Bank Guarantee and Cash Credit Limits in SAP

Dear SAP Gurus,
How  Bank Guarantee or Cash credit limits are maintained in SAP? How to do configuiration of it?
Thanxs
Regards,
Divyesh.

Hi,
Credit limits are set for the Customers depending on the nature of business, their repayment pattern.
This comes under Credit Management which you configure through Credit Control Area and set
credit limits to monitor the customer credit worthiness and ageing analysis.  Regarding Bank Guarantee and letter of credits, they are normally for export customers which comes under Risk and Credit Management in Sales & Distribution Basic data.  You refer to SAP pdf searching through Google for SAP's SDBFCM pdf file which gives you total scenario regarding setting of credit limits and Bank Guarantee etc.

How does one include Bank guarantee in SAP SD credit check.
What is the difference between bank guarantee and letter or credit?

    Dear Ravi
To my knowledge, Bank Guarantee is used only in Imports whereas, L/C is used in both (exports and imports) scenarios.  In both the cases, bank stand guarantee for payment to seller.

    Dear Sanju MS,
please kindly run the transaction OBXY. You should already have the following entries:
    D          G          Guaran.         Guarantee
D          L          Letter          Letter of Credit
Then You can use F-38, F-49 to post.

  • System Alerts for Bank Guarantees and Letter of Credits

    Hi
My requirement is to get system alerts when the the Letter of Credit(LOC) or Bank Guarantee (BG) is going to be expired.
We are using Third Party software for  master data and other information related to  Letter of credit.
In SAP ,I will  do special GL for LOC and assign to Reconciliation Account as  per standard.
What is the best practice to get system allert, when ever the date is going to get expired.
    Many Thanks In advance

    Hi,
In case you want to send the last record only, then you can use following qurey
    SELECT TOP 1 * FROM DBO.OVPM T0 WHERE T0.CashSum >= 10000 AND DATEDIFF(DD, T0.CreateDate, GetDate()) = 0 ORDER BY T0.CreateDate DESC
then in Alert u can set the frequency as 1 minute.
    Hope this helps...

  • Banking functions and Cash journal

    Hi,
Can someone advise me on the full setup and configurations of the above ? And the usage.
    Thanks.
    Angel.

    Hi,
I have set up the cash journal following the instruction in the link.
I have some problems and questions regarding the actual posting of cash journal, FBCJ.
    1) The petty cash acct created has a zero balance. How do I record the opening balance if I have some cash on hand ? What is the double entry ? I have also set the acct to "Post Automatically" as advised by the link.
    2) To test the settings above, I manually post an entry to debit petty cash acct and credit bank acct. So that there is a balance in the petty cash acct for me to do the testing. Although this might not be the correct way to record. Waiting for advise in Qn 1 above.
    3) I tried to use FBCJ to post. However, it kept prompting me an error message.
"Payment amount is larger than cash on hand. Change amount".
How did the system determine that ? I already posted an amt of 100,000 in the petty cash acct.
Can you advise me how to do a posting using FBCJ ?
    4) Under FBCJC2, I have set up one business transaction for misc expenses. Is this enough ? Or advisable to create a few more business transactions ?
    5) Under FBCJC0, instead of using GL doc type AB, is it ok if I created a doc type "SK" and used this one ?
    Please help.
    Thanks alot.
    Angel.

  • How Bank Guarantees Are Linked to a Particular Project?

    Hi,
    1. Create a Special GL Indicator for Bank Guarantee and use the same in F-49 (customer ) or F-57 (Vendor). -
    transaction Code - FBKP
    2. Make WBS Field as mandatory for Bank Guarantee GL Account (recon account), then system will ask you enter WBS No while saving document in F-49 or F-57.
Please revert if you need more clarity.

  • Hi, Noted item-Bank Guarantees

    Hi Gurus,
I configured the noted item for bank guarantees and i am making postings also, and my doubt whether this bank Guarantee reconciliation a/c's, we are mapping in the balances or not. what's the procedure in case of preparation of balance sheet for noted items.  Please let me know,  i will assign points.
    sd/-
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
As you understood correctly there won't be any financial impact because of these Noted items..
All these are single line item documents....
Even though we assign the Recon a/c to these Spl GL a/c, there won't be any posting to these a/c and even if you assign them to the FSV, system will not show any balance on your Balance sheet or Trial Balance.
These are only useful for reporting...in FBL1N and FBL5N you can generate reports by selecting the Noted items in the selection given in the down.....
I hope it will clarify your doubt...otherwise please revert back
    Thanks & Regards

  • Bank guarantees

    hi
I am very new to this Bank Guarantees Concept can any body tell me what is the meaning of the Bank Guarantees and how to configure it and what are the transaction codes used  pl   thanks in advance points will be rewarded

    Hi
    The steps are as follows
1.T  Code FBKP for GL Account Assignment to the Reconcilliation Account
2.T.Code F-49 for entering the Bank Gaurantee received as Noted Item.
3.T Code F-28 for payment received from the Customer for the sales invoice. In the first screen in the Open Item Selection segment provide G as the Specil GL indicator after providing the Customer No.
The the system would automatically clear the Gaurantee along with the invoice amount.
Hope I have provided the required T codes.

  • Tracking of due dates in case of letter of credit and bank guarantee

    Hi
In case of letter of credit and bank guarantee can a track be kept in sap for bill negotiated and due (means the vendor has claimed payment but payment from us to our bank is not due) ,
negotiated and due(means our payment is due)
and bills negotiated and overdue (means payment from our side to our bank is overdue)
how is it possible plz explain in detail as i have never worked ob LC and BG.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
Thanks for the answer I will try to explain my requirement .
In case of import and exports Letter of credit and bank guarantee are opened with the bank. There can be amendments also after its creation in terms , amount or validity period. Then it is negotiated and retired.
An example : A letter of credit is opened on 1st Jan. The goods are shipped on 7th Jan .Credit term given by our bank (in case of import) is 1 month which is counted from the shipment date and it expires on 7th feb. The vendor negotiates the bill on 15th jan.
The requirement is to get a report of u2018negotiated and dueu2019 and u2018negotiated and overdueu2019category.
Like from 15th Jan to 7th Feb the bill negotiated by the vendor comes under u2018negotiated and dueu2019 category and after that it comes under u2018negotiated and overdueu2019category.
List of letter of credits established , negotiated , retired and balance if any.
Letter of credit wise u2013 Bank charges paid. i.e at the time of opening , amendment , negotiation and retirement.
Same in case of bank guarantee also.
Plz explain me how can this be tracked and how to configure this.

    Hi All
My requirement is to calculate interest on cash credit account in
bank . The interest is charged as for e.g 10% on any withdrawals above
10000 and 12% on any withdrawals above 15000 . Whre to set this limit ?
How will this cycle  be done and will it be posted to GLs by this interest
calculation run or can it be used just for information purpose to cross

    Please respond .

There are two defined interest calculation types in the SAP
    system.
    1. Balance interest calculation.
    2. Item interest calculation.
System defined variant for balance interest calculation type
is u2018Su2019 and item interest calculation type is u2018Pu2019. Balance
interest type calculation is used for G L Accounts. Item
interest type calculation is used for vendors and customers.
    To display all transaction codes:
    Go to t.code:SE16
    Table name: TSTC
Keep blank maximum number of hits.
Total transaction codes in SAP 70837.
The following steps are involved in interest calculation.
    1. Define interest calculation types (OB46)
    2. Prepare account balance interest calculation (OBAA)
    3. Define reference interest rate (OBAC)
    4. Define time dependent terms (OB81)
    5. Enter interest values (OB83)
    6. Creation of G L Accounts (FS00)
    7. Define automatic posting (OBV2)
    8. Entry for loan (F-02)
    9. Interest calculation run (F.52)
