Banned IP address?

My institute uses a proxy server and so I am unable to log in to the Adobe Forums. I recieve the following error :"It appears that your account login has been banned. You might contact your administrator if you think this is a mistake."And I cannot access the Internet without enabling the proxy server. Can any administrator help me.
Thanks in advance.

These forums can temporarily ban a particular IP address when it has been associated with spam activity. This can affect a proxy server if another user was accessing our site from the same server, and was engaged in spam posting.
Please reply with the public-facing IP address of your proxy server.

  • How do change ip address (2014 edition)?

Hello...i have previous generation of airport extreme...the flat looking one...
Apparently there is a forum that i usually go to...and received a message saying I got banned....but for unknown reasons. I know i didn't do anything wrong.
Since my ip address had been banned..how do i change it? the router is connected to pc computer...while rest of wireless devices are mac and some Idevices...
Please help...also i have time warner cable if it helps...

You can't change your public IP address. (Which is what the forum sees) It is assigned by your Internet Service Provider to your modem/router.  If its dynamic it will eventually change on its own, but there's nothing you can do to change it yourself. Its like the address for your house. You cannot simply go outside and change it.
If the Forum banned the address its likely they banned a range of them so maybe several of your ISP's public addresses got banned.
You will have to sort this out with the forum administrators.

    Hello
I am using Web Client with the DownLoadFile() option to download files from a site.  If too many requests come in too fast it will banned that address for 24 hours.  (A DDOS security measure) I need to have the program wait until the file
is downloaded before making the next request but be running in the background so not to freeze the application.  A progress form will allow the user to know the status of the downloads.
I see something about asynchronous downloads but do not seem to understand how I would make use of it or if it is the method I want to use.
If someone could point to or give a good example of what I need to do, it would be most welcome.

    David,
There are two ways which come to mind here, both using the WebClient:
The first is that in a BackgroundWorker, you use the synchronous download method. The synchronous method is a blocking call so obviously it can only get one at a time, and when that one is completed, the loop then starts the next.
The second way - also in a BackgroundWorker - is to use the asynchronous method. The reason for this is because only the asynch method provides events to monitor progress and know when the file has completed. This gets a bit more involved because you're
still processing them in a loop, but it's definitely something that can be done - I've done it several times.
You haven't really given many details, so beyond this general conceptual description there's not a lot more that can I can explain, but your goal definitely can be achieved using a WebClient.
    I hope this helps. :)

  • Network sharing administrating

    Hello,
I'm using network sharing to share my internet connection (I'm tethering and sharing the internet).
I have a problem: _If I set up a password for the sharing, windows OS on other computers cannot connect._
I solved it using no password, but now I have a question: _How can I administrate my network sharing to be able to kick, or ban IP addresses or MAC address?_ I would like to kick or ban computers from the sharing (since they are slowing down the internet).
Thank you and waiting for your answer,
    Bharel

pursistance is key! I'm glad you never gave up! keep on truckin'! I had this happening to me and toggling it off and on often times fixed my issue. I have to admit though, I eventually gave up on it, and purchased a 2tb time capsule which routes all my content flawlessly (however I'm connect viw ethernet now and don't need to share my network anymore.
if you have time, feel free to tell apple about your situation and what you are running on. http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html I've seen too many wifi issues on here. I've already sent feedback of my own, but it wouldn't hurt to share your experience with this.
That being said, I hope it's the end of your troubles with this, however, I have a feeling you'll have to keep on doing this because it'll just stop working. for me it was after waking from sleep.

  • Apple banned my IP address?

Can Apple ban a IP address and if so why?
This evening all iPads in my house (3) were banned by apple, even when I'm trying to browse www.apple.com with a Windows PC it fails. Called a friend of mine, who had no problem at his house, to come over with his iPad, and the problem with his iPad at my internet connection was the same.
Tried to use my smart phone as hot spot, and all iPads worked fine.
Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong?
We are a big family with kids from the age of two to fourteen, with a lots af friends using our Wi-Fi when they visits us, can they have done something ????
How do I check what is wrong?
Does anyone know for how long a specific IP address is banned by Apple?

    Thanks for all your help.
Kappy: I have contacted apple support, they couldn't see any errors at thier site, but all worked four minuttes after talking to them?
    carl wolf: I did.
Texas Mac Man: No e-mail, just that connection can't be established. (iPad, PC, iTunes, *.apple.com)
Destinie Harris: Normal internet browsing by PC = no problem, using www.apple.com from PC, a problem. Anything that looked like an Apple homepage or service = problem. Tried to log on to internet by using my smart phone as a hot spot, an everything worked fine, both with iPad and PC.
    markwmsn: Look above.
But again, thanks for all of your help. It nice to know, that help is just around the corner. (As we say here in Denmark)

  • Ban Outgoing e-mail addresses and delay mail send

    1. We want to limit users ability to send outgoing e-mails to particular e-mail addresses.
(Either by use of blacklist (by domain or specific e-mail address) or if necessary by limiting it to addressbook addresses. We would prefer use of blacklist.
    2. We also want to automatically hold all e-mails until either
    a) manually released or
    b) if not manually released, e-mail held for 1 hour (- allows mail to be retrieved if "accidentally pressed send" events occur ).
Any ideas for add-ons or other suggestions please

  • Banning certain MAC addresses

I need to block all traffic to/from certain MAC addresses from within a certain VLAN on a 6500 running CatOS. Is there a way to do do per-VLAN MAC-based access-lists?

The IOS command functional equivalent is "mac access-list extended" Here is a snippet from the IOS command reference that covers the highlights:
Once you enter the mac access-list extended name command, use the following subset to create or
delete entries in a MAC-access list:
    [no] {permit | deny} {{src-mac mask | any} {dest-mac mask} | any} [protocol [vlan vlan]
    [cos value]]}

  • Banned from a website. Need to use for work. Please help.

I was recently banned from a website. I didn't do anything wrong and they won't tell me why I have been banned. My husband had an account on the website and as soon as they closed my account, they also closed his. We don't know if someone else used out IP address on this site and violated their rules or if we unknowingly violated their rules ourselves; they won't tell us.
The problem is that we need to be able to access this website for our work. We work from home and it's essential. We weren't sure if they had banned us by IP address, so we had a friend create an account. The account is legit and legal. He then gave us the username and password. We accessed the account from our computer at home and the account was almost immediately shut down. The friend was able to straighten things out with the company and get the account set back up, but we cannot use our computer at home to access this site. It's obvious that any access by this IP address will result in ANY account being closed.
We have a PC desktop, a MacBook laptop, and a wireless connection for the laptop (not sure how much info is needed, so I'm trying to be thorough).
I'm not going to ask someone to help me hack a site or anything. And after hours of research, I think we understand enough about proxy servers to use one of those effectively. I also know that I can call my ISP and request an IP address change (which may or may not be honored).
However, I have read other message boards and learned about cookies that websites send to your computer to identify you. I understand that most of those cookies can be cleared out by simply clearing the info from the browsing history (including cache, cookies, etc.) But I also read that they sometimes send files that are buried deeper in the computer. So here's my question...
How can I erase EVERYTHING that this website might have sent to my computer to be able to identify it? I must use the laptop to access the website. I'll work on the IP address issue on my own. But we can't use the desktop to access the site for reasons that are irrelevant and the explanation would be even more long-winded than what I've already typed here. We have to use the laptop. And I need to be ABSOLUTELY certain that the site can't identify the computer. I won't try to use my friend's account again until I'm certain that it won't be closed.
Let me reiterate this for those who are concerned: the friend has give permission for us to use his account, we have done nothing illegal on the website we've been blocked from, nor do we plan to do anything illegal on the website. We have done nothing illegal in any way, and I want LEGAL solutions to this problem. If we are not able to access this website, we will suffer financially in a severe way and are desperate to make sure that we can clear out cookies or whatever other tracking info has been put into the MacBook.
    Can someone please help us?

Thank you for the info on onyx. I will try that. I actually took my computer to the Apple store and someone there "cleaned" it out for me.
As for why we can't resolve the issue with the website, we tried to talk to them about it but they just cut us off and said they weren't going to discuss it and that they wouldn't reopen the account.
We have one account as employees and the other accounts (the ones that were closed) were customer accounts. The two departments are separate, and we do not want to bring our account to their attention again and risk them connecting the customer accounts with the employee account and then closing the employee account as well.
We were using the customer account to monitor the employee account. Quality of video and sound, that kind of thing. Nothing fishy there. But since the guy on the phone didn't make the connection that it was our own account we were monitoring, he shut us down. Customers do the same thing to us and basically rip us off for thousands of dollars every week, and the company never gives those customers any trouble about it. So it's unbelievably frustrating. Also, we figured out how to do this by watching the activity of the other employees, since there's no "training" and we all learn from one another by watching. We don't know what would happen if someone there made the connection... whether they would just say "oops" and reopen the customer accounts, or whether they would be irritated about us using the customer accounts in that way and just shut us down completely. We'd rather not find out.
As of now, we're using a friend's account to monitor our video and sound quality. But we're still using the same computer. That's why it needed to be "cleaned."

  • How to find out who steals my phone and ban them?

    Greetings,
I have a big problem here. I am using my iphone to connect my PC, desktop, TV, etc to internet, and I always mindful about my data rate since I am using metered data plan. But somehow, sine 2 month ago, my data usage suddenly increase tremendously. let's say, about 100 times higher than my normal rate.
Been monitoring my phone, I found 2-3 connection logged in when I unplug EVERYTHING from wall socket at my home that can connect to my device. I am sure someone is stealing my hotspot connection, and he probably is one of my neighbor. I don't know who, or which one.
I have tried to change my password 3 times, but that only works for about 1 week at most, then my data plan shot to the roof again. I NEED to secure my phone, or at least limit devices that are allowed to connect to my phone.
I don't want to change my password daily, but I can't let them use my connection forever. I need to limit connection to only selected device. My friend once came to my home and showed me how people do it, and how to ban such devices from connecting to his droid, but I've found no such thing on my phone, and nobody gave a clear answer on the internet on how to prevent that.
Please help.. this is driving me crazy.. I've paid some $3000 last month, and I am already scared to my bill this month.

  • Changing MAC address on wrt300n

So what did I learn today ... never let your little brother on your PC when logged in at a forum ! Result = kicked out, profile deleted, IP banned !
So I gather that my ISP has only static IP's and they suggest to change my MAC address to get a new IP so I can return to the forum and sign up again with a new profile. So the question is ... how the heck do I change the MAC address on the router ? Anyone have a source that I can read up on this ? This is all very new to me.
    Thanks in advance.

MAC addresses are like DNA. There are no two matching ANYWHERE in the world (each device in the world has a unique hexidecimal MAC address and no two are alike). Therefore you cannot change your MAC address.
What I can tell you is what your ISP really means. When you connect your router (which has a MAC address) to their modem, their modem memorizes your devices MAC address and assigns it an IP address. You need to make the modem forget this MAC to get a new IP.
To do this, turn off your modem and old router and leave it off for a bit (10 min). Borrow someone elses router (or if you have an old router, use it). Connect it. Turn on modem and new router. Leave on for about 15 min so that your ISP forgets the old MAC address of your original router and creates a new IP address under the new MAC address of the newly connected router.
After 15 min, power them both down again, disconnect the temp router and connect your original router. Power them back up and wait 15 min again. You *should* get a new static IP from your ISP as it thinks it's a new MAC again. The ISP doesn't remember MAC addresses, only their modem does and once it forgets, it should give you a new IP when you connect the router again.
    Hope this helps!!
