customer will have their own port on the switch. Will the Enhanced image 2950 or 2960 limit on egress as well?
Neither switch supports egress policers. Ingress policers can be configured on the 2960 & the 2950 as long as you have the EI-capable hardware. This is the same for the newer switches - 2960, 2970, 3560 & 3750. The 3550 does allowed egress policers but this is EOS now I think?

Outlook calendar and contacts sync limits with Xperia Z1 Compact
I have just set up my Xperia to sync with Outlook Calendar and contacts- took a while to realise outlook calendar needed to be closed to work, however now that I am able to sync my calendar and contact, I am only able to sync some of the items in my contact and the calendar updates to my phone only sync for a few months. Is there an option on this phone or in PC Companion where I can sync all calendar and contact entries, or somewhere that limits entries that I can switch off?
There was a setting I hadn't found in the PC Companion software:
On the start sync page there is a settings heading next to a spanner on the righthand side - this takes you to sync settings
Select Personal Data Selection and then the properties button for Calendar
You can then set the sync to select all your appointments or a subset.
I hope that this helps someone - it has taken hours to find this setting! -
I have a disability that limits my keyboarding abilities and speed. A blue tooth add-on keyboard will provide some help. However, I expect to rely on the dictation function on the ipad 3. Inasmuch as the blue tooth keyboards have no "dictation key, will "dictation" work in conjunction with a wireless keyboard?
I also have admiration for Steve Jobs. I've been a Mac user since 1984.
Given that a wireless keyboard will not have the dictation key, there ought to be some way to work around this issue. All that is needed is some way to toggle between keyboard input and microphone input. Perhaps using AppleScript and/or a hot key, I can set up a voice command or define a hotkey to toggle between the 2 inputs.

Problem with find reference and overshooting limits
I have a two axis system set up (with a 7344 and UMI-7764), axis 2 uses a lead screw and the find center VI works properly, axis 1 however has a much longer travel and uses sprockets and cables to move and is therefore less rigid. When attempting to find center, unless I run the axis very slowly, when the carriage hits the forward (or reverse) limit it overshoots the limit (inertia) and when the motor jogs to move off the limit it doesn't move far enough to release the switch and identify the location of the limit.
Is there a way to increase distance that the axis will move to back away from the limit and find its exact location? I would like to use a fairly high velocity to find center because the travel distance of the axis is up to 10 m and it takes quite a while to located center at the speed I am currently using.

The Offset Move, in counts, is the function or feature that you are looking for. It is on the Find Reference Settings in MAX, just below the location where the approach velocity is specified. This is under each specific axis inside of the Default Settings. The Offset Move specifies the number of counts the system should move to after the Reference Location is found.

i want to mention issue about cisco router 7206 npeg2 :
can this router handle traffic 780 Mbps as download and 75 MBps as upload ?? with cpu 85 % and with LLQ qos ??
im asking this question because my QOS althoug it matched alot of traffic , it some time get slow and seems that QOS not working fine , im sure that my work is fine, because it was fine , but recent days i added more bw ???!!!!!

There's not much you can normally do to improve against that, other than insuring your configuration is as optimal as possible for your needs (again, things like sequencing/ordering of statements).

WLC - Rate-limiting with QoS Roles
We have a large number of locations that we would like to deploy the 2100 series wireless controllers. Among other things, we would like to provide generic rate-limiting to all users(per-user bandwidth limits). This is a hospitality guest access environment and content filtering is really not a concern. We would, however, like to prevent one or a few users from saturating the circuit at the expense of other users. It looks like the WLCs can handle this with a QoS Profile assigned to the guest wlan and bandwidth-limiting QoS Roles applied to each user. The issue we may run into is web-authentication needs to be disabled. There is another device on these locations that will be providing those services.
Is it possible to apply a QoS Role by default to all users who associate to a controller without authentication? Also, if anyone has attempted this design model I would greatly appreciate some input on any unexpected or undesirable results you may have noticed.

I am understanding a QoS Profile to be applied to one or more WLANs and all user traffic from clients of those WLANs will fall under the qos policy as a group(bandwidth limitations would be applied to all of the user traffic combined). For example, a profile capping downstream bandwidth at 1544kbps would limit all user traffic from all of the clients associated to that ssid at 1544kbps. If we were to assume some degree of fair bandwidth distribution and there are 10 users receiving traffic at a given time, then each user would receive no more than 154.4kbps. Or, are QoS Profiles actual templates that are applied to each user that associates to that ssid? For instance, if we consider a profile capping 1544kbps downstream applied to a WLAN with 10 users associated. Each user would be able to download up to 1544kbps and the full bandwidth usage for that WLAN would be 15440kbps.

My company is about to launch an online teaching product allowing users to use a webcam to record themselves giving a presentation. That presentation can then be submitted to a supervisor to review and comment on. While making their recordings, users can record multiple attempts and review each immediately after stopping the recording. All of this is being done with a browser based Flash application connecting to an instance of FMS 3.5.
All of this is working well. However, we recently found out that due to some of our other products, we are getting hammered with fees based on the amount of bandwidth we are using in our data center. We have made some alterations to curtail these problems, but we are concerned that this new product is going to push us over the edge again. Our original plan was to keep the video stream right around 115 kbps, a relatively low data rate. But when thinking about the expected concurrent users, the bandwidth starts to stack up and really spike.
So we are now looking for ways to limit the bandwidth that this new product will use. One idea was to figure out how to record the video locally when users where recording their test presentations. I thought that was now possible, but apparently that is not yet the case with the Flash Player.
Another idea was to limit the bandwidth that is allocated to each user that connects to our FMS. We are hoping to address the spiking issue with this limitation. I am, however, concerned about what will happen to a video stream that is getting squeezed on the server site. I know when users have limited bandwidth, video files that are published to the FMS are compromised (poor quality). But what happens when the bandwidth is limited on the server side? Do the same things happen to the published video file? Or can the server somehow queue up the data coming in and deal with it in full when it finally gets to it. My guess is that this is not the case, but was curious what others though.
If you have any other ideas on how to work around our bandwidth issues, I'd be more than happy to hear your thoughts.
Thanks!Are you presentations only Video/Audio? If yes, then you can use FMLE to record Video/Audio locally using "Save to File" option of FMLE. User can they play it back using any playback client to check whether he is happy with the presentation. Once he is final on his presentation, he can upload it to server ( you will have to figure this out , how do you want to upload, ask user to ftp or use some other mechanism - that out of FMS anyways)

Is there Bandwidth limitation using IPSec ?
We have an office in Asia which is connected to our New York location using l2l IPSec through the internet. They claim that they have guaranteed bandwidth of 2MB with their local ISP. They are using MRTG apllication to monitor the bandwith and it is reporting that only 512K is being utilized on the link. They think it is something with the firewall or it is because of the IPSec. We have the IPSec interface set to auto negotiation and the interface stats does not seem to be anything out of the ordinary. What could it be ?
It could be the application. The latency between Asia and New York might be to high to let the TCP frame size
ramp up.Try putting some sort of WAN killer behind it and see what your true non-application restricted throughput is.
To your original question. No, there is no bandwidth limitation in IPSEC. Only hardware limitations of the crypto engin, but that only applies when you get into much higher BW numbers. (Unless you have a 2611 which does under 1M of 3DES throughput.)
Another thing your may want to consider is the MTU of the link. Try setting the MTU down to 1360 on the incoming interfaces or ip tcp adjust-mss 1360. This will prevent the applications from over ramping the TCP windows.
