  • Final Cut Studio 2: Requirements and Recommendations

Hello Final Cut Studio 2 Experts,
I'm considering purchasing Final Cut Studi 2, and to make sure that I'll benefit from the full range of specific application (FCS/motion/color...) and I'd like to ask few questions (5 main points) regarding requirements and recommendations. So, please be prepared for much reading as I am not an expert on the matter. I like to know if my computer accepts any further hardware parts highly recommended and if I can purchase and install them myself. And yes, you should also know that I intend to use a Panasonic multi-format (HD/SD) camera for capturing and exporting videos.
N.B. Please note that the full list of my Hardware contents appear at the bottom of this text.

Unfortunately, Safari cannot be updated past 5.1.10 on a Mac running v10.6.8.
So, the options are to upgrade to a newer OS X or use Firefox or  Chrome.
Be aware, Apple no longer support Snow Leopard v10.6 >  www.ibtimes.com/apple-kills-snow-leopard-os-x-106-no-longer-receives-security-u pdates-1558393
See if your Mac can run v10.9 Mavericks >  OS X Mavericks: System Requirements
If so, you can download and install Mavericks for free from the App Store.

Can't load Netflix - Firefox says something about cookie problem and recommends try again button. ("The page isn't redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.)" Hit the try again button repeated ly - nothing???

I decided to give Netflix a call about this problem.
On a recording while waiting for a support rep, it said if you're having problems logging in to go to:
    http://www.netflix.com/clearcookies
It works for me. Now I have to logon everytime I go to their site though versus it had kept me already logged in before this problem.
I will be using that link to get to their site until they get it fixed.

  • Is SSD partitioning with boot camp stable and recommended?

Is SSD partitioning with boot camp stable and recommended?

The OS as already stated does not know the difference. The SSD will perform as it does with any operating system. SSDs can be partitioned as can HDDs.
My Bootcamp partition is running exactly like it did on my HDD only faster. I have not experienced any issues with the Bootcamp partition or the SSD.

  • SAP SCM and SAP APO: Best practices, tips and recommendations

    Hi,
I have been gathering useful information about SAP SCM and SAP APO (e.g., advanced supply chain planning, master data and transaction data for advanced planning, demand planning, cross-plant planning, production planning and detailed scheduling, deployment, global available-to-promise (global ATP), CIF (core interface), SAP APO DP planning tools (macros, statistical forecasting, lifecycle planning, data realignment, data upload into the planning area, mass processing u2013 background jobs, process chains, aggregation and disaggregation), and PP/DS heuristics for production planning).
I am especially interested about best practices, tips and recommendations for using and developing SAP SCM and SAP APO. For example, [CIF Tips and Tricks Version 3.1.1|https://service.sap.com/form/sapnet?_FRAME=CONTAINER&_OBJECT=011000358700006480652001E] and [CIF Tips and Tricks Version 4.0|https://service.sap.com/form/sapnet?_FRAME=CONTAINER&_OBJECT=011000358700000596412005E] contain pretty useful knowledge about CIF.
If you know any useful best practices, tips and recommendations for using and developing SAP SCM and SAP APO, I would appreciate if you could share those assets with me.
Thanks in advance of your help.
    Regards,
    Jarmo Tuominen

    Hi Jarmo,
Apart from what DB has suggested. you should give a good reading on the following.
-Consulting Notes (use the application component filters in search notes)
-Collective Notes (similar to the one above)
    -Release Notes
    -Release Restrictions
-If $$ permit subscribe to www.scmexpertonline.com. Good perspective on concepts around SAP SCM.
-There are a couple of blogs (e.g. www.apolemia.com) .. but all lack breadth.. some topics in depth.
-"Articles" section on this site (not all are classified well.. see in ECCops, mfg, SCM, Logistics etc)
-Serivce.sap.com- check the solution details overview in knowledge exchange tab. There are product presentations and collaterals for every release. Good breadth but no depth.
-Building Blocks - available for all application areas. This is limited to vanilla configuration of just making a process work and nothing more than that.
-Get the book "Sales and Operations Planning with SAP APO" by SAP Press. Its got plenty of  easy to follow stuff, good perspective and lots of screen shots to make life easier.
-help.sap.com the last thing that most refer after all "handy" options (incl. this forum) are exhausted. Nevertheless, this is the superset of all "secondary" documents. But the maze of hyperlinks that start at APO might lead you to something like xml schema.
Key Tip: Appreciate that SAP SCM is largely driven by connected execution systems (SAP ECC/ERP). So the best place to start with should be a good overview of ERP OPS solution overview, at least at the significant level of depth.). Check this document at sdn wiki "ERP ops architecture overview".
I have some good collection of documents though many i havent read myself. If you need them let me know.
    Regards,
    Loknath

  • My Time Capsule is giving me a warning that  double NAT situation is occurring and recommends that I set it to bridge mode What is all this about please can it be explained in layman's terms and not martian thank you.

My Time Capsule is giving me a warning that  double NAT situation is occurring and recommends that I set it to bridge mode What is all this about please can it be explained in layman's terms and not martian thank you.

You have two devices....the Netgear and Time Capsule both configured to act as routers on the network. You only want one device providing this service.
I suggest that you configure the Time Capsule in Bridge Mode as suggested to eliminate the Double NAT error. Unfortunately, the Guest Network cannot be enabled in this setting.
No other adjustments are needed and everything else will operate normally...and the Time Capsule will still be providing your wireless network signal.
Once the Time Capsule is configured in Bridge Mode, it would be an excellent idea to perform a complete power cycle on the network to allow things to reset properly.
Just power off all devices on the network in any order that you want
    Wait a minute
Start the Netgear device first, and let it run a minute by itself
Start the Time Capsule next the same way
Continue starting devices one at a time the same way until everything is powered backup
The other option you have is to "ignore" the error and the light will turn green. The Double NAT error may...or may not cause some issues for you down the line. The next time that you update the Mac operating system, or update the firmware in the Time Capsule, it may likely change the Time Capsule to Bridge Mode automatically.
If your Guest Network "disappears", you will know why this happened, and you will have to manually configure the Time Capsule again in Router Mode to provide DHCP and NAT services.
Double NAT can also cause a slow down of web page loading. You may...or may not....notice this.

  • How to Render Collection and Recommendation Assets

unable to render Collection and Recommendation Assets on the page. pls help.

    Hi,
Have a look at the developer's guide, Chapter 39. Coding Engage Pages, Templates and Recommendations: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29495_01/doc.1111/webcenter_sites_11gr1_bp1_developer_guide.pdf
You'll need to use something like
    <COMMERCECONTEXT.GETRECOMMENDATIONS
    COLLECTION=“recommendationname” [LIST=“inputlist” VALUE=“rating” MAXCOUNT=“assetcount”]
    LISTVARNAME="assetlist"/>
or jsp equivalent, to get a list of child assets.
There is sample code in the FirstSiteII sample site. Look for the FSIIDetail Template for AdvCols. (AdvCols is the table name for Recommendation assets.)
    I hope this helps.
    Kind regards,
    Stephan.

  • Wi-fi full coverage prictices and recommendations

    Hello All,
can someone provide "best practises" and recommendations for wi-fi full coverage in a warehouse and in office.
This is widespread topic nowadays, isn't it?
For warehouse access points may be installed on pillar but behind and close to the pillar with omnidirectional antennas
there will be no signal. Which antennas suit the best for this case?

Get a wireless site survey done.  That's THE best practice.

  • Banshee and lyrics extension

Well, I want to know about a problem I'm having with banshee and the lyrics extension. In my laptop I've installed several distributions, Ubuntu, Mandriva, Gentoo and now Arch Linux, but my home partition is the same, I've only changed the other folders.
I've installed banshee in every distribution and the lyrics extension. Lyrics I had with Ubuntu are stored, I don't know where, (not in ~./.config/banshee-1 because I deleted this folder several times), and I can see but now lyrics extension it's not working anymore with new songs, so I don't know how to solve this problem. I  only can see "No lyrics found" message, so I don't know what's going on.
    Thanks for your answers.
    BR

I still suffer this problem in 3 different machines (banshee 2.6.1, fully updated 64-bits Arch). Does the lyrics extension work for anyone who uses banshee? Thanks.

  • HT5957 !I i updatedmode and recommends 'restore' but I would lose all data! Any suggestions? Apple helpline is not 'taking calls at this time'!

I tried to update my iPad to iOS 7.0.2. and all I have now is screen asking to be connected to iTunes. Message tells me iPad is in 'recovery mode' and recommends 'restore' but that I would lose all data as this would restore factory settings. Any suggestions?
Apple helpline is 'not taking calls at this time'!!!

Your data is already gone.  Why did you not take regular backups of your data? Now you know why you should.

  • Difference between Maintenance update and recommended patches.

    Hello
What is the difference between "Maintenance Update" and "Recommended patches" ?
Can we install the OS from the distribution, then install the recommended patches and have a decent system. Or we do need to install the maintenance update before the recommended patches ?

    Hi,
What do you mean of Manual Update.
Simulation means , it will not upload into the data to the datatarget,It just explore you about how the system goes through update rules,Transfer rules .
real upload/Update manually means the data will reach the datatarget and sits there with out explore you about how the system goes through update rules,Transfer rules .

I'm registered to itunes and recommended to download icloud but was told I'm not registered for icloud how do I register for icloud?

To register in iCloud, you need an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac in order to log in iCloud for the first time. See > http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup
If you haven't got any of these devices to set up iCloud, you can't use iCloud. Anyway, probably you don't need it if you only have a PC and an iPod nano (it doesn't use iCloud)

  • Thinking about getting a new iMac to use as the main computer.  Has anyone done this?  What is your experience and recommendations?

We have a 2009 MBP, 2010 MBP, 2011 MBA, an IPAD 2, and several ipods.  Currently, my 2009 MBP is the main computer, holding all the music and pictures.  This has used up the majority of the available storage and definitely slows it down some.  I do back up the full computer to a backup drive and also remove the large movie files to another external drive.  I'm thinking about getting a new iMac to use as the main computer.  Has anyone done this?  What is your experience and recommendations?
I look forward to all responses.
    Thanks,
    Brad

Thanks for your response.  I look forward to hopefully learning something new here.
A good share of my music was added via my CDs, but now everything is added via itunes and occasionally amazon.  Almost all my pictures and video are added through my cameras via iphoto although I have added some with the 'add image to iphoto library' function also.

  • Banshee and mono

I know I saw a thread in here somewhere today talking about music players that look like iTunes, but for the life of me, I can't find it again. So, I am starting a fresh one with a title that goes right to the question.
Banshee looks very interesting, but it appears to need mono. I see that we have a package "mono" in the repository. Is it as simple as installing this package and then Banshee, or does Banshee (since it seems to be a Gnome component) require a bunch of other stuff? If one installs mono, does this impose extra overhead on the system? I've never really been clear on what .NET and mono are fundamentally providing. Thanks.

Actually, it requires a LOT of other packages. I tried it, realizing that I could just say "No" if pacman presented a list of dependencies that I found too large. "Large" would be an understatement! It pulled in what looked to me like most of Gnome. I said "No" and got serious about getting and installing wxMusik after that.
I have played around with wxMusik quite a bit now. It is quite nice. Unfortunately, while it did import my iTunes database, it seems to have missed all of my "home grown" iTunes playlists, and the odd song here and there, where I had "one ofs" by a particular artist. Still and all, it is quite a nice package. I would recommend trying it.
