Bank 0 memory only reading memory

I have an intel Mac Mini and I upgraded the memory from 2 x 512mb to 2 x 1gb via crucial. It reads bank 0 but not bank 1. I swapped the dimms in bank 0 and bank 1 and the same results. Just bank 0 registers. Any ideas?

Seating the RAM is the most important aspect of upgrading RAM. Others have posted with similar problems, thinking it was a DIMM slot malfunction, but later finding out that they pushed the memory down into the retainer clips before it was fully seated. Since once the clips are engaged no DIMM movement is possible, it leads one to believe that the memory is properly seated. I suggest releasing the DIMM from the clips, then pushing the Dimm fully into the slot - the working DIMM/slot should show how far the Dimm should enter into the slot. You are working with soldered components on the motherboard, so caution should be used to not exert so much force that the Dimm slot is broken from its soldered connections.

I'm trying to get spectrum form ANRITSU MS9710B OSA via GPIB link. I am using the VIs provided by ANRITSU, there is no problem to detect the device and communicate with it.
I got a problem when it comes to get the values from memory with "Read memory data.vi"; in fact, it detects the start wavelenght but stops the acqusition at the first sample.
Does anyone already had this problem ?

Status Code 1073676294 (Hex 0x3FFF0006) maps to a status report. The status code indicates The Number of Bytes Transferred is Equal to the Input Count. More data might be available. This is not an error message, but a status report indicating the value written to the input buffer has been successfully read and is now empty.
Error codes are assigned negative numbers and status codes are assigned positive numbers. You can ignore an error if the error status boolean is false. There are a variety of positive status codes such as this one that the VISA driver can return indicating the status after VISA operations.
Because there are applications where it is necessary to check status codes, they are returned in the error cluster without the error boolean set.

I just put 8 gb of memory into my new mini, but the computer is only reading 4gb. It tells me that bank 0 has 4 gb and that bank 1 is empty. Which slot is "o" and which slot is "1" ? I re-wiggled the new memory sticks, but it still only reads one of them.

I just added two new memory sticks to my new mac mini, each stick has 4 gb. The computer tells me that it now (with the new memory) only has 4 gb total, however. It says that bank "O" had 4 gb and bank "1" is empty. My two questions are... Which slot is bank o and which slot is bank 1? The computer didn't beep or anything, so I think its just that it doesn't recognize one card. I wiggled them again, in case maybe I didn't put them in tight or something, to no effect. Any suggestions on what I may not have done right???

Same issue here. All chips, old and new working in bottom slot 0 but nothing working in slot 1 (top.)
It also seems to be important to make the insertion at the right angle that was actually steeper than I thought at first. I also got a nice click when it slipped into place. You can also look at the position of the center slot/protrusion on the bottom chip to get an idea of how far the stick needs to be in.
Another thread pointed out that you have to make sure that the retaining clips don't engage before you get it into place as they prevent further movement.

D20 memory not reading correctly. Bios sees only 20 gigs lenovo diagnostic sees 24 gigs

Ok i have a d20 with one set of dimms not reading in the bios. I have tried using all combinations and it always disables one channel of one CPU not reading in the bios but if I use the lenovo diagonstic it sees all the memory and can also run the quick memory test with no errors. I would really like to get all of the slots to work anyone got an answer for this. Thanks for you help in advance.

I'm assuming you're following the correct DIMM install order based on the service label on the inside cover? The DIMM numbering is non-standard with regards to the location.
If you think you've narrowed it down to a specific DIMM slot (or pair of DIMM slots), I'd try booting the system with memory ONLY installed in that slot (or slots). Obviously it's not the recommended fill order or anything, but it could be a good test to see if you possibly have a damaged slot or something.
Also, have you been messing with the CPUs at all? Though unlikely, I would guess it's possible that a specific CPU pin in the socket could be damaged as well.

HP Envy Touchsmart 15-J104sa Memory Card Reader not working

I took delivery of an HP Envy Touchsmart 15-J104sa running Windows 8.1 this week and the internal memory card reader isn't working. It doesn't recognise any SD cards (I've tried more than one) and continues as if nothing has been inserted; showing no error messages. All of the cards work on my previous HP laptop. The only way to get the laptop to show an inserted SD card is to run the driver update software (http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63001-63500/sp63415.exe) every time an SD card is inserted; this must be done with the card in the reader. If the software is run and then the card is inserted nothing happens. If the card is ejected and then re-inserted (or a new card inserted) it isn't recognised and the process has to be restarted and the driver reinstalled even though nothing has changed.
Can somebody please help me with this issue or I will have to return the laptop to HP. I do a lot of photography so being able to read an SD card quickly and reliably is extremely important for me; it's not a problem I expected from a brand new laptop straight out of the box.

Unfortunately non of the driver updates solved the problem but a BIOS update through the HP Support application seems to have remedied the issue. Whilst I appreciate there were no specific drivers available I find it hard to accept that HP should be able to release a model where they know the hardware will not be fully supported by the OS and in this case not function.

Using 6534 onboard memory only

I'm trying to set up a small pattern generator / analyzer using an PXI 6534 (DAQmx 7.5). Synchronizing the two groups for IO is no problem, but how do I make shure that in- and output operations use only onboard memory (provided that the pattern does not exceed 32MB). I found a property node option for Digital Output operation called DO.UseOnboardMemory, but I could not find the equivalent for Digital Input.
Can anyone help me?

I tried the DO.UseOnboardMemory with unexpected results. If my interpretation is right, I should be able write an 16 Bit wide pattern with up to 2 MSamples to the onboard RAM and after that start an output operation at max 20MHz (20MS/s).
This unfortunately gives me a buffer underflow error at a pattern that has only 128 samples....
I might be able to meet you at the VIP to show you the code. That might help :-)

My Mac Mini will charge - but not sync with - USB-connected devices (ipod, camera, memory card reader). I have tried unplugging the devices, restarting the computer, selectively unplugging and plugging in the devices, closing and opening the relevant applications (iTunes, iPhoto, etc). I have tried using different USB cables.
It's like all of a sudden the synching service stopped functioning or recognizing these devices for some reason. The other ports work just fine (monitor).
The only USB-connected external device that appears to be unaffected is the USB SuperDrive and it works on all the USB ports into which I plug it.
How do I fix this?

Open Console in Applications>Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens or doesn't happen.

Memory only runs at 2T

My Corsair 1GB (2x512) Value memory only runs at 2T. This is the setting that comes up in AUTO. I tried going manual and setting it to 1T but the system froze and wouldn't boot then, I had to clear the bios and start over. I don't have any experience with overclocking, but thought it should be running at 1T. Any suggestions? Thanks.

In other words, if I do in memory query only, does the query result will represent changes done in the UOW so far?
I thought that was the case, but then I saw this comment in EclipseLink 1.1.3, class ReadAllQuery:

We want to be able to do conforming against session via uow so include state in uow, and also only against uow.

Scenario 1:
We have 1000 organizations loaded in the session cache, we always cache all of them, so we know we don't need to hit the db. So we would like to do query in memory via UOW to pick-up the cases we are in the middle of a transaction modifing/creating/deleting an organization and also get the session object not yet transfered to the UOW.
Scenario 2:
I do not want to flush before each query, it is a popular query. The class queried against have many thousands objects in the session cache, also there is no garanty the objects are already loaded. I send to the db the query truncating all the columns of the select except for the primary keys columns, so using report query asking for primary key only. I then verify if the objects are present in the cache, if some are not present, I retrieve the missing objects in batch from DB using the ids. Most of the time we have 100% cache hit. Then I transfer all the objects to the UOW. Then to get modification done so far in the transaction, I query in memory only in the UOW not accessing session cache because would have to iterate thousands of objects. That sound convoluted scenario but it's actually very useful in our application to get better performance without introducing stale issue. Similar scenario is that we have some query that are repeted many times during the same UOW. We can keep trace that the query have been executed one time against the DB, so that the result is loaded in memory. But then, we still need to execute again to pick-up the change in the transaction but we don't want to pay the price of iterating the many thousands instances in the session cache, when we already know UOW has all the objects that the query needs.

Why does Lightroom 5.2 & my mac crash on import from a memory card reader?

I'm running Lightroom 5.2 on my iMac (OS X v 10.7.5).
When I try to upload raw files from my Compact Flash memory card reader (Lexar USB 3.0) the files begin to download. When it gets part way through download the download stops and I get the spinning wheel of death.
No matter what I try I cannot get Lightroom to shutdown or even the computer to shut down.
My only option is to disconnect the computer from the power.
When I re-start the images are downloaded but I do have to start from where I had left off to complete the download.
Does anyone have any idea's what I should do?
This computer has never run Lightroom before so I do not have a previous version of it on the HD.

1. Download the drivers and/or other software required for the OS version you're running.
2. Install the downloaded software/drivers.
3. Restart your computer.
4. Insert the memory card into your card reader.
5. Copy the entire contents of the card to your media drive - do NOT alter the folder structure.
6. Launch FCP and use Log & Transfer on the files on your media drive.

Inspiron 1520: memory card reader doesn't work in Windows 8

I upgraded my daughters Inspiron 1520 to Windows 8 and everything works well. The only problem we are having is the memory card reader does not work. Windows 8 recognizes it and shows the action center flag and advises us to install a new driver.. We install the driver R188776.exe, install it, and re-boot, but the memory card reader still doesn't work.. Is there another driver we can install?

Did you ever get this problem figured out? I had two hardware devices indicating problems when installing windows 8 on my 1520. It asked if I wanted to use it since I already had a newer driver in installed and I did it anyways. No more flags in device manager. Hope it helps.

Envy TouchSmart 17t-j000 Quad Memory Card Reader

My Envy TouchSmart 17t-j000 Quad memory card reader does not work. Notebook is only about six months old and I tried out a memory stick for the first time yesterday and nothing happened. The memory stick works fine in another computer. When I plug the memory stick in there is no AutoPlay window and it is not listed in This PC window. In Device Manager I do not see the card reader listed in USB controllers and Disk drives. I do see listed in Device Manager in Memory technology devices a Realtek PCIE CardReader. It is enabled and has the latest driver update. I have tried shutting down, disconnected power cord, removed battery, reversed procedure, and restarting notebook with the memory stick installed, still nothing. This Envy came with Windows 8 and I updated to 8.1. Also, all four USB ports work. System diagnostics test was performed and everything passed. Should I try to uninstall and re-install the Realtek PCIE CardReader? Thanks to anyone that can help?

USB memory card reader not working since latest security update

Hi, I have an iApp CR-e500 multi-format memory card reader; worked great prior to the latest security update. Now every time I plug it in I get the following errors in the console:

The reader works fine on my office Windows laptop and my USB pendrive still works on my Mac, so the USB ports appear to be functional; they just don't like this thing anymore.
Was there a USB driver change? If so is there anything I can do to sort this? I suppose I could just buy a new card reader if someone can confirm one that works with the latest security update of 10.4.11, that would be great.
Alternatively if Apple could please loosen up whatever they tightened in their USB drivers that would be nice as well...

Re-installed Ricoh Media Driver 2.10.00.04 from HP Support Center HP Elitebook 8730w Mobile Workstation software download page. No change. Card reader does not function. Put memory card in HP Elitebook 8440w, and it's 5-1 card reader reads it okay. So the memory card is fine. I suppose I need an updated driver. Need Help!!!    Thank you.

What version of iPhoto do you have? With Yosemite you must be running iPhoto 9.6.1 which is a available from the App Store. If your previous version of iPhoto was iPhoto 7 (08) or earlier you'll have to download and apply the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 to the library before opening it with iPhoto 9.6.1. It'll be located in the Applications/Utilities folder after downloading.

As long as the memory pressure is in the green and constant and you're not seeing a lot of SWODs you shouldn't be concerned about the memory. Of course increasing memory will nearly always improve general system and application performance. But you didn't mention slowness as part of your problem.
