Bang and Olufsen BeoSound 2 - incompatible?

Hi there,
My Bang and Olufsen BeoSound 2 mp3 player used to get along really well with my old OSX, now I've upgraded to Tiger it won't talk to iTunes any more. The dock is all lit up as it should be, it makes all the right noises, but no joy. iTunes just doesn't seem to recognise it.
Any tips? Anyone got it to work? If not, then can you get SD Card readers for mac?
Thanks!
Olivia

I find many SD Card readers for the Mac using these keywords:

And your Bang and Olufson is there. Might want to contact Bang and Olufson, and let them know they need to update their listing with Apple so people know what is compatible, or find out why yours doesn't work anymore.

  • Big Bang and GD65 (8D) PCI Loading

I am trying to compare the Big Bang and GD65 (8D) for a hypervisor.
My plan is to have two different video cards.  One would require a x16 slot, the other would be OK in a x8.  Now, I would like to determine how to best configure the drives and an extra NIC.
I am expecting 8 drives, 6 SSD and two HDD.  4 of the SDDs are for the host and 3 VMs, the other 2 are for buffering the 2 HDs.  This four-set, it seems, have to be on the onboard SATA3 to use the hardware caching feature.  For this, either board would seem to work.  Then the other 4 SSDs can be serviced with a discrete 4 port SATA for the GD65 or a 2 port for the BB.  The onboard SATA, I would guess, have dedicated PCI lanes.  But when a card is added, do all the ports share the cards lane?  So the item I am stuck on is whether the x8 slots for the GD65 will comprimise the SATA's through put for simultaneous access.
What would be a good setup?

    HU16E,
Wow, that was an eye opener.  Thank you for the details.
So the best I could hope for would be to use the two Intel ports for a RAID cache, and then have a controller card to pick up another two ports that can be configured as the Intel.  Am I getting close?
    1)  Is there any advantages for putting the 2 HDDs and 2 SSD on the same card versus splitting them to on board and discrete card?
    2)  Is there slot arrangement trade-offs to coordinate the need for speed on the SATA3 ports and the one high end graphic controller?
I did not realize that caching the HDD was a RAID function.  But I have not been able to locate an online description (RAID #).  I have found a variety of proprietary solution white papers but no details.
Any idea what I can look for to learn more about this?

  • My iMac made a bang and died today

When I was sitting in from of my 5 month old iMac today there was suddenly a small crack or bang and the computer went dead.  As the house circuit breaker also tripped I reset then and went to restart the iMac but it was dead.  The short or component breakdown in the iMac clearly was sufficient to trip the RCB in the home.  I cantacted apple as its under warranty and I have apple care protection but all I was offered was an appointment to take the unit back my local apple store!!

Why did it go bang and I expected apple care to do a good deal more
It went bang because something failed, you won't know what until you take it in for service. Just as you would if your car went bang and died, you'd have take it in for service. It's covered by a 1 year warranty which has been extened to 3 years with AppleCare. If you have Software issues AppleCare is pretty good about helping you over the phone. If you have a hardware issue, they can't fix hardware over the phone no more than if you called Ford when a belt broke.

  • Bose Docking Station, Bose Headphones, and Shure e3 are incompatible

Can you believe it!!! Over $800 in above-mentioned accessories are incompatible!! Has anyone tried the extention for the headphones.
When I docked the Iphone in the Bose docking staion, I got a warning that it was incompatible? Will the Bose damange the iphone?

You are referring to the "Works with iPhone" program. What this refers to is this:
Devices designed to work with iPhone will have the "Works with iPhone" decal on them. This means that they have been designed so that they are resistant to the radio interferrence that GSM cell phones can generate. For example, have you ever been on your GSM cell phone and stepped too close to a radio or other electronic device with a speaker and heard a buzzing noise. "Works with iPhone" simply refers to devices that have been designed to be resistant to this type of interferrence.
Older devices, i.e. Bose Radio will also work with iPhone. They just arn't "Work with iPhone" certified. If one of these devices is connected to an iPhone, a warning message is displayed on the iPhone that says, "This accessory is not made to work with the iPhone." It then asks you if you want to turn on airplane mode. All this means is that the iPhone may generate some interferrence that could cause the buzzing noise mentioned earlier. Turning on airplane mode just turns off the phone's radio, hense no interferrence.
You can use your older devices with the iPhone. These devices WILL NOT damage the iPhone, nor will using them invalidate your warranty.

  • MSI Ti4800SE and MSI KT4V motherboard incompatible?

Yesterday I bought an MSI Ti4800SE to replace a GeForce2. It booted up fine and Windows detected it and installed the drivers. However, on rebooting, the monitor went blank and there was a series of beeps.
The computer would not start. I tried taking out all the other cards and tried the video card in 2 other computers but all I got was the beeps. I took the card back and got a refund as they had no more in stock.
Is the video card incompatible with the motherboard for some reason? Did I somehow cause the card to die? Should I buy another or will the same thing happen again?
Any help would be much appreciated.
    My system is
    MSI KT4V motherboard
    Athlon 2500
    512Mb Kingston RAM
    SB Live
    Network card
    56k Modem
    2 hard drives
    DVD ROM
    Mitsumi CD writer
    350W PSU
    Windows 98SE
    Thanks in advance

Thanks very much for your advice - looks like I need to spend yet more money then!
But do you think I damaged the card by not supplying enough current, bearing in mind that it booted OK the first time? Or was it not damaged at all?

  • Current firefox version wipes out internet conection and other programs as "incompatible" Any solution ??

Repeated efforts to downloaded latest version of firefox results in error message that various programs are incompatible with firefox, including roadrunner internet connection and most every Java subprogram.
Would like to switch to latest version of firfefox, but always have to restore computer to earlier 3.6 version.
    Any solution ??

Hi there rbowman, I can understand how concerning this is. It sounds like you set up Firefox on one or a couple of computers. It also sounds like you went with the regular version of Firefox. When you first set up Firefox it ask if you would like to pull settings, history, etcetera. I believe it does this after an update too. At lest in the regular one. So the employee must of said yes I want all my stuff from IE, and we know how that worked out. Firefox makes a version for the IT admin. It is called Firefox extended support. This lets you manage settings and all of that good stuff that an admin would have to do without going computer to computer. I would recommend you try this. Hope it goes better this time.

  • I downloaded 4.0 and discovered it is incompatible with Norton Firewall, Anti-virus and Toolbar. This needs to be addressed before I update Firefox again (I reverted back to the 3.6 version). Can you address this issue?

I downloaded 4.0 and which is incompatible with my firewall and Anti-virus. This is a security issue to me which needs to be addressed before I attempt to update Firefox again. Please address this issue. I am using Norton 360 Premier Edition.

  • 8800GT and VIA 880 chipset = incompatible

As you might have heard, the new VIA 880 chipset is incompatible with the 8800GT.(all versions)
But there is hope as it is possible to downgrade the 8800GT so that it runs with this chipset, as you may read here:
    http://www.mvktech.net/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,34/func,view/id,47800/catid,13/limit,10/limitstart,0/
Now, I need to flash my VGA, so that I can use it in GEN1-Mode.
Several companies have handed out the necessary *.rom file that allows you to flash your VGA.
    (EVGA, Sparkle, Gigabyte etc.)
Unfortunately, the MSI Support I contacted is incapable of doing a short research and provide me the necessary resources...
"Thank you for your support. This card is PCI-E 2.0 version, if your motherbaoard is PCI-E 1.0 version, you can also use it on this motherbaord, but it maybe run at a lower performance."

Since the MSI 8800GT is just standard design you could just use the .rom of a standard GT of a different manufacturer. If you have a oc model it would then run with standard GT clockrates (...unless you're using the bios of a oc model of a different manufaturer).
Of course this would be at your own risk but also the solution.
Another solution would be getting rid of that ASrock board
By the way it is not the via chipset itself that is incompatible. The problem is it's limitation of pcie lanes. As it provides just an X4 PCIe-graphics slot that's a problem for the pcie 2.0 card. That's what MSI support seems to have not understand from your question. You don't have a regular PCIE 1.0 slot and that's why support's answer doesn't help you.

  • 2011 Mac Mini and Acer x222w monitor incompatible? HDMI to DVI adapter issue

I am totally bummed because I just bought a new Mac Mini thinking I'd be able to use the display from my old system, an Acer x222w, which has both DVI-D and VGA connections. I hooked the monitor up using the HDMI to DVI adapter included in the box with the Mini. On boot, I could see the Apple logo, though it was not centered, and when the set up screen came up to the select language screen, it flashed quickly and then turned to snow.
I was on the phone with Apple support for over an hour trying to troubleshoot this issue. I was a little disappointed that tech support didn't even seem to  be aware that the Mini came with an HDMI to DVI adapter. It was then recommended that I try an adapter for the mini display port, which the 2011 Mini doesn't have.
I was able to borrow another monitor, a Dell with DVI-D, and it worked.
I have searched for specs/requirements that might explain why the Acer monitor doesn't work while the Dell one does. I cannot find anything from Apple. I just assumed any DVI connection would work. Has anybody else encountered this problem? Most of the issues I've found on the forums involve trying to hook up to a home theater LCD TV, which I'm not trying to do. If I had known my monitor wouldn't work, I probably would have just saved up for an iMac.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or tips!
